It was a sun filled day in May. The air was calm and warm. Braythaw stood tall. Taller than usual. Classes finished at around 2 o'clock, and one by one- the students went off back to their dormitories. For they had to prepare themselves for the night to come. The “party of the century”, as it was being heralded.

ALPHA THETA PSI had organised the event a few weeks prior. The party would take place at their frat house. There would be a surplus amount of alcohol ( even though party goers were asked to bring their own ). There would be a foam machine, making the garden look almost like a winter wonderland. They had also recently cleaned the pool and jacuzzi. The inside of the house was to be a city of neon lights- with an old school disco ball in the living room. The kitchen would also have a plethora of peanuts, doritos, and other snacks. ATP also got one of their brothers to go out and buy dozens and dozens of confetti filled party cannons to give to every student who walked through their doors that night.

It truly was set up to be a night that no one would forget, or remember- depending on how much they imbibed.

As the sun set on the small, but bustling, campus-
Danny Clark ( a member of ATP ) arrived outside of the sorority house, ZETA NU SIGMA. He honked his horn and out came his girlfriend Kelsey McCoy. They had planned to go to a secluded spot in The Devil’s Pine before eventually heading to the fraternity house to join their friends and peers.

And they did.

They drove out of the campus and into the pines, that got their name from the fact that ‘supposedly’ a cult of Satanists performed rituals there in the early days of America.
In The Pines, they would find “The Lookout”- an almost cliché clearing in the wood where many students would go to do devilish things to one another.

Danny and Kelsey were both half-naked when they heard the rustling from outside Danny’s car. They cautiously continued until they heard more noise. It was a call for help.

Kelsey pushed Danny off of her and put her clothes back on. She told Danny to drive as she didn’t feel comfortable being here with him. After all, Danny was Avery Lane’s boyfriend before she had disappeared… and Kelsey was her best friend.
Their affair was somewhat scandalous, but they told themselves it was alright because Avery was gone. Some thought she would return, but others ( like Danny and Kelsey ) assumed she was gone for good. The duo mourned for her for a few weeks before they began their escapades.

A third sound came. A scratching sound. It was if someone was outside the car, dragging a knife across its back hood. Kelsey was now panicked. She begged and begged Danny to start the car and drive away. But before he could, a darkened figure appeared outside the window. The figure began bashing said window with a rock. Danny tried to start the car but it, surprisingly, did not. Kelsey screamed at the top of her lungs as the window broke and the figure grabbed her by the hair and dragged her out. The broken glass slicing against her skin.

Danny called after her, in desperation.

“Kelsey.”

“Kelsey?”

“Kelsey!?”

The car started.

Danny immediately begun to drive, but a figure appearing in the rear view mirror seemingly caused him to swerve into a tree.
After lying in his seat for a few minutes- he burst open the door and fell to the ground. He took out his phone to call the authorities but he couldn’t do so. He should of known it wouldn’t work, as The Devil’s Pine had horrible reception. Danny then used his phone as a torch so he could see through the darkness in-front of him.
The light came on and the first thing he saw was that his tires had been slashed.
And then he noticed Kelsey’s body.
“NO!” He screamed as he saw her lying on the gravel, a pool of red around her.
Suddenly the figure appeared next to her. Dressed in a black gown meant for the coming graduation ceremony. And their face… their face was hidden by a filthy white mask that resembled the face of an infant. Danny tried to climb back into his car, but it was too late.
The figure ran to him and stabbed him in the back with a small blade, before then pulling it.

As Danny let out a cry, he used all his might to turn around and face his killer. He raised his hand and pulled the killer’s mask from their face.
“What…” Danny let out a croak, as his eyes grew wide with disbelief.
It was someone he knew. Someone he may have known well. Someone he may have shared a class with once. Someone who may have been going to the very same party at Alpha Theta Psi that night.
Danny let out another cry as the killer stabbed him in the chest. They pulled the knife out. Then pushed it back in. Then pulled it out. Then pushed it back in. Until Danny was lifeless.
His body slid to the ground as blood rushed out of his wounds.
The figure put their mask back on and stood up. The light of the full moon shining on them.

2 Hours Later

The party was in full swing. The fraternity house was packed, and even more students were on their way. The host with the most was Thad Oates III. Helping him were his frat bro’s, Christopher/The Hawk and Lincoln. Fellow frat brothers Ethan and Raphael were also there- trying to enjoy the festivities. Just arriving was another brother, Devlin. The boys were all-in-all enjoying themselves, though the thought of cleaning the house in the morning had yet to breach their brains.
The girls of Zeta Nu Sigma were also there. Hayeon controlled whichever room she entered with her presence. Jennifer was refusing shots of tequila from many of her peers. Regina and Mary were enjoying themselves and enjoying Mary’s weed. And Raven… she lingered in the shadows- not sure what to really do.
The party was hopping. And it would only continue to “hop”.

The night had just begun for the members of Alpha Theta Psi and Zeta Nu Sigma.
But the night wasn’t the only thing beginning for them. They didn’t know it yet but many of them would not live to see the diplomas they would be receiving in three weeks.

Because Avery, Danny, and Kelsey were just the first...

Mary was leaning against the balcony, rolling another blunt for Regina as she explained her plan, moving the oxygen tank to her side to make more room. "So it's really simple, Reggie. I asked a couple of girl scouts if they wanted more money? Told them it wasn't a big deal that some people would say a magic password and they pass my little baggies of compost to the guys and that's that."

Grinning, she took another hit. "Basically, I have girl scouts now selling girl scouts!" She fell back, laughing at her vain attempt for a pun. It was pretty much all she could do, considering she had a name that most people equated with Mary Jane anyhow.

The party itself was kinda lame, but at least she could chill here with a blunt and maybe get some munchies if she felt it. She wondered why Danny and Kelsey weren't here but who knew right? As for Avery well...that was different. Mary missed her other smoking buddy but she figured Avery must have ran off with some douche and was just playing drama queen again. Nothing that Mary would have put past her as she waited to see where the party was heading.

Late.

He came late to the party.

The party being held at his own dorm!

It wasn't really an issue. No one would miss Devlin much. He had no close friends that he wasn't already out with, after all. Sure, some people he was cool with. A friendly conversation normally, maybe he'd bump into a few "brothers" at the bar sometime. But beyond that? Devlin didn't feel much compunction to be on time, he was a host, technically, but it was Thad's party. Devlin just benefited from getting an automatic invite due to living there. Which worked fine for him.

Walking in through the front door, Devlin gave a wave to a few of people he knew. They were friends, like he'd described earlier, not too close to him though. Just people he could chat with. A smile, Devlin politely explained that he needed to go upstairs and change. Mulligan wasn't exactly dressed for a party, not with a dirt covered Metallica shirt and torn jeans. "I'll catch up in a few, Jacob." With the promise given, Devlin rounded the corner and ran up the stairs. A few more waves, a few second long conversation, and Devlin was in his a room. An exaggerated sigh, Mulligan flipped the light switch to see his small space. Just big enough to fit a bed and a dresser in it, with a small closet for storage, Devlin felt like he could get more space in a prison cell, sometimes. "Well. . happens when you take the bare minimum." Mulligan knew there were better rooms. It just so happened he took the economic suite, as the RA had called it, saving him a little on tuition. Looking on the floor, Devlin's lips twisted into a frown. Trash littered it, a few wrappers from snacks he'd had, dirty clothes and more than a handful of crinkled up beer cans. "Gonna just say my room's off limits." Not like Mulligan expected to bring a girl back, anyways. Sifting through the rubbish, Devlin's eyes danced over to the wall his bed was against. Posters of some of his favorite bands covered the beige paint beyond. Metallica, ACDC, Fallout Boys, Iron Maiden, Kanye, Dr. Dre. A little excessive, not to mention they were yellowing, with the edges looking like some bugs been eating them, Mulligan's been meaning to replace them. But there wasn't time to. Shopping was hard to balance between school work, a part time job, and then social activities like drinking. A shrug, the disjointed room bothered him no longer. He had jello shots to down, bottles to break (only after he finished them of course) and a hangover to grab.

Tearing off his shirt, Devlin felt the cold air bombard his upper body. A slight shiver, he fought against it, diving into one of his top drawers to pull out a plain white t-shirt. The man was muscular, it came with working out regularly for the best five or so years, and typically being active outdoors. One of his hobbies, Devlin rarely found himself stuck in places like his room unless it was the end of the night or a friend insisted they wanted to "chill" instead of doing something. Tearing off his pants, the son of the former pro-bowler was quick to replace them. The last thing he needed was a flannel shirt, black and red, which he wore over his plain t-shirt. He didn't go so far as to button it up, that wasn't Devlin's style. A final sigh, the man (or boy, as some called him) grabbed hold of his spray can of deodorant and took a quick "shower" with it. He figured everyone was a little too drunk to notice the thick smell on him, he hoped so at least. "Whatever." A hand ran through his locks of hair before he looked at the door. "Do or die." Mulligan proceeded forward, without another glance at the room behind him, the young man flipped the lights again and exited the room. A short walk downstairs, and Devlin found a Budweiser shoved into his hands. 'Well, ain't about to throw away a free beer.' He told himself. The night was just beginning for the trouble maker, a wide smile on his face as he began some casual conversation with. . 'Cathy.' Or 'Stacey'. Something ending with a 'y' at least. It didn't matter, Devlin was planning on bailing on the convo in a few minutes anyways, see if there wasn't somewhere better to chill at than the bottom of the steps.

Regina chuckled at Mery's plan and took a sip of beer. The party wasn't exactly her thing, the music was nowhere close to what she listened to and the people? Well she knew some but besides Mary there weren't many she hung out with often. As she looked around she could see people getting drunk, dancing or rather doing what was supposed to pass for dancing but in her opinion just looked ridiculous and sighed before returning her attention back to Mary, at least she was interesting compared to some of the people there.

"Well that sounds great, far better than some of the crap I had come up with when I wanted to sell to get some extra money, but it turned out it's not really my thing, I prefer to leave that to those that are more skilled at it than me. Hell I almost got arrested once." she chuckled and took another sip as some people tried to walk past her to get to the bottom of the stairs. Maybe they weren't at the best location they could be at, but to be honest she was too lazy to suggest that they move somewhere else.

Okay so maybe it wasn't exactly her day and she wasn't in the best of moods but as the party went on she managed to distract herself and was getting into a better mood, listening and talking to Mary as well as smoking was just what she needed, well she would have liked a different kind of music but by her third beer she didn't care all that much anymore.

Yawn...

Raphael wasn't enjoying the party, he knew none of the musics they played, they had no non-alcoholic artificial drinks and the loud noise was unbearable, he just came because it was the place he lived in. He was standing next to Ethan, a friend of his, at start he didn't give him much attencion, he was more focused on his phone, reading something related to cartoons, while listening to his own music, which he could barely hear, even at maximum volume. Even though he thought the party was lame, he was pretty entertained reading about the new season of his favorite cartoon, in his other hand was a half-filled can of Ice Tea, which he had bought before entering the party.

But as the party kept going, he started to get bored, even more than before, which he thought was impossible. He had finished reading the article and had nothing to do, desperate for some interaction he decided to talk to Ethan. "Hey Ethan? Have you seen that guy, what was his name... Danny? I was sure he was going to be the king of this party, yet he's nowhere to be seen. Haven't seen his girlfriend either, weird huh?". He drank from his Ice-Tea can, nearly emptying it.

"Oh my god, shut up," Hayeon chirped through laughter. She gave the girl in front of her a playful shove. "He did not say that!"

"Oh, but he did! And if you thought that was crazy, you won't even believe what he said next!"

Hayeon never found out "what he said next" due to the volume of the music, but laughed anyway when the girl's mouth stopped moving -- the alcohol in her system definitely having something to do with that.

Tonight, she felt on top of the world. It was the night she had been dreaming of for as long as she could remember, and the night all her work led up to. It was the result of stroking Avery's delicate ego for years, and degrading herself for even longer. The result of bootlicking, white lies, and careful treading. It was now that all of that paid off. She was finally the person she always wanted to be, in the scene she always wanted to be in -- and it was better than she could have imagined.

As someone else followed up the girl's story with one of their own, she nodded along, however let her eyes wander the rest of the party. She wasn't looking for anything in particular, but her gaze naturally stopped on one head in the crowd. She smiled to herself and held her bottle of beer tighter.

It was him.

She wasn't surprised of course; there was no doubt he would be here. She relaxed her grip before tapping a few members of the group she was in. "Think I just saw Kelsey," she yelled over the music, "I'll see you guys later, kay?" After exchanging a wave or two, she navigated her way out of the room and into the quieter corridor next to it.

A couple stood in the middle eating each other's faces, which she ignored as she pulled out a compact mirror from her pocket. She looked... pretty good, given everything, and was definitely sober enough to make conversation, so she slid the mirror back and headed for her destination.

She felt her heart was pound as she waded through the crowd and skip a beat once she stopped behind his back. Tentatively, she reached her arm out and tapped him on this shoulder. "Hey Chris, is that you? I haven't seen you in ages! We need to catch up tonight!" To the untrained eye, Hayeon was simply pulling her usual coy shtick, however in truth, it was quite genuine this time.

Christopher
Chris was enjoying the party. Together with Chad and Lincoln he made sure everyone had fun. The whole evening he had been walking around, talking to people and flirting with some boys and girls, with some even going further.
He didn't care, much to the annoyance of his other friends who think he should settle down, find a queen and rule the campus like he was supposed to be. Those friends weren't his real friends, if they knew Chris really well, they would know that all of this is just a mask, a stone mask hiding his true self. And the sad thing about this was, noone knew the true Chris.

Only Avery knew, but she is dead now.

Someone approaced Chris while he was flirting with this cute boy, and if there is one thing to make sure you are on the bad side of Christopher is interupting him when he is flirting. The Hawk turned around and looked at the small girl standing infront of him. Chris knew Hayeon since they were kids, they were friends at primary school but later they just nodded at eachother at the hallways. Chris wasn 't sure where all the happiness came from all the sudden, she must have had a lot of alcohol already, not that Chris hadn't, but his liver could resist much.

Maybe this was his queen people wanted to see him with? Hayeon got a reputation, it would certainly work out. In a second Chris put on his fake, but cute smile "Hey Hayeon! We should! How have you been?"
