Hello all, and welcome! I'm Chimney Swift, the author and GM of Cities Never Sleep. Along with the wonderful and talented floralmoon , weldherwings , and Qwertycakes , and our amazing team of brilliant players, we've decided to reopen our RP to a few new faces who'd like to experience our chaotic Slice-Of-Life city!

  Hey all.
  
  First, here's the concept: I'm out here to create a wide-scale, democratically-operated sandbox RP. I'm looking for active, experienced, mature writers to help make this city come to life.
  
  I noticed that most Slice Of Life RPN projects center around wealthy small towns. There’s nothing wrong with that per se, but me? I grew up in a bad neighborhood of a sketchy city. There were no cutesy coffee shops and organic groceries in the city I remember. So I was like, where’s the representation?
  
  In Cities Never Sleep, nostalgia isn’t just a comfort for the wealthy.
  
  So, without further ado, welcome to the fictional city of Joplin, Washington. Be warned: it’s not your little quiet fairytale town, and this story is not going to be pretty.

  ages 14 to 18. The young anklebiters and whippersnappers of Joplin attend Marsha J. Clark High School on the edge of the waterfront district... unless they’ve dropped out and have become one of the city’s teenage mobsters.

  NOTE OF DISCORD
  The RP itself will be hosted on RPN, but all of our community discussions, planning, and plotting will take place on Discord. For this reason, the Discord is mandatory.

  SKIP ALONG NOW
  Like many large scale RPs, Cities Never Sleep will run via a system of skips! We will schedule events, locations, and circumstances for our story to take place in. Every couple of weeks, we'll change the scene. These skips will be devised and voted on by the group.

  SHOW YOUR METTLE
  I expect mature, experienced writers here. Posts should be a bare minimum of 2 paragraphs in length and showcase good technical skill. When dark topics come up in the story, as they inevitably will, they are to be handled sensitively and appropriately. Remember that what's just fiction for you may be very, very real for somebody else. Be respectful of the boundaries and trauma of others.

Chimney Swift is one of the best roleplay gms I've ever had the honor to meet. Kind, considerate, and very funny.

Everyone in this rp is also lovely and patient. Even as a late addition to the rp, I felt completely welcomed.
