two people so far dont like discord, so frankly ill just keep it on-site and make it easier on myself.I tend not to use chat clients on my devices,so when participating in RPs I generally keep to OOC threads on-site. If you have to choose between one or the other, don't have to decide on my account.
I actually don't understand why people make the OOC on Discord when the RP is on the site. Like, why make things complicated? We already had an established modus operandi of making OOC threads and linking them to the main. Why try to fix what isn't broken?two people so far dont like discord, so frankly ill just keep it on-site and make it easier on myself.
Speaking from my POV it's for these reasons:I actually don't understand why people make the OOC on Discord when the RP is on the site. Like, why make things complicated? We already had an established modus operandi of making OOC threads and linking them to the main. Why try to fix what isn't broken?
ah, okay. I guess it makes more of a difference if you're accessing things through a phone. I know nothing about phones + internet. The last time I owned a phone, it was a flip-phone. Smart phones were just getting popular. What was that, like 10 years ago? 15? I haven't really kept track. lolSpeaking from my POV it's for these reasons:
- discord = faster chat = you can see whole conversations easily and respond quickly rather than creating long threads = OOC stuff gets resolved much more effectively
- unlike this forum I have it as an app and use it also for real life contacts, some work groups etc, so whatever is posted there I immediately see, whereas here I have to remind myself I have not visited the site yet today
Honored Elder, us young kids like bells and whistles I'm afraid.ah, okay. I guess it makes more of a difference if you're accessing things through a phone. I know nothing about phones + internet. I do have a Discord account. But I got it before they were mobile accessible. Imo, Discord is really overrated. and all the extra gimmicks they keep adding just keeps me from wanting to get back into it. It's like, what IS all this needless crap? Apparently, they've never heard the adage of "Keep it simple, stupid"
i would ADORE a faceclaim with as much realism as can be mustered, however, in the event that your character idea can't be done justice with such, a description alone will do, yes.
«Зря ты это»
- Name: Aleksandr "Sasha" Romanov
Gender/Pronouns: male (he/him)
Physical Description: Sasha's a big boy, but he's got the slightly raw-boned, underfed look of a kid who just finished a growth spurt. While he is muscular it's more in the vein of a dancer's lean muscle, rather than a beefy weight lifter's. He's got a square jaw, a slightly crooked nose, and dirty blond hair that he's started to let grow long to cover a still healing scar on the back of his neck where he removed a tracking chip and the damaged a corp barcode there.
His most notable features are his eyes. His right is organic and a deep brown. The left is completely cybernetic and a bright, unnatural blue. His other cybernetics are more difficult to see, being covered by very good synthetic skin.
- Everyone knows, even as they cut pay and jobs, that Yutani-Kandel is still investing in security for itself. No one knows exactly what that looks like, but rumors fly: state of the art robots and AI? Elite black ops teams?
Nobody wants to guess that it involves kids, brainwashed and augmented and trained to be killers. Sasha doesn’t remember a life before Yutani-Kandel. All he knows is that he spent his childhood being forged into a corp weapon. Whether he was an orphan taken off the street or some kind of vat-grown clone he doesn't know and doesn't care to guess at.
At sixteen, Sasha and several other of his "siblings" participated in their first real mission: support for riot control in the city center, raging around the TK tower. It was the first time Sasha had ever really seen the city outside of the Yutani-Kandel's massive complex of skyscrapers, and it left a very sour impression. He realized that everyone not lucky enough to live in the tower was considered the enemy, even as Yutani-Kandel was starving them to death. And it was going to be his job to kill them whenever they became inconvenient, for the rest of his life.
It took about half a year to plan his escape, and only minutes to pull it off. He had to shut down some of his augmentations, as well as physically remove a tracking chip. Since he left he's been keeping a low profile in the northeast and east sectors, hiding from other corp security and modifying his augmentations to work without being on corp networks. Sasha's been taking gigs as a merc for hire, once he can get people to take someone his age seriously.
Sasha's angry. He's angry at Yutani-Kandel for making him a weapon. He's angrier at them for making a world that needs a weapon like him. He's angry at his siblings for their apathy once they realized what they were made for. And he's angry at the rest of the world and everyone in it for being so full of bullshit.
He doesn’t want to be angry. Mostly, Sasha’s a kind of weird kid who likes tinkering with things. He’s not great at making friends, but he prefers working in a team to being on his own. His anger is a smoke screen to the fact that he's painfully shy and deeply awkward in social situations.
