BackSet
Ray of Sunshine
(A note on magic: due to Dalet’s origins (a barren spot of land leftover from a war between gods) Dalet does not contain the residual magical energies (mana) required for large spells leaving its people with only smaller, low key spells. The only acception to this is the rainforest, in which a magic item provides the shamans of the Neko and only the shamans of the neko (aka, those it deems worthy) with spells of greater power. So long as they use them wisely. (Their largely healing and defensive spells though).
Races:
Humans: Humans are everywhere. With a wide variety of appearances and personalities, Humans truly are an everyman race. Unlike the humans of Lamed, the humans of Dalet have devious as a majority.
Orcs: The orcs of Dalet are strong and united. They're about the closest you'll find to a true united faction. Orcs are generally tough muddy green naturally armored individuals who usually try their best to avoid getting involved in the territorial wars between the various Thieves Empires. They have a swath of the desert specifically sanctioned as their territory and due to their ferocity in protecting it, no thieves empire has made a move to try and snap it up.
Lizardfolk: Lizardfolk are lizard-like humanoids with a penchant for all things valuable. That’s why it’s a good thing they live here in the desert of Dalet instead of in Lamed where there's too much order for them. There is a small subspecies of lizardfolk who have chameleon powers, allowing them to shift colors to match their background.
Vampires: Vampirism is rampant in Dalet. No rules and prejudices means vampires are as free as everyone else to do what they want. Not all vampires are evil. They’re just misunderstood. They have pale skin, red eyes, burn in sunlight, and have to drink the blood of the living to survive. However, they do not need just sentient race blood and can easily drink animal blood.
Neko: Neko are cat people who live in the small rainforest in Dalet. They are so far removed from the rest of Dalet that they could almost be considered a separate nation. The Neko live on Dalet because their goddess, Shuno, decided they needed a place to live away from the other races. Thus she created the rainforest of Dalet. However, she was not able to imbue mana back into the land so instead she gave the Neko powerful talisman that would let her chosen shamans use more powerful magic.
Dwarves: The dwarves of Dalet are very much like the Dwarves of Lamed. They live under the mountains of Dalet in underground cities. However, unlike their Lamed kin, the Dwarves of Dalet are not druids. They still grow plants underground but they do so by hand.
Beetlefolk: the beetlefolk are similar to the lizardfolk in that they are a race of humanoid beetles. However, unlike the lizardfolk the beetlefolk have a strong sense of honor, often becoming samurais. Each beetlefolk follows their own code of honor. They also have four arms.
