Name: Jackson "Cutter" November

Gender: Male

Age: Late 20s

Physical Appearance: Jackson is about 6' tall and athletically built. A casting call would dub him "ruggedly handsome." His sandy blonde hair is usually kept close cropped, along with his beard. Like he grabs the clippers and does a once-around his hed.

full

Personality: Friendly but serious, Jackson is a professional soldier who values unit cohesion, and doing the right thing, even if that means breaking the law.

Affiliation: Frontier. Jackson is cut off from his home base on the frontier. He's not affiliated with the League, but he may see working with them as a necessary evil.

History: Jackson is from a Frontier town that was based around Athens, Alabama. (Or Asheville, NC, whichever works better.) His home didn't have a lot going for it except for two things: a munitions and logistics train had broken down there, and Dr. Kamishiro. The mili-tech train itself would have provided the inhabitants with enough firepower to protect themselves, but that married with the genius of Dr. Kamishiro produced some highly advanced weaponry and mechs. Cadres of Athenian mechs were soon employed across the Frontier to protect towns, and hunt down wasteland monsters.

Jackson was trained to pilot a mech and earned his stripes in the cadre Murphy's Marauders. He has served in the mercenary forces and home defense forces of Athens for 4 years, and comes from a proud military family.

Some may have thought the Athenian tech of Dr. Kamishiro "too" highly advanced. Rumors of Dr. Kamishiro's origin tied him to Midori, but he never spoke a word about it.

Jackson's lance (cadre sub-unit) was detailed with protecting the Doctor as he made a rare trip outside of Athens to inspect a munitions plant in southern Ohio. Their convoy came under attack from what appeared to be a mercenary force of mixed mechs and infantry. Jackson and one other cadre member survived, but found the Doctor had been taken. Both vowed to search for the Doctor and have been following separate trails since then.

Extra:

Jackson is a fairly "run-of-mill" mech pilot. So he's in good physical shape, is well trained in infantry weapons and hand-to-hand, and can perform maintenance on his mech and its weapons.

A distinguishing feature may be his obsession with the orbital colonies. As a child he was obsessed with learning everything he could about them and dreamed of moving there one day.

He also favors a Glock 9mm that he carries in a shoulder rig. The handles are carved Kaiju bone and bear the Maruader's symbol of crossed axes. These are issued to all members of the Maruaders after their first mission.

Combat Theme song:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mecha Name: Riptide

Mecha appearance: (Like a Warhammer 40K Tau XV-104 Riptide battlesuit)

Actual color scheme would be splintered woodland camo overall. The shield boss would have the crossed battle axes of the Maruaders. The Blue-grey stripes would remain for highlights to signify the Athenian regulars.

full

Mecha history: Jackson's Riptide is in the colors of an Athenian mercenary cadre, specifically the Marauders. Athenian tech has a reputation for precision and power. The cadres have a rep for efficiency. The Marauders have a rep for kicking ass. Any of these could get a rise from someone.

Weapons:

Main armament: Ion Accelerator - capable of bursts, explosive blasts, or overcharging and emitting a near-coherent lance of energy. First two are long-range, third is medium range.

Secondary armament: Missile pods - firing swarms of smart missiles and medium range.

Secondary armament: Twin fusion beams - firing super-heated plasma at short range that punches through armor. These are mounted on the left fore-arm and can also be used to form a plasma blade for hand-to-hand combat.

Powers:

Nova-shield: a forearm mounted shield generator creating an forceshield around the mech.

Nova-generator: powersource for the mech that can be pushed to provide special manuevers or shots from the weapons.

Jump jets: Backmounted, variably vented jets allowing the pilot to leap about the battlefield, charge foes to bash them, or even fly a short-distance.

Sensory suite: The riptide has advanced tracking and sensing capabilities.

Looks good. Only thing I was gonna put forward is that Upgrading your machine is a pretty big part of mech story lines, but then I remembered that the riptide is actually the baby brother to the KX 139 and I realized you still had plenty of room for growth.

That actually provides a good beat for a story bit down the line, if the good doctor is still alive maybe he's been put to work building a new but familiar weapon that Jackson could use someday down the road.

In any case you're accepted. Now we just have to figure out how to get you in.

Name: Roux Le Corps

Shorthand: Roux, Also known as "The fury of Fallons Peak"

Gender: Male

Age: 38 (appears mid twenties, simply aged gracefully, though people assume surgery)

Physical Appearance
:

(will draw reference soon)

Even as a cyborg he only stands slightly above average at 6' and has a lean and athletic build. though his silhouette looks remarkably inhuman from the numerous mechanical pieces infused into him.

When not in combat He typically wears a thick heavy black trench coat that covers all the machinery lining his back and only a red singlet with a simple black symbol of a sun rising above a horizon line. the symbol of his Cell of rebels.

Sporting loose combat pants with beige camo print, with black knee guards and combat boots, all stolen from World League Troopers.

Dark shades cover his brown eyes almost always, but his rough and short red hair is rarely covered, expect for his combat helmet, again painted black, with a red circle on the forehead with the same symbol emblazoned within.

When in combat he ditches his coat and dons his helmet and body armor, also black with the same symbol the right breast plate.

His machinery the "hummingbird parasitic exo unit" Or "Wasp Suit" as he calls it, has a large central spine running in tandem with his, it extends and wraps around his ribs with small tubes penetrating his flesh from the underside of each rib.

From the shoulders layered plates allow free movement while also holding two additional arms, at the end of these arms are basketball sized ovals, that glow when powered.

The arms tuck behind Roux and are barely noticeable when wearing his trench coat.

At the base of his spine near the tail bone, a large section protrudes ending in what looks to vaguely be a mechanical eagle tail, even with the trench coat this is easily noticeable when not standing or walking carefully.

Personality: Near suicidal, Easily annoyed, almost entirely devoid of trust and with a flair for the dramatic, Roux long ago decided on his death and doesn't fear it. He cares for those who followed him, and mourns them with every waking breath.

He is fixated on revenge for not only them, but humanity as a whole, and describes himself as the self appointed "Rage of all humanity".

Affiliation: He was once part of the rebellion, he led the Black Dawn cell for many years, fighting against the World League in his typically frenzied fashion has left him infamous among them, with kill on sight orders still in effect all these years later.

He detests the invaders and destroys all references he sees of them, including priceless salvage.

He pities the Kaiju, and typically stays out of their way.

He hates any other cells of the rebellion, seeing them as cowards and traitors.

However, he gives anyone without displayed allegiances a chance if they end up talking.

History: When he was just ten years old Rouxs family was located on a small, independent habitation platform inside the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. The mining colony was fairly isolated, with the newest mechs on board having already been outdated for some time, and with no 'WL' presence on board many spoke about them in critical tones. When the World League mobilized to deal with the then recently formed "Colonial Front" Rouxs station was chosen to Have a large military base established. This base however, would have ruined the livelihoods of everyone on board as they were going to completely uproot everyone on board and refit it as a military base.

The men and women decided they would rebel, and so Roux got his first taste of the vile underbelly of the World League.

The massacre scarred Roux, the remaining population was then shipped earthbound for processing with his entire family never to be heard from again.

Roux was made a miner, and learned how to pilot the mechs he wields at the legal age of 16, his parent's decision to fight was never put onto his file, so he was afforded the luxury of a 'free' life.

Gaining employment with a private mining firm he lived aboard the mining ship "Geelong" for another ten years, refining the skills he still employs today.

In this time he joined the Colonial Front smuggling items for them, eventually Convincing the entire crew to follow the his cause.

However, before they could truly defect the invaders made their grand entrance onto the stage, destroying the second home he ever had with a single precise strike, he was the only survivor, left alone in a malfunctioning Space Mining Mech.

He would later be saved by the survivors of his old home, as they retreated from the main force. He chose to put aside his differences and face the new threat, but the years of war wore on him, leading him to become frenzied in battle, with little regards for survival.

Finally, after the invaders left, he formed a cell of devotees and called themselves "The Black Dawn"

The Black Dawn would become notorious even among the World League, being labeled as little more then "Rabid dogs, to be put down as their only mercy." and even the Colonial Front felt they were a problem, as Roux faced more and more resentment for his cells actions. It was during this time Roux gained the nickname "The fury of Fallons Peak" though he refuses to say why.

In the end, Rouxs fate was determined for him, as the Colonial Front sent him and his entire cell on a suicide mission to raid a lab in the pacific. Betrayal was inevitable, and surely enough a member of the CF warned the World League of their approach and a trap was set.

Roux again faced a bloodbath, His cell had number in the thousands with top of the line gear and the most experienced fighters, but it was no use.

They had entered with little trouble, he himself had left his mech to steal the "Wasp Suit" when the trap was sprung, the machine the was to implant the suit to Roux trapped him, and all he could do was watch as everyone died around him.

He was captured, and the same machine that forced his new form upon him is to this day his own prison cell as he waits for some chance of freedom to present itself.

Extra: All his personal effects, including his armor, weapons, and mech are being stored in the same facility he is imprisoned in, a secret base hidden in plain site. (the base is code named plain site, but is actually hidden in plain sight.)

He awaits execution, but holds on to the belief that some of his troops escaped and that they can free him.

Roux only knows his stuff is near because the guards torment him by showing him things he owns.

He typically has a Fenix 10mm auto pistol, widely regarded as wildly inaccurate, unreliable junk that always jams, but feared for the special rounds it uses as standard. Roux carries minimum 10 clips but only had 3 left at time of capture, the bullets detonate on impact, cause severe damage while also throwing small globs of a napalm like substance, causing burns and starting fires.

He also has a locket made of scrap metal, in one side houses a picture of his family, The other his personal squad from his days as leader of the Black Dawn. This locket is unfortunately now fused to him, as the machine implanting the wasp suit didn't remove it before its forced operation.

Roux has no idea how to use the Wasp Suit and barely even knows what it is, but it IS fully functional.

Though most may not recognize him, his name and history are well known, with his bounty left as a scare tactic by the WL.

(new here, can't link,so uh... i guess his theme would be Eon by Celldweller.)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mecha Name: Scorch

Mecha appearance: A pre-World League mech, Rouxs Scroch is a majorly modified S2m class mech.

(similar in appearance to the player mech in lapd future cop. Will draw soon)

Bipedal in its 'Combat' form, Scorch activates very inaccurate twin Chain guns on its underside, carrying the insanely illegal 9mm Nova rounds, These rounds are also hated by the Colonial Front.

In it's maneuvering mode, it crouches into its legs, resembling a crude hover car. Its twin linked chain guns cannot be fired in this state, instead relying on a custom built shrapnel shotgun.

Scorch was built from the frame of a "Mule" Civilian space mining mech, whose design curiously made it highly efficient on the battlefield. Built to withstand the void of space, crushing from rouge asteroids, and even breaches from high speed space debris, Scorch has the durability to be surprisingly effective on the field.

A large Floodlight has been left on the front, just below the cockpit. The cockpit itself is utilitarian in nature, with small narrow sensor strips behind protective grates. On either side of the cockpit are two large ammo drums for Scorch's twin gatling guns, these are even more reinforced then the cockpit, but can quickly be ejected.

Below the flood lamp to either side are the chain guns, Quad barreled with slightly melted ends.

Attached to its back is the Custom built shrapnel cannon, though unusable while standing, it moves into position above the cockpit in maneuvering mode, appearing and acting like a tank turret.

It's reversed legs are extremely well armored, and house nearly all main maneuvering thrusters.

Though somewhat slow and clunky in its upright form, it's distinct profile strikes fear into most everyone who witness it.

It stands only at a single story, and in it's Maneuvering mode shrinks down to only slightly larger then a military apc making it smaller then many of it's contemporaries.

In it's Maneuver mode scorch loses the ability to hold ground, but hovers above it. In space, it can dogfight with any pilot thanks to its numerous engine and power core enhancements.

in gravity, however, it cannot fly but is able to strafe and suddenly change direction allowing it to weave quickly through a battlefield.

In truth, Scorch is almost entirely unpainted, however, the years of wear from the battlefield has left it scorched black, Roux has painted red lines to accentuate its surprisingly fierce appearance, While meticulously caring for the Logos of his precious Black Dawn painted above the cockpit, and on the side of each Ammo Pack the unit is equipped with.

Mecha history: Scorch is still one of the most recognized mechs across earth, and to some, one of the most feared.

This mech shares its initial frame with the same mechs his parents piloted, though it's been so heavily modified and updated that it could be considered a unique mech.

Weapons:

Very inaccurate twin Chain guns on its underside Loaded with 9mm Nova rounds.

While the bullets themselves lack any stopping power, and barely dent even infantry armor the highly explosive incendiary rounds can burn away at even modern thermal armors while the explosion throws lighter objects (including infantry) clear across streets.

Roux has a large stash hidden in his cells secret base, but has limited rounds left loaded.

These guns are covered by parts of scorch in maneuvering mode, and must be standing to be used.

Custom built shrapnel shotgun.

The term shotgun is used as a misnomer, and in truth is simply a rapid fire cannon turret. Unless in Maneuvering mode the cannon doesn't have enough hard points to attach to scorch, making it unable to survive it's own recoil.

The rounds used are custom creations of Rouxs black dawn, and as such knows how to make them himself.

Stuffed inside the shell of armor piercing Anti-infantry rounds, each bullet contains a glob of a secret substance known only to Rouxs Black Dawn. This substance, when ignited in a specific way (that each bullet is rigged to do via remote) detonates in an exponential manner, with each detonation making the next more powerful.

These bullets are hard to make requiring a well equipped weapons lab and take some time to produce, A full refill for Scorch would take days for Roux to make on his own. He only has 16 rounds left, barely enough for the cascade effect to produce an explosion comparable to a hand grenade.

Powers: Scorch can only transform in a surprisingly fluid manner.

From standing it take 30 seconds before it's fully operational, but in that time the boosters kick in and allow it to float around and keep moving.

Transforming to standing depends on scenario, Roux is skilled enough to "hot drop" in the fray in under 5 seconds, but typically takes 5 minutes of time to calibrate back to full efficiency.

Without hot dropping, it takes just over a full minute to stand.

Current history:

Roux knows of, and even likes the Athenians, having been made a recruit by Jackson.

Though Roux fully intends to do his own thing, he likes Jackson and tries to right by him in his own way.

He is currently captive on board the super carrier stolen by the rebels, and feels uncertain as to wether or not he will help them.

He recently found out the Hummingbird parasitic Exo suit is running tendrils through his body replacing his body as it goes, though only in it's initial stages he is yet to recover from the shock.

He fought for the League at the battle of the shatterdome, under Jacksons command, though at it's end he tried to flee back to his secret base.

He is yet to find out how he wound up aboard the rebel ship.

(But he isn't complaining, they have a monkey!)

Thanks! I was trying to keep to the flavor of the XV-104 but mecha it up a bit, too. Plenty of ways to upgrade it without going mini-Titan KX 139, too, I bet.

Glad to see there's another 40K fan in the mix.

Name: Steve Argent

Gender: Male... what? expecting something else?

Age: 27

Physical Appearance:
723c5c3c8f38b3f001f1e03b803dfe1c.jpg

Personality: usually always grumpy, always calm, never angered usually, likes to call people things

Affiliation: World League

History: he was born in german, which was classified as a yellow zone at the time. the world he lived in was chaos, and not many people lived where they are... so he had a sad childhood, only making it brighter was his parents. one day, when steven was sleeping... his parents drugged him so he fell asleep longer and then took him to japan where it was a blue zone... steven would wake up with a note saying that his parents loved him so they wanted him to stay safe... he would want to return to germany to meet his parents again but could not because of the kaiju, so he enrolled in the military and quickly became a famed soldier. he was then recruited by the world league to an experimental jaeger codenamed: "crimson ronin", and was sent to germany... he found his home, well what was left of it with a video message of the parents with their last moments before dying from a kaiju. he swore revenge on that very kaiju and until this day he never found it, but he continued his purpose as a soldier to control crimson ronin and save humanity

Extra: he has a fond of playing chess and also his eyes are usually dark evident from his lack of sleep

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mecha Name: Crimson Ronin

Mecha appearance:
SgJTdrI.jpg

Mecha history: it was made in japan, a blue zone country that was thriving very much so... it is a very famous jaeger, a very powerful one as well. it is a reference to the samurai, a noble warrior that fought with a katana and lived by the code of honor. it was given to steven when crimson ronin was deactivated 4 years ago but was reactivated. it was deactivated when 4 years back, it was destroyed by a kaiju when the cockpit was destroyed by it's hands, at that time the pilot was steven's grandfather so he has to continue his legacy.

the mecha is credited for over hundreds of kaiju kills, and 5 years ago, it was nicknamed "the saviour of manila" and "the angel of los angeles", that was before it lost in a fight.

Approximate Height: 68 meters, making it one of the biggest mechas

Weapons:it uses a long chain sword, which is extensively sharp as well. the long length of the sword was intentional for it to resemble a katana

Powers: since it's massive size demands heavy and sturdy metal, that means this particular mecha moves like it's in slow motion. but it has boosters on it's back, it's elbow and it's foot that will give the jaeger a terrifying quick boost to get up close and personal to the kaiju.

the sword as well also has some unique traits. it's made of a magnesium alloy which is the strongest metal made by man to date, meaning it's hard to break it. the tip of the sword is also covered in a conductor material making it melting hot just to make it easier to slice through things.

usually crimson ronin and steven likes to make it up close and personal with the long chain sword... but if the situation demands it, the left hand of the jaeger can transform to a plasma caster, using plasma to give shots that are as hot as lightning.

He looks good and is very detailed, but there are 2 points I think I'm confused on.

1.) He seems to be heavily antagonistic towards pretty much everyone. Maybe I'm misunderstanding something here but if he's always hostile it might be kind of extremely difficult to interact with other characters wouldn't it?

2.) So, is he like, grafted to the inside of his mech or is he able to get out and walk around?

SgJTdrI.jpg

Mecha history: it was made in japan, a blue zone country that was thriving very much so... it is a very famous jaeger, a very powerful one as well. it is a reference to the samurai, a noble warrior that fought with a katana and lived by the code of honor. it was given to steven when crimson ronin was deactivated 4 years ago but was reactivated

@HEATS
Looks good overall. I've actually been hoping we'd get more machines like this.

He's accepted, but like I've said to some of the others, I am trying to end the current fight we're in at the moment, so if you don't mind just hold off on posting for the moment so we can wrap this up and move the plot forward a tic.

ah yeah, although where is the base of operations currently in the rp at?

At the moment every is in the city of Shell Bay fighting monsters, so we haven't really set bases for the League or the rebellion, but my plan was to have the factions head back to their respective bases after the fight.

Since you and Cerberus aren't but are both on the same team we could have you both start off talking at the base or something. I'd say you could have like a sparing match but given that his is a 10 ft turret with legs and your machine is, you know, massive it might be a bit of a mismatch. I'll also ask xenon if he wants to start there too since he's a mercenary.

a 10 feet walking turret vs a collosal titan sized samurai....

SEEMS LIKE A FAIR FIGHT :D

Also, if you're gonna make the post, info on the base is that it's at the southern most border of the East Coast blue zone and is relatively well staffed with men and machines.

Also give it a cool name, like fort some famous guy or fire base blue 13 or something. I'll leave it up to whoever posts first.

References to other works are also perfectly acceptable, so shatterdome would work.

Like the Shatterdomes are mainly built for warding off and responding to Kaiju but this one has been recently repurposed to double as a military base as well?

True. But I like it when other people present ideas. It's supposed to be a collaborative story, so we should all have input. I'm just here to make sure things don't spiral out of control.

xD im the last man you want to seek for ideas, so the name's gonna be east-coast shatter dome then?

Sounds good to me.

Also, for future reference we should really try to keep chatter like this to the OOC. Helps to not clutter up the other tabs. It was my fault this time for not realizing sooner.

Nah. I'll get around to it in a bit. Just remember for next time. And start working on your intro when you get the chance. I'll let the other 2 know that they can jump in when you're done.

Oh, jeez. Well, I'll have someone else start you off then and you can just respond to them then. Either way, you'll be free to post tomorrow. Night.

He's more... Rough then antagonistic in my head,

(And certainly not so jaded as to not be able to show or feel gratitude!) like the one friend we all have with a short fuse. But he would still talk to people and listen, just not uniformed people of the league, and the people in charge of the colonial front.

Everyone else is on an individual basis so he'll still at least talk back if you say hi.

As for the wasp suit yes that is forever now a part of him, though I'd imagine he'd find a way to interface it with his mech.

but at this point having it grafted to him hampers his abilities, it was in my head, a way of explaining why this very combat experienced person wouldn't be able to act or pilot in a capacity you'd expect of a battle hardened veteren.

He'd have to find someone to mod the cockpit to fit him before he could go all out, and get used to his new body shape and weight before he himself could return to peak performance.

If that makes sense?

Name: Sullivan Caldwell

Gender: Male

Age: 24

Physical Appearance:

7c475a9659c368f8e35da3418be37a46b2d73cd6_hq.jpg

Stands at a hefty 6'4.
Personality: Usually level-headed and calm, but comes off as unduly aggressive after having spent an entire month inside the North American red zone, almost as if he expects to be attacked at any moment. Often keeps people at a distance in order to prevent himself from growing attached to anyone.

Affiliation: None, though his bad rep with the League often forces him into relying on the rebels for support

History: Sullivan is the son of the prestigious Doctor Osran Caldwell, who is said to have designed a great many machines in the mythical city of Midori, though Sullivan himself was raised in North America. Sullivan grew up being trained to be an expert pilot for his father's machines, and become an expert pilot he did; by the time he was fifteen, even after humanity had been driven to the brink of annihilation by the Invaders and the Kaiju they left behind, Sullivan could easily match any of his father's other test pilots.

Sullivan spent most of his years piloting his father's experimental units in the American East Cost blue zone, but soon after he turned 21 his father revealed something to him; soon after humanity had managed to etch out its first pyrrhic victory against the Invaders, much of the alien's tech was gathered up and Dr. Caldwell had been assigned the task of creating a machine using that technology. He had almost succeeded, too, but was forced to abandon the machine before completing it as the factory it was contained in fell into a red zone. Dr. Caldwell revealed that he intended to return to that red zone and complete the machine, even if it cost him his life, and that he wanted Sullivan to pilot it.

With little else to live for, Sullivan agreed and accompanied his father, along with a small troupe of volunteers, to the center of the North American continent, now one giant death trap. Thoug the factory sat less than a mile inside the red zone, the group went completely dark as soon as the entered it, and nothing more was heard from them. The group was presumed dead, fallen victim to the red zone's immeasurably powerful Kaiju, until a month after they had disappeared Sullivan reappeared, piloting a machine that very few people had seen before. Sullivan's father, and the rest of the volunteers, were never seen or heard from again.

As soon as the World League had gotten wind of Sullivan's return, they demanded he hand the machine over to them. Sullivan, of course, refused, choosing instead to honor his father's wishes and pilot the machine himself. He has been moving around in the east cost yellow zones ever since, constantly clashing with League forces over his machine.

Mecha Name: "Thunder Child"

Mecha appearance:

4bb47a88bd83f1e2a8b25012c46c61c0.jpg

Mecha history: Thunder Child is a unique machine developed by Sullivan's father, Doctor Osran Caldwell. The machine incorporates technologies from the Invaders, giving it a near-mythical status along the North American east cost. Very little about the machine is understood, even by its pilot, as the few people privy to its details are dead or missing. Many people have lead themselves to believe it to be the closest thing to a true Jaeger still in operation.

Approximate Height: Thunder Child stands at a little over 32 meters tall.

Weapons: "White Lightning" Plasma Cannons: Thunder Child has a pair of medium-range plasma cannons built into its bulky forearms, which shoot white-hot bolts of plasma and are the only true weapons the machine has. Thanks to the machine's unique power core, the cannons have a seemingly unlimited number of shots, but each cannon can only fire a few times in quick succession before needing to cool down for several minutes.

Auxiliary Boosters: Thunder Child is equipped with several booster jets along its back and on the back of its legs. Although these jets don't allow it to fly, they do give Thunder Child decent battlefield mobility despite its larger than normal size, allowing it to essentially glide along the ground.

Powers: Endless Energy Source: The Thunder Child's core is alien in origin, and as such is significantly more advanced than most other cores, giving it seemingly limitless energy to power it and its armaments.

Regeneration: The Thunder Child, once again due to the Invader technology built into it, has the ability to repair any damage done to it. The speed of repair varies depending on the extent of the damage, lasting anywhere from a few minutes to several days.
