  • Overview
Outcasts have a way of gravitating toward each other. If that is what you consider yourself to be, of course.

Whether you consider them family or a means to an end; youโ€™re a part of a crew, a ragtag band of misfits to be precise. Youโ€™ve been traveling with this eclectic group for Heaven knows how long. What you do know is that where there is chaos, there are the crew members of the Avius. An immaculately crafted aerospace ship that has been gaining increasingly more notoriety throughout the galaxy for not only its help to diverse, underprivileged civilizations and planets but also the unmissable level of destruction that usually is left behind once the Avius has completed their task. Taking their hard-earned funds back with them to get to the next planet awaiting help, leaving the aftermath of their honest efforts to be cleaned up by the perturbed citizens.

But letโ€™s not focus too much on the minor details, shall we? Letโ€™s get back to why youโ€™re here in the first place.

Now to the unseen eye the lot of you just seem like a bunch of rejects that take on the gritty jobs that no one wants to do, but you know that you all are so much more. Most of you have a purpose, a goal you are aiming towards. And this is the platform you need to achieve said goals, whatever those may be. While some others aboard the Avius may have.....more personal agendas that could tread on the nefarious end of the spectrum. And perhaps for some of you, you are just looking for an escape from the life you knew before, a thrill, an excuse to travel across the expanse of the galaxy and see all that you normally wouldn't have been able to back home.

Regardless of what catalyst prompted you to be a part of Avius, your role is an important one here with us. We welcome you to the Avius and look forward to the stories you will bring aboard this journey into cosmic exile.
    roles

    The Founder: Leading the pack is the mildly mysterious, self-exclaimed adventurer. [ C L O S E D ]

The Co-founder: And whatโ€™s a leader without their fellow partner? In this role as co-founder, you are quite literally the right-hand man (or woman) to the Avius group leader. Where they fall short, you know it is your responsibility to pick up the slack. You both share an intertwined history that may seem superficial to those on the outside, but only you and the founder know the truth behind the creation of project Avius. The co-founder has the same authority as the leader when the leader may not be available. [ C L O S E D ]

The Pilot: It should go without saying that every aerospace ship definitely requires a considerably capable and skilled pilot to properly operate such complex and advanced new technology. As the pilot, it is your duty to ensure that everyone within the Avius is getting from point A to point B as safely as possible of course. You and the Navigator typically work in tandem to ensure the best possible course to take when getting where we need to go. [ O P E N ]

The Navigator: Getting lost is no fun, thatโ€™s where you come in, leading the pack in the right direction is your job. You are the group's compass, and they trust that you know the galaxies like the back of your hand. As the Navigator on the Avius, you corroborate with the Pilot to arrange safe routes to take as the crew explores various solar systems. [ O P E N ]

The Mechanic: Sometimes things stop working, and when that happens we need people to fix it. Thatโ€™s where the mechanic comes in, if thereโ€™s an issue with the ship, they are expected to fix it. As the Mechanic you are well versed in all areas, the ship is not your only priority, ensuring that the medical equipment is functioning as well as the weapons stored in the armory. That being said, it's not uncommon to see them working closely with the Weapons Specialist and the Medic. [ O P E N ]

The Chef: Most of the inhabitants of the Avius have stomachs, which means theyโ€™ll need food to fill their bellies. As Aviusโ€™ resident Gastronomist, you ensure that everyone on the ship is well fed. The Chef is highly skilled and known for being able to make a meal with limited resources. The Chef is also fairly versed in the art of Herbology and will offer a helping hand to the Medic when needed. [ O P E N ]

The Weapons Specialist: Even with all the training provided by the Combat Specialist, there are times when limbs and appendages just arenโ€™t enough to protect yourself. Thatโ€™s where you come in, the Weapons Specialist; from crossbows to plasma blasters, you know all there is to know about weapons. Not only that you know how to use them, but you can also use them in ways others didnโ€™t even imagine, and you help your crew learn how to use weapons that best suit them. [ O P E N ]

The Combat Specialist: While the Avius is not necessarily a militant style group it does not hurt to have someone on the team who knows a thing or two about how to quite literally kick someoneโ€™s ass in a multitude of ways. As the combat specialist for Avius, your responsibility is to ensure that applicable persons on board the Avius have some adequate self-defense training in case of a breach or an external attack from outside forces. You should know various methods of defense, as well as styles of combat from other planetary cultures and species when applicable. [ O P E N ]

The Medic: With such a challenging band of unique individuals, including the more dangerous missions the Avius group takes on, of course, medical care will be needed more often than not. As the Medic, you are dedicated to the medical needs of the Avius personnel and perform biomedical research. This role requires more than applying a simple band-aid to a wound, you will need to know the proper procedures of popping a dislocated shoulder back into place, or administering mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, if applicable. The role of Medic is not one to take lately, by personnel or yourself. [ O P E N ]

The Envoy: Every group has its peace maker-so to speak. As the Envoy for the Avius, you are essentially its spokesperson or ambassador. You will need to know how to articulate on behalf of the organization to outside organizations and entities. A primary ability the Envoy should possess is to be able to speak, and or understand different languages from various planets and cultures. It is imperative that the Envoy for Avius has at least a general consciousness of different societal cultures, and their mannerisms to inform the rest of Avius. Do not underestimate the importance of this position as one simple mistranslation, or inappropriate action could spell disaster for the entire team. [ O P E N ]

I already got the perfect character made up for the MECHANIC role, if you'd like to peruse it for consideration.

Edit: I've noticed you've made replies asking to see people's CS. But you don't have a link active for a CS template. Is there something in particular that you'd like us to use for a character sheet layout?

Thank you all for your interested the co-mod Uniko Uniko will be posting the CS today and we will begin accepting applications once the thread has been posted.

Delirious heeeeeeey. joinjoinjoinjoin

Early morning bump! We are still accepting characters! If you love sci-if adventure and character-centered role plays this is the one for you ๐Ÿ’•

Interested, though Ill wait until I see more sheets
you're gonna be waiting a while. The sheets are being submitted by PM and won't get posted until they are approved. And I'm thinking that once someone is approved, well... you obviously won't get the opportunity to apply for that role. SO, probably best to submit that CS sooner than later. js

Early morning bump! Come one come all! Still accepting characters, all of the positions are still open, however no one has applied for the medic, chef or pilot.

Firelie Firelie youโ€™re fine itโ€™s a lot of info in the first post you probably just missed it, but as stated previously the CS are submitted over private message to avoid cluster in the actual CS thread.
