  • Name: Lo Po Bia Exnor

    Age: 210 (mental age: 21)

    Gender: male

Q: Regular or Irregular? ->A: Regular

    Species: metahuman (apparently)

    Appearance:
    0bddefb1929785445c96653687753c2f.jpg

Personality: Exnor is confident in his abilities, cunning, loves combat, has a habit of being harsh, and can display "lone wolf" tendencies sometimes, mostly when he feels that he must do something on his own. Despite his simingly cold and rude persona, however, he deeply values friendship and greatly respects those who show a strong will to live, to fight, and/or to achieve their goals (unless those goals are of a twisted, or immoral nature).

    Position: Fisherman

    Affiliation: neutral

    Abilities and skills:
#Incredibly powerful will- Exnor is extremely resistant to mental, or empathic interferences of any kind.
#Highly impressive combat skills- Exnor has his own way of fighting, making great use of his agility, and performing quite a few acrobacies.
#Excellent physical capabilities- Exnor has superb physical prowes, as he trained his body in order to fight Shinheuh and other strong animals of the Tower.
    • Denser skin, bone, and muscle than what would be considered normal.
    • Enhanced strength- can easily smash through concrete with both kicks and punches. His leg strength enables him to jump around 40 meters in length and 20 in height.
    • Enhanced speed & reflexes- can move at greater speed than most Regulars of the same rank, while his reflexes enable him to react extremely quick to what most people take a lot more time to react to.
    • Supernatual senses- apart from the fact that Exnor's senses of sight, and hearing are highly enhanced ( his vision enables see with amazing clarity/detail, distance, and color, while his ears pick up every single sound, and can decipher layer upon layer of noise), he can also detect the Shinsoo that others use, at a limited range (20-meter radius).
#Shinsoo control (talented)- Exnor can control 3 Baangs (the color of his Shinsoo is yellow), and can strengthen his body/dagger with Shinsoo, but he also developed some techniques of his own:
    • Smite- concentrates Shinsoo into his palm, then releases it in the form of a powerful energy blast, akin to a yellow blaze.
    • Firefly Bullet- can fire small beams of Shinsoo through any of his fingers. Not very strong, but fast and with good pearcing power.
    • Freiheit- a peculiar Shinsoo technique. Exnor can use it whenever touches something, or someone. A key symbol appears on his forehead, and yellow electrical sparks start dancing around his body. He uses his own Shinsoo to disrupt certain abilities, or techniques, namely the ones Anima use to subjugate Shinheuh and other creatures, and anything similar. He can also cast it upon Shinsoo-based objects to cancel their effects, although he cannot use this against every such type of object (if the item in question is an Ignition Weapon, or simply too strong/complex, then he cannot use this ability against it).
    • Lux Chains- he can create resistant Shinsoo chains that seem to be made out of light. He can use them as whips, for binding, or wrap them around his hands (to use as makeshift brass knuckles).
    • Supernova- generating Shinsoo blasts through his legs for jet propulsion. Can also serve for both for getting away and attacking someone at the same time.
    • In development:
      • Spin- related to spining spheres of Shinsoo, or his Baangs.
      • Quark- related to Shinsoo absorbtion and release through his body
      • Magnetar- related to creating a Shinsoo ball, or Baang that would absorb more Shinsoo
        • Magnetar Collision- related to the collision of two or more Shinsoo Balls with absorbed enemy Shinsoo.
      • Reverse-flow control- he's trying to wrap his head around it

Shinsoo Resistance: High for a Regular. As expected of a talented warrior of one of the Ten Families.

    Weapons:
    • A B-grade golden dagger (not an Ignition Weapon). No special ability.
    History:
The Lo Po Bia Family, one of the Ten Great Families, and one famous for its Anima. But among them a rather wierd child was born. Since young, he displayed great talent in combat, and he was also gifted in controlling Shinsoo. He had what it took to become a powerful member of the family in the future, but...

Exnor was not interested in the arts of the Anima, even if he was born with the talent for it. In fact he actually really hated the idea. He always valued freedom, and the fact that Anima subjugated other creatures to do their bidding really angered him. But there was more to it than that. He considered it a sign of weakness. Rather than feeling sorry for the creatures themselves, he felt angry at the symbol of oppression that his family represented.

He rebelled against the Lo Po Bia system. He faced against other people of his age without any creature under his control, and researched through all the books about Shinsoo that his family had to offer. The elites of the family where not exactly pleased with his behaviour, and soon Exnor was forced to leave the family grounds of his branch. He trained in solitude, until he was found by Headon. The "caretaker" of the Tower found the young man's principles and ideas very interesting, so he made Exnor an offer...

"Do you wish to have your wildest desires come true?"
"Naturally." replied Exnor, with a smirk.

Thus, he entered the Tower. His desire: to become the fist Anti-Anima, to become a symbol of fight against oppression, a symbol of true freedom. After the a few events that happened on the 2nd floor, namely his rematch (and loss) to the accel turtle Tok Stonebreaker, discovering the truth about high-ranker Ran, and the secret of Illiam, Exnor realised his shortcomings and decided to train harder. He is currently trying to develop his techniques to a higher level.

    • 3689569dadcff08ce9a697d35075ab72.jpg
      Name: Nyra Carciphi

      Age: 225

      Mental Age: 15

      Gender: Female

      Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual

Q: Regular or Irregular? ->A: Regular

      Species: Deep Sea Wraith

Appearance: Nyra is usual covered from head to foot in cloth bandaging that's been soaked in oil. This is because her shin is extremely sensitive to drying out, so she has to protect it from heat and light. Beneath the wrappings her skin is black and smooth, almost like a frog's, and her entire body is extremely thin and bony. Her fingers, usually padded with extra cloth, are actually thin and needle-like, and her moth is filled with many small but extremely sharp teeth. She has triangular ears, cat-like in shape, that are usually pressed flat against her head but can actually move in every direction separately.

Personality: Nyra is shy and pretty quiet, but oftentimes her curiosity gets the better of her and she can't help herself from asking nonstop questions about things. She wants to know about everything new she sees. She gets especially excited when there's Shinheuh involved. She absolutely loves Shinheuh, no matter the shape or size or how dangerous in may appear. She's accustomed to survival of the fittest and understands that fighting is necessary to climb the tower, but that doesn't mean she likes it, and she'll try to stop unnecessary fighting between friends.

      Position: Anima
      tumblr_miuibsaDa21r9ublwo1_1280.jpg

      Affiliation: Neutral

      Abilities and skills:

Deep Sea Wraith Physiology: Sea Wraiths are amphibious, and while they can live on land perfectly fine, they need to keep their skin wet at all times, and as such they must avoid exposure to heat and harsh light. Nyra deals with this by covering her skin in oil-soaked bandages, however she has to be even more careful to avoid fire since she isn't exactly sure how flammable the oil she's using is. Sea Wraith's are incredibly weak physically; their skin is thin and easily cut, and their flexible bones can be snapped like twigs from even minor hits. They are perfectly suited for the dark and being underwater though. Sea Wraiths have excellent night vision, and even better hearing when there's not even a minuscule amount of light to see by. When in the water tiny sensors all over the Sea Wraith's body can feel subtle changes in water pressure and tiny movements rippling through the water. It also goes without saying that they are excellent swimmers, capable of moving through the water faster and with more agility that most other races can even think to replicate. Sea Wraiths are also carnivores, usually eating raw fish. (Nyra may or may not develop a Sushi addiction later on.)

Shinsoo Resistance: Nyra's resistance is quite high for a fresh regular. The place she was born and grew up had extremely high ambient Shinsoo pressure, so she's actually more at home when there's more Shinsoo pressure. She just isn't used to there being little or no pressure surrounding her, so she seems very clumsy and losses her balance often when there's extremely low Shinsoo pressure.

Anima: Nyra has an unusual ability to speak to and control the many types of Shinheuh that inhabit the tower. Even when she doesn't talk to them, Shinheuh still seem drawn to her.
1 Golden Pit Eel named "Yazi", female. One of the two young pit eels Nyra brought with her to the testing floor. Yazi is a massive yellow eel with a mouth large enough to swallow things even as large as itself, filled with needle-like teeth that don't let prey escape once her jaws close. Her whip-like tail ends in a sharp blade and can lash out fast as a crack of lightning. Killed by Yume.

1 Black Pit Eel named "Siri", male. The second shinheuh with Nyra from the start, he is slightly smaller and thinner than his sister. He acts with more intelligence than his sister and knows more than simply attacking directly.

1 Aquatic Wildcat named "Ullyr", female. A feline nearly large enough for Nyra to be able to ride atop. Nyra rescued her from a test on the testing floor, and the cat has been her loyal companion ever since. Ullyr is by far the most intelligent of Nyra's shinheuh, not only carrying out complex commands but acting autonomously as needed. She can use shinsoo to make herself completely invisible. Killed by Yume.

1 Fire-tongued Needlefish "Yon", male. A long-bodied fish with a sharp pointed nose and an aggressive temperament. It is by far the fastest of Nyra's shinheuh, and her primary offense where her eels would be too large or disruptive. It hunts by stabbing prey with its nose and igniting the shinsoo to cook them from the inside, and even larger predators avoid it. Killed by Drake.

1 Harpoon Crab named "Harab", male. - A large-bodied crab that possesses a thick shell and large powerful claws. Its body moves slow, but it spears prey from a distance with its tongue and drags them into reach of its arms to be crushed and eaten. Nyra will often shelter beneath his large body when she needs to focus on her lighthouse or on controlling other shinheuh during combat.

1 Sandback Skate named "Bial", female. A flat-bodied fish between a shark and a ray, named for its sandy brown color. It hides flat against a surface and camouflages itself there until prey passes, then it flicks its barbed tail and stabs them. Its venom isn't deadly, but the pain is immediate and debilitating and lasts quite a while.

1 Ghosthair Jellyfish named "Nobody", ????. A clear-bodied jellyfish with long thin tentacles that reach out towards sources of shinsoo disturbances. The strange creature moves against the flow of shinsoo, and it disrupts shinsoo around it. A creature stung by its tentacles may not even notice at first, as its touch leaves the body numb, and often by the time its prey thinks to struggle and escape its body is already paralyzed. The jelly's venom can cause hallucinations and is mildly addictive.

Weapons: Nyra is pretty terrible with most types of weapons, so it's not too big of a surprise that her Arms Inventory doesn't have any real weapons. Instead it holds a number of glass orbs, bowls to hold compressed Shinheuh. Currently her inventory contains a dozen bowls, but only 7 are occupied. Unoccupied bowls she's learned to use as "bombs" of compressed shinsoo by simply breaking them in a way that releases all of the shinsoo at once. She also has a grey lighthouse and four basic observers, but she can only use two at a time.

History: Nyra grew up in a great underwater city suspended above a deep pit. Countless Shinheuh swam just outside the city's edge, and even more, larger, types lived below in the pit itself. Nyra was constantly slipping out of the city to play with the Shinheuh, even diving down into the darkness of the pit to see what kind of creatures lived down there that didn't like coming up where she could see them from the city. She wasn't alone in her adventures though, she had her older brother Arsean right there with her. Truth be told he was the instigator of pretty much everything, Nyra just tagged along. He's the one who ignited her spark of curiosity without which she probably wouldn't have ever left the city she was born in.

During one of their adventures down in the pit they stumbled upon the den of two huge Pit Eels. Anyone else would have been terrified or ran away from the gigantic beasts, but Arsean and Nyra were loved by the Shinheuh, and these creatures were no exception. The siblings made a habit of visiting the eels, and eventually the two Pit Eels became comfortable enough with the siblings that they ascended from the depths to show themselves to the other people within the underwater city. That was a mistake. A group of Rankers in the area heard of the creatures and decided to test himself against them, after all it isn't every day a new type of massive beast shows up. The Pit Eels were large yes, and under normal circumstances incredibly dangerous, but the Rankers had numbers and were prepared. Both of the eels died without putting up much of a fight.

Nyra was devastated that the eels had been killed, and while she was still busy crying over what had happened Headon was appearing before her brother down in the pit where he was watching over the eels' offspring. He left to climb the tower, at least according to the message he wrote on the wall of the pit. Nyra kept adventuring outside the city alone, but now it was to take care of the two eggs that hadn't yet hatched when the parent ells had died. It took a long time, so long she thought they had both died a long time ago and she was taking care of them in vain, but the eggs did eventually hatch, and after they did Headon appeared before her and asked her the same question he'd asked her brother. Did she wish to climb the tower?

pxtw3nq1.jpgName: Areum Eurasia
Age: 187, 19
Gender: Female
Regular or Irregular: Regular
Species: Human
Position: Defender
Affiliation: Neutral

Appearance:
If there's anything Areum has confidence in, it's her looks. If you'd as the girl herself, she is a wonderfully pretty young jewel, the belle of any ball, and so on and so forth. The actuality of those claims are, of course, quite subjective but at the very least it is transparent that she pays attention to her appearance. She's consistently well groomed and dressed, clearly taking time every morning to sustain her looks, and not just coasting on her naturally fair skin and silky hair.

Personality:
A spoiled brat, more or less. Raised nestled both deep within the silverware drawer and with a natural talent at her disposal, Areum encountered very little in the way of adversity throughout the bulk of her youth, and it shows. She's more or less of the opinion that things should, and will go in her favor so long as she spares the barest of efforts in their direction. Her patience for contradictions to that line of thought is just as short as her expectations are high. The ex-heiress is without aught in the names of self reflection, or at least that's the front that she puts up.

Her childish demeanor aside, though, she's not an entirely useless young woman. Whilst she does enjoy both great talent and lineage, as far as her practical skills are concerned she is a self made woman. She's more than capable of improving herself on a physical level, having no qualms with spending hours, weeks, months or even years working towards her goals so long as nothing gets in her way. Indeed, should she have be bought up better or at the very least been more learned in the concept of personal responsibility, she might not only be a tolerable, but desirable woman today.

Unfortunately, that is not the case and instead the world is blessed with one of the Ten Family's premiere problem children.

History:
A scion of the Eurasia Family, Areum's blood can be traced directly back to one of the Tower's proper movers and shakers. She spent the most of her life on the fast track to success, enjoying both the benefits of high birth, and a gift for a rarer talent than most were privileged with. At one point, she even found herself attracting the eye of the Tower's King himself, but her chances at finding even higher station were dashed by the very same blood that had coasted her through life so far. Not only that, but through her own avarice and bravado, she robbed herself of even that silver spoon, and was cast out into the lower dregs of society.

Her years spent between then and her selection were unbecoming ones. She spent more time simmering in her own self-pity and loathing than doing anything even slightly close to productive, more intent on bellyaching about her situation than actually doing anything to improve it. It was a small miracle then, that despite her years of pointless disparaging she was eventually offered an olive branch and allowed to enter the Tower.

As an F-Rank, Areum would be made to sample the delicate fruits of frustration. Wherever she turned, she was faced with roadblocks. Pest, complications and antagonists galore, it seemed she'd only been let into the Tower to be tortured further, but she persevered none the less.

Abilities and Skills:
  • Shinsoo Reinforcement, Bulwark - Areum's signature ability, Bulwark is a form of Reinforcement that focuses solely on boosting the user's ability to absorb damage. It increases her already high Shinsoo Resistance many fold, allowing her to shrug off attacks that'd normally leave a Regular of her level staggering.
    • Shinsoo Reinforcement, Myotonia - An extension of Bulwark that allows Areum to redistribute and focus her Reinforcement into specific parts of her body. Utilizing this, she's able to bring parts of her body to an even greater degree of hardness than what would usually be possible. This also causes the Shinsoo in the hyper-reinforced part of her body to become "packed" into her muscles, veins, and blood vessels, slowing the rate at which it can leave the limb and redistribute itself the rest of the body after use.
  • Blue Blood - As a direct descendant of the Eurasia Family, Areum has a naturally high potential in the field of Shinsoo Manipulation. Able to control two Bangs since even before she became a Regular, Areum might have been called a prodigal Wave Controller in another life, but she's neglected her talents in favor of other pursuits.
  • Martial Style Shinsoo Manipulation, Three Baangs - Rather than troubling herself with a thousand variations of Bang manipulation and then a million sub-variations of that, Areum has kept her Shinsoo utilization rather spartan. To make up for her particular brand of Reinforcement's narrow scope of influence, Areum wraps her fists in Bangs and then uses them to accelerate them towards the enemy. The Bangs themselves offer very little in the way of offensive capabilities, only serving to act as a delivery system for the kinetic fury offered by her many-times reinforced fists.
Shinsoo Resistance: Thanks to her lineage, Areum's Shinsoo Resistance is naturally quite high for an E-Rank Regular, but when her Shinsoo Reinforcement is active it's taken to another level. She's able to take a punch and then some, as is natural given her Position.

Weapons:
  • Palisade Bracelet - A modified Arms Inventory, the Palisade Bracelet is made up of a series of small discs. Each of these is a densely compressed structure, which can be inflated and controlled by the user when provided with Shinsoo. The bracelet houses six Palisades in total, and each one requires the use of a separate bang in order to be controlled. Because of this, Areum is currently only able to manipulate three Palisades at a time, and can't use them if she also wants to employ her Shinsoo Manipulation.

Because of this, Areum is currently only able to manipulate two Palisades at a time, and can't use them if she also wants to employ her Shinsoo Manipulation.

Han Ji-hyeon

Age:
194, 20

Gender:
Female

Q: Regular or Irregular? ->A: Regular

Species:
Hybrid human

Appearance:
A tall, athletic woman of about 6'2”, Ji-hyeon is a statuesque sight to behold. She possesses long, straight, teal-green hair that reaches past her hips, with a very noticeable horn on the right side of her head that parts the sea of green. She has golden eyes.

Personality:
Ji-hyeon, on the surface, is a normal lady, whose only interests seem to only extend from 'climbing the tower' to 'eating good food'. She comes off as rather affable and easy-going, being able to hold conversations naturally. Though she doesn't think of herself as a 'people person', she tries to make herself seem, at the very least, presentable. She isn't easily offended, and most of what people say about her to her face, or behind her back, tends to simply be water off a duck's back. She has had her fair share of being called impolite names to the point that it barely even registers as insults now. She is, to many, if not all, just a simple lady who had the luck to be chosen, and the ability to have made it this far, who doesn't even know why she's climbing the tower. Riches? Power? She doesn't know. She doesn't like to get into fights, and tries to defuse bad situations as quickly as she can. She dislikes using her strength to solve personal problems, and strives to talk things out. She is not, however, beneath demonstrating her physical prowess to get a point across if absolutely necessary.

However, Ji-hyeon is also a mercenarial, selfish backstabber who will do anything to get ahead of others. Though she may seem simple and one-track-minded, underneath that surface of jovial behaviour, lies a demon who schemes and plots her way to make sure she comes out on top of an issue. When she shakes hands with others, she studies them and ratifies their use to her in her journey upwards, making calculations as to whether they will prove a detriment, or a benefit to her objective. She voices her opinions in the most harmless ways possible, working her plots and schemes into others, nudging them towards the direction she wishes them to go towards, all while maintaining the persona of a musclehead who knows no better. Crafty and cunning, she is a consummate liar, able to hide her intentions underneath her outward persona with little issue.

To tell the truth, however, both aspects of her personality are genuine. Ji-hyeon simply believes that, even as a backstabbing snake who will do anything to progress, she should at the very least, show some humanity, and not be a complete monster about it. She believes that, in this Tower, there is no place for kindness, but there is a place for dispensing niceties. To sum it up, Ji-hyeon will treat anyone to a drink, if she has the points for it, but she is also the first to come up with a scheme the moment things go south.

With time, her violent disposition has returned. Now, Han Ji-hyeon walks the old path that she once walked, as someone who searches for strength and power, looking to face off her true rival in this Tower. Hailed as more of a monster than man now, Ji-hyeon walks with purpose, and no longer hides her true intentions.

Position:
Fisherman

Affiliation:
Neutral.

Abilities and skills:
Superhuman Strength: Ji-hyeon is extremely strong and tough, capable of facing off with tougher opponents, having gone through grueling hell.

Swords: Ji-hyeon dual wields her two weapons to great effect, using her Needle as a parrying sword, and her katana as her main weapon. In a straight sword-to-sword combat, she is capable of putting a lot of pressure on her opponents with her differing sword strikes.

Shinsoo resistance:
High

Weapons (if any) +their capabilities:
Ji-hyeon seems to favor fists, but has been leaning towards dual-wielding a crimson Needle and an extremely sturdy katana. With her height and strength, both are fairly easy to use in her hands.

History:
'Just looking for someone.' That was what Ji-hyeon told anyone she met during her journey up the Tower. Any family? Yeah. Any friends? Well, duh, but those were from a time from outer tower. Who was she looking for? She didn't know either. She didn't know who it was that she met that day, but that girl, who wasn't even the slightest bit older than her, whose eyes burned with desire and determination, changed her life forever.

Ji-hyeon came from a family of horned human hybrids, just like her. They weren't anything much to talk about. Not a Great Family, not a notable politics-involved family. Just...a family. Her father worked, her mother was a housewife, and her seven brothers did different things in life. Some became scholars, some took up more physical jobs, given their family's natural height and size, and two went into the Tower, seeking for more. Ji-hyeon herself, didn't know what she wanted to do in life. She wasn't anything special. If anything, she was more normal than the rest of her family was. She was the smallest in size, which put her at a more 'normal' level when interacting with other children. She wasn't a genius, but she was clever enough to make it through school. She wasn't weak, but neither was she overwhelmingly strong- she was just fit. She just didn't have the drive to do anything else but...live. So she picked fights, just to feel something for once in her life. It was fun. It was fulfilling. Eventually, she started a fight club, and all she did from that day was fight. Fight, and fight, and fight.

It wasn't until she met someone that her ideals changed. A girl who challenged her way of life, asking if she was content with being just a faceless nobody. They got into a fight. It wasn't any girl-on-girl squabble either. No clawing, no scratching, no catfight. It was a full-on brawl with no holds barred. Ji-hyeon was strong, but the girl was just as strong, if not stronger. This was a first for Ji-hyeon. She had never fought someone who made her feel this way. She was, for a lack of a better word, in love. With this girl, or with the idea of fighting her, she didn't really know. All she knew was that she wanted to see her again, and to fight her again. They both fought to a standstill, and the girl praised her for being able to keep up with her. Ji-hyeon didn't care for the praise. All she wanted was another match with her, any time, any day.

The girl scoffed, and told Ji-hyeon that this was the last day she was going to see her. She would be heading up the tower to claim what was hers by destiny's design. The girl told her to meet her at the top, if she wanted to fight again, and left. Ji-hyeon didn't understand what she meant by that, or what it would mean for her at the time.

Days passed, and Ji-hyeon never saw her again. She stopped going to fights. After all, after such an intense one night stand with such a girl, there was nothing else on this floor that could satisfy her. She made up her mind. She would follow this girl up the tower, wherever it may take her. She wanted to see her again, she wanted to cross fists with her again. That was all that mattered to her. Harboring that one desire, perhaps it was only fate that Headon would give her the chance to chase after this love of hers.

Time has passed, and Ji-hyeon has changed over the years of climbing. Her original hot-bloodedness has long been eroded away by the trials of the Tower, replaced by an affable, friendly persona instead, with a more menacing one hiding beneath. Having faced betrayal and happiness with others, it has forged her into becoming the Ji-hyeon of today, who is just 'looking for someone', and that 'someone' is at the top of the tower. She believed it to be so. After having lost so much of her original self, only this one desire remained- to fight the one that is waiting for her.

She commonly wears a black tank top, a pair of blue combat pants outfitted with utility pouches and multiple pockets, and a pair black combat boots. She has a very notable slouch, and stuffs her hands in her pockets any time she isn't using them for anything, granting her the image of a lackadaisical layabout, though her toned body speaks volumes about what she actually is. Which is why she mostly hides her muscled arms underneath arm-sleeves, though it isn't fooling anyone much. If anything, they seem to give her a more dangerous aura.

To sum it up, Ji-hyeon will treat anyone to a drink, if she has the points for it, but she is also the first to come up with a scheme the moment things go south.

Position:
Fisherman

Affiliation:
Neutral. Ji-hyeon is loyal only to herself.

Abilities and skills:
Superhuman Strength: Ji-hyeon is extremely strong, to the point where her crude excuse of a weapon doesn't seem to effect her, even in higher concentrations of Shinsoo. One shudders to think that she is considered the runt of her family. Her body is tough enough that she doesn't even seem the slightest bit weighed down by her shield that she carries everywhere physically, holding onto it as if it were nothing more than a few pieces of wood, and can withstand pretty heavy blows.

Shinsoo Engine: Ji-hyeon isn't particularly gifted with Shinsoo manipulation, and she doesn't understand much of it. However, she does have the capacity to learn enough of it that she can utilise it to turn her already dangerous shield into a much more dangerous weapon. By manipulating the Shinsoo around her shield INTO her shield, she reduces the amount of Shinsoo resistance acting upon it, and generating forward energy on the shield to spin at a high speed. The result is a fast-spinning blade with minimal resistance. Ji-hyeon can notably use this technique to boost her punches and kicks and other attacks as well, giving them more speed, and consecutively more force.

Shinsoo resistance:
Ji-hyeon was born with average Shinsoo resistance, but has honed a fairly high resistance to it through harsh training conditions, enough so that she can move normally in high Shinsoo density. She still pales in comparison to more naturally gifted Regulars. That said, she is agile enough to keep up with her peers, even when weighed down by her equipment. As of now, the Shinsoo density is still quite negligible to her.

Weapons (if any) +their capabilities:
Ji-hyeon's main 'weapon' of choice is a huge slab of metal that doubles as a shield and a crude, dual-bladed sword, though its weight seems to be more akin to that of a hammer. The sheer size, weight, and surface area of it speaks volumes of Ji-hyeon's monstrous strength, as she wields it with very little issue, using it effectively as a weapon and a shield. Her shield is plastered with multiple brand stickers decorating the entire internal length of it. It usually isn't stored in her Arms Inventory, and is instead attached to a holster on her back. It interacts uniquely with Ji-hyeon's Shinsoo Engine technique, and is her go-to for demolishing opposition. Contrary to popular belief, she is absolutely capable of wielding it even without the use of Shinsoo Engine.

She also possesses a set of Needles stored in her Arms Inventory. Though they are nothing special, their hilts and scabbards resemble those on katanas.

History:
'Just looking for someone.' That was what Ji-hyeon told anyone she met during her journey up the Tower. Any family? Yeah. Any friends? Well, duh, but those were from a time from outer tower. =An Amu's body=
Maybe it's something in the milk. An Amu's body is made to be tough. With marrow like metal and leather hide for skin. Those considered exceptionally durable are likened to mountains within Amu myths. And their strength is compared to a mountain's rage as well. Compact muscles weaved strand over strand perfectly. Even an unassuming Amu is able to output immense power. But such a dense body is made with faults. An Amu is heavy, clumsy. They are slow, and often an Amu's body lags behind its brain, causing a disconnect between an action's inception, and execution. Sticks and stones, when they finally do break an Amu's bones, keep them broken for longer. The body's natural healing processes is painfully slow.

=Electric Grace=
Illiam's ability with Shinsoo tends to align with the electric. In combat this blue lightning arcs across the battlefield with every attack. Using the eletric Shinsoo to argument his natural strength Illiam stands to contest those a rank above and challenge those a step above, if only for a moment. Its grace contrasts with the brutish movements of its user. Yet the dissonance between the dancers, one of grace and the other of savagery, alludes to the nature of his techniques, their stolen history.
~A Graceful Blade~
A technique in switch Illiam imbues that which he holds with electric Shinsoo, increasing its sting. The lighting that arcs across the object invades the opponent with the goal of causing numbness and eventual paralysis.
~A Graceful Storm~
Illiam's lighting is able to increase its distance by arcing from person to person. Conducive objects also work for this purpose. Illiam is also able to, within a limited range, change the voltage from person to person, using himself and allies as targets to continue the arc without hurting them too much.
~A Graceful Body~
Using his electric Shinsoo Illiam can stimulate and further enhance his body. This enhancement is not an absolute increase in ability, rather it increases Illiam's natural weaknesses, rounding him out for a limited time.
~A Graceful Discharge~
Illiam's powerful Shinsoo comes at a price. Unable to fully control it, using his Shinsoo too much comes with a chance for it to discharge. In short bursts, Illiam doesn't need to fear a sudden discharge but continued use increases the chance of a discharge every second. Losing focus or getting too heated can contribute to the chance of discharge. A discharge results in a sudden internal explosion of electric Shinsoo, damaging him greatly and leaving him paralyzed. Anything he happens to be holding is subjected to the same fate.
~A Savage's Grace~
But what if the power of the discharge was forced into enhancing Illiam, such explosive power could be directed. By creating and focusing a discharge within himself Illiam is able to achieve absolute excellence, if only for a moment. The sudden explosive power can be used for a single swing, and then it's gone. The short window doesn't allow Illiam a second chance if his timing is off and more often than not, must be executed mid-strike. The effects of the discharge on Illiam are greater too. Redoubling, the internal damage is greater and that paralysis holds him for longer.

=Longest Day, Darkest Night: Solstice=
Ignite, desire. Speak the command, and let hunger spill forth. Illiam's ignition weapon upon activation does not boost his abilities. No boon to speed, strength or Shinsoo control is granted. Rather, the main body of the weapon, his arm, begins to molt. Leaving behind layers of skin that morph into snakes, born of Shinsoo. The snakes more independently, the target of their hunger matching that of Illiam's desire. Illiam can perceive through the snakes, sight and sound, and is able to use them as a surrogate for his attacks.

Three observes that don't stand out in terms of function. No better than a standard E class observer. They're made durable, hard and heavy, but that's all that sets them apart.

History
Rip and tear, tumble and fall. The most specific memories are those that play to the sounds of those actions. Happiness and ecstasy, moments of absolute jubilation were always accompanied by a bruise or a break. But it's not the break that stands at the forefront of memory. It's the bed afterward. Moments of calm, the long process of healing, accompanied by the voices of spite, disappointment, and laughter. The voices of those who belonged by his side.

But they were ripped apart, torn away. And Illiam left broken, sent falling. Emotions cry out in pain and sorrow, anger. His voice cries the same. Even as he found a new bed and new voices, his voice could only cry rage. And for a time, rage cried until its last whimper. And the whimper became fear. The constant fear that the voices and their spite, and their laugher, were gone.

And so down the spiral, he tumbled, as up the tower he fell. Climbing the stairs with nothing more than the veiled recollection of his goal. Did it wait for him at the top, or, maybe, somewhere along the way. Of the many voices he came across, those who preached freedom and those who swore rebellion. Even as he followed these voices, their Song, his ears always listened for the voices he claimed ownership over long ago.

But in the end, he remains following the song of others. And to an extent, taking that song of freedom to those who speak in red, in blood and chains. For it was their voices that echoed throughout the tower. But it was the song that Illiam followed. And it was the spite, and the disappointment, and the laughter, that he sought.

Name: Ha Naseon

Age: 279 | 19

Gender: Male

Q: Regular or Irregular? ->A: Regular

Species (Living Ignition Weapon included): A Monster of a Human

Appearance: A short, plain-looking boy with dark grey hair and bright green eyes. He seems to have a fondness for the color black.

Personality: Naseon had been a runt of the Ha family, always the smallest and weakest among the other children. Even coming from a branch family he was nothing special. So how do you think he reacted upon learning that outside of his family of monsters, that compared to other regulars he was quite the monster himself? His confidence and ego ballooned to about the size of the tower. He's covered up his doubt and lack of confidence with a newfound overabundance of confidence. He might be the weakest child of the Ha family, but he's far above these other weaklings. Anyone that isn't a Ranker or from one of the 10 families is an ant in his eyes, another target for his growing sadism.

Position: Fisherman

Affiliation: Zahard

Abilities and skills:
Naseon Martial Style - Whirlpool: Naseon's fighting style involves building up momentum and power until he can simply tear apart whomever stands in his way with his bare hands. It is particularly weak at the start of a fight but can snowball out of control quickly if not stopped.

Naseon Shinsoo Technique - Seaweed: Naseon covers his hands with shinsoo which latches onto the shinsoo of his enemies and drags them towards him. Visually it looks like glowing green tentacles or seaweed flowing from his palms.

Naseon Shinsoo Technique - Nautilus: A defensive and offensive technique where shinsoo is sucked into Naseon's hand and is compressed, becoming a powerful concentrated attack when released.

Naseon Shinsoo Technique - Doldrums: Shinsoo in an area around Naseon seems to simply cease flowing, as if frozen in place. This moment of stillness is followed by...

Naseon Shinsoo Technique - Monsoon: ... all of the shinsoo around Naseon suddenly rushing in every direction in a chaotic storm of unpredictable motion. This disrupts most shinsoo manipulation and gives Naseon a golden opportunity to tear through his enemies.

Shinsoo resistance: Naseon's shinsoo resistance is actually surprisingly low, especially for a member of one of the 10 families. If anything the shinsoo seems to want to press down on him particularly strongly, which may explain both his short stature and slow-starting fighting style.

Weapons (if any) +their capabilities: His own two hands, and technically the gloves I guess, which offer extra grip and protection.

History:
Naseon was born a member of one of the Ha branch families. Like most children born to the family, he was gifted with incredible physical strength, but he in particular suffered from an odd affliction that made shinsoo cling to him. Spending time in places with a high enough concentration would lead to him having trouble moving his body, even becoming completely paralyzed in particularly bad instances. This condition stunted his growth, making him short not only compared to the naturally-tall Ha family but even among other families of more common heights. He was a runt. The one close friend he had was a girl from another family. She didn't mind him being tiny or whining about his family every day. When she was chosen to become a princess and taken away from him to go climb the tower, Naseon said fuck that and followed after her. He doesn't care if she was picked by the king himself, he won't let things just be taken away from him without a fight. If that old man wants to complain then he'll get punched too.

Age (at least 150 years old+ mental age): 326, 23 years old mentally.

Gender: Female

Q: Regular or Irregular? ->A: Regular.

Species (Living Ignition Weapon included): Cat Sidhe…a species that have lived in the Outer Tower long before Zahard appeared and took over. They are a peaceful kind that dislike fighting and have never participated in climbing the tower…until Sel came along. They live in a secret village that very few know about. The cait sidhe are known for their ability to shift between human and cat form. They have excellent senses and eyes that shift color depending on their mood. Red=anger, blue=calm, green=happy, black=sad, yellow=desire/excitement, violet=berserker(Sel is the first Cat Sidhe to have this). Cat Sidhe do not have a natural eye color so their eyes always reflect their emotions. This may make them very easy to read.

Appearance: It has changed as an aftereffect of Yongsung Murin's Earth's White Blessing.

Personality: She's still competitive, playful, and somewhat lazy. Still doesn't care about becoming a ranker, but, ever since retrieving her right eye and returning to Cat Sidhe village, she's been bored as of late. Her reason for climbing the tower is to see her friends again and maybe help (?). She doesn't know. Perhaps finding a reason to climb is a good enough reason.

Position: Scout/Fisherman. Scout mainly...though she can do the duties of a fisherman no problem.

Affiliation (Zahard Empire, FUG, Wolhaiksong or neutral): Neutral, but a slight leaning towards the Zahard Empire because she's friends with Yongsung Murin Zahard.

Abilities and skills:
  • Well-trained Cat Sidhe Physique (natural + learned): Agile, fast, acrobatic, and strong even without shinsoo…she’s a cat, so she’ll usually land on her feet. Her coordination, balance, and overall skill has improved (since Another Perspective) such that she no longer needs to wear the shinsoo armor she originally donned to resist shinsoo of the tower. Helps that she got her right eye back.
  • Feline Senses (natural) : She’s got better senses than a normal human. Hearing, smell, night-vision. All the basic cat stuff. Shinsoo smells like fish to her. In fact, that's what she swears most occupants of the tower smell like. Different types of fish.
  • Feline Transformation (natural): She can turn into a cat (good for scouting). This form lowers the flow of shinsoo through her body (because of the smaller size) so she'll naturally take this form when she desires to preserve her strength. Altering between human and feline forms allows her to adjust her size, and appearance, as needed depending on the situation.
  • Feline Communication (natural): She can speak to all felines (good for scouting?)
  • Purple Eyes: BERSERKER MODE (natural + learned): She's learned to control her violent tendencies and channel it into a skill. All her stats multiply when her eyes turn purple, including her physical stats, her ability to manipulate shinsoo, her shinsoo resistance, and her mental resistance as well.
  • Skilled Hook(Scythe) user (learned): She's quite skilled at using her her hook/scythe, Athlene.
  • Athlene Ignition Lvl 1 (learned): When ignited, her hook eats shinsoo and stores it for her use. There's a limited capacity, obviously, though the amount is currently unknown.
  • Body Enhancement/Athlene BUFF (learned): In training with Yongsung Murin Zahard, she's learned to control the flow of shinsoo through her body and use it to further enhance herself. Taking the shinsoo given to her by Athlene, she is able to temporarily increase her physical parameters. She can choose to focus on one parameter or divide the shinsoo equally among all. Contact with Athlene is required for continuous transfer of the shinsoo to herself, though, if this goes on for too long, she'll likely revert to her feline form due to exhaustion.
  • Weapon Enhancement/Athlene GROW (learned): The shinsoo stored in Athlene is used to enhance the weapon itself, allowing her to temporarily increase its sharpness, durability, and overall cutting power. The more she she attacks with the enhanced Athlene the quicker the stored shinsoo depletes...unless she's attacking something dense in shinsoo. She can only do this with Athlene.
  • Shinsoo Blade (waves)/Athlene SWING (waves) (learned): A long-ranged attack in which sharp arcs of purple slicing-shinsoo are sent towards her opponent. It can be created by manipulating the shinsoo around her (she normally makes 3 baangs), but more often is made using the shinsoo stored in Athlene when she flings an opponents' shinsoo back at them.
  • Silent Step/CAT Step (learned): A technique of silent walking taught to her by her guide. Doesn't require shinsoo.
  • Shadow Cat (learned): A high level body modification technique taught to her by her guide that gives her some of the properties of shadow and lets her phase through solid objects. This does not apply to shinsoo (especially dense concentrations will still stop her) or objects reinforced by shinsoo. In addition, it completely mask the flow of the user's shinsoo letting her more easily hide and making her relatively immune to reverse flow control or any other technique that attempts to manipulate her shinsoo (can't control what you can't sense). Due to the difficulty of the skill in maintaining, and the nature of the technique, it cannot be used in conjunction with any other techniques involving shinsoo...yet. Sel can only use this when her eyes turn blue.
  • Alley Cat-style fighting (learned): A self-taught, flexible combat style that centers upon using whatever advantage is available. Selicity has no problems with fighting dirty.
Shinsoo resistance: Above average.

Weapons (if any) +their capabilities:

  • Athlene (Ignition Weapon, Rank ???): A hook that "eats" shinsoo and stores it for its user's use.

  • 1 pocket, 1 Arms inventory, and 2 observers (All grade A according to her guide, though she swears they don't seem to have any additional functions besides the 2 winged observers that seem capable of X-ray vision, shinsoo scanning, item retrieval, and assault alert. They also seem to be cowards even though they do have battle modes.)

History:

Sel had always been a different from all other cat sidhe. She was a violent child and, whenever her eyes glowed violet, she would go on a rampage. No one in the village knew how to deal with her and as a result she grew up pretty isolated. Her life changed, however, when she met a High Ranker who—for some reason—decided to visit her village. During his visit he heard about Sel and insulted her lack of control. As a result, Sel’s eyes became violet and she attacked the High Ranker. However, he was much superior to her and, after defeating her, took her right eye. The last words she remembered him saying were:

“If you want this back, gain some emotional control first. I’ll be waiting for you at the top of the Tower.”

Thus Sel spent years training to be chosen…with the goal of retrieving her right eye. Her fellow villagers felt pity for Sel and helped her in any way they could. They crafted her armor that would make moving in shinsoo much easier. The village chief gave her Athlene, which was the weapon that was said to been used by the first Cat Sidhe. Her aim is to climb her way to the top of the tower in order to retrieve her right eye.

Since Another Perspective
thumb-350-244418.png
Since the first floor where she met the Irregular Illiam, Seefi, and a certain turtle (?), she encountered Yongsung Murin Zahard who also had a bone to pick with High Ranker #666, The Galleon. Upon hearing Selicity's story, Murin decided to assist Sel in getting back her right eye. Working with the Zarhard princess and given the Earth's White Blessing, which allowed her to take on the form in which she is most powerful, Sel managed corner and PUNCH Evelyn's face to the floor (very satisfying), thus retrieving her right eye. She then returned to Cat Sidhe village. However, nothing's really changed. She was still an outsider in the peace-loving village. Worse yet, she grew bored. Missed the exciting life of the tower. Missed the friends she's made. Therefore when the Galleon, oddly enough, offered to guide her up the tower, Selicity began climbing once more.

  • Cat-style fighting. When I say she'll usually land on her feet, I mean she'll USUALLY land on her feet. Her fighting style priorities balance (with her tail), agility, flexibility, and her claws (when she's not using her scythe). Nothing wrong with fighting dirty either.

Shinsoo Resistance: Average for an E-Rank Regular

Weapons: Pocket (E-Rank), Arms Inventory (E-Rank), Navy Blue Needle (E-Rank), 3 White Lighthouses (E-Rank)

History:
Mun Minseo was born in a small city somewhere within the outer tower. Her home was quaint and quiet. It was in this place that Minseo was known as a prodigy. She excelled at everything from academics to athletics. She attended a small school with her peers. None of them even the least bit interesting. Their dreams were shallow and they lacked the drive to strive for more than the town could offer. Minseo understood the truth of the matter. She was no prodigy; she was just surrounded by a population that was content with what they had. Living life like this was hell to Minseo. She dreamed of being in a place full of interesting people who were full of talent and ambition. A place that would make her look completely underwhelming in comparison. How surprised she was when Headon revealed himself to her and allowed her to live out this dream.

Minseo is currently climbing the tower as an E-Rank Regular alongside her partner the wave controller Yeong-Su. While she still doesn’t see herself as special in the least her ambitions are still high. She plans to reach the top of the tower no matter what it takes.

Cold is he who understands little of himself, the world, and those around him. Shut off to others, not from a desire to be alone, because he fears to know them better. Aloofness is his nature, a lack of understanding is what keeps him from seeking a world outside his land of white. It's all just so hard. Every person a new personality to try and hopelessly make sense of. Every relationship a series of trial and error. Foreign lands and streets are just to get lost in. In the dark and the snow and the cold, he finds comfort, familiarity. Yet the man pines for more. The emptiness of his comfort pains him. Defining his life as shallow yet still indulging in the hedonistic. A life of easy come easy go happiness is addictive.

Maybe true fulfillment can be found in turning transient happiness into something more permanent. Such a belief fuels Yeong-Su's obsession, a preservation addiction. That which is frozen may stay beautiful forever, unchanging and stagnate. An addiction like his isn't born of a hate for change, rather a fear of decay. That one day what is beautiful and happy with decay. That which brings pleasure will one day make the body numb.

1cd8d3ff78ac602b34759a9add2e3d4d0899d756.pngAbilities and skills
=Winter Warning - Northern Star=
Less of a skill and more of the mark of Yeong-Su's specialization. The efforts of refinement absolute, a single-minded focus of perfecting a single Baang. With a Soo that shines, giant illuminant, drawing allusions to the stars of legend. The Myun that surrounds does so as a veil of sparkling silver auroras. The Myun reaches outwards in a diameter of 2 meters (6.5 feet). Getting close brings about the same feeling of drawing close to the center of a blizzard. Under the enhancement of a Light House, the storm grows bigger. A single lighthouse can enhance his Myun to 10 meters, every additional Light House after that increases the storm by 5 meters.

=Flash Freeze=
Refine the skills further. Taking the skills one learns with Fast Skip, Yeong-Su is able to introduce a new form of freezing. The technique simulates a perfect status, rendering an object or even a person absolutely still. Incased in ice, forevermore. Unlike Fast Skip, the technique can be used at a distance. Shinsoo made ice will slowly surround the target, but until the ice surrounds fully, the target is still able to move. The further the target, the longer it takes for the freeze to take effect. Targets touching the Baang are frozen almost instantly. Though, the move by itself is not designed to kill, much the opposite. It's created to preserve. Living targets shall stay alive while within the hard to break ice.

=Frozen Current=
A sudden chill, an unpredictable cold front. As currents of Shinsoo come in contact with Yeong-Su's Baang the currents are subjected to a sudden freeze. A pillar of ice and frost grows rapidly, following the current of Shinsoo and freezing everything that stays within. Yeong-Su has no control over the path of the ice, as it follows the current. Its nature becomes unpredictable in that regard unless someone can redirect or see the current it follows.

=Broken Form=
A style made entirely on instinct. Not the peerless intuition that could be expected of those who perfect a style of combat. No, it's a hollow reliance on what vague memories exist within his own blood. The hole filled heritage that has been neglected, yet still called upon when all else fails. A combination of peerless strikes, that which his body remembers, and the faulty, wasted, movements that cut between each strike. A technique that pretends to be a technique, and is good enough to fool until someone takes a closer look.

Shinsoo resistance
Naturally high, but that tough skin is all he has. Neglecting to learn how to use Shinsoo for reinforcement, that natural resistance is all he has. Compared to similarly ranked Regulars who use reinforcement, he's only average.

Weapons
=Derelict Pride=
A sword with rust that betrays its luster. A blade that hints at being an imposing length, but is broken in two. No longer than the length of an arm now, thick and stout and properly imbalanced.

History
If anything can be found atop that Tower sky high, even higher, up there one could find a place to be truly alone. Could there be a land up there, blanketed in white nothingness, a roof fit perfectly for one? To one who hates the noise, the static sound of movement, it sounds nothing short of paradise. The white-noise of change, the infernal brain-numbing sounds of shuffling as life moves on, people moving on. Enough to drive one mad. Mad enough to climb.

And so he made that climb, and along the way, hated every second of it. Unable to get used to the shifting landscapes, their cultures, and peoples, the types that came and went, lived and passed by Yeong-Su. Maddening. And Yeong-Su was left helpless as he was surrounded by the constant noise, idle chatter of those who he refused to walk ahead of. Every floor a new idle voice, spitting hollow words. And every floor, a new voice found itself silenced. Noise came and noise went. Noise went, and silence came. Again and again. Truly, maddening.

Change, and change again, time, and time again. If there was any solace to be found, maybe it was in the fact that change adhered to its own chaotic rhythm. And when he had thought back to those years where time passed to the next calendar page, over and over, the idea sickened him. Time and again, gain only to lose, for that was change. So why did he continue? Be it abandoned house, long-degraded fort, and the cell of a jail, Yeong-Su had found many places within the tower where he could be still, alone truly. Yet he skipped all of them. Was it because she did too? In an everchanging journey, there was a consent that Yeong-Su himself hadn't realized. One infuriating idle voice that had been there from the start, and one that he didn't realize, had never left. Her voice rang clear, free from the white-noise. Without noticing, she had become apart of his stagnate life, something that didn't change. A part of his preserved paradise. And he hadn't realized it until she spoke to him:

"Hey you gonna if you're gonna keep following me at least buy me a coat!"

Name: Weapon # 1111: Ajax Cruise

Age: 168, Mentally 19

Gender: Male

Appearance: He is 5'10'' and weighs 170lbs. Becoming an ignition weapon and having the shinsoo reactor core in him has changed his hair color. He never takes off his mask and doesn't seem to eat. Doesn't have to with shinsoo constantly running through his system. Truth is, he might not even have a face under there anymore.

Q: Regular or Irregular? ->A: Regular

Species: Living Ignition Weapon (Cyborg)

Personality: Polite and respectful usually, Ajax doesn't feel the need to brag about his abilities since he knows what it's like to have been a failure and doesn't think of himself as anything special. Trading insults is beneath him and he prefers no to. That said, he's also very determined to get his way and once he sets his mind on something, there isn't much he wouldn't do to get it. So yes, he's fairly ruthless and has questionable morals. It's because of this that he himself doesn't particularly dislike those with questionable morals either. He appreciates cleverness in a person and has his own brand of playful humor to share with those he grows close to. Like the Galleon, he's a thrill-seeker who loves a good challenge, though his high comes from when he wins (he just doesn't boast), and, unlike his employer, he's much more lawful, hardworking, and less prone to spite...though he hates losing many times more. In spite of his typical nonchalant/even-tempered demeanor he's actually quite stubborn and prideful. He doesn't even remember the reason he wanted to climb the tower anymore. He doesn't care. He just wants to prove that he can.

Position: Light-bearer

Affiliation (Zahard Empire, FUG, Wolhaiksong or neutral): Neutral, Ophidian

Abilities and skills:
  • Shinsoo Reactor Core: Generates and runs shinsoo through his body, passively reinforcing it and and allowing him to complete physical feats no ordinary humans are capable of. If it's destroyed he will lose his ability to manipulate shinsoo.
  • Computer-like brain processing: Exceptional memory and analytical capabilities. Ajax's mind works like the computer it is, gathering data, storing it, and processing it in ways no ordinary human could dream of. He is quick to learn things so long as they are physically within his reach.
  • Exceptional Hacker: With his computer-like brain, it was in was easy enough to pick up this skill from his employer. Many factors come into play when it comes to his success in hacking such as the grade of the item and the ability of the controller. At his current skill, he can't hack into items B-grade and above (with their B-grade anti-hacks) or compete against a C-ranked regular Lightbearer in terms of controlling/stealing information from their shinsoo items (without being caught at least). Ranker Light bearers are still beyond his mental capacity, though it's undeniable that his abilities in this regard are rapidly progressing. The Galleon calls Ajax his genius hacking program and, considering they share the same position (as Light-bearer), Ajax is in many ways his protege in that regard.
  • Skilled mechanic: Even before he became a living ignition weapon, he was good a working with machines.
  • Auto-Repair: By focusing the shinsoo reactor core to the area of damaged, Ajax can force enhanced healing on that spot at the expense of leaving other areas vulnerable.
  • Lighthouse manipulation: Ajax can control up to 6 lighthouses at a time within his field of control. This includes altering their sizes, transparency, permeability, and even reinforcing them.
  • Lighthouse Triple, Quadruple -> Hexagonal Reflective Barriers: Between at least 3 tighthouses, he can make a semi-transparent shield of (cyan) light that contains reflective properties. The more lighthouses utilized, the stronger the durability of the shield and reflective properties.
  • Lighthouse teleportation: He can teleport a max of 3 people per light house at a time. That's a total of 18 people at a time assuming he controls all 6 lighthouses, though he needs one of the houses to be the teleportation point so it's typically 15 (unless he's just swapping people between his lighthouses). Forced teleportation can be consciously resisted if they have the shinsoo resistance great enough to resist his lighthouse manipulation, though they must be consciously trying to resist it. Objects and shinsoo are included in his teleporting capabilities and are limited to quantity and size.
  • Lighthouse Field Flow control (Stop): Using 3 or more light houses, he is able to restrict the movements of a target depending on their shinsoo resistance. The more lighthouses he uses, the greater the stopping power. He has 6 at the moment.
  • Lighthouse Field Reverse Flow control (Dismatle): Using 3 or more light houses, he is able to dismantle a target's shinsoo technique depending on a targets' shinsoo manipulating capabilities and the complexity of the technique. The more light houses, the greater the dismantling power. He has 6 at the moment.
  • Excellent Support: From guiding the spears of spear bearers to increasing the size of a wave controller's baangs to enhancing weapons by gathering shinsoo, Ajax is familiar with assisting other positions both in the front and the back depending on where he's needed (though he's happier in the back). By accessing the tower's network of information as well.
  • Dance of Wires (Death): Pouring shinsoo from the pores of his fingers into the wires released from the Reel Gloves, he is able to freely manipulate them to entangle the target, increase their durability, make them invisible (to the untrained eye), or sharpen them into blades of death. Once trapped, he might marionette the target, reel them in, or put them in into a better position for his allies. He can also use them to add to the flexibility and speed of his movements if the environment allows it. And by ramping up his shinsoo core reactor, he can send electrical currents of shinsoo through them as well, shocking the target, and controlling the voltage to a degree.
  • Electric Data Body (ignition): By ramping up the shinsoo core reactor temporarily, his physical stat, as well as his mental processing speed, doubles and his body becomes encased in electric shinsoo leaking from his pores. Touching him hurts (unless you've got really good shinsoo resistance). He can even use his lighthouse to further enhance this because his body is, in fact, a weapon, but do this too long and he runs the risk of overheating his shinsoo reactor core. When this happens, he can also turn parts (if not all) of his body to 0s and 1s at will. This lets him physically enter into near by data using/gathering items (like light houses and observers) and control them as his own body for a short period. From there he is able to repair them, restoring any missing patches of data as well. If the item is destoyed with him inside, he will die.
  • Basic Barrier: By manipulating the shinsoo generated around the lighthouse, he is able to create a barrier around all 6 houses at a time, so long as they are within the field of his control, though the more he has to make, the weaker their defensive capabilities.
  • Hand to Hand Combat: He's pretty good at it. The fact that his new body is built durable helps.
  • Dance of Wires (Stitches): Further study of anatomical physiology has allowed him to develop a surgical techique in which he is able manipulate his wires to close wounds, reattach flesh, graft tissues, and even be thin enough to re-connect nerves. The shinsoo imbedded in the wires contain minor healing properties that enhance the body's natural healing process and is the effect is even stronger if the operation is performed under the shinsoo gathering enhancement of a lighthouse(s).

Shinsoo resistance: Decently high.

Weapons (if any) +their capabilities:
  • 6 cyan-colored lighthouses (grade C)
  • Reel Gloves (grade C) -> Release shinsoo-conducting wires from the fingertips which Ajax can manipulate by pouring shinsoo from the pores of his fingers into them.
  • Shinsoo Reactor Core Repair kit -> The tools needed to fix and maintain his core should it be damaged.
History:

(Old Body)
Ajax was one of those failures who struggled to get pass floor 20. It was there that he saw his limits as a human when faced with monstrous potential of those who couldn't possibly be called human. He didn't have potential. However, unlike his teammates, giving up isn't in his dictionary. He got a part time job at a rare item shop called Ophidian on the 20th floor and scrounged up points to try again...and again...and again. After his 20th attempt, when he was certain he'd died from an explosion during the test, he found himself somehow alive in the hospital , though his face was horribly mangled and a leg and an arm missing. Turned out his employer, Evelyn Wicker, had footed the hospital bill. An odd thing in Ajax's mind since the High Ranker never seemed to care before. Ophidian's owner asked him how much he was willing to give to make it to the top and when his answer was "everything", the olive-skinned man offered him a deal. Ophidian needed good employees and would support his becoming a Ranker if he sighed a full-time employee contract dedicating 2 centuries of his life to the business after he succeed. Ajax accepted.

Afterwards, he was sent to the Workshop where the Galleon pulled in some favors in order for him to undergo the experiment to become a living ignition weapon and give him a chance at making it to the top. He spent 10 years in the workshop (getting used to his new body) and another 20 years training with Evelyn (while working at Ophidian) before he started climbing again. This time though, he did it with company. A Cat Sidhe he was told to help.

Name: Haewon Zahard, formerly Haewon Blitz

Age: 355 | 19

Gender: Female

Status: Regular | E-Rank

Species: Human (Princess)

Appearance: Haewon Zahard as a member of the Blitz Family was born with dark red hair and eyes. Physically she is short and lean and can often be spotted wearing a crimson dress that has been modified for comfort during combat.

Personality: Haewon is a naturally kind-hearted person who acts in the best interest of others. Unfortunately, her Blitz lineage is notorious for its unstable and manic family members, and Haewon is no different. She is prone to dramatic mood swings and bouts of violent behavior. She is naturally very competitive and loves the thrill of combat. Despite her violent tendencies, she could never kill a person, however, she is completely fine with maiming particularly stubborn opponents.

Due to past scares yet to heal, Haewon is scared of losing those around her to the brutality of the tower. Accordingly, she tries her best not to get attached to others, but often this proves difficult. She is most wary of weak regulars because they are fragile and are prone to die. She is fond of 10 family members because they are fun to fight and make good allies, however, she doesn't care for the arrogant members.

When in casual settings Haewon is a naturally curious individual and is prone to getting herself into trouble with authority. Her hot-blooded nature and childish attitude make her fairly stubborn so she rarely backs down from a confrontation. And though she won't admit it, Haewon has become increasingly careless since becoming a Princess. Haewon has a massive sweet tooth and has a total aversion to spicy foods.

Position: Spear Bearer, Wave Controller, Fisherman, Hwayeomsa

Affiliation: Zahard Empire, Blitz Family

Abilities & Skills:

Physical Attributes

Zahard Blood - Haewon has been gifted with the blood of Zahard and thus her natural strength, speed, and durability have all increased to an incredible degree.

Mental Attributes

Blitz Blood - Haewon has inherited the infamous temperament of the Blitz family. She is emotionally unstable and quick to anger or sadness. She also possesses several violent tendencies, and some would even describe her as maniacal. This often causes her to act irrationally and impulsively during combat.

Combat Skills

Unarmed Combatant - While Haewon is not greatly skilled in unarmed combat she can rely on her incredible physical strength in order to overpower unsuspecting foes. Despite this, she tends to fight like a brute when unarmed and is rather unrefined without her spear.

Spear Proficiency - the preferred weapon of Haewon, is very skilled with handling a spear, however, she is by no means a prodigy spear bearer. She is often able to catch her opponents off guard with her unique spear fighting style and has worked very hard to hone her spear technique. That paired with her strength and speed and she is a force to be feared when wielding a spear.

Advanced Shinsoo Control - Haewon is adept at controlling shinsoo. She has already discovered her natural Shinsoo shape (wings) and quality (fire). While her ability is not monstrous she is more skilled than your average regular and can currently control three baang with impressive Myun and Soo.

Hwayeomsa - Haewon through her bloodline is able to naturally convert shinsoo into flame without much effort. This is a feat that is said to be very difficult to do, but for Haewon her fire abilities are her strongest.

Quinn-Style - A style of combat created by Quinn Blitz that centers around the use of the internal shinsoo control, Infernal Technique. Quinn-Style utilizes quick explosive blast of fire for more powerful concentrated Hwayeosa attacks. Mobility and Power are the cornerstones of this style.

Quetzal-Style -
A style of combat created by Quetzal Blitz that centers around elegant spear combat. Quetzal-Style emphasizes flowing spear techniques and flourishes that combine the best of offensive and defensive abilities. The style is colorful, fun, and flamboyant allowing one to turn passion into power.

Haewon-Style -
Not quite a functional style of combat yet, however, upon discovering the natural shape of her Shinsoo, Haewon decided that she would develop her own techniques using this newfound ability. She is still working out the details.

---

Overall Haewon combines her overall knowledge of marital techniques and Shinsoo skills to form her own style of fighting. She is an expert at mid-range combat preferring to keep her opponents just close enough where she can unleash powerful attacks onto them without giving them space to retaliate. She is gifted physically and with Shinsoo, however, she lacks the restraint to conserve her resources properly. She will often attempt to win a battle as quickly as possible, and so is prone to lose drawn-out battles of attrition. Haewon is also uncomfortable with battling at a long-range or ultra-close range, so she will often attempt to close distance or create distance from an opponent who is not in mid-range. Lastly, while the Princess is a powerful well-rounded combatant, her greatest weakness is those who are extraordinary in a single facet of combat. An overwhelming amount of physical force or Shinsoo prowess is still very dangerous to her.

Techniques

Quinn-Style: Infernal Technique - The Infernal Technique is a Shinsoo control skill that allows one to internalize their flames. The internalized flames are compressed and contained in and around the user’s body and can be unleashed throughout the body for a variety of effects. Haewon can utilize bursts of flame to maneuver quicker and her physical attacks can be enhanced with the use of this technique. To activate the technique the user must first generate a large amount of fire by whatever means they choose, and then in an instant absorb all of the flames within themselves. The process is painful, but once the internal flames are being fed by one’s own Shinsoo the process is complete. (For more detail, please read Quinn Blitz's CS)

Quinn-Style Spear Skill: Flame Tongue - Extending the Infernal Technique to her spear, Quinn can produce swathes of flames with her spear slashes.

Quinn-Style Shinsoo Control: Furies Firebolt - Haewon forms a fiery javelin outta her baang and launches the firebolt at high speeds towards a target. Upon impact, the baang unravels and unleashes a small explosion.

Quetzal-Style Spear Skill: Hellfire Dance - Haewon uses Naga's to its full length and performs an incredibly quick flourish encircling herself in a sphere of chains and flame. Through both skilled chain spear handling and adept shinsoo control, Haewon causes flames to wreath around Naga's chains as they are moved/manipulated with Shinsoo in order to maintain the defensive spear dance. During this flourish, most physical attacks are met with violent force of shift chains.

Quetzal-Style Spear Skill: Flame Wheel - Using a powerful kick off the ground to innate the technique. Haewon spins herself rapidly, head over heels, using a subtle amount of flame to increase the speed of her spinning and giving it direction. This wheel of flame flies towards a target and upon reaching its destination, Haewon ends the technique by putting all the momentum behind the wheel into a powerful slash. The technique combines mobility and offensive power.

Haewon-Style Special Spear Skill: Valkyrie - Princess Haewon's most powerful skill. When she pushes herself to the utmost limit her Shinsoo begins to manifest as a pair of burning wings. With her Shinsoo quality given shape, they become more powerful and condensed. The fiery pair of wings produce a major amount of thrust allowing Haewon to launch herself spear first into her opposition. While Valkyrie is active she finds herself unable to use her flames for any other purpose and when the wings burn out, Haewon is fatigued and unable to produce more flames until she has rested.

Shinsoo Resistance: Very High

Weapons: Pocket (C-Rank), Pipe (C-Rank)

Naga (B-Rank), transforming chain spear that when extended has whip-like properties. Naga can be manipulated by shinsoo similar to reels.

History: Haewon was born to the Blitz family. Her family was a special one known for producing gifted Hwayeomsa who could convert their shinsoo into powerful flames second only to the Yeon Family. From a young age, Haewon and her younger sister Yewon showed exceptional talent as Hwayeomsa. The two girls were groomed for the purpose of becoming Princesses as they both showed exceptional potential and this, of course, bred a competitive streak between the girls. While they always remained fairly close in strength, Haewon always found herself one step ahead of her sister. The love between the two was great, however, they often found themselves at odds. Yewon desperately yearned to be a Princess and trained far harder than her older sister, while Haewon had almost no desire to be a Princess and instead just enjoyed spending time with her sister.

When it came time for the sisters to be nominated for Princesses there arose a dilemma. Zahard would only accept one daughter from the Blitz as they were not of the 10 families. So after deliberation, it was decided that the sisters would duel one on one for the position. This, of course, was only a courtesy as no one believed that Yewon could best her sister. Haewon was not happy with the situation she had been put in but before the fight began she came up with a plan that would ease her conscience. When the duel between sisters began Yewon fought her hardest, and likewise, Haewon matched her blow for blow, but when it came time to land the decisive blow that would have put her sister out Haewon decided to hesitate and gave Yewon an opening to defeat her. The Blitz family was puzzled by the outcome but surely the fruits of Yewon’s labor were finally bearing themselves is what they thought. And so Yewon hugged her sister and left with the Empire to be given Zahards blood and become a Princess. Haewon was happy her sister's dream was coming true. It was a win for everyone, or so she thought.

The following evening Yewon’s lifeless body was brought back before the Blitz family and informed them that the girl had not been strong enough to withstand Zahard’s blood. At the moment Haewon broke… this was her fault… she had let her sister win the right to become a Princess and enter a situation she wasn’t strong enough to handle. This sentiment sunk Haewon’s heart. The Empire gave her the choice to become a Princess of Zahard and undergo the same process that had taken her sister's life. Haewon accepted without hesitation.

Haewon now climbs the tower as a Princess of Zahard living out the dreams of her sister. She aims to reach the top of the tower in hopes that there exists a way to reverse Yewon’s unfortunate fate, even if it means giving up her own life.

Strongest Advanced Ranker (5th FUG Slayer)

Name: Shinyoo Hyek

Age: 3015 (Mental Age: 36)

Gender: Male

Q: Regular or Irregular? ->A: Regular (?)

Species (Living Ignition Weapon included): Human (?)

Appearance:

Personality:
Stubborn, determined, and bull-headed, once Shinyoo sets his mind on doing something, nothing can stop him. Whether it's climbing the tower without shinsoo manipulation or wooing a floor guardian to his side, Shinyoo feels like the type that can make the impossible possible. He's charismatic like that. It's his sheer confidence. Or arrogance. Depends on how you view it. Looking at him, one might think he's quite hot-headed and simple-minded...which is kind of true...but he's also very patient. And calculating. Like a hunter really. Or a good fisherman. Shinyoo is an instinctive type of person and will walk his own path regardless of what anyone says. Quite rebellious as well. He is unafraid of stepping into the unknown...even though he's somewhat directionally challenged.

Position: Fisherman, Spear-bearer.
__________________________________________________________________
Ranker (if you want to make a Ranker, just specify his rank): 1001, Spear Angler (when he was a high-ranker before Phantaminium showed up and bumped him down a rank)

_____________________________________________________________________

Affiliation (Zahard Empire, FUG, Wolhaiksong or neutral): FUG (5th Slayer, currently inactive), Zahard Empire (former captain of one of his assassination units), Ophidian (Item collector)

Abilities and skills:
  • Monstrous Physical Stats: Shinyoo climbed the tower using absolutely NO shinsoo manipulation and managed to become a high ranker (barely) to prove that he CAN...though it took him 2000 years to do so.
  • Excellent Shinsoo Sense: 2000 thousand years of climbing the tower will naturally do that to you, along with shinsoo resistance as your body adapts to high floors. At the very least, that's what happened with Shinyoo.
  • Body Reinforcement + Enhancement + Regeneration: Taught to him by Grace Mirchea Lusec when he joined FUG after he was finally convinced that it was the only way to make their dreams come true (kill Zahard), his is on the lvl that puts him on par with high rankers physically. When he uses it of course. Both Lusec and Wicker can verify that he's a monster when he does...but he doesn't like to.
  • The Hollow Socket: A passive technique that lets him suck in shinsoo (as well as physical objects) and send it into a different dimensional space. Obtained after Grace Mirchea Lusec crushed his eye, it's a little black hole that he can't really control. Hence the eyepatch.
  • Very skilled Spear Wielder: From wielding one in close combat, to aiming, to throwing it, Shinyoo has only ever used one weapon since obtaining it and hasn't bothered with anything else since. Even with only one eye, his ability to track and follow trajectory is frighteningly good (it was better with 2 eyes or so he keeps complaining to Lusec). After learning to enhance his eyesight with shinsoo some can swear he sees through walls or something.

Shinsoo resistance: Monstrous (for a Regular human)

Weapons (if any) +their capabilities:
  • The Empty Voyage (Grade SS) -> Rumored to be a piece of the 79th floor guardian itself, The Empty Voyage is a compressed spear with a chain whose true form is gi-normous. Incredibly resistant to shinsoo (practically immune) it glides through shinsoo as easily as one slices through butter. It also seems to be alive and actively protects its wielder. The chain stretches and ensnares the target while spear is thrown using whatever strength the wielder is able to muster, sailing through the air like a bullet with no resistance. It's also incredibly loyal to its wielder (Shinyoo) and will strangle anyone else that tries to touch it. The weapon is at its strongest when he's on the 79th floor.
History: He climbed the tower without ever using shinsoo manipulation. Can't remember why (been too long), though knowing him it was probably a dare of some sort. A challenge from his Fisherman instructor (bullying) when he was a bad student? Regardless, Shinyoo never touched shinsoo manipulation as he climbed, hence he is also known as one of the slowest rankers to make it up the tower. He was determined not to, even when others said he couldn't. However, with each floor he passed, he felt himself growing stronger (physically)...and the satisfaction of succeeding was far greater. At some point it became a high for him- not using shinsoo manipulation, yet managing beat those that do. However, he met his match on the 79th floor when shinsoo manipulation was ABSOLUTELY required to passing and no amount of bribing or cajoling seemed to affect the test director. So he went to the floor guardian...even though he was a regular. He spent 3 centuries on floor 79 trying to talk to the floor guardian and his efforts eventually managed to woo her to his side. No one knows for sure how it happened. Some say it was a love affair with a floor guardian. Others said the 79th floor director finally gave him some slack. Regardless, Shinyoo passed floor 79 with a new weapon in tow and it was smooth(ish) sailing from there (his weapon helped alot). I mean, it still took him 2 millennia to climb the tower.

Regardless, his efforts were acknowledged as High Ranker #1000, Spear Angler, a nickname based on his position and his weapon. He joined one of Zahard's assassination units and was eventually made captain, killing those that posed a "threat" to the tower and the Zahard Empire. He did so for 2 centuries, killing traitors, rouge princesses, FUG spies, even sabatoging/genociding an entire traitor species at Zahard's behest ...until he finally asked himself what the point was. A rat race to see who got the highest rank? Who could win the favor of the king? Zahard didn't care about any of them...not even his own daughters. And yet, he wouldn't let any of them continue climbing. A small part of him blamed Zahard for all the pointless deaths that stained Shinyoo's hands. However, a larger part of him wanted to continue climbing...to see the true top that Zahard wouldn't let them see. In that sense, Shinyoo's thoughts aligned more with Wolhaiksong than deep hatred for Zahard...but he also knows that the king wouldn't let them climb so long as he and his empire exists. He also grew to dislike the tower's system in which high rankers (or people from great families) get all the riches while those of lower ranks don't. In his mind, it's a sh*tty system that restricts those born weaker. Therefore, upon meeting Grace Mirchea Lusec, Shinyoo joined FUG as the 5th Slayer and trained with the rebel. Certainly many of FUG's members weren't the nicest people, but at least they were doing SOMETHING to propagate change.

Shinyoo wasn't present when Phantaminium caused havoc in Zahard's castle, having already joined FUG, so he never got to see the face of the guy that dropped him from high ranker status. Not that Shinyoo cares. He refuses to be judged by Zahard's system of ranks which is one of the reason he avoids using shinsoo manipulation, unless he really has to, and doesn't care about losing a fight (unless it results in his death). Shinyoo became inactive around the time that a certain irregular named Evelyn Wicker started climbing the tower. As a FUG Slayer, he'd been given a secret mission to recruit the irregular to their side. There's a rumor he's still undergoing that mission...though, given no one's heard from him in a while, some believed Evelyn might've killed him too.

Accepted as part of lore for now.

Lieutenant of the Zahard Royal Guard (NPC)
68f9b2a88e921f6ba6838f5831f47e29.jpg
Name: Clarent Po Bidau

Age (preferably 150 years old+ mental age, exceptions considered): 874 (Mental Age: 20)

Gender: Male

Q: Regular or Irregular? ->A: Regular

Species (Living Ignition Weapon included): Half human, Half Red Witch

Personality: Lawful good, loyal, and kind, Clarent is an idealist that likes to see the best in others, but, at the same time, will be merciless towards the ones who harm the ones he cares for (or the ones he's sworn to protect). That's why he can't forgive his father for being involved in his mother's death even if the logical part of his brain knows that it isn't completely Gustang's fault. Clarent is the sort that is unfailingly loyal to the ones that he's grown to respect...but not blindingly so. He will act in a way that he believes to be best for them. This arrogance comes from being able to see fate and trusting the instincts which half his blood possesses. While he doesn't actually like to fight, he has no problems with drawing his sword when need be. Clarent follows a knightly code of chivalry and honor and won't raise a blade against any he's sworn to protect, which includes all of Zahard's princesses, unless they REALLY insist (like Murin), they order him, they challenge/train him (Adori), or they turn traitor. Even then, he won't likely kill them unless he feels he really has to. Clarent respects the rankings as he's been taught in the royal guard, but also sees (to a limited degree) the fate and potential of others. Therefore he doesn't really look down or regulars or a lower rank than him. He believes that every person has a destiny to fulfill and, while not all the destinies may be grand, they all play a part in a bigger picture.

Despite that, it's his belief in fate that holds him back. Because he's fully aware of the sort of future in store for him, he'd never once tried to break the limits of what he sees he's capable of. In other words, Clarent isn't the type to go PLUS ULTRA. He's a genius held back by his own beliefs and morals. Yet it's his own beliefs and morals (as well as loyalty to the Zahard Family) that let him desire a fate in which the king of the tower is changed for the better rather than a full on revolution. He intends to change the tower, but within the confines of the law, and doesn't care how long it takes. He's determined to do things the "right" way and has faith one of the princesses will be able to do it. Adori is the one he has the most faith in. She's the one he's backing. While he isn't blind, he will sometimes will willing turn a blind eye towards the faults of those he's loyal to/cares for. Clarent has no special feelings towards the Po Bidau family. Truthfully, he's surprised he hasn't been disowned yet.

Position: Perfect all-rounder, though his first was Light Bearer.

High Ranker (if you want to make a Ranker, just specify his rank): 88th, The Red Knight

Affiliation (Zahard Empire, FUG, Wolhaiksong or neutral): Zahard Empire

Abilities and skills:
  • Arms Mastery: From needles to swords to spears to guns, Adori has trained him in various weapons. His best though is still a sword/needle and he's practiced in a royal fencing style.
  • All Around Genius: 50 bangs, 50 light houses, 50 spears, as well as body reinforcement and observer use, Clarent is the type of soldier that can step in an position and pick things up quickly depending on what his situation calls for. You think that'd make him a jack of all trades/master of none type of character, but no. He's actually pretty decent any role, sometimes better than the original. The only position he doesn't really have a grip of is anima and some of the more special positions because those require natural innate talent. The shinsoo he manipulates takes the form of fire and light.
  • Skilled tactician: Clarent is smart. Might be the Po Bidau blood in him, but he's a quick study in whatever he chooses to learn. That's why he's Adori's strategist...along with his precognition.
  • Precognition: This is the ability that pushed him into the top 100 of rankers. Trained for battle, his innate talent to see fate as a witch is honed to let him see certain amount of steps into the future. When fighting it gives him an edge in predicting his opponent's moves (he's not really predicting) and quickly countering with the best response. The best strategies. However, there are some things that can't be stopped even when he knows they are coming. It's among the top 100 that Clarent sees where his limits are physically against those that are able to surpass the future he sees. This ability also doesn't seem to work on irregulars which is why he's able to tell who they are...when he doesn't feel a mild headache in their presence.
Shinsoo resistance: What you'd expect of a high ranker.

Weapons (if any) +their capabilities:

  • Fire Resistant Cape (Grade A) - Resists fire.
  • Rhomburst (Ignition Weapon, Grade C -> B) -> A thick red needle that engulfs itself in flames when ignited, capable of melting through steel. Its piercing power triples and once it pierces its target, the user can release all the stored heat to cause the target to burst into flames or explode.

1589729247081.png

History: Born because of Gustang Po Bidau's interest in guides, Clarent's mother was one of Gustang's many mistresses and a Red Witch (though not a Ranker). She'd been part of Gustang's research and, even though the woman loved him and did everything she could to get his attention, Gustang didn't even bat an eyelash when the woman died in one of his experiments. She had volunteered, despite being warned of potential danger, was how Gustang had washed the blame from his hands. Clarent was taken into the main Po Bidau family not long after. Some said it was because he of the guilt and pity he felt for the boy who'd lost his mother. Though Clarent knew that the aloof Gustang only wanted to continue his research on guides and Clarent was an interesting speciman to him. The male child of a witch and a human. Even as a child, Clarent had gotten a sense of what sort of man his father was...and, unlike his mother, he wasn't blinded by infatuation for the Head of the Po Bidau Family. She'd chosen her path, despite knowing the consequences, but knowing that didn't make Clarent hate the man any less.

Despite the early parts of his years being raised outside the main family, Clarent proved no less deserving of the Po Bidau name compared to his half siblings. He was a brilliant child. Clarent wasn't even a century old when he was selected to be a part of the Research Association...which he denied to spite his father. Instead, he chose to climb the tower and obtain freedom from his father's grasp. He chose the way of the sword just to piss his father off, training under various sword instructors, martial artists, and fighters as he climbed. He also refused to take the test for the guide position even though he was qualified for it, much to Gustang Po Bidau's displeasure.

Instead, after becoming a ranker, he joined the Zahard Royal Guard, swearing his blade to the Zahard Family, and trained under Adori Zahard, eventually rising to the ranks of her lieutenant (of the Royal Guard) despite his youth. At first, he did it just to annoy his father (very clear daddy issues), but Clarent grew quite fond of Adori and came to like his job, as well as the people he worked with. He mainly serves as Adori's strategist and does the work she's too lazy to do (which is practically all of it). One of those duties is sitting in the panel of judges for the Princess Selection Test. Clarent can't even count the number of times he's had to turn down bribes from Ranker and Great Family members alike trying get their daughters chosen. Little wonder Adori avoids it like the plague. Politics and all that stuff had never really been her thing. While he himself is aware of his father's involvement in the creation of the competition, and the dangers involved, he also believes that the king could be changed if he were to choose a wife and fall in love. In that sense, he's very much an idealist. Or he's letting his loyalty towards the Zahard Family cloud his judgement. One or the other. Given his knowledge of the tragedy that befell her highness Enne (his elder half-sister), and the Eurasia family's dissent against the selection test, he was surprised to find a certain young Eurasia among the candidates ( The One Eyed Bandit The One Eyed Bandit ). Though she didn't pass, she certain made an...impact.

Given his job in directing the Royal Guard (whenever Adori doesn't feel like working), and seat as one of the princess test judges (actually Adori's), Clarent has met many of the younger princesses and even some of the older ones that still remain in Zahard's castle on the 134th floor, though he mainly makes his home in the 132th floor where Adori lives. The only one he hasn't yet met personally is Akasha Zahard ( Azure Sky Azure Sky ), because she disappeared before his time, though he's heard quite a bit about her from Adori Zahard and has seen pictures of her such that he's fairly sure he'd recognize her if he sees her. That, and he also trusts his gut (Red Witch sense) about people. Despite his loyalty towards the Zahard Empire, he never ousted Helios Prime as an irregular to the king despite recognizing him as one at first sight, nor Evelyn Wicker, both of whom he is certain is stronger and more dangerous than they appear. He first met Evelyn when the irregular had been taking the guide position test, which he'd rejected after deciding to join the Royal Guard, and was told by said irregular that he'd "limited his own potential by seeing too much". Given Evelyn's tendency to slip by the rules of the tower and Clarent's tendency to reinforce it, the two don't really get along. He's got a bit of a thing for Yongsung Murin Zahard, but he would never act on it, so it's a moot thing really. When he doesn't have any work to do, he sometimes visits the residential areas of the lower floors and helps where he can making him quite a popular Ranker among the tower's citizens.

High Rankers top at around 50 Baangs, with Irregulars being exceptions. Modify that and he will be accepted as lore (for now).
