Ever since the Earth began there has been tragedy and disasters. A more recent addition to these disasters is the agency that investigates the strange survivors of these incidents. Death by elemental disaster was creating people with amazing abilities that related to the manner at which they were killed. Ivy

Even after three months being stuck in this windowless apartment with no memory Ivy still couldn't sleep properly. She laid there most nights just staring at the ceiling trying to recall her memories. Hell, even her name would have been useful. Most of the time all she dreamed about was a heavy, freezing sensation all over her body. It was suffocating. And just like every other night she woke up in a cold sweat, her bed a sleek sheet of ice. "Dammit..." She sighed quietly and looked at the time. 5 in the morning. Her head was pounding. Her slim 5 foot figure slid out of bed and looked back at her frozen sheets with a sigh. Quickly she took the sheets off and shoved them in the laundry bin.

After an ice cold shower Ivy tossed a black pair of shorts, a black tank top, and a black zip up jacket over her ghostly pale skin. She pulled up her silver up into a loose bun and walked to the common area to the hanging calendar. She marked off another day on the list. Although they didn't ever get to leave she still marked down her days there in the apartment. It was nice to know what time it was and what day it was.

When she first woke up she couldn't remember anything. Scientists came in and told her that she was in an accident. Something happened to her that made her able to do the things she could. She was deemed a danger to herself and others, they took her for observation. They provided everything for her, unfortunately she never got to leave. They didn't know her name so she was given a number. 2001. Thankfully not too long after she got there she got a neighbor, 2002. He didn't like the fact that they were numbers so he started to call her Icy.

With another small sigh Ivy walked inside the kitchen so she could start making everyone breakfast like she did most mornings. The smell of eggs, bacon, and french toast soon filled the air of the apartment. "Guys, breakfast!" Ivy sat at the table and picked at her eggs with her fork.

Brenna

Number 2007, also known as Ember. The girl had been here for a week and already she was going crazy. Why? She didn't know. She had all the books she could read, the silver haired girl made her meals, her life was set. It bothered her that she had no memory of her past though. What happened to her? Why was she here? They explained how people like her were dangerous. Hell, she didn't know what she was. Why was it dangerous? She could handle her powers...sort of. They had a few fire extinguishers around the apartment just in case. A few books, blankets, and remotes were burned because of her. Her powers clearly weren't emotion based. They came at random, she had no control of them.

The gorgeous red headed blue eyed girl looked up from her bed when she heard a voice mention breakfast. Brenna had already been up for a good while. She sat underneath her comforter with a flashlight so she could see her book, trying her best not to wake her roommate. She tried to ignore the call but her growling stomach made her sigh. "I guess..." She pulled the comforter off of her head and stepped out of her bed. She stretched her 5'6" modelesque frame and tied her long wavy locks in a loose ponytail. She slipped into a pair of black sweats, a white tee, and black socks before heading out to the kitchen. "Thanks for cooking." She shown a small smile over to the Silver girl before putting some food on a plate and sitting in front of her. She picked at her eggs and took a small bite, looking over at one of the calendars. "It's been a week already. Huh." Her voice had a heavy German accent, though she didn't know where her accent came from. All she knew was she didn't sound like the others around here.

The girl across from her was the first person out of them to be there. She didn't know how she was still so chipper about everything, Brenna wanted to bust out of that locked door and find out where she came from. She felt like a stranger in her own body, she just wanted to know about herself.

Dean

The Scientists were right about Dean being dangerous. The endless tests they had him do pissed him off, a dangerous green mist emitted from his nose. Dean himself survived, unfortunately the scientist in the room with him did not. He had no memory of who he was, where he came from, or what his name was. They called him 2002 and stuck him in a windowless locked apartment. Dean was a very serious yet caring man, he wasn't going to call a lady a number. They came up with nicknames for each other. He ended up being called Mist.

At first he didn't get irritated when it was just the two of them. As time went by more people came, and that meant a tighter living space. Eventually 8 people resided in the small living area they shared. Thankfully they had a small training room. A few dummies, a brightly lit room, a treadmill, weights, and even a few plants.

By the time he finished wiping off the bench he heard Silver call for breakfast. He wiped a bead of sweat off of his forehead and pushed back his slowly growing dark brown hair. The 6'2" toned, muscular, heavily tatted man took a long drink of water before he walked out to the kitchen. "Thanks, kid." He grabbed a plate and started to eat his food quietly. Working out was the only way to get out his frustrations so he usually worked out before breakfast and after dinner. He was sure the others wouldn't die from his mist but he didn't want to risk it.

He glanced up at the clock and the calendar with a loud sigh. "They come today for an inspection, don't they?" The scientists came and tested their powers. They didn't provide them any useful advice or tips. At some point Dean just stopped asking questions. He still breathed mist and he was still a danger. Dean would be stuck there for the rest of his life.

Hyun

A green sapling rose from the soil of the small pot Hyun held. He focused on the dirt and the seed buried inside and he willed it to grow. How did he do it? He'd never know. They never really explained what happened. They didn't explain who he was, either. They just told him he was in an accident. Dangerous, they said. Hyun couldn't do much like the others. Silver froze things, Ember burned things, and Mist? He heard he could kill things with his breath. 2006 grew things. How was that dangerous? They nicknamed him Blade. It sounded intimidating but it stood for a blade a grass. Honestly it was embarrassing.

He could hear the call of breakfast and he let out a sigh. That meant it was just another day stuck here. He craved to be in a field of grass. It was a strange feeling but he felt so connected to the earth. Was he like this before? "Ugh." He shook his head and pinched his nose. Every time he thought too hard about it he got a splitting migraine. It's like his brain didn't want him to remember.

Quickly he shook off the feeling and stood to his 6'0" stature and ran a hand through his pushed back raven hair. He threw on a grey tee and a pair of black jeans paired with black socks. He walked out to the kitchen area and smiled at everyone. "Morning all." Everyone here spoke English. Hyun had the memory of a few different languages, thankfully he was able to communicate with everyone. That made it easier. "Breakfast looks great." He grabbed a plate and sat down at the table before he took a few bites.

The mention of the inspection made him groan. Hyun had an idea that if they all faked that they lost their powers they could leave, but he didn't think any of them would be capable of faking it. The scientists knew their triggers and how to activate their powers it seemed. If it worked they could all go home...

Mia

Every time Mia fell asleep she dreamed of that scene in The Wizard of Oz, the one where Dorothy was in the house and could see the contents of the town moving past the window and the witch on the bike? Yeah. For most people it seemed silly but for Mia it got more and more terrifying each time. The things around the house seemed more and more familiar and moved from random things to items that seemed more personalized, though she couldn't figure out why for the life of her. None of them had memories of their lives before their numbers. Mia was 2003, though the others gave her the nickname of Breeze due to her powers over air. It was sad to think about. Everyone here seemed to have memories of strange things, like personality traits and languages but not even their own names.

Mia sat up to the sound of Icy's voice, having been staring at the ceiling for a long while now. The sudden movement caused a gust of wind to swirl around her and lift her hair before it finally died down. Sudden movement and mood changes set hers off. Everyones seemed a little different. Ember was random, Mist was anger based and honestly she wasn't sure about the others. Maybe they were random as well? She turned to watch as her roommate, Ember, moved to the common room. She supposed it was time to join the others... Mia pushed her hair back and pinned it with a bobby pin on each side, the black bob parted down the middle and stopping at her chin. She was wearing a pair of long gray sweats that were large for her tall thin frame so they were tied tightly at the waist. She was wearing a black sports bra on top.

"Smells good." Mia gave them all a gentle smile as she made a plate and perched on the counter with her food. Mist mentioned the inspection and she nodded her head with a mouth full of bacon. "Mhm." She grunted before swallowing the large bite and setting down her fork. "Every seven days I guess. Though I don't know why it matters, they watch us constantly on those things right?" She pointed to the cameras and let out a small sigh. This place had everything they wanted and if it didn't they could get anything they asked for. Still Mia couldn't shake the feeling of being a lab rat... or the pain of not knowing what happened to her.

Quinn

Quinn rolled her eyes as she walked down the hallway with two armed guards on each side of her and three scientists in front of her. Quinn, or 2008 or Shocks as her lovely new roommates referred to her, had been in the apartment for a full 24 hours before she had to be removed. For the past four days she had been in solitary confinement while the scientists did everything they could to get her powers to stop. They seemed to be based on her emotions and man was she a emotional person. Everything was annoying and boring. People talking, chewing, questioning. It all set her off. She hadn't hurt anyone but she was causing lights to flash and break or appliances to turn on and off. It was only a matter of time before she hurt someone, or at least thats what they told her.

Today was her return to the apartment. As they stood outside the door, the lights flickered a bit but nothing too insane. A guard gave her a look and she shrugged. "Hey man don't look at me. You guys haven't trained me well at all I suppose." She snickered and after a few different locks and codes, the door came open and they pushed her inside before closing it. Quinn could hear as each lock reengaged.

"Smells good." Quinn straightened herself out and stood to her full 5'5 frame, her bright yellow hair was pulled half up and half down with her straight bangs hanging over her clean no-makeup face. The ends of her hair reached her lower back and were colored with various colors on the tips. She was wearing a pair of black leggings and a black hoodie with slippers. "Mind if I eat some? They don't exactly feed you well outside these doors."

Trenton

Trenton woke up with difficulty every morning, as if his body wasn’t used to this schedule. It felt almost like some form of jet lag, like his mind was in a different time zone than his body. It was so frustrating to not understand why, they were in America and from what he could tell of himself he was American... so he could be within hours of wherever the hell they were now at the most difference. It also was strange the feeling he got when he looked at Steel , another one of the hostages here. He felt so familiar but no matter what Trenton couldn’t remember a thing about himself. Here he was just 2004, Aqua. Whatever you wanted to call him.

“Shit.” Trenton rubbed the sleep from his eyes and groaned as he heard someone say breakfast. He looked over at the other bed, already empty. Guess he was running behind.

Trenton stood and ran a hand through his sandy blonde curls before pulling on a oversized blue t shirt that made his ocean blue eyes pop and tying the drawstring of his black sweats tighter.

Out in the kitchen he noticed everyone except for Steel. Hell even Shocks was back. “They didn’t just come in here with the rebel here when they dropped her ass off at the door?” He walked passed the others and got a plate of food. “You’d think they would want to get this over and shut us down quicker than they could blink.” He took a bite of food and raised a brow, “I know I’ve said this before but like is this even legal?”

Garrett

Garrett had a elitist attitude about this entire thing, he didn't feel like he deserved to be here, not that any of them really did. But he really didn’t! The others had these strange powers, supposedly Garrett did too. Supposedly he was number 2005 with the stupid nickname of Steel but like... the others could literally CREATE things. Fire, ice, wind, whatever. When Steel looked at a metal object wrong... sometimes it bent. That could be a coincidence! Well sometimes it did more than bend, it would contort itself and change shape but... oh well? How was that even dangerous.

The smell of breakfast made him grumble as he set down the resistance band he had kept hanging on his bed post. Mist was always working out in the mornings and Steel wanted to give the ... weirdo ... some space. He checked himself in a mirror and let out a small frown once again. This place sucked. Something in him itched to be social and have fun but this wasn’t the place, nor the people. Plus something about looking at Aqua made him pissed off.

Steel made his way into the kitchen and sat down in a chair with a thud, not bothering to grab food. His appetite was fucked being in this place. “They’re coming for an inspection?” He rolled his eyes before taking a deep inhale. “We’ve only been here a short time and we haven’t done shit yet to fix this! What do they think inspecting us is going to do?”
