some tidbits to take into account:
>> the apocalypse began 2.5 years ago and lasted 9 months before the military stepped in. your typical zombie, spread by bite virus.
>> cities are fenced/walled off. they have secure areas with tightly controlled gates to check people for infection. outside of cities it is essentially the wild west (lawless).

A few questions here to get me inspired

- Is the virus only spread by zombie bite or can it be through being scratched as well?
- Are these normal slow moving zombies? Are there different types of zombies or just one general kind?
- Are there still phones/internet?
- These gated cities. Are they existing cities that the military managed to eradicate all zombies from? And if so, were all cities saved or are there some that were too far gone and are therefore left deserted?

- we’re rocking with rabies rules on this one: the virus is spread by way of saliva. direct contact via wound, mouth, nose, or eyes will pretty much guarantee infection. infection via scratch is less likely, but can still occur.

- a mixture of both. the most common are your classic walking zombies, some are more slow moving due to decay or loss of limb, while others can be faster. basically, how fresh they are matters. a recent zombie will be as mobile as a normal person and will retain some degree of intelligence up to 48 hours post infection. we’re discussing different variations of zombies, and i think we’re leaning toward yes, but they’re very rare. there are plenty of government pamphlets circulating on what they are and how to deal with them.

- yes, phones/internet still work, but it’s difficult to get a signal until you’re near a city.

- cities are existing ones that have been cleared—plus or minus a district. not every city has been saved and there are plenty that have fallen. we don’t have any specific in mind, so you’re open to pick a few if needed. we’ll get a more defined list going later down the line.
