Her body wasn't discovered until Monday morning when the janitor came in to unlock the school and clean it up for the day. Police arrived at the school and shut it down for the next few days. Her cause of death was publically declared an accident so that the students were more at ease.

Her funeral was held the next week, family and friends attending while other students were allowed to attend a memorial service. It seemed like that was going to be the end of it. Life went back to 'normal' so to speak. But it didn't last. The news was blowing up when it was made public that her death was no accident and was in fact, a murder. The public immediately reacted in anger and fear, demanding to know why it took so long for them to tell them it wasn't her tripping down the stairs.

Questions were asked, fingers were pointed and frankly, the year consisted little of anything else. People who didn't get along with her were constantly targeted at school, exes often getting into fights with her boyfriend at the time, and some people even transferred out of the school. It was a mess. The town was split into sections, each one seemed to have its own specific reaction to the situation. It was difficult to leave the house without hearing her name being thrown around and suspects getting listed.

So who did it? Who killed Olivia Arrowood?

Summer has just ended and it's time for senior year to start, the events of the year prior buried under a false sense of security. The school decided to put a blanket over the death of Olivia, not permitting students to talk about it on campus or cause disputes over it. They just wanted to have a good year to erase those bad memories. Naturally, this wasn't positively received by everyone, but they went along with it. After all, you can't just accuse someone of murder...right?

Well apparently you can and this person has no problem with naming 12 suspects. Each subject was named and assigned a chess piece depending on how the evidence and motive that was stacked against them. If this wasn't enough, this person decided to reveal a secret about each person, simply seeking to make them suffer before ultimately exacting justice. They announced that each week a chess piece would be selected and investigated in order to prove or disprove them as a suspect. Whoever gets to checkmate first wins.

The clock is now ticking for each other these students as they have to find a way to clear their names, figure out the accuser, and solve the mystery of the murder. Only it quickly became something that was much bigger than they anticipated. Too deep into it, the only way out seems to be death or turning yourself in. So what will you do? Will you allow yourself to get removed from the board till only the king is left?

Congratulations! You've made it to the end of that plot. I know it was probably really confusing so let me kind of summarize it.

Olivia Arrowood was 16 years old and a junior at Hillview High School. She was struck with a blunt object before later being pushed down the stairs, having tried to call 911 at some point during the attack. Nobody knows who could be the killer because all security footage was taken and the computer was literally destroyed. It's the following year and everyone basically is pretending it never happened. But one student decides that they will find out who the murder is themselves.

So they target 12 individuals (our charries) and basically tries to prove they either killed Olivia or had something to do with her murder. Why? Because every character had a bad relationship with her. When they investigate a character, they post their chess piece on the school bulletin board and reveal a secret about them that ruins their image and such. Character deaths can happen if you want them to and ultimately the ending is decided by us.
