McLachlan resort, centered squarely in the McLachlan mountain range, with tons of ski lifts and ski trails and hiking trails and blah blah blah good service blah blah blah luxury resort blah blah blah blah blah. Brayden tuned out the voice on the intercom, playing the message that had been playing regularly since the bus left for what Brayden assumed to be the last time.

After all, they were pretty close, and to be honest, Brayden didn’t care- He was just stoked to be going on a free vacation. He could eat as much as he wanted free of charge, get in some prime exercise, and, best of all, make some new bros. So far, he only had one regret- not packing enough shorts- and he planned on keeping it that way.

The bus rolled to a stop in front of what might’ve just been the fanciest god damned hotel Brayden had ever seen, so he just ogled a bit while he waited for others to load off. When the bus was almost completely emptied, he finally tore his gaze away, standing up and grabbing his bag with a quiet whoop, throwing it over his back as he exited the bus, waiting to be handed his suitcase before making his way towards the entrance.

Yeah. This was gonna rock.

The morning had started out as fantastic. Sarah had donned a great outfit and was ready to roll but she was worried that she hadn't packed enough. There were five suitcases, a backpack and a handbag, all packed to the brim but she still felt that it wouldn't be enough. What if she needed an outfit there that she hadn't packed? After Carol, who was going to be staying at Sarah's house while she was gone, convinced her for the third time that she would be fine without every winter outfit in her wardrobe and she would miss the bus if she kept delaying, Sarah finally set out for her vacation.
Although Sarah didn't feel great about leaving her sick friend alone while she went on a vacation that the said friend won, she managed to keep herself happy by thinking about how much she was going to enjoy. Carol had insisted so much and to be honest, Sarah hadn't taken a vacation in so long, the prospect of taking one now and saving it from going to waste was very inviting.
When she got on the bus, her eyes scanned the seats, looking for a free one as well as some eye candy. She wasn't going to pass up an opportunity of getting to flirt with some cute guys and there were certainly a couple of them on the bus. After all the relationship drama, she was ready to get back to her flirty self. Maybe she'd find someone good enough to fall in love with. Wait. No. She was not going back to that again. Falling in love was a strict no. She was going to flirt and enjoy on this vacation, that's it.
They kept playing the same message on the intercom again and again, it was getting on her nerves. She had wanted to talk to the people who would be staying in resort with her but she was worried about Carol, so she spent the entire trip on call with her, making sure she was alright.
When the bus finally reached the resort, Sarah was awestruck. The resort was unbelievably beautiful and grand. How had Carol managed to win a stay such a luxurious place? This was insane and Sarah was sure she was going to have a lot of fun. If only Carol could be here too.

He packed everything on the list into a duffle bag and a backpack, double checked, got to the bus early, and everything was perfect so far. Nate tried to at least smile at the people who happened to make eye contact with him, like a warm-up to talking to them later. It wasn't until about halfway through the bus ride that the nervous cold feet symptoms set in. Maybe this was a bad idea? It was winter break, Nate could pick up some extra shifts and get his mom something really cool for Christmas. And then she'd scold him for skipping out on the trip of a lifetime, right... Of course, she'd be right. He won the trip and it was all expenses paid. For real and everything, nothing in the fine print. Even if absolutely everyone he met hated him by the end (statistically unlikely, but possible), at least he got a free stay out of it.

Once the bus came to a stop, he took out his headphones and crammed them in the bag, catching the tail end of the message they played at the start of the bus ride too. Couldn't hurt to have a refresher in case you didn't read up on the place, he guessed? He got up, took his backpack with him, and waited by the bus to get his luggage like the others. Heading inside with a few of the other guests, Nate figured, well, fortune favored the bold. Better jump right into this whole 'making friends' thing.

"So, uh." Nate shifted the duffle bag on his shoulder, still working out some restless energy from sitting still on the bus for so long. "Crazy nice place, right? Not usually a lucky guy, but hey, once is pretty cool."

Despite his only friend bailing at the last minute, leaving Caleb in the hands of the public, he couldn't help but feel excited to arrive at the resort. He took his seat, having to shift uncomfortably more than once due to the stranger who sat next to him. When an attractive woman scanned the seats, Caleb instinctively duck his head down. The only thing keeping him occupied during the drive was the view out the window and his phone. He didn't do much on the device, though, nor did he take in the things passing by the window. The prospect of being one of the few unlikely winners of the contest was still mind-boggling to him, and he felt admittedly guilty about going while his friend had to stay behind.

He recited the game plan in his mind once more as the bus came to a stop. Avoid talking to too many people. Relax. Jot down a few story ideas. Maybe take part in one of the events they host there? Caleb took his bag, leaving the bus last. The towering resort, which looked like something exclusively for the richest of the rich, made Caleb drop his mouth without realizing. He knew that the place they would be going to was luxurious, but something of this magnitude?

As he was eyeing the resort, a group had formed around the bus, all waiting for their luggage to be handed to them. Not wanting to squeeze in between so many people, Caleb decided that he would be entering last. He stood a noticeable distance from the crowd, pulling out his phone as he waited.

Rylee lay down on top of her suitcase, trying her damnedest to squeeze it close enough to zip it up. It was a generally average-sized bag. But she was going to be gone for a while and wanted to make sure that she had everything she needed in order to survive the vacation. "Son of a..." Rye mumbled under her breath, trailing off as she finally got the bag to zip shut. Satisfied with her achievement, Rylee dragged the bag out into the foyer of her small apartment and glanced around one last time. Jessica, her cat, would be staying with a college friend of hers. Her motorcycle was safely parked in her garage space. The utilities were put on hold so she wouldn't have to pay extra for what she didn't use while she was gone. For once in her life, everything seemed to be in perfect order to prepare for the trip. Rylee smirked, giving herself a mental high five before moving and locking the door behind her.

A few hours later, Rylee was sitting in a slightly comfortable bus seat by herself, headphones in and listening to a mix of Elton John and Billy Joel. Had she had a real car, not a motorcycle, and the resort hadn't paid for the bus ticket, Rye would have gladly driven to the resort on her own. She wasn't too fond of being confined into a moving vehicle with a bunch of strangers. But it was free, and Rylee, a broke college student, wasn't one to turn down free. Truth be told, she was still incredibly surprised that she won this vacation at all. She didn't even remember that she had entered the contest, chalking it up to one of her late night, drunk internet shopping escapades. She couldn't say she wasn't excited though.

What seemed like hours and several pages in her sketchpad later, the bus came to a halt outside of the large, grand resort that was far beyond what Rylee could have imagined. Sure, she had Google-stalked the place to make sure she wasn't being misled to her own murder or something crazy like that. But, seeing it in person was quite different that seeing it in some pictures on a web page. Rylee hopped up and slipped around the bus to get off as quickly as possible, not wanting to be stuck inside any longer. She ignored the person unloading the bags and grabbed her suitcase herself, immediately stepping a ways away to light up a cigarette. "Well shit," she muttered, a small smile playing on her lips as she looked up at the hotel. Not only was it gorgeous, but it seemed as though there was some definitely attractive people who were also staying there. Needless to say, Rye was excited.

Charlie had drove all the way to the resort. She decided to take herself to the location instead of the resort paying for it.
She wanted to have the time to think to herself instead of interacting with anyone right away.
A nice resort would be perfect for her to get some peace to continue her art.

It was quite grand seeing the place when she finally arrived. The place's beauty wasn't truly important though. It was what would be offered inside. The ability to get away from life would be better for her than trying to work at home.

She sighed when she realized there would be other people here though. Hopefully they wouldn't be disturbing. The last thing Charlie needed was to be bothered during her entire stay.
Not that she minded being around other people. But sometimes people had a level of excitement that she just couldn't keep up with.

She noticed others waiting around for what seemed to be their luggage. She had hers although she wasn't sure where they were supposed to go so she slipped in next to the others quietly, looking at their resort patiently. Perhaps this would be good for her.

Ryan hadn’t packed too much just the necessities…well that and a bunch of his sneakers, laptop, midi keyboard, speakers, snowboard…uhh well, you get the point. Still wasn’t too much, just things he wanted a chance to do just incase this place was a total bust. As the bus drove he listened to music most of the time not wanting to ruin the surprise of what type of people would be on this trip with him, he kept his head down, hoodie on, and kept to himself.

It honestly worked out well and when they were exiting the bus he was amazed at the site of the overly tall building…this was actually a real trip…usually, these things were a fraud…man was he happy he got drunk and signed up. As he looked around more his eyes settled upon some rather attractive looking honeys. he gave a slight smirk before sliding over toward one, she had short chocolate in colored hair and she was shorter than him by what seemed to be a whole foot but that didn’t matter. Any girl was cute to him but this one particularly caught his eye in the moment. “Ohhh I see they invited a model on this trip too, may I ask your name?” He asked her. “I’m Ryan Hershen, probably your next crush. Haha Nah all jokes aside, it’s nice to meet you. I look forward to spending time with you the most.” he gave a charming smile. “Well we should probably head inside, no use in standing in the cold am I right?” he led the way hoping the others would follow.

Hyunjee glanced around, gripping the brass handle of his single suitcase apprehensively. Dancing clothes? Check. Bluetooth speakers on the way? Check. Apprehensive fear now that his fellow emotional support insomniac was a few thousand miles away? Checkity check. He glanced around to see all the guests mingling and laughing. He shrunk in on himself as he walked over to a couch and sat down, opening his book and reading silently, keeping to himself. He didn't talk much unless the hypothetical person in question was annoying, and in that case, he'd angrily tell them to buzz off. He hummed a bit to the music playing in his earbuds as he read over the lines, the black inky words already blurring. He sighed and set his book down, leaning back and just sitting there. He knew that looked creepy, but did he care? Definitively not.

He decided to people watch instead of staring at the very interesting chandelier. There was one guy who was flirting with every girl in sight. Hyunjee didn't take much interest in him and moved on with a scoff to a brunette sucking in the contents of a cigarette. He labeled her as uninteresting and moved on, glazing his eyes past all of the guests with little interest and bored lidded eyes. Behind the black dust mask he wore, he let his lip twitch in annoyance as he remembered (quite unfortunately) that these people would be in the same (spacious) building as he for the next week or more.

Ugh. Why did he let Sangyu drag him into this...?

After the bus stopped, everyone got out and waited to get their luggage. Sarah joined the group, she had a lot of luggage compared to others so this was going to take a while.

As she waited, she saw plenty of cute guys who were going to stay at the resort because of this contest. Even though she hadn't won this trip, Sarah still considered herself lucky. She got to take this vacation and see eye candies to her heart's content.

Front of the line, she saw a tall, well built guy with a backpack. She couldn't see his face but his back was certainly hot. There were two other guys but she couldn't see them properly because of a tall girl in front of her. Suddenly, someone approached her, a rather handsome someone.

"I'm not sure they accept girls this short in modeling." She always joked about her height when beginning a conversation. It made others comfortable in a strange way. "Yeah, I don't do crushes." I directly fall in love, she added silently. "You too. Oh believe me, you'll see a lot of me here. Yeah, just let me collect my luggage."

She finally got all of her luggage out and proceeded inside with the others. Everyone started mingling and chatting, well most of them. It was nice to get to know new people.

She looked around the place and saw a guy staring at the people milling around from a couch in a corner. He had a book in his lap, which he was definitely not reading, and earphones in his ears.
Perfect! Sarah was going to talk to him, hopefully get him to mix with the others.

"Hi! I'm Sarah Dawson. What are you reading?"

Hyunjee jolted, visibly startled, and glanced up quickly. Once he saw it was just another guest, he offered a nonchalant shrug and held up the book cover in response. He never said he was good with words. He didn't talk to anybody except for Sangyu, and he wasn't here, so he most definitely wasn't going to socialize. Min Hyun Jee did not get attached to people.

Especially cute guys, like that one blondie across the room.

But this person was not a cute guy, but she looked like she was into cute guys, so he decided to tolerate her, if only to find someone willing to put up with his quiet demeanor. He pulled down his mask and offered her a half-hearted smile. It was a start.

"Min Hyun Jee. Pleasure to meet you. It's a good novel, a romance story about thieves in love. I can lend it to you if you're interested."

EVENT #1 : The Meet-up
A sign right by the entrance of the lobby proudly declared “SWEEPSTAKES WINNER MEET-UP IN EVENT ROOM #1”, a small arrow pointing in the right direction underneath the sign. Always one to immediately follow instructions, Brayden nodded, immediately following the sign, luggage in tow.

And boy, was he glad he did. The space was way bigger than Brayden thought was really necessary, with multiple circle tables for sitting and a back wall lined with different foods. It only served to remind Brayden how hungry he really was.

Immediately, he was picking through his options, careful not to mix any of the things with allergens listed with anything else.

After grabbing himself some hot chocolate and more eggrolls than was strictly necessary, he yanked his suitcase over to a table where he immediately sat and began the journey of devouring his food, already considering seconds.

Nate Saito: Interacting with mikaluvkitties mikaluvkitties in the Event Room
Ouch, totally not heard. Or ignored. Nate was going with optimism on this one and guessing no one heard him with all the fuss of moving luggage and apparently now a welcome party? They really want to show them a good time at this resort. Maybe he'd come back with his mom if he ever got rich and famous enough to pull it off.

There were stragglers outside the event room chatting it up, a reminder of what he really came here for in the first place, and he figured his best bet was the meetup point. More people, better odds, right? He had one more bag of luggage now, but hey, it was just one. Put him leagues ahead of some other guests here for maneuverability. Lucky for everyone, this room had a lot of space to work with.

"Nice," he commented mostly to himself, leaving the big bag behind by a chair to go pick up one of everything from the food table. Couldn't say what all of it was, but there was only one way to find out if he liked it!

And now for the tough part. On his way back, Nate grabbed his bag and worked up the courage to sit at the table with the other guy in the place. He looked pretty engrossed in the food, but... "Hey, uh. How're the eggrolls?" Everyone liked food, that's a great conversation starter.

Well it seemed like everyone was heading inside and Charlie decided she had to get inside too. It still felt weird to think she won this contest..
While making her way inside she managed to see a guy around her age alone. She was in a hurry to get to wherever her room was otherwise she would've noticed everyone else that had made their way inside. But she needed to find someone to give her directions. Excuse me. You don't happen to know where we are all supposed to be headed?
Charlie had decided to approach him. Since he had already been interacting with a girl that left quickly, she assumed he must've asked her where they were supposed to go.
Especially since she walked off like she knew where to go.
Normally she didn't feel like bothering people but she didn't see any directions anywhere. She hoped he wouldn't mind.
"Are you here from the resort contest. If not I'm sorry to bother you. I just don't know where we're supposed to drop our luggage off."
Now that she got a good look at him, he seemed around her age. Which was a good thing. Not that it mattered...
What did matter that he was kinda cute. But that would be a weird thing to mention right off the bat to someone you didn't know.
So she kinda just pursed her lip and tried to push any weirder thoughts that might emerge.
Now that she did take a second to think about him, she noticed all the other people. Everyone seemed to be relatively around her age and she wondered just how many people and what kind of contest this was. Some kind of young adult only contest? Perhaps she should have read more about the contest before entering...

Soma Schicksal Soma Schicksal

That cute blonde was only barely in sight now, sitting at one of the tables that was so far away, yet Hyunjee could still distinguish his face. He tried to pay attention to what Sarah was saying, but his eyes kept drifting back to him. Soon enough, he was able to tear his eyes away long enough to snap back to reality and focus on what the brunette was saying. But could he really help himself if the place was crowded with cute guys?

What did it matter...? They were all probably straight...

God, he was going to get a bollocking from Sangyu at this rate.

Okay, forget the cute guys for now. Focus on whatever Sarah's saying, not the cute blonde across the room.

Sarah didn't think she could scare anyone but by that guy's reaction, it seemed like she had. He was wearing a mask but his startled expression was clearly visible.

At first, she thought he was just rude since he didn't even bother to properly look at her or greet her and just showed her the book cover but when he pulled down his mask and smiled, she decided that he was just an introvert and Sarah loved talking to introverts. They were good listeners.

"Oh anneyeonghaseyeo! I'm sorry, that's all the Korean I know. I had taken a course years ago but I forgot everything except this. That's an interesting plot and I do love romance but I already have a huge tbr so I think I'll pass on borrowing it, I'll add it to the list though." She said. She needed to understand how his brain worked so she could get him interested in the conversation. Just when she thought he was ignoring her, she caught him staring at a blonde guy. Sarah smiled, she saw a window.

"If you want, I can introduce you to the blonde guy. I make friends really fast and I'm sure I'll be able to set you up, if you're interested. Wanna give it a try?" She got up from the couch and offered him his hand.

Someone had come to sit with Brayden.

Someone had come to sit with Brayden and he had almost completely missed it.

He looked up, eyes practically sparkling as the guy asked about the eggrolls. Without a thought, he started to speak, already shoving another into his mouth. “Bro, they’re-” Okay, so it was hard to get words out while he was eating another one of these amazing eggrolls, but he still tried, having enough state of mind to give a thumbs up as he finished speaking- “so good.

He finished swallowing, then shrugged. “I mean, I’ve been told I’m not the best judge of that stuff- I guess I eat like a trashcan?- but I like them!” He smiled, offering this brand new stranger a hand before realizing it was covered in grease and sheepishly pulling it away, instead offering the one not bathed in grease.

“I’m Brayden. You entered the contest, too, yeah?”

Aranxa shouldn't have driven there. She was late, and everyone already knew everyone. nevertheless, she put on a brave face and hoisted her bag farther up on her shoulder. She saw a pretty girl ( Vi_Vi_ Vi_Vi_ )who was being followed by an entourage of boys, ( starstucker starstucker , Soma Schicksal Soma Schicksal ). There were two more boys sitting at a table, staring obbsessivly at eggrolls ( mikaluvkitties mikaluvkitties , Crooked Compass Crooked Compass ). Everyone knew everyone already. And, proably, there weren't any lesbians. She knew this had been a bad idea. She never should have come.
She didn't voice any of this, though, she just brushed off her skirt and strode up to the front desk to get her key.

He read the sign as he entered and shrugged because meeting people was easy enough, guess it made sense for the place to want everyone to find a way to get along since they would most likely be around each other the whole trip. Before he could enter the room with food galore he was stopped by a very beautiful girl with nice blue eyes and a slim but sexy build to her body. Ryan gave her a smile as she thought she was bothering him. “Ya, I won the contest, it’s nice to meet you. From what I read on the sign we are supposed to get to know everyone in this room…I guess I could get to know a few people but I do kinda wanna get the best room possible in this place so I’ll probably make it quick.” He chuckled but he did actually want to have a chance at getting the best available room but then again he needed to get to know everyone especially the ladies if he ever expected anything more to happen with them. “I’m Ryan by the way, mind me getting to know your name?” He asked politely as he guided her into the room helping her with her luggage. He honestly hoped that the brunette from earlier wouldn’t think too much of him getting to know this girl but then again she was getting to know another socially awkward guy reading a book somewhere away from the people. Nah he shouldn’t worry too much, the best part about vacations were the people and from what he was seeing so far he was definitely excited. Just as he was thinking that another girl appeared behind the group who seemed to be late, he gave her a wave just so she didn’t feel all that left out as he began grabbing some of the food they had prepared for everyone. “Sooo, mind me asking what is it you do? Like work or anything? Just curious heh.”

Hyunjee smiled softly. "Your pronunciation is wonderful," he provided with a soft voice. He wasn't really used to raising his voice above what he needed to, since he usually spoke in microphones during performances. "And alright. Once you do read it if you do, let me know what you think." He gave a smile, but it quickly melted into a startled expression. "Am I that easy to read?"

That was strange. He'd been told by people left and right that no, he was usually a closed book and no, nobody could read his emotions. But maybe this Sarah was really good at reading emotions.

Did he want a chance with the blonde? All the other guys he'd tried had either brushed him aside after getting to know him or had just wanted him for his fame, or whatever fame he had. He didn't want to be another star-crossed lover, we all know how that ends. Who was to say this guy was different?

But hey, maybe if he was lucky enough to win the competition, he could be lucky enough to walk out of here with someone.

"...could you do that?"

Someone had waved at her! Aranxa smiled, and waved back, but he had already turned around. Oh well. She pulled off her hood, letting her hair fall down around her shoulders, and edged around the group to a couch with fluffed pillows and a soft throw. Better just sit here, and read. Everyone knew each other from the bus, it would probably be best to just enjoy the vacation and try not to freeze.

Nate Saito: Interacting with mikaluvkitties mikaluvkitties in the Event Room
One thing he had to give this guy, he really loved to eat. The only times he saw passion like that in someone's eyes was when they got on about a new concept they had for the school labs, but maybe that was the nerd in him talking. Probably best not to bring it up... But he couldn't help but quirk a smile at his thumbs up anyway. What? Happiness was contagious.

"Hey, anyone who likes to eat that much has to know a thing or two about what's good." He tried to come to his defense, though he really didn't have any idea if it was true or not. Maybe he did eat like a garbage can. Seemed kinda handy, being honest. He knew who he'd bring any snacks he didn't like to: Brayden, a name to go with the trivia behind the man.

He took the non-greasy hand offered to him, giving it a firm shake. That was what good first impressions were built on, or so research said. "Yep, I'm one of the lucky winners," he played it up with a breathy chuckle. "Nice to meet ya, Brayden. I'm Nate." He set his carefully loaded plate down, stacked his bags on each other, and took his seat to dig in. He couldn't hold a candle to Brayden, but he was pretty hungry after that bus ride.

Catching a feeling of being watched, he look up and around for who it could be. Other winners, probably? He spotted a few groups paired off here and there, but he couldn't say for sure if they were looking at them or past them to the food or maybe it was all in his head. Better not to wave and be ignored for the second time today, he figured, and started in on the food. With the eggrolls first, of course. "Mmkay, these are..." He took a second to swallow, then continued. "Really good."

Sarah smiled at the compliment. Her pronounciation wasn't as good but it was nice of him to not point out any mistakes.

She had a knack for reading people, maybe because her mother was a psychologist but it didn't matter as long as she could help other people with this talent of hers. Hyunjee had a soft voice and his startled expression was so cute that Sarah couldn't help but chuckle. "Yes, you're quite easy to read." Sarah lied. He was quite difficult to read. She wondered why he was so introverted.
"Of course I can. You just wait and see what I can do." She replied and approached the table with the blonde.

On her way, she scanned the room for that one guy who had met her outside while she was waiting for her luggage. Sure enough, there he was, chatting with another girl and waving at one too. Sarah pursed her lips. Was he a player? If he was, she needed to steer clear of him. Her ex boyfriend had been a player and she was honestly fed up of people like him. But this guy... He had seemed so nice. Perhaps she shouldn't judge him so easily. She made a mental note to follow him around for a while and see if it worth to get to know him. She knew she would look crazy, stalking a person she barely even knew but this was her quest to find love, as clichéd as it sounded.

When she reached the table with that blonde, she noticed him chatting with another guy who was stuffing his face with food like there was no tomorrow. She cleared her throat. "Hey guys." She gave them her most charming smile, showing her pearly whites. "Mind if my friend and I join you? Since we're all winners of this crazy contest and we're going to stay in the same resort for the same amount of time, we might as well get to know each other." She signaled Hyunjee to come to the table knowing very well that those guys wouldn't refuse.

Hyunjee gave one of his crooked half smiles, inwardly cursing Sangyu for apparently being a dirty liar.

At the reply, however, he smiled gratefully and stood, pulling on his mask and following her over. This was something Sangyu probably couldn't do; talking to someone would cause the black-haired boy to go into fits of muttering, which Hyunjee found endearing and perceptive but others found annoying. Either way, Sarah seemed to be very well-versed in socialization, seeing as she was able to speak to the boys at the table with grace and ease, while Hyunjee probably couldn't work up the courage to even stand and go there.

That was something he admired about extroverts; the way they could start up a conversation so easily.

Coming closer, he glanced over to the blonde, his heart skipping eight beats at once as soon as he saw the silvery-blue-grey hue of his irises. The color was lovely, and Hyunjee could've stared at it for centuries, memorizing every last detail, but he was quick to tear his eyes away and follow along with whatever Sarah had planned.

If this failed and blew up in his face, he knew he wouldn't be able to bring himself to blame Sarah, but the guilt on him would weigh him down for a week and a half.

It didn't seem like it would fail though; Sarah spoke and held herself as if this was an easy task for her, and he couldn't help but envy that. Those with social skills had it way better in life, while those who didn't had a disadvantage.

Hyunjee was one of the people who didn't.

But maybe if he stuck around Sarah, he'd be able to pick up a few things and learn to fend for himself in the social constructs of life.

If possible, Brayden’s smile grew even brighter.

“Right? That’s what I’ve been saying.”

Then they were shaking hands, and Brayden was committing the name to the face. Nate. Nate. ...Nate had a strong handshake didn’t he? Like, Brayden did, too, but Nate looked so… nerdy. It was pretty unexpected.

And of course, this had to be voiced. As he pulled his hand back, he said, almost in awe, “Nice handshake, bro.” And then he was shoving more eggrolls in his mouth.

And then the guy- Nate- said the eggrolls were pretty good, and Brayden preened, nodding in agreement as his eyes crinkled.

Someone cleared their throat, and Brayden’s chewing slowed as for a moment the vague worry that he was about to get in trouble passed over him. He turned- And it was just another winner.

He smiled back to her as he continued chewing, nodding vigorously.

“Hell yeah, bro, of course you and your friend can join.” He turned to Nate. “New people, am I right? So many new friends just waiting to be made.” He gave another sweet smile.

As the friend approached, Brayden turned to him, waving as he ate another eggroll, slowing down as a thought came to him.

“Dude,” he began quietly, turning to face Nate, “We could- We could play some sort of like- Game or some shit. Like- Like Spoons, bro! That one’s fun!”

I see... My name is Charlie." She said as he helped her with her luggage. He seemed quite focused on the other girl despite her easily ditching him to interact with another guy.
Charlie understood she was never the most interesting girl in a situation but she still felt a little hurt. Was there something she had that Charlie didn't?
He had asked about what she did and her work. It was a innocent enough question but Charlie couldn't help blush a little in embarrassment. How would one say what she did for a living..
She was trying to analyze him at this point. Not sure how much she could trust him with. She decided to be abit vague. It wouldn't be the best idea to drop everything off the bat.
"I'm an artist. I draw people, but I usually have people model for me and draw them but it's always difficult finding people who are willing to agree with what I have in mind." She said cautiously.
"I don't spend a whole lot of time doing much else besides working on my art or reading."
"How about you? What exactly do you do?" She asked.
She had to get to know him more. She needed a person to trust but she wasn't sure if he was going to be that person.
She supposed she would have to get to know everyone as well. But she was dreading in case some people were mean.
