Negative emotions/sin you were born from:
born from regret and self-loathing
History: They were created weak, but despite avoiding humans, slowly grew in power. Matching what they were born from, they hated that they were a phantom. Others had tried to get them to create an army, but they had refused. Instead they wander the world, starving themself because they doesn't want to hurt any spirits, although this can lead to them losing control over themself and attacking both spirits and humans. When they have control, they will see waht they can learn about humans out of pure curiosity.
Current Relationships: tbd
Personality: Often distant and depressed. They do not say what they are thinking, whether it be about themself or others, unless they are required to. Instead they show what they are feeling through actions, maybe jumping to save someone, or going to the window of a candy store. They are much more talkative when theyre scared.
Strengths/Virtues: Selflessness, strength
Weaknesses/Flaws: Selflessness, self-loathing, no confidence

    Nomoto
    0f006a8211346e4d60d0c546a9f8db5f.jpg
    The Joker Name: Nomoto Kurayami

Alternative Names/Title: Minor Deity of Tricksters, Thieves, Performers, Mischief, Fire, Gambling, Strife, Serpents, Messengers, Jokers, Misfortune (& Fortune)

Appearance: Standing at a height of 5'10', Nomoto Kurayami possesses the body of athlete with an average body shape, hidden under a shirts and jacket, and his ginger hair tends to remain upright and to the side, almost diagonal and pointing in the direction of the wind, as well as creating a few bangs here and there. With an eyepatch covering over one side of his face, a piercing green eyes often retains a humanoid shape unless angered or feeling quite devious, in which the iris will narrow slightly, becoming more oval, and the pupil will narrow into a slit, similar to a wild beast's. A small tattoo runs along the underside of his exposed eye and he often wears a headband with scale-like decals and details to go along with his looped earrings. His shirts tend to be a dark greyish black with a bit of green running along the buttons and seams as well as be wearing a light grey pants with a black belt and black books along with a black coat with grey motifs is atop the entire ensemble to match his black, fingerless gloves on his hands. Usually, he tends to wear a red scarf around his neck unless when occasion calls for its removal. A small compartment, a pouch, is wrapped around his right leg.

Age: Nomoto Kurayami appears to be about in his early twenties, but his true age is indeterminate, being born around 10 years ago during the AFAH debacle. He claims to have forgotten the exact specifics of the wish he was born from, and, thus, when exactly he was born. A few claim that he was a human who became deified through a wish.

    Gender: Male

Phantom
助野嘉昭_@双星_無料試し読み中 (@sukeno0723).jpeg

"All of you bastards really get my bowels turning; even lower than the damn dirt. The only way for subhuman vermin like you to achieve redemption is through due punishment."

Name: 復讐 Fukushū, Nox

Age: 250+ years plus the ones he can't remember, appearing as a man in his mid-twenties.

Appearance:
Nox could accurately be described by anyone as a katana wielding psychopathic magician in his mid twenties. Being above average height and hiding a decently built frame underneath his extravagant attire, Nox tends to stand out from any crowd he finds himself in. Sporting a long crown of messy hair, with two bangs standing out and falling onto his shoulders, parted twice to frame his imposing gaze. Said hair is split between an intense dark-brown color on his left side, and an ashen white on his right side. The thing that stands out from his looks being the intense heterochromia on his right eye, giving it an spectral purplish taint along with a darkened sclera; adding extra intimidation to his already judgemental stare.

Nox's style is somewhat befitting to that of an eccentric magician or a manic cosplayer, normally seen donning the same old Victorian-looking white blazer with a button up vantablack dress shirt underneath. A black top hat crowning his head, googly eyes and a wicked smile decorating said top hat.

Complementing the whole alice in wonderland look with a blue flower as neckwear; said to represent all the lies he's had to swallow over the years. Of course he only gives this story as an effective intimidation tactic. He only choose it because it looked great on him.

Whenever he's "Off to work" there's always a newly forged katana on his back. Not because he's a master swordsman, he has it more or less for the show (besides, swinging the damned thing his rather entertaining for him)

Negative emotions/sin you were born from: "Vendetta, Revenge, Vengeance, Reprisal, Retribution! The tainted heart's desire for pure retaliation!"

History:
Once in a far away shore, an agonizing roar thunderously resounded all throughout. Born of the concentration of humanity's raw hatred, the embodiment of a reprising promise had awoken.

Nox first experience with the world was that of a disgusting headache and an unquenchable thirst for revenge, an innate feeling implanted onto him by others powerful need for it.

He could feel it crawling through his veins like a maddening venom, as if the constant sense of rage dwelling in humanity's heart were engraved to the back of his brain. Feeling the people's despair, fear and bloodlust is what overtook him; driving him into spending most of his years punishing the scum of the earth.

Until the feeling soothed itself out as generations marched on, as civilization became more— Well, civilized.

Now he spends his peaceful modern day era feeding of off impure spirits, ignoring the more benevolent ones and picking fights with other phantoms just for the hell of it. Always lurking in the shadows, awaiting for those deserving of punishment.

Although he's found his main source of energy, impure spirits, rapidly decreasing due to the gods activity. And he plans to either have a nonsensical, polite discussion with them about how they should tone it down, or an all out war. Honestly, he was just bored when he thought of this plan.

Personality: At first, Nox appears to be a somewhat unstable individual who demonstrates violent and psychopathic tendencies, manifested in his lack of remorse and ease at feeding off of the corrupted. He does not seem to hold any sort of feelings for his violent ways; he usually forgets about them very easily.

Sometimes he can either be an impatient and reserved man whose only focus is to get the job done as quick as possible. Other times he's a kind, sentimental mess willing to do anything in his power to solve an unfair situation; in the end it all just boils down to: "Did he have his herbal tea this morning?"

Beneath this confounding, rough around the edges exterior, he really is a kind-hearted spirit with good moral values (In his own way of course). In reality, he acts like a madman because of all the horrid nightmares and vivid hallucinations haunting him since his birth.

His more humane side is often cast aside when it comes to dealing with those he deems as "trash", but a light shines though when injustice dares happens before his eyes; a light that solves things in a very morbid and sadistic way, to say the least. He truly is just another broken soul trying to make amends with his past in any way he possibly can.

Not once has he driven a human into taking his own life and whenever he punishes someone he always tries to teach them a lifelong lesson. The learning process of this lesson being extremely painful.

He shows a somewhat parental behavior towards this certain hallucination of a highschool girl that follows him around, engaging in long thought provoking conversations with her and even reading samurai-themed manga together when he's "on break". His "therapist" visualises this personification of a highschooler as an undying fragment of his longing for innocence.

Strengths/Virtues:
•Unrelenting
•Has some scary wits about him and can be extremely cunning when need be
•Most of his combats tend to be an unilateral domination (That is, whenever he gets to plan the combat beforehand)
•Terrifying scheming
•Master of deception

Weaknesses/Flaws:
•Never knows when to give up
•His moral compass isn't always correct
•Easily irritated
•His perpetual state of anger can cloud his judgment sometimes
•Condescending

Fears: The thought of hurting one of the many defenseless and pure beings he claims to seek vengeance for haunts him everyday. Knowing that as a phantom, this is a mayor weakness to be exploited, it ends up gaining on his sanity.

Abilities:

Wrath
— Others actions build up on his psyche, bursting into an empowering emotion that burns inside him. This emotion is then used as fuel to alter his physical output, becoming more and more relentless as his anger further develops. This ability builds up an extreme amount of fatigue in Nox body.

Judgment— If you are a target of Nox's rage, you will feel an imposing sensation as you lock eyes with him. An unnerving existential dread that may or may not make you freeze in your tracks the more you stare deep into his eyes.

Authority— Nox is capable of altering kinetic forces to his will. Being able to redirect incoming attacks with the proper technique, as well as sending anything within his grasp flying into the nearest wall with brutal force. Although this flashy trick of his is rendered useless whenever he losses concentration.

Current relationships: His hallucinary daughter and the spirit of a deceased psychiatrist he hangs around with whenever he gets emotional.

Misc: He's actually a pretty skilled craftsman, being able to draw, cook and create stuff in general better than the majority. This oddly specific set of skills were achieved due to a lack of interest in non-procrastinational activities.

He also has a considerably large stash of samurai/shinobi themed manga. For no particular reason, he just really seems to enjoy that genre.

An easy way to get his gears turning is to make fun of his way of dress. However, no-ones ever lived to tell the tale after they mocked his self-proclaimed immaculate drip, sadly.

Phantom of Envy
77688144_p0.png
Ai_Chizuka

Age:
??? (15 years in human form)

Gender:
Female

Appearance:
77688144_p2.png
Ai's human form takes on a rather fantastical appearance, and it is clear from a single glance that she has no intention of trying to appear human. She instead chooses to adopt the image of a virtual idol, bearing long white hair with black spots, tied up into giant twin tails by large crystal rings. Two more of those rings hover above her head, seemingly holding two crystals shaped like lightning. She wears a white, cropped tank top with black undershirt and shorts, exposing her belly. She dons a transparent skirt that bears a couple of stickers featuring fictional brands. Without the platforms on her white boots, she stands at about 5'6". She can adopt a smaller, more compact form that resembles a little chick, seemingly made out of electricity.

Negative emotions/sin you were born from:
Envy

History:
Humanity has always had envy stewing in their hearts. From the beginning of time itself, perhaps, or just a time long, long ago, the Phantom now known as Ai_Chizuka came into this world, a weak little creature that peered up at the humans that stood above it, always skittering around at their feet, going from person to person. Envy was the birth of many other sins, and from there, its just rewards were snatched from its jaws by stronger, bigger, much more vicious Phantoms, and for that reason alone, this pathetic being that called itself a Phantom could relate so well with humanity itself. There were always better Phantoms, stronger ones, and for the longest time, all the Phantom of Envy had for itself was scraps from the people around it. Many years passed, and soon its time began to shine. With the rise of printing press, and subsequently tabloid articles, envy for others far away began to stew in the hearts of mankind. The distance made it impossible for many to act on their envious thoughts, and so, the Phantom of Envy fed on those emotions, finally content that it had something to sate its appetite. Once or twice, it found better morsels, corrupting them to act on their most murderous thoughts. A lover spurned for another, an office worker turned down for promotion in the light of someone younger, that sort of thing. It was, however, in these corruptions that she began to find something else. Envy occasionally built character instead. Some humans became stronger out of their envy. Motivated by their losses, they began to work ever harder. Realising this, something manifested inside the Phantom of Envy. It wondered what that feeling was, as it continued its pursuit of survival.

Its evolution finally came to a head when the internet, or more accurately, social media became a real thing in the world. With every flick of the finger and every press of a button, every image of the latest model and every video of an extravagant holiday trip became available. Dark thoughts stirred within many, even as they laughed and pressed the funny reactions on their devices. They wanted to have that life. They wanted out of this crappy one that they had. Why couldn't they be like the newest, hottest actor? Why did their friends have to be born to rich parents? Why did they have to suffer? With that overwhelming flood of envy, Ai_Chizuka was created. Having been created by the popularity of electronics, is there any surprise that she, herself, was based on the most commonly available devices known to man?

With the subsequent rise of online idols, she herself took that form, taking to the airwaves to make a reputation for herself. It all started as an idea of hers- by projecting an outwardly successful image to the world, people will feel envy towards her, feeding her even more. However, while it certainly did work on some, the majority instead fell for her, showering this quirky, overnight idol with affection. Genuinely surprised, the Phantom decided there was no better option than to...continue doing what she was doing, haunting the internet. Even so, she cannot discard her true nature, and still patrols the electric streets of Japan in search for her next meal.

Current Relationships:
TBD

Place in the underworld:
???

Personality:
Chirpy and bright, even when prodding and deepening the delusions of those driven by envy, Ai, as she prefers to be known, is a energetic and cheerful Phantom who claims that she loves everyone. Whether it's true or not, she seems intent and content on producing content like covers and music videos online to apparently lift up the hearts and morales of her viewers. She claims, and truly believed that she is the closest in heart to the human race, much closer than those scummy holier-than-thou Gods, and the other weirdo Phantoms- want has always been a nature of human race. After all, never has anyone gone through their lives, glancing over at their neighbour, and not thought 'Man, I wish I had what they had'. It's natural, and it has only gotten even more natural come the rise of internet fame.

She speaks in a rather family-friendly way, avoiding certain key words and using either euphemisms or bowdlerized her curses, like 'damn' to 'drat' or 'darn', to list an example. It certainly helps to tone down her threat level, at least appearance-wise, and allows people to drop their guard much easily around her.

That having been said, she is still a Phantom, and though she appears sweet, she still eggs others on their pursuit of envy and hatred. Her strange sense of morality reasons that it can't be all that bad, since envy occasionally drives others to better themselves to match their peers, and that's a good thing. The rest that wallow in their sorrow and misery and make life for themselves and everyone else miserable is totally none of her business though. She does make an attempt to dissuade them, out of the supposed kindness in her non-existent heart, but more often than not, she leaves them to their own devices. Whether her influence has corrupted their souls or not, it is out of her hands. This is the nature of things, and who is she to change it? Let the Gods settle it- they have to be good for something, right?

Strengths/Virtues:
  • For a Phantom, she's awfully nice to everyone, including those darned Gods.
  • Her abilities are especially potent and effective in this era, due to how necessary electricity is. Due to how widespread electricity is, even catching her is a chore and a half.
  • Ai, having lived next to humans for a large part of her life, understands them just as well, if not much better, than many of her peers, Gods, and even some humans themselves.
  • She's very well-informed and well-read. You'd have to be if you plan to be what amounts to be a ghost in machines.

Weaknesses/Flaws:
  • She's a little impatient and hyperactive. She hates sitting around, and prefers to be on the move or at least doing something.
  • She's physically the least imposing of the crowd of human-like Phantoms, and is pretty fragile.
  • Whether she uses her knowledge of humanity for good or for her own sake is largely up to her whims at the time, though.
  • Her position currently is 'on the fence', or, in her own words, 'don't know, don't care wwwwww'. She is just as likely as to egg someone on to go through with drastic measures as she is to stop them from doing just that. Her entire being is focused on survival, and as long as she gets food, she's fine either way things shake out. As long as there is someone better, envy will always exist, and she will always be there.

Fears:
She is afraid of becoming irrelevant to the world, her existence like dust in the wind, to forever be nothing and no one of importance.

Special abilities:
Electricity: Ai can manipulate electricity in her environment, absorbing them into herself, or discharging it from herself. This allows her to easily power down an entire block of buildings if she so pleases, or literally shock someone. She also comes in handy as a walking, talking phone charger.

Electrical Travel: She can travel along electrical currents, allowing her to disappear and reappear at literal lightning speeds if the environment allows it. Using this method, she can easily hijack mobile phones and remain in them as a tagalong stowaway.

Video Manifestation: Ai can manifest on the screens of electrical appliances. She also seemingly takes control of the screen, making it seem as if she has hacked the system. It isn't anything as complicated as that. It is more as if she changes the input of the screen to her own personal one, and copies the previous screen to make it seem as if she is interacting with it. She can also eschew the whole thing and just appear on the current screen.

Media Creation: She can create videos and images featuring herself, and utilise music or sound files she has copied in these videos.

Limited Online Interaction: By using a stray computer connected to the internet, usually the ones in internet cafes, she can create accounts and post things onto certain social media sites.

Theme Song:

Others:
Her name is a pun on 'ikazuchi', written backwards. It is simply written as is, without using kanji. Her social media accounts use the same name.
She tends to cover 80s and 90s songs, or make similar songs, more so than modern songs.

Original Name: Hisakata Shigenobu

Spirit/Current Name(s): Nobu

Vessel Name(s): TBD

Human Appearance:

b1737e5e-a69d-4997-9a86-d0bda34e9571.jpeg

彩 (@ayairooo) on Twitter.jpeg

Being unusually short for a guy (5'1) most tower over him, and more often than not he's ridiculed for this lack of stature. Nobu has short spiky dark red hair and is often seen with the same 'dark robes under plain jacket' outfit, showing off an extremely informal and nearly barbaric demeanor. A chain necklace and a string of prayer beads hanging from his belt are his two characteristic accesories that remain unchanged.

Weapon/Item Appearance(s): TBD

Age: Appears to be in his late teens/early twenties. In actuality, he died at the age of 23 and has been roaming around as a spirit for about 5 years.

Gender: Male

God’s Greatest Secret:
They say there's a very faint limbo between bravery and stupidity, but there he was. Bleeding like a fountain, giving it his hardest to hold onto that trance preventing him from feeling the throbbing pain running through his body. Lying in the cold asphalt of a semi-familiar highway, with a poker face that hid a seemingly unending tingle of agony, a pain that simply refused to fade away.

An almost repulsive gossip building around him, his bubble of disdain began taking size as the voices in the crowd of snoopers surrounding him grew unbearable.

Recalling the last thing he heard before his consciousness received the hardest hit from reality. The horn of a desperate driver. Trying to divert the vehicle heading straight towards him. Twas all in vain, however. He could barely distinguish sky from earth right now.

Then a distant sob resounding in his eardrums got him back on his senses. Turning to his side, he noted a blurred figure on its knees. Pouring every ounce of his remaining willpower into his eyes, he saw her. A dark-brown haired highschooler, approximately fifteen to seventeen years, donning a characteristic school uniform he recognized very well; a platinum necklace reflecting the blinding sunlight onto his retinas. She was from Shirotome high, the same school he used to attend.

She had burst into tears and was now resting her face on his chest. The pressure sure did feel like hell, but the alluring warmth coming off from her appeased both the pain and the gelid grasp of death.

Being close enough for that sweet aroma of— "Flowers?" — to pierce his nostrils, it was a rather bizarre mixture of newfound feelings making haste in his frail heart. That burning sensation as her tears seeped through the open wounds in his chest made him despise her, but that comforting feel her presence gave made his emotions flutter and lose themselves in that instant charm she had over him; it was damn confusing, to say the least.

Though he tried to remember, he simply couldn't recognize this person at all, the only thing that stood out from her appearance being that characteristic uniform.

Nevertheless, the girl shed tears for him - "Th-Thank you!!!...." - Amidst all the gagging and choppy crying one could've faintly heard weak words of gratitude, a 'thank you' seemingly delivered with perhaps too much sadness in its tone. "Thank you? What'd I do?" Throughout a performance capable of melting that iceberg dwelling in the heart of the most frivolous man alive, the whole crowd remained in complete and total silence. As they listened to her sobbing, their faces slowly grew saddened, their brains simply couldn't fully process the heartbreaking scene in front of them.

It was as if that vivid taste of despair and helplessness were wrapped around his tongue.

Then the thought dawned on him —"Did I really just jump in front of a speeding car to save a complete stranger? Guess they weren't joking when they said my recklessness knew no limits, huh..." A feeble sigh of surrender escaping from him, as he remembered the way his mother always despised that idiotic chivalry he inherited from his father.

Although it was too late to heed her warnings, he couldn't help but show off a smile. A cynical smirk that turned into a more pained one as the wish to console the damsel in distress only grew stronger. But alas, all this knight in shining armor could hardly articulate was that of a frail gargle of blood leaving his mouth.

"This just keeps getting more and more depressing..." After a few seconds, the pain simply faded away, leaving behind only a thin layer of ice that stretched far across his body until it took all its heat away. Or at least that's how it felt at the moment.

His name was Hisakata Shigenobu, just another unemployed modern failure in his mid-twenties. One you could precisely describe as the average loser you'd see roaming down the streets in your day-to-day life. Having no talent whatsoever, an academic background that does not stand out at all, socially considered the person that everyone unconsciously avoids, and economically at the edge of the abyss.

You would usually find him rotting away at the office, perhaps working hard on those extra hours for that delightful minimum wage, perhaps rethinking his already infernal schedule, perhaps with a face worthy of the biggest idiot, stumbling over every vague thought crossing his hollowed out skull.

Other times you'd find a work crazed insomniac and a trail of cigarette smoke following him, like a spider crawling in its own silk. Looking for the nearest bar where he could disconnect from reality. 'Today' was spent like any other, letting myself be carried away by the passage of time, following the routine to the letter.

It wasn't even two o'clock in the morning when he decided to go to that dive bar that he found in the more deserted part of town. Again.

He went out under the scorching summer sun with the conviction of meeting his beloved, even if it were for the last time, a bottle of cheap whiskey with a thousand impurities. Willing to sacrifice his money, his liver and his time on this earth just for the promise of feeling that rejuvenating nectar of the gods burning its way down his throat.

The passers-by were few, and the sun rays passing through that diffuse haze blurring itself in the regular, poor atmosphere told him that this was going to be one of those days. "Same shit, different day."

Shige's tedium came to an end when he finally found the place where all the jesters from every corner of the city were turned into self-proclaimed geniuses, like a divine palace whose entrance was only allowed to those blessed by a benevolent god, but for almost everyone it was just another simple subway den filled to the brim with lowly nobodies.

The place was filled to the brim with people waiting for the opportunity to abuse others, and people waiting for the opportunity to be abused by others, somehow he felt some sort of kinship with all of them, each with one story more depressing than the other.

But that day he was the star.

He could still remember that raspy voice that was heard on the other side of the phone "Your mother passed away." - Sharp, dry words without a shred of emotion in them. As if a cancer patient deserved no more commemoration than those words, as if her death had carried no weight.

It was at that precise moment Shige discovered what a life was worth. It was worth the drink capable of numbing out that half-assed, indecisive heart of his.

After all, once you got drunk, it didn't matter that you were just another hypocrite in the crowd, on the lookout for a gentle lie to fill that emptiness in your chest, hunting like an animal for that promise capable of killing loneliness and bringing you momentary happiness; no, nothing mattered anymore, all that mattered was to pass the drink quickly and go straight to the next one.

It was like any other night, getting wasted until he didn't recognize the shape of his own hands, his drinking buddies being his shadow and the hallucination induced by excess alcohol accompanying him.
The cicadas orchestrated their off-key melody all the while he silently admired his loneliness, the world just kept going. "Nothing interesting for today." Or so he thought.

Fresh out the oven and over drinks was when he saw her.

A girl brimming with all the energy a human being could harbor inside it, chasing her friends who were shouting her name across the road, without lending a single one of her concerns to the world around her. Once she finally set foot on the pavement, the intense reddish glow of the traffic light warned him she'd already gone too far.

Shige's eyes fell on that sleeping driver at the wheel, his heart seemed to be in a fight with his chest, and his brain was suffering from so much scheming on the different stages. He could see with an otherworldly clarity how the abhorrently boring road was suddenly painted red, hundreds of silhouettes petrified by the bloodstain that used to be a well spirited girl, a world writhing in a surreal bloody agony that slowly strangled the hearts of everyone around him. He just couldn't live with it eating away at his conscience.

So he took a step forward and decided to do what every cliche hero would do; Put all his strength into one run and pushing her out of the way.

As to what sophisticated cognitive process he had at the time, it was something along the lines of — "Car, girl, save." — Truly a modern-day Socrates.

The world began to spin and after the most confusing seconds of his life, Shigenobu found himself in that bleeding agony that left a scar on everyone's heart.

By no means would these be the tragic origins of his journey in the fight against organized crime, however. The fact that he was still breathing was practically a damn miracle.

"I'd say I have a few more minutes left before I kick the bucket..." Contemplating a bit more on the situation, he honestly thought death would be a bit less... anticlimactic. Life was sure a conflicted mess, but he wished to atleast get some strangers to mourn a river with a final inspirational speech. But as it always occurred to him, Shige was just too distracted to give even a third of his attention to the people around him.

"Maybe I'm exaggerating... The world won't stop spinning just because another loner bit the dust." Were his final thoughts before the blackened wings of death took him away.

Afterlife Experiences:
Taking the smallest glance around him, only one question came to mind —"How the hell did this happen?"

His factions became more and more expressionless, as if something were slowly devouring his emotions, steadily increasing that looming uneasiness setting in. The obfuscating mess of never-ending ideas jumbling up his mind made it hard to understand why the place was in ruins in the first place. Hell, he no longer recognized the scenery before him.

The roaring sounds of the rising flames echoed loudly in his ears. A sharp noise resounding as the once beautifully crafted wood snapped when the flames consumed it, falling to the soil and making a final dull thud. He didn't quite wrap his head around the idea of such an acute sound being so unbearable, painful, maddening even —"Who would do such a thing..."

Even so, there was still something preventing him from loosing grip on his sanity. Drifting his gaze downwards, a quavering hand held onto a string of prayer beads, the sight reminding him of the promise he made with his god to protect his shrine from the AFAH.

"Maybe there's still something I can do-"— But his train of thought was cut short by another voice, his heart missing several steps as he heard it.

"Nobu."— The hand holding the prayer beads clammed shut, and as if on cue, his whole body froze still. A stuttering sigh representing the purest of dreads leaving his mouth.

A nauseating sensation welled up inside him — Shame? No, this thing ate him alive. Made him feel an out of place guilt, as if he were the monster that allowed for the place to burn down. And as he stood there motionless, the feeling only grew stronger.

All those countless hours he spent training hard to live up to his god's expectations, all the days gone to waste understanding the ins and outs of this new world of gods and spirits; it all felt meaningless. After all, he'd failed, the blazing shrine on ruins was living proof of that.

But he had to take responsibility for what his carelessness had led up to —"It was my fault!"— Shooting a quick bow and remaining with his head low, he hoped for the worst. His god had given him a second chance at the world of the living, and he could simply take that gift away as fast as it was given.

"I-I shouldn't have slacked off on duty, I should've-" But he was once again cut short, this time by jovial laughter.

"What's with that face!? It's not like we don't have any other shrines left. Cheer up, kid. It's not the end of the world, yet!" The god yapped back with his usual jolly attitude, adding the finishing touch with a playful pull of the spirit's crimson hair and a self-assertive smile.

That overjoyed smirk, always drawn on his face, to this very day it still bothered Nobu. Something gloomy was transmitted in Nobu's eyes at that moment, not even noticing it himself, only feeling his innards revolving at the self-loathing piling up within.

He was the lowest of the scum to roam this earth, so just why did his eyes seem so gentle and welcoming still? —"It's so goddamn unfair, man..."— Sight still fixated onto the soil, he clenched the prayer beads harder. His voice increasingly turning weak with each insufferable second.

"Why are you always smiling like nothing fazes you?... I just don't get it... How are you this calm about everything? What happened here is unforgivable!" His stance becoming more stiff, he turned a desperate look at his god.

However, to his surprise, the god responded with the same overzealous laughter as before —"Ah, my bad. It's just that you reminded me of an old discussion I had with a friend."— Letting go of a sigh, the god pledged surrender, sitting on the ground cross-legged with a more relaxed face.

"Was around the Sengoku period. We we're more or less kicking it around the same question." As he thoughtfully glared at the night sky, the most honest smirk bloomed on his face, as if he were going back through nostalgic memoirs "His name was Jun'ichi Sōma, arguably one of the first jobs I ever had. Jun always seemed so chirpy and bright, always coming out with a wide grin from even the harshest of situations. And I just happened to never understand why... So I asked away." He paused for a brief moment, his eyes adopting a more saddened look, his smile seemingly unfaltering "He told me, 'This smile is what keeps my brothers and sisters from fending off for themselves. Seeing how motivated they get when they see it on me, gives me enough energy to fight for them. It keeps my world going, so you might as well say I have the biggest burden on my shoulders.' He sounded so upfront about it that I might've just ended up tagging along on his antics throughout the years! Though he was probably just drunk out of his mind when he told me that story."

Nobu failed to recall anything other than bursting into tears and being laughed at after that night. A day later, his god had disappeared without a trace.

Current Relationships: TBD

Personality:
Often being referred to as an ever-so exhilarated buffoon, always sporting a wide cheerful smile and laughing wholeheartedly at even the harshest situations, Nobu is he who dangles in-between that finite silver lining of heroism and plain stupidity; never knowing when NOT to show an overboard, showy flair as he recklessly zooms across that frail seesaw he's usually on. His downright absurd nonchalance seems to hold nonexistent qualms when it comes to anything, reaching a certain point where one would think he could get stabbed to death and still get a good chuckle at it, all the while cracking a classic out of his wide repertoire of trademark cynical jokes.

Nobu claims to show this bright, can-do exterior in order to make others forget about their problems for as long as they're with him. Doing his best to make himself a faint beam of hope shinning through, a welcoming pillar anyone can rely on in trying times. As he values self-sacrifice above all else, proudly framing it as the most noble act creatures such as himself could ever muster up, Nobu has an almost suicidal habit of putting himself on the line for everyone else, despite how deep or shallow their relationship may be.

This willingness to both physically and mentally sacrificing himself to make others feels safe, in fact, comes from a gloomy memoir of his past. As the though of not being there when someone needed him began to eat away at his morale, he's developed a burdensome goal to prioritize the nearest person's life over his own, normally going so far as considering the alleviation of their troubles as his responsibility.
Though this careless dismissal of his own well being has gradually toned down ever since he's grown closer to those that regularly visit his god's remaining shrine, albeit still retaining somewhat of a lack for self care.

More often than not he's found acting denser than a brick wall or just playing dumb in general, but he is by no means lacking in the brains department. Acquiring a more crude and arrogant attitude, he tends to display a more fierce and competitive drive whenever the challenge makes itself present. His countenance slowly contorting into a more determined and thrill thirsty one, donning an honest, but still extremely eery, smirk accompanied by a pair of cunning yellow sapphires for eyes intently focused on whatever piqued this cutthroat side of him.

Bounded God (s): TBD

Skills/Abilities: Lackluster use of Borderline and Bind

Strengths/Virtues:

Above-average agility and fast thinking.

• Is known for being quite charming

• Breakfast making expertise

• Extremely curious

• His short stature ends up being both a curse and a blessing in very specific situations.

• Almost immediate understanding of others problems.

Weaknesses/Flaws:

Disappointing stamina.

Drinks and eats as if the world were about to end in the upcoming five seconds.

His past habits were carried over to his next life.

Annoyingly curious

• Easy to fluster.

• Is also known to be somewhat of a coward.

Fears: Living without a purpose, dying for the wrong reason. Spiders. Ironically, he's also scared of heights.

Theme Song:

Others:
He serves the Patron deity of Protection and guardianship, Gōjiro. To this very day he still protects Gōjiro's shrine, awaiting his arrival.

His daily routine consists of waking up early, searching for clues that would lead up to Gōjiro, and returning to his shrine to catch a break once he's failed miserably.

Gōjiro's remaining shrine is one of the many allocated in Mt. Inari.

Nobu tends to attract a bunch of stray cats everywhere he goes, for some reason.

Has the tendency of asking the following: "Can you do a handstand?" "Can I touch your ears/tail?" "Are you down to having a drink?" And the classic: "Have you seen this god?"

Age: 22 at death, 6 years of wandering

God’s Greatest Secret: He lived his life as a butler-bodyguard, moving through different jobs for different women. He did not change jobs because of being fired-- he was an amazing worker-- but because he wanted to see the world while serving others. Finally he fell in love with a rich girl and got a job working for her, but was killed when an assassin came to kill her.

Choko

"You're not going to leave willingly, are you?"

"No. I only want to serve you. Miss Hayakawa is much too listless for me, and I cannot do much for her. You seem that you will have much more to do every day."

She remembered how boring that Hayakawa-san had been and nodded her head. "Yeah... She really did seem so."

"Then please, let me serve you."

"No, go back to her! You shouldn't just be running off for a new boss after you only just met them. Aren't butlers supposed to be loyal?"

"I cannot go back. I already packed my items, I no longer live there."

"...Ugh, okay, you can work for me. I don't think I need a butler, but I could use a bodyguard."

"Thank you, Choko-sama!"

"Here is your Gyokuro tea, Choko-sama." Inukai-kun placed it in front of her as she said a quick thanks, despite how he always insisted she should not. She blushed as she took a sip, realizing an embarrassing change in their relationship. At first she had been annoyed often at his submissiveness and want to obey her every command, but after him working for her for a month, she grew used to his odd personality, even grew to like his presence. She just hoped he didn't notice.

"I'm not going to punish you. I don't care about all those masters, as long as... as long as you stay with me."

"Do you mean it?"
Inukai-kun's two-toned eyes shone beneath the glasses that he only wore when he was alone with Choko. They lay on her bed facing each other, her hand tracing the collar of his v-neck shirt, both of his hands holding her other.

"I really don't. What you did before has nothing to do with me. Just promise me... that you'll stay."

He smiled a teared smile and kissed each of her fingers, then moved his head, mumbling into her palm, "I swear to you, I will protect you forever. Even when I die, I will be looking for you."

"I promise."

"Choko-sama, please wake up. I have found the reason you were sick. Someone poiso--"

1 am, he opened the door to her bedroom. She had been sick for a week, but he had just now learned of the poison that must have been added to something she ate or drank.

A man in the room beside the bed jerked his head over to him. He had two tanks on his back, one that led to a mask over his face, the other left to leak gas into the air. Propane. He was suffocating Choko, who was already unconscious.

"Choko-sama!" He charged at the room at the assassin that was trying to kill her.

"Thank... thank all the gods that may still be living that I could save you."

The assassin was not untrained. Gas was his manner of killing, not because of weakness, but because it left no evidence other than a touch of scent to the air that might disappear by the time the police came. He had taken the oxygen mask and tank that the assassin had brought with him and put it over Choko's face. He was too weak by this point from knife wounds and suffocation to carry her out, not even to bring himself to safety. He wasn't sure he would leave her anyways.

He reached out for her hand that was at the edge of the bed until he realized how bloodied it had become. "No... I cannot get your precious skin dirty." He pulled off the glove and was satisfied that his palm was completely clean. He held her hand and waited for her to wake up, but she wouldn't. Just before he lost consciousness, he whispered, "I love you, Choko-sama."

First she noticed the sound. A hissing or wheezing breath that had slowly woken her up. She knew it was herself when she opened her eyes. A mask covered her face, unlatched but tight enough that all she breathed was what it gave her. Finally she could feel. The mask's weight, the thick blanket and soft sheets... a hand that held hers.

She turned her head left and saw Inukai-kun's head, finally heard his slow breaths that died before she could say anything.

Afterlife Experiences: For the first year, he wandered much of Kyoto, looking for the girl's spirit, only remembering his loyalty and love for a girl, not the girl herself. When he could not find her, he fell into a deep depression for two more years, not believing he will be useful to anyone, until he met a god's regalia. He never learned the regalia's name or his god, but he told him that he is not useless, and can serve a god as their moral compass and weapon, and showed him how to teach himself Borderline, Bind, and Umbra, along with how to be a worthy regalia. Now he searches for a god to serve.

Current Relationships: TBD

Personality: He is loyal and calm, something valued by any god, but can be seductive from showing loyalty, kindness, or sadness. He will grow depressed if he is not used often enough, so if his god does not like to battle, he would find himself working as their butler. He wants to find one that he can serve until either they or he disappears.

Bounded God (s): Azani

Skills/Abilities: Borderline, and is practicing Bind and Umbra.

Strengths/Virtues: Loyalty

Weaknesses/Flaws: Desperation for attention

Fears: Being useless, harming his master

Name:
Seiketsu no Yakko

Alternative Names/Title: God of Cleaning, Humility, and Work Ethic

Appearance:
Director of NA.jpg
Age:
1030 Years Old
Looks late 20's

Gender:
Male

Personality:
Seiketsu is the personification of the ideal servant, yet he takes it to an extreme. He is humble to an annoying fault where he refuses to accepted any amount of praise, merely redirecting it to the person he is working for or to his regalia. His work ethic is perfection, he will never stop what he is doing until it is a near perfection as possible. As the god of cleaning it his favorite past time making sure everything he owns or touches is absolutely spotless. Many find his humor dry as almost all of his jokes relate back to cleaning or a cleaning product. He has an infinate respect for the working man and due to that he has very negative outlook on riches, His own shrine and business are kept plain and simple, yet due to their cleanlines they shine as brightly as heaven.

As mentioned earlier Seiketsu has a tendency to take things to the extreme. He hates filth, absolutely hates it. If he notices a stain or dirt he will clean it the literal second he is done what he was previously doing. This applies not only to literal filth but to metaphorical filth. His hatred of phantoms is unending, so much that he makes it a point to go out at night to hunt down and exterminate even the most minor of phantoms that are around one of his shops or shrines. He sees eliminating this filth as part of his duty to not only his self but to the world. He extends the same hatred to messy situations. Often when events plaguing japan start to become to messy and muddled the god of cleaning will step in to lend a hand and help "Clean" things up. This has led not only to him being seen as a friendly blue collared type of god, but almost a hitman like god as well.

Wish from which you were born:
Seiketsu no Yakko was born from the collective wish of the servant clash in the 10th century. This wish was the unending desire to please there lords so that they could stay safe and protected.

History/Legend:
Having existed for so long there are many stories of the cleaning god. Visions of servants seeing an unknown man scrubbing away the most horrible of stains that no other servant could remove, stories of laborers seeing a mysterious man carrying twice the load at three times the speed then anyone else, etc. Many nicknames have been given to this god such as the Old Wives God, The Laborer, The Heavenly Mop. and more. Through out a majority of these stories his name is actually rarely ever mentioned and that is because of his humility. With no actual name for him they gave the strange god all of these nicknames. It is due to this that he never really became an important figure, always working in the background while other gods took the glory.

There are however two stories that mention him directly by name. Most famous of the two is actually the oldest one, the tale of Seiketsu no Yakko and the Shogun's Sword. In the late 12th century Japan, The shogun Minomoto no Yoriie crushed the Hiki Yoshikazu's rebellion. After the battle his sword was soaked to the hilt in blood and he ordered a lowly servant girl to clean it for him. She tried her best but found there was simply too much blood for her to clean and so Yoriie gave her a decree, clean the blade so it shined brighter then the stars or she would lose her head to it's sharpness. Frightened the girl spent the night crying as she did her best to clean the sword, still it would not clean. As dawn neared she prayed desperately to any god that would listen to help her with her impossible task. No god would answer a lowly servant girl like her... she was wrong. Seiketsu no Yakko appeared dressed in the same rags as her and quickly set to work. in less then an hour he had the blade cleaned, polished, sharpened, and shining as if it was blessed by Amaterasu herself. Of course the god let the girl take all the credit as he disappeared once again into the darkness. Yoriie was so impressed that no one ever questioned the girl on her ability's to clean or serve loyally ever again. As her thanks the girl would be a devoted follower of Seiketsu for the rest of her life.

The second story is much more resent and represents the evolved version of Seiketsu no Yakko. This tale takes place in the After math of the Kyuijo incident and the surrender of japan in ww2. As people mourned and paid respects for their fallen dead many reported seeing a strange man cleaning and polishing the tombstones of the fallen and the memorials themselves. Later that day others reported that a man wielding an iron mop was beating and destroying many strange animal like monsters. While most either didn't know or care what it means, those that know the legend of the cleaning god knew the truth, Seiketsu no Yakko was at the memorial making sure the fallen had their respect, and when phantoms appeared to feed off the misery of the people the god spared ne expense in exterminating the vermin that dared feed of the people's suffering in that dark moment.

Current Relationships:
TBD

Strengths/Virtues:
Organized
Cleanly
Humble
Hardworking
Strong
Devoted

Weaknesses/Flaws:
Extreme
Obsessive
Stubborn
Isn't the best of keeping track of his health

Special Abilities:
Only Clean with the Best:
To clean something you generally need water, and for a god there is no better way to clean then with holy water. Thus Seiketsu has the ability to create a superior version of holy water. Water that is not only great at wiping away all kinds of filth, but phantoms and bight as well. The only problem is he is stingy with who he gives it to and absolutely refuses to give anyone his recipe for it.

Even a servant can topple a country:
Although he is only a cleaning god, he posses the strength of a god of war. He isn't as powerful as the top ones such as Amaterasu, Hachiman, or the upper brass but the is quite strong in comparison to most of the minor or mediocre gods. This strength is useful in cleaning the worst of the messes while at the same time exterminating those pesky phantoms.

Fears:
That one day he will be consumed by the very filth he seeks to destroy or that the world won't have any more use for his cleaning.

Shrine:
His shrine serves not only as a shrine but as his place of business as well. To the few that fully remember his name the location is a tucked away shrine called Seiketsu, meanwhile to those unaware it's a shrine they see it as Yakko's Cleaning services. It serves as a laundromat/maid service/ etc. Location is a small shop towards the western edge of Kyoto.

Regalias:
Manabi (Aiki): His first and oldest regalia
Chikarabi (Riki): His second regalia
Sawabi (Takuki): His third regalia
Subi (Chiki): His 4th and most recent regalia

Followers/Worshippers:

As the Sanki she is a blade with water properties, so far able to coat her blade in water and use it to cut through objects in the near and far shore as well as Phantoms. She also uses it to protect her blade and her god, but hasn't had the chance to try and do anything new with said water abilities and test their limits.

TBD

Age: 18 at death.
Gender: Female

God’s Greatest Secret:
Born as Michiko to Sena Takagi and Kenji Takagi in the Nara Period, she was the eldest daughter and in all the oldest of seven children, with four younger sisters and three brothers. Her parents were both loving and strict, and her mother did her best to make Michiko "a strong lady" in the event of any future suitors from, hopefully, noble families.

The Takagi family, as big as it was, were tight knit and trained enough in swordsmanship that at least the older children could defend themselves and the home if their parents weren't there.

The family settled in the village of Hakone near Lake Ashi, and Michiko quickly grew to love the place and it's scenery. Though she had heard tales of a nine headed dragon having settled in the bottom of the lake, her parents dismissed it, but she simply couldn't.

Out of curiosity, she would visit the lake alone in her free time, but never saw even a glimpse of this supposed dragon. She did, however, meet a young woman along the shore there named Asagi, along with every other time she visited.

One day, a white feathered arrow landed in front of their house, marking the end of Michiko Takagi's life as she was chosen to be sacrificed to the river god Kuzuryū.

It rained heavily as she found herself dragged by the villagers to the lakeshore, and was eventually thrown in, legs bound and her pleas to be released unheard. There she came faced to face with the nine headed dragon, yet all she felt was a growing numbness as the cold waters enveloped her.

Afterlife Experiences:

"Come, Sanki."

A white light and a gentle hand. The young girl known as the Sanki felt as if she were floating, blue eyes blinked open, and she felt light as a feather.

"From now on, you'll serve me and protect me, and I will do right by you. You will always have a home here. Understand, Sugi?"

"Yes." The young woman-Sugi, replied-as she came face to face with a dark haired man with the deepest blue eyes she'd ever seen. That was the first meeting between the Dragon King of Lake Ashi and the Sugi. From there, she eventually grew to love him despite her feelings never being returned after years together.

Even so, she remained by his side and a part of his small family ever since until the rise of AFAH, where a few related to some members in Kyoto went out of their way to destroy his shrine while he and his other regalia went to assist the gods fighting the newly evolved phantoms at Heavens' gates. In the ten years since, she hasn't seen or heard from any of her family.

Current Relationships:
TBD

Personality:
Sugi is a young woman that, once she sets her mind on something, keeps going at it until she gets satisfactory results or at least some sort of answer. Even if it means wasting hours to do so. She is occasionally clumsy and is more likely to trip over her own feet every now and then if she's not paying attention or has her head in the clouds.

Sugi does her best to look on the bright side of things and will cling to anything that will give her some form of hope no matter how small. Polite in most cases, Sugi can have a stubborn streak if she feels she's in the right on something.

She serves Kuzuryū, one of the many Patron Deities of Rain and Rivers, and even so their relationship is a bit...complicated. At least, on her end.

Personality: Cold, Calculating. Retsuko is not one to enjoy herself, she tends to take everything seriously and punishes those around her with her harsh words when they do not. Her walls are strong and she hardly lets anyone in. She is coined as the girl who never smiles. Due to this she has hardly any friends and the ones she does have are acquaintances at best. Her sole focus is the mission.

Background/History:
Retsuko’s life has never been an easy one, Abandoned at an orphanage by her mother who was sick and couldn’t afford to care for her daughter that was born shamefully(out of wedlock) on her own. She grew up amongst many other kids but she never felt close to them. Retsuko instead chose to separate herself from others which in turn spurned others to bully her relentlessly. This abuse continued within the orphanage until the age where the countries academic programs allowed her to file for separate accommodations to attend high school. It was then that her whole world was torn open wide. One late night she was attacked by something she could sense but not see. It chased her down an alleyway where a man was going through the garbage. He was the first to be harmed in the wake of the sightless destruction. However just when she stopped and even accepted the fact that she was about to die or be taken in some way she couldn’t explain a group of three men and another woman arrived and dispelled the presence. They saw something in her and brought her into the fold.
This was how she joined the Yaksha’s a special unit whose existence is not known to the public part of the Stalwart Defense Program or SDP.
From that moment on she could sense things and would occasionally just pass out but in doing so she would be able to see the beings that attacked her that night and how the others actually managed to fight it off.
This is where she belonged.
After months of training she finally joined the other four to become an official Yaksha.
A defender of humanity fighting on the frontlines of an unseen war.

Current Relationships: TBD

Strengths/Virtues: Increased Strength, Speed, Reflexes. Mission Oriented, Lack of Empathy allows her to do things most would think twice about, Strategic.

Very stubborn, and incredibly cold which leads to misunderstandings.

Appearance:

Age: 20, but in reality 1000+

Gender: Non-Binary

Personality: Sanda is as random as the lighting he uses. He usually is agressive, and has no problems in doing whatever he likes, and his mood can suddenly turn rageful and strike suddenly. He is a prideful god,and can be a bit brag at times. overall, he is a Chaotic Neutral. He can sometimes let kindness catch up to him, but it rarely ever happens.

Wish from which you were born: Wish for Thunder and Destruction

History/Legend: When he was god with much more power, he would often go and let mortal purposefully anger him, so that thunder would strike. he used to be much more convicting and bagful back when he had much more power, but has quieted down overall, but is still ever unpredictable. A couple stories have him mentioned, but he doesn't play key parts in them. He is mainly a Sid e character, barely viewed as a calamity god, while just not there as a fortune god. After all, Thunder is surprised, and can crop up when no-one expects it. They don't have a good relationship with many other gods, but it hardly bothers them, with them just brushing it off. The only main story they appear it, and this is often retold in his village, the Tale of

Strengths/Virtues: Knows all about weapons, Knows how to manipulate people, Crafty

Weaknesses/Flaws: Absolutely no idea on how to interact with people normally, Prideful, Chaotic

Special Abilities:

Stormy Day: Satma can summon a thunderstorm into the area he is in, which increases his power, but it slowly depletes his health until he sends it away

Name: Akashi
Alternative Names/Title: The goddess of the internet, data, the digital, and the dark net.
Appearance:
sample_0267ba23368440a9414a9baa30d21fd0ff16ad5a.jpg

Age: 25
Gender: female
Personality: Being one of the youngest gods around Akashi can be viewed as naïve, but being born in the hardest time for gods proves she knows how to take care of herself and while she is a generally positive person Akashi knows the darkness of the human heart more than many gods would realize. With her past as a phantom Akashi tends to have perhaps a bit to much sympathy for phantoms and side with the god of the moon over the goddess of the sun. When being dealt with Akashi tends to be very laid back not seeming serious, but if provoked she can be rather scary. She believe the gods need to be more unified and that the first step is to fix the disconnect between the gods of heaven and earth and even those few of yomi. This might be a bit to idealistic to get the gods to all join together, so Akashi is trying to establish a presence elsewhere so she has an exit strategy.

Wish from which you were born: " please please just fucking work come on i need to get online please god come on fix it"

History/Legend: Akashi started life as a phantom, that somehow got mixed with a virus, likely by accident and sent out into the world by an unknown creator. Akashi would infect computer and people alike spreading darkness till one day the words of one infected user somehow reached her. Akashi can't really describe it as she was never purified and was never defied like other phantoms turned god. Yet for some reason when she heard the plea, the wish she felt like she should fix it. Akashi thinks it was simply enough infections causing people to pray desperately for an answer to the virus that changed her. After that day she took a proper name and became a god, though not exactly popular. Akashi managed to weather the atheist storm by using her old viral skills to cause a few problems she could solve and spreading herself thin. She also caused most devices the anti god group held to break down and malfunction and their websites never lasted. With them gone she was spread her net wide and seeks to bring gods together on a new social platform wanting to perhaps ease tensions. She also has used the world wide part of the net to try to start spreading to other regions but this has yet to even get her roots anywhere let alone fruit.
