"I'm losing my mind..."

The Ranger trudged through the knee-deep snow, Trying to keep his mind in one piece. Physically, There was nothing wrong with Eight since he was an excellent hunter and tracker. He just likes to have company around, but every person he came across yells such vulgar things and fires weapons at him, So no luck in that.
He looks up as he shivers slightly in his suit and wipes his lenses free of frost from the cold. The Ranger squints as he stares up ahead seeing what he can make out of a small group of houses, seemingly long since abandoned.
The snow underneath his boots crunch loudly as he somewhat waddles nearest the closest house, and steps inside quickly. "Oh, wonderful. Finally, Some shelter." He shook the snow off of himself and began to see what he could find of use inside.

Oh no. Doe immediately stood up and took a gentle hold of Marko’s arm.
“Hey, hey e-everything is fine!” Doe said. He didn’t want a fight; the last thing he wanted was a fight, not in camp and especially not in front of Near. “Take it easy, we don’t need to go startin’ any unnecessary fights do we now?” He asked.
If this stranger had ill intentions, he would have just shot Doe and Near on sight, but he didn’t, and to Doe, that was enough to label him as safe, at least for now, Just because the man didn’t try to hurt them didn’t mean he was completely safe of course, thinking like that would be foolish even for someone like him. He wanted to know more about him before making any decisions.

Luckily, Doe got his wish, He turned his attention to the newcomer, who introduced himself as ‘Arthur Morgan’. He gave Arthur a warm smile, “Doe Langley, its pleasure to meet you sir.” He said, tipping his straw hat in greeting. A bounty hunter? Doe had never met a bounty hunter before, the closest he had gotten was maybe Marlon and Gil from the Adventurer’s Guild back in Pelican Town, but they specialized in Monster bounties. Doe was quiet as he decided whether to tell this man more about his group or just wait until Blaise and Beau returned.
Finally Doe spoke, “Uh, with all due respect, not really sir..” He said, “I feel it would be better if you spoke to Blaise and Beau yourself, I haven’t known them very long anyways.” He really shouldn’t go talking about his friends behind their backs to some stranger, if this man knew them, their names should be enough to tell Arthur all he needed.

"M- Blaise. My name is Blaise Wilder." The cowboy responded, fumbling his own name for a moment out of sheer nervousness. "I won't steal nothin' from y'all if you don't take nothin' from me. I'm going to pick up my gun now, alright?"
He slowly picked the revolver off the ground, careful not to make any sudden movements, then holstered it. "We're just looking for supplies in general, we're low on about everything. We bein' my wife and me. The rest of our group is back at camp looking after the kids."
He glanced around the train car, noting that Beau was right, there weren't any emergency brakes back here. Damn.
"We're tryin' to stop this train so we can get supplies off. We got a wagon not too far, too. Should be near the sharp turn in the tracks, we gotta get it stopped by then. Yer welcome to stay with us if ya'd like. There's safety in numbers. Who are y'all anyways?"

FennorianMentions: Same as Blaise
Fennorian nodded his head in greeting to Blaise, formal and polite as always.
"Fennorian of House Ravenwatch, though, I suppose that last part doesn't really matter anymore." He responded, before taking the Restoration Staff off his back in preparation for a potential fight.
"If the guards aren't already waiting for us they will be soon. I suggest we hurry and find a safe way off, or help Blaise in stopping this train. It seems to have picked up speed from when we first got on."

Heidi turned to Danny when he spoke and nodded. "Yeah, we've probably overstayed our welcome, huh?" But she didn't get a chance to say much more before the conversation moved on. She too put her sidearm away and turned back to Blaise and Fennorian. "I've got what I need unless something unforeseen comes up," she told him. Perhaps Fenn had been with her long enough to realize that, for Heidi, that almost certainly meant I have gathered several pounds of what I need, a few more of things I might need, and then another ten pounds of things I think might come in handy, but is ultimately probably junk I will not be using. Not that she realized that; such was the way of it with Heidi Holloway. She paused and looked off to her left, thinking for a minute. Blaise had a point. Safety in numbers. And she was the lone adult escorting a handful of kids -- and she was anything but a parent. Each of them were capable, yes, but she was certain too that they'd all thrive more readily with other people, and based on what Blaise told her, they could use people like Heidi and Fenn to help with supplies, gathering, and using resources efficiently. Besides -- they had a wagon, he said.
"Okay," Heidi began, squaring to Blaise again. She took a moment to put on her best authoritative, Last Ranger, Responder sort of air. She stood up straight and nodded. "We'll help you stop this thing and join your crew if these boys here don't have any objections." She gestured to Fennorian and nodded at Sonic and Danny. "How's that sound?"

Near turned his head slightly so he could look at Marko from the corner of his dark eyes when the man appeared, intent on protecting him from harm. He reminded Near of Rester in that way, and again he took a moment to allow himself to miss his caretaker, but he couldn't dwell on it at the moment. "We're alright, Marko," he told the bigger man. "He doesn't seem to want to hurt us."
Doe seemed to trust this Arthur Morgan, and as Near worked on his Rubik's cube, he click, click, clicked another layer into place, carefully unscrambling it til once again he reached the final layer. A bounty hunter, he said. But to whom did he intend to turn in a bounty? Was there anyone left to turn one in to? Perhaps so. But that would imply Mr. Morgan had a firm understanding of the local settlements, who had money, who wanted who dead or jailed. Such justice systems wouldn't surprise Near out here. If that's the case, he reasoned, then he could be useful for determining where to go to get what we need, as long as no one in our group has a bounty he wants to take. Near was fairly sure he had nothing to worry about. No one had any particular bone to pick with him, as far as he could tell. Doe certainly wasn't what one would call a hardened criminal, and Marko seemed fairly reliable and level-headed. Beau and Blaise presented questions. But they had never mentioned being part of the gang Mr. Morgan was after... He could be lying, too. Near couldn't discount that possibility. Lying monsters are a real nuisance, his mentor had once said. If he was lying, then he likely had entirely separate goals, and clearly, he'd feel not killing the caravan would aid those goals, or perhaps he simply wasn't particularly violent. But why would he be looking for a gang of outlaws if he wasn't looking for a bounty, and wasn't violent? So either he was a bounty hunter, like he said, or... he's dangerous. But then, bounty hunters typically were dangerous anyway.
The clatter of his cube stopped abruptly just two turns from completion. It didn't look so close to complete, but it would all fall into place. Things were often confused and scrambled until you reached the conclusion. He instead went to playing with his hair. "If it's all the same to him," Near began again, a bit louder now and with a surprising tone of authority -- as if this child expected the adult men present to simply comply with his wishes without question, "I'd like for Mr. Morgan to tell me more about his bounty hunting, if he wants to stay and talk to our colleagues. Here, Marko; finish this, please." He held the cube out to Marko and instead looked up to stare over Arthur Morgan's shoulder.

"it's just me and my husband. Anyone else isn't with us."
Beau thought for a moment, they couldn't offer anything of substance, really. They had no money or connections out here, "We can offer you freedom, we don't got any money or power, we're just tryin' to survive out here and figure out what's goin' on. But imagine bein' free to make your own choices without worryin' if you're gonna get a paycheck or not." She offered, trying to at least sound confident in what she was offering the other woman, not too keen on becoming an origami crane at that moment. "Just help me stop this train and you'll never have to answer to a rich man again."

The soldier paused, seeming to mull this over in her head. She knew as well as her employers that a single failed op meant that whoever undertook the contract incurred significant penalties, or even expulsion if the target was valuable enough. Yet, this was a chance to repair her reactor. Unless... The Spartan sighed, sounding more like a short static huff than anything else. Wordlessly turning around, she began to head toward the conductor's cabin. If Beau followed (or observed) from a short distance, she'd see the cabin of the control room ripped off its hinges with a single pull as the soldier strode in, picked up the conductor, and quite literally threw him off the train. She stood inside the cabin, looking back to Beau as she deadpanned: "I imagine you would know how to operate these controls." After all, Civilians were skilled in this kind of thing, right? Boss issued a silent alarm; changing direction with a displeased huff as he went along with this new plan. 'Sam, you have about five minutes until the train reaches the city outskirts.'

Her silence acknowledged Boss's warning as she waited for this civilian to operate these controls. The conductor was a liability- perhaps this woman could do his job better. She spoke up once again. "Five minutes until we reach the city outskirts."

Sonic the Hedgehog -

"Well, I suppose that numbers can be a good thing when in an unknown world. Maybe, if we work together, we can find a way to get back to where we came from, providing that the worlds aren't already in ruins... Yeah, that sounds alright to me, Heidi. What about you, Phantom?" Sonic asked, referring to Danny by his superhero last name.

"If he objects to me calling him that, I might remind that he's had worse nicknames. Like Inviso-Bill." Sonic thought, struggling to keep a straight look on his face.

Once he was able to shake off his laughter, Sonic turned his attention to Blaise.

"I'm Sonic. Sonic the Hedgehog." Sonic said, introducing himself with a nod.

Daniel Fenton/Phantom -

Danny nodded, agreeing with Sonic, Heidi and Fenn. He chose to not comment on the fact Sonic didn't call him by his first name, reminding himself about how he told Sonic that godawful nickname he had before the town of Amity Park gave him before he reminded them his name was Danny Phantom.

"Agreed. There is currently strength in numbers, and I don't get the impression that one can survive very long on his or her own. Wait, did you mention that you were with your family?" Danny asked, finding it odd that a man ended up here with his family, especially when everyone else seemed to end up here on their own in the first place.

"My name is Daniel. The last names I go by are Fenton or Phantom, depending which form I am in. But, just call me Danny." Danny added.

Arthur Morgan -

Arthur was thrown off about Near's tone of voice. He wasn't used to taking orders from a kid, or at least he looked like a kid to Arthur. But, he decided to go along with it, especially if there was a chance at finding Dutch, or anyone else from the Van Der Linde gang.

"Well, what do you want to know? I gotta start somewhere, but I need more details on where exactly to start." Arthur replied.

Fenn paused, grimacing at the mention of sticking together. Groups were... difficult for him, at least when it came to mortals. The temptation, and all. But then his mind drifted to the last time he acted alone, down in Blackreach. He had gotten jumped, kidnapped, and then tortured. He was lucky his friends managed to find and rescued him before he died...
He shuddered, suppressing the memory before turning his focus back to their group.
"... Y-yes, I do believe we should work together."

Blaise WilderMentions: Same as above + Hawke. Hawke. (Beau, mentioned)
Blaise paused at the mention of his family, rubbing the back of his head.
"Well, not all of it, just my wife. She went ahead to get the train stopped. My son and the rest of our posse are missing... Haven't seen them since... since we got here..." He ended in a mumble, before shaking his head.
"We need to get moving. I don't wanna leave Beau alone fer long. Knowing her, she's found trouble."

Beau - interacting with Samus Specialist Specialist

"Wow, really? that easy huh?" Beau was skeptical, of course, watching Samus as she walked towards her and around to the brake. "Sure, yeah, we used to steal these things all the time." She examined the controls for a moment, they seemed pretty simple. "...It should just be... this." She grabbed one of the levers and pulled, and pulled, and put her whole weight on it. But It wouldn't budge. Finally, after quite a bit of effort she heard a snap and when she looked down at her hands she felt her heart skip a beat. "Oh fuck that's not good."
Now with no brakes, they were hurtling along towards not only the city outskirts but towards a sharp turn. "We gotta get the others, come on! this train ain't stoppin' now!"

Samus watched as the Civilian approached the train, found the break, and snapped the lever off its hinges trying to get the thing to budge. Mentally facepalming, she egressed out of the conductor's cabin and began moving down the hall, all the while quipping and sounding quite leisure about the newly created ballistic train of death. "I suppose it would be for the best. Grab what you can, and roll with the fall." The onyx-tinted Spartan then took a metal supply crate from a nearby stash, and slung it underneath her left arm as she walked through the cars. "Where is the rest of your group. You said it was just you and your husband."

Marko felt Doe's hands on his arm and he stopped, looking down at the farmer for a moment before he looked back at Arthur. A displeased sigh left his nose and he pulled away from Doe and sat down by Near, giving Arthur a very uneasy look. He rubbed his bicep as Arthur explained himself, then glanced down at the fire. He really wished he wasn't here. He was so used to being on the run that he struggled to trust others, but... he guessed that these ones--Doe, Near and Arthur--were not like that of the ones back home. They did not actively seek him out to kill him. They did not want him dead. Near handing him his weird cube thing that he had been playing with caught Marko off guard, making him hesitate before he grabbed it.

"Finish it?" He questioned, voice incredibly quiet. He looked down at the cube and rotated it in his hands, confused as to what it was.

Could it have been some sort of...secret box? If you got the combination right, it would open in half and reveal some age-old secrets that would lead you through a journey of the ages? Marko scoffed. There was no way that was correct. He doubted it. Those were only in movies, and to have that opportunity just handed to him seemed so other-worldly. He decided to just hold the cube, confused as ever, yet ever so tempted to play with it. If it was a cube that held something inside, then what was he waiting for? He could solve it and then get whatever was hidden and they'd be able to go on an adventure.

He jumbled the cube, brows scrunching as he focused.

Heidi finished zipping up her bag and slinging it over her shoulders as the three boys discussed and agreed. She lifted her head just enough to look at the others from under the wide brim of her ranger hat out of that black-eyed gas mask, and nodded. "Great," she said cheerfully. "Pleasure working with the pair of you." She had to admit she liked the sound of it that Beau might get into trouble if they left her alone too long. Sure, it might scare the hell out of Fenn, but she liked the idea of an impulsive, action-oriented woman in their midst. She turned to look out the windows. Slowly but surely the freight train was picking up speed rather than stopping. "I think it's time to split," she decided. Then, she turned back to the small computer strapped to her wrist and started fidgeting with the dials til a radio station came out of the static, playing music. Flash, bam, alakazam -- I got a look at you... "Oh! Nat King Cole, this is one of my favorites! Right. Let's get your wife and blow this joint."

As Arthur processed Near's behavior and responded, the kid had turned back to his backpack and began sifting through its contents until he paused in his movements. Then he took the whole back and scooted over to sit in front of a large, flat rock near the fire. He pulled out bags of dice and carefully started stacking them in foundations, some 6x6, some 4x4, and a few in odd shapes. "I'd like to know who you plan on turning the Van Der Linde gang in to," Near told him. "Where are they right now? Your employer, not the gang. You wouldn't be asking us if you knew where the gang was, after all."
Of course, Near didn't really care all that much about who was employing Mr. Morgan, if anyone at all. He really didn't even care if he was actually a bounty hunter. His primary concern was whether or not Beau and Blaise were in immediate danger, and finding out if Arthur Morgan was safe to be around. He certainly made no effort to sound like he cared, either; his flat, unengaged tone gave that much away immediately -- but then, Near sounded like that most of the time.

Blaise WilderMentions: Hawke. Hawke. (Beau) Sleipnir Sleipnir (Heidi) Seabiscuit Seabiscuit (Danny and Sonic)
Blaise nodded and picked up the nearest unopened crate he could carry. He didn't forget they needed supplies, and that it was the whole point of being on this train. Which was surprising, because he didn't have a good track record with remembering things.
"Let's go. I think she'd have made it to the engine by now. It's kinda worrisome that the trains gotten faster instead of slowed down."
He then proceeded to head towards the next car.

FennorianMentions: same as above
Fennorian hesitated as Blaise passed by him, glancing towards Heidi. He would be lying if he said he understood the bit of technology on her arm, but he'd grown sort of used to it by now. At least enough not to be shocked by it.
"I have a bad feeling about this, Heidi." He warned. Not that he didn't trust Blaise or group up. He just got a bad sense from this situation in general.

Beau grabbed the closest thing to her, not paying much attention as she stuffed it into her bag. Samus' comment made her pause. Right, they were gone. "Sorry, guess I just haven't gotten used to it bein' just us. But we don't got time for that story." And she hoped that Sam wouldn't bring it back up, she wasn't gonna ask for her whole tragic backstory. Not yet anyway. That was a conversation for when they weren't on a train that was quickly picking up speed.
She brushed past Sam, headed towards the other end of the car and out the door, climbing back up onto the roof of the train. It would be easier than pausing to shove past any guards, they didn't have a moment to spare here as the train sped towards the city outskirts. above the group a small set of footsteps would resound within the car, swiftly followed by the heavy, dent inflicting stomps of Samus. Beau swung herself down and landed in the doorway behind Blaise, "Blaise! come on! we- who are they?!" Instinctively the woman grabbed her revolver, as if she wasn't outnumbered here.

Samus watched as the woman scaled the rooftop, most likely to survey the distance as she watched the yellow dot on her motion sensor move in the opposite direction toward the caboose, then suddenly vanish. She didn't hear any gunshots, yet regardless began to follow where the yellow dot had headed. Ducking through each compartment, she readied her M6G Magnum into her hands; knowing full well the MA5C was too bukly to be wielded around inside the train. Opening the door of the second to last car compartment with a pull, she ducked her head in to see perhaps the strangest sight since arriving here weeks ago.

Six people were inside the car- if that blue rodent could be counted as a person. These were the Raiders she was now helping, no doubt. As quickly as she'd drawn her weapon into her hands, she near-instantly secured it to her hip. The seven-foot-four tall supersoldier's helmet just barely made contact with the ceiling of the cabin as she identified the woman from earlier, and noticed the civilian's stance was now one of caution. Clearly, she didn't expect anyone else to be present either- or did she? Was this an ambush? Samus pushed the thought to the back of her mind and piped up. "Grab what you can and get off the train. Now." Introductions could wait, and as far as she knew they didn't exactly have much time left since the break failure. The red visor of the Spartan was angled up to look the Civilian in the room with a light nod, clearly an attempt to signal that she was being placed in command of the bunch. Alternatively if they were stubborn enough, Samus could just bulldoze them off.

"Beans!"

The Ranger cheered to himself happily as he danced around with a can of 'Bush's Baked Beans'. "Yes! Yes! I found food!" He then stuffed it into his satchel, before his ears were met with the sound of a gunshot outside. "Shit, Must not be that all abandoned then." Eight snagged his rifle up, before proceeding to the window to get a peek at who fired that bullet out there. He could make out a dark silhouette in the blizzard, slowly approaching the worn and torn home. The Ranger raised his rifle, and squeezed the trigger. A loud booming sound was heard, somewhat masked by the howling of the blizzard, before the bastard outside had his head and neck ripped off of his torso. "Ouch."

Sonic the Hedgehog -

Sonic usually wasn't one to be ordered around so easily, but as he felt the train pick up speed under his now beat-up red shoes, he understood that this wasn't necessarily a situation where he could be a smartmouth. A flash of blue was seen as Sonic looked for anything important that he could take off of the train.

"Do you see anything that can be of use, Danny? Or anyone for that matter?" Sonic asked, standing at the edge of the open train car, ready to jump out.

Danny Fenton/Phantom -

Danny shook his head, both answering the blue hedgehog-thing's question and in disbelief. He couldn't believe what just happened. They were fine until more idiots showed up.

"I don't think that we have the time anymore. Not everyone is as fast as you, Sonic." Danny answered, positioning himself beside Sonic, ready to jump out and waiting for the signal to jump.

Blaise whipped around as he heard someone behind him, surprised to see his wife. But more importantly, she was ready to shoot their new allies. "Hey, it's fine! They're gonna join us! Don't shoot 'em!" He quickly tried to calm her down, looking between everyone. A lot was happening way too fast.
"Did you manage to pull the brake? We need to stop the train so we can get off. You know how dangerous it is for me to jump off stuff like this."

Heidi looked back over her shoulder when the Spartan approached. For one short moment, her hand hovered near her own gun, but the woman with her appeared to be Blaise’s wife, Beau, so the gasmasked ranger did nothing except swing her bag over her shoulder. She tone with which this other woman took charge rubbed her the wrong way a bit — Heidi, after all, was not a personality prone to following chains of command. But now was hardly an appropriate time to dwell on that, so she grabbed a few cans of tuna and a bag or two of marshmallows and went to the door, staring at the ground. “I doubt she’s stopping,” Heidi called back. “We’d best go now. Tuck ‘n roll, boys.”

Of course, not everyone here was a boy.
But Heidi didn’t correct herself before she took her leap and let herself be sent skimming over the frosty ground til she came to a stop.

woof.
Pleasant? No, but it was about what she had anticipated. She laid there for a moment to recollect her senses as the sky slowly stopped spinning to and fro above her. Then she stood up, checked her bag, her weapons. She found her Stetson — the hat had taken a tumble when she went rolling. She put it back on and watched for the others to jump.

The Spartan took two large crates, one labeled 'MEDICAL' and the other labeled 'PROVISIONS'- and secured them underneath each arm as she quite literally manuvered past everyone else, broke into a running start toward the back and leapt over the caboose railing. Almost instantly upon coming into contact with the snow, it was as if the Spartan was standing in place; skidding on both feet as she got farther and farther from the moving train. Once she'd stopped, the Spartan turned around and began to calmly jog toward the train; obviously waiting for the others to jump off so they could reconvene in a location not too far from where they'd all land in the snow.

Sonic the Hedgehog -

"Stop, drop and roll..." Sonic said, before jumping from the the train. While he was in mid-air, he tucked his body into a ball, and rolled down the hill from the train tracks, mild cursing coming from him as he hit objects in the process. When he finally slowed down enough to safety uncurl, he did, and ended up a little ways from Heidi and face down in the snow.

"I'll be feeling that for a few days..." Sonic said, rubbing his head as he pulled himself into a sitting position.

Danny Fenton/Phantom -

Danny closed his eyes, changing into his ghost form and taking off into flight from the train. He opened his eyes as he felt his feet leave the floor of the train car, and he soon landed without difficulty next to Sonic, changing back into his human form after landing.

"Well, probably the least painful landing we've had so far." Danny said, glancing back at the train to watch the others.

"Is that a...working train?! And train muggers?"

The Ranger watched the group from a distance, with his scope, of course. "The hell...?" He questioned himself as he saw some type of blue ball speed from the train and into the snow. Seemed like some of them were jumping off the train and moving forward on the train tracks, Most likely to regroup. He doubted they would, Train muggers would usually split up once the job was done, but this seemed...different.
Looks like he would have to move forward, and start asking questions later. His cape waved wildly in the bitter wind as he moved forward slowly.

"Yep! pulled it right off," Beau said, grabbing Blaise by the arm and turning him towards the back of the train where the others had leapt off before running after them. Jumping off of trains was something they did fairly often, so without hesitation she jumped, only thinking about the consequences when she landed rather heavily on one shoulder. She got up slowly, brushing off snow and looking around for Blaise and the others. "Is everyone off?"

"You what?!" Blaise exclaimed, now deeply concerned on how he was supposed to get off. Normally when they robbed or hijacked trains they'd slow it down or stop it so he could safely get off. But this train was picking up speed. Blaise looked around for a moment, unsure of himself before ultimately deciding he would have to jump. He threw the crate he was holding first, hoping nothing inside it broke, and jumped soon after. He covered his head with his arms and curled in on himself as he did, which caused him to hit the ground hard on his back and sending him rolling. When he finally stopped moving, he let himself unfurl, gasping for the breath that was knocked from his lungs when he landed.

Fennorian was quick to depart the train right after Heidi, using his mist form as a way of easing the fall. He rematerialized next to her, standing on two feet as if he hadn't just jumped from a speeding train.
"Are you alright, Heidi?" He asked, glancing her over for possible injuries.

Sonic the Hedgehog -

The lovable yet cocky hedgehog pulled himself to his feet, still holding his head. He had been worse falls than his latest one, but that didn't change the fact that Sonic was currently seeing at least two of everything.

"Probably not the best time to ask me if to look at the surrounding area right now to see that everyone made it. I'm seeing at least two of everything." Sonic said with a groan.

Danny Fenton/Phantom -

"I think so. Is everyone alright? Nothing broken?" Danny asked, casting Sonic a concerned look as the hedgehog mentioned seeing at least two of everything.

Suddenly a shiver ran down Danny’s spine, and he knew that it wasn't just the low temperatures that caused the shiver. A light blue mist emerged from his mouth and the teenage halfa automatically tensed, scanning the others around him.

"Someone, or something around here is a ghost. My ghost sense wouldn't be going off otherwise." Danny thought.
