"Monarch...when you hear the thunder...when the storm...comes for you...remember me."
It's been eight years since the Pacific Federation lost the war to the Cascadian's, a victory that is widely agreed to have been only possible through the aid of Sicario and the Hitman team, headed by Hitman I "Monarch". To say it's been a rough transition in global power is an understatement. After two of Cascadia's major cities were bathed in Cordium fire, the sight no less than Hell on Earth. the Federation limped away like a dog to lick its wounds. The once proud super-power has been hounded by the lesser powers of the world seeking vengeance for the wrongs of this global power, and Cascadia has been willing to back many of these secessionists in an effort to break away. Now, the Federation is a shell of its former self, hollowed out and weak...alive, but sick.

The global map has changed, and Sicario has entered a new dawn of power with the recruits Kaiser managed to find in the span of two months when it looked like the rebels were all but dead. Hitman team, as far as anyone's aware, has gone entirely off the grid. That doesn't stop rumors and ghost stories of some seeing the Crown and his wingmen at some of the most important contracted battles, this is widely dismissed as hearsay. After all, for reasons unknown...hitman team is wanted by Cascadia.

...

...

But the loss of power leaves a void. And someone, somewhere, will always want that power for themselves. And history, for better or worse, will always seek to repeat itself. A group of extremists referring to themselves solely as the Crimson Legion, likely in reference to the long since deceased Crimson Squadron, has seceded from the new-found Mercenary Haven of the world. Their goals, as far as intelligence can tell, is to form a totalitarian state that would bring about a new era of world peace...that sound familiar to anyone? If this wasn't bad enough, they're not satisfied with the several square kilometers of land they laid claim to originally. No, they want more. With their own hired mercenaries, extremist military officers and command, and turn-coat military forces, they've managed to make a frightening cut into Cascadian sovereign territory from the inside out. In the span of three months, two cities have already been lost.

"That's where you come in, mercenaries. Sicario is out on contract on the other end of the globe, so we're the best Cascadia can buy right now. Rose Squadron is a newer military outfit that formed in the power-gap that the Cascadian Conflict left in the world. Federation deserters, Cascadian nationals, whatever mercenary worth his salt that wasn't contracted with Sicario all ended up here, based out of Good ol' Cascadia. We've been hired on to assist in taking care of the rebels, and the money's good so no one's complained so far. If you're not interested, you're free to end your contract here and find work elsewhere, best of luck to ya. For the rest of you, you'll be organized into a single squadron. Some of you are a little wet behind the ears, but I'm sure it'll be fine."

Disclaimers, rules, clarifications, etc etc...
Big ol Disclaimer: While I am no stranger to GM'ing, be it at a table or a written story (And have been more than happy to do so for half a decade now), this is an entirely new spot for me to work with. I've never written a mil-sim sort of story before, but the Project Wingman storyline was so well done and masterfully crafted, as both a fighter-jet game and a slow descent into the knowledge that war is indeed hell, I figured I'd give this a shot. I am not a mil-sim buff, and I'm casual at best. If that doesn't deter you, I'll take the constructive feedback any joiners may present, and I'll appreciate you joining me on this ride. The story itself is expected to be bouts of intense and somewhat technical action, with chances for people to bond and interact on the ground, away from the front lines.

If you decide to sign your name on the dotted line: You'll be a part of PMC force called Rose Company, still rather fledgling, as members of Wildcard Squadron. The aforementioned squadron is named due to the fact it's compromised of the most skilled and varied talents Rose Company has on staff, and as everyone knows, a wildcard is 'good for any situation'. Where Sicario had bark to pair with its bite, this company is a handful of veterans, skilled mercs, and talented rookie's. It'll grow with the story, but for now, don't overwork the limited pit crew.

Rules and expectations
1.
Communication is key! We're all going to be doing this fun, and as I work full time for a living I'd be a hypocrite to say 'post every day'. With that said, if you need a hiatus or to step away, that's a-okay. Just give your writing partners (or just myself) a little heads up. I'll work with you if life gets in the way and you can't commit to writing anytime soon, and that way no one else gets held up in a scene and the story can progress.
2. None of us are writers for a living. Unless you are, in which case, that's pretty amazing! But in theory, anyone can craft a paragraph at bare minimum, and that's what I'd request as a minimum post size. I'm not going to be insane about it and rule it with an iron fist, but at least give your writing partners something of substance to work with. Sometimes a scene doesn't need a lot said, othertimes you can write a novella. But as long as there's enough substance to continue the scene, why get strung out about it?
3. Respect to yourself, and others. This is a pretty big one, no one wants a hostile environment. This is a hobby, no one wants to be put down for doing their hobbies. A lot of people use this as a way to relax from a long day of this or that. Healthy environment sort of thing for all parties OOC.
4. Means of communication. Not so much a rule, and just a thing to keep in mind. I can make an OOC thread if this gets off the ground, but really Discord seems to always work better thanks to real time communication and other options. With that said, majority rule and all that.

I'm not expecting a whole lot of takers, but I'm also mainly seeking a small group of people who'd be interested in this sort of thing. Again, I must admit I am not a die-hard junky nor will I know everything, but I'm hoping to get enough attention that this will get a chance to get off the ground. Just bear with me as I learn the best way to host this, yeah?

I'm willing to join you in waiting for this to take off.

Happy to have you then, and respect the pun. That makes four people, as two haven't openly said anything. I'd constitute that as enough to get CS up's either this evening or in the morning.

Sheet's template is up, for those it may concern. Like Specialist Specialist and CatJones CatJones

Also, these, if you need them.

Giving this a bump for the morning. There are three other's I know will be joining, just a case of getting sheets made with them.

I'm interested! I tried making a PW rp not long ago but that didn't eh, take off, so to speak. This looks interesting.

Jackson123 Jackson123 and CatJones CatJones , Both of your characters are good to go, I see no glaring issues to deny them or shoot them down. A Discord I'd up, if you want to utilize it for OOC chatter. Otherwise I can set up a forum ooc channel.

Yeah, I saw the discord server while I was work and forgot about it. I'll join it when I get home tonight.

Awesome! I'll have a sheet up soon then.
You're more than welcome to clean up the CS at its leisure and to your satisfaction. As it stands, I see no reason to shoot it down, so you're good to go. Discord's also free to your utilization if you see fit.
