It had not even been an entire day, yet, since she had been back. She had been gone for a few years, and had even been a couple years before that, spent as a lowly Guard-in-training, deep in the nasty, sweaty barracks, with the other soldiers. The light pink-haired girl would have assumed she would have forgotten Princess-life, but it couldn't be farther from the truth. Once, she had taken her position back, it seemed all so familiar. The constant servants doting, the constant frantic-pace of being a Princess.

The frilly, poofy, yet enticing dresses. Something that Lenneth had tried to forget about, but being older, she could at least endure the wardrobe change.

The only thing different, was that everyone was older. Even the younger, adorably sweet Vava. She had been away from her twin for years, but Fynrir acted no different then the day Lenneth had left, acting as if nothing had happened at all, or as if any time had passed. Quite, frankly, it was a bit disconcerting.

Now, finally, after having spent quite some time trying to escape the complexities of her family, and being royalty, Lenneth found herself out in the city, with Hayate beside her. They both wore dresses befitting princesses and royalty. Something she wondered if Hayate was alright with, or if she simply had to endure it, as well. Oh, that was actually another difference -she had Hayate with her now. Someone to rely on, someone who understood her implicitly. It, actually, was a welcome change. Royalty, and how people acted around them, could be so fake.

The two -and especially Lenneth- had been bombarded by constant attention from the people of the city, and it had taken even more time to escape from them. They were hiding out a bit, wondering what to do next.

They had to speak with Shy. Whom they had sent for, using a raven. Shy would come soon, hopefully. That girl had a knack for sneaking into Valken cities, even the capitol. The wedding that was being planned, had stopped Freya's full-scale attack on the Outlands, thankfully, but it was only temporary, for after the wedding, Freya would most assuredly continue her plans.

Lenneth supposed that was another thing that changed, her eldest sister now ran the kingdom. What with her father being missing, and their mother being bed-ridden by intense grief, it only made sense. This power really only came in the few years that Lenneth was gone, though, and she wasn't used to the harshness of it. In conclusion, it was extremely scary, how much power Freya had, how she could just demand anything of the kingdom, and it would happen. Her eldest sister had always had sort of a leadership-like role among the other Valkyrie siblings, but Lenneth struggled to think of why she was so severe now. What had changed? Anything? Had Freya always had this bitter, rigidity to her?

To wipe out all of the Outlanders? It was truly horrifying. They had to stop it... but to do so, they needed more strength. They needed a plan of sorts. How could they help the Outlanders?

A certain redheaded young man made his way through the lavish streets of Valken's Capital. Bring from the Outlands Bishop hasn't experienced such a rich and beautiful place, the streets of gemstones, the buildings of marble, and the lavish clothing of its citizens. For a farm boy like Bishop, it felt like a whole other world. Just from inexpensive glance one can tell the wealth and power that Valken has. Now seeing at how the upper class throws away their money Bishop could sympathize with the Outlanders anger, but he didn't agree with their motives. He felt like standing with Valken ment he could help end the war quicker.

Bishop continued to make his way through the crowded streets, using his Lance as some sort of walking stick. His daily patrol was going smoothly until he noticed something off, two women seemingly sneaking around the street, as if they were hiding from something. Their dresses were far superior to the other citizens around them. Surely they were of some noble or even Royal family, speaking of the Royal family they should be in this very city as this is the capital of Valken.

Bishop was now debating on what he should do. Surely members of the royal family shouldn't be afraid to walk freely around the city. Maybe an Outlander had infiltrated the city, and they were hunting down these two girls.

With that final though Bishop started to walked twords the two, weaving his way across the street. Unluckily he had to move through a large crowd of people who were going in the opposite direction of him, but he eventually reached the duo. "Ah, excuse me. Is there a problem?" Bishop called out to the two, making sure that he didn't scare them in the process.

Jackson had awoken this morning quite well, although it would take some time to get used to being a noble's firstborn son again. He spoke with his father about walking about the city to get a feel for what he had missed these past few years of traveling. Of course, that was only if he were to look the part, so Jackson decided to wear his leather armor under some noble clothing with some embellishments.

That was earlier in the day as Jackson walked down the paved path with both of his swords on his left hip, he was right handed after all. He did get a few approving looks from the other inhabitants of this opulent and extravagant city, but that was said due to inheriting his mother's eyes. Jackson continued to walk taking in the surrounding areas, it was very different than when he was wandering, but in the capital, he had influence as the Pierce's firstborn son; Word was being spread that he had returned after disappearing for several years without warning. When traveling, he had no influence, except for the fact that he was able to survive on his own, gamble well, and make a name for himself by killing evil individuals.

Jackson had been walking for a while when he noticed a small group forming off on the side, more importantly two members of the royal family for one, due to their clothes' style not being so different from his own nobleman clothes. Jackson wondered why they were walking about in broad daylight wearing that, that would make them targets; they should at least disguise themselves. One other person he noticed was a smaller boy who was walking up to talk to them, although he didn't look like he lived in the city due to how he dressed. Jackson figured that he may as well introduce himself to these people. with his swords jingling in their sheaths, he made his way over to these three people and spoke, "You three look like you need some assistance; do you require any?"

Xerxes  'The Bear'

images-24.jpg

The sun peeked into the window of one of the rooms of the Officers Barracks. For anyone other person, the rays of sunshine would have landed directly on their sleeping faces, either waking then or causing them to turn around. But the man whose room these rays had invaded was simply sitting in his bed in his underclothes, staring into his reflection of the Steel Sword he was holding. His messy brown hair covered his chocolate brown eyes slightly, and he sighed. Another nightmare; the same one since they've started. Usually, this man could shrug off these nightmares and get a decent nights sleep, but not since these ones began to happen. The memory of that rabid bear, Captain Zeke's scream, all the blood and gore...once he had it, he couldn't get back to sleep.

Sighing once more as he put the sword back into its sheath and set it on the ground, he stood up and made his way over to the dresser in his room. He fiddled around inside it, choosing a simple white cotton shirt and some stitched up black pants before he walked over to the mannequin which displayed his armor. The armor of a Hero. He shook his head; with the orders he recieved from Her Majesty about tommorow, he certainly didn't feel like a Hero. But orders were orders; if there was a way he could resolve these attacks peacefully, he would do it. His only hope for no fighting was if the Outlanders surrendered, and he knew just how slim those chances were....

He donned the armor and clasped his Shield around his arm. He tied both his Steel Sword and Iron Axe around his hip, and took a look in the mirror, fixing his messy hair. Then his eyes turned to the small glowing object on his nightstand.

The Holy Brand

images-172.jpg

He reached out for it, hesitated for a moment, then picked it up and stated down at the golden emblem. This was what he had found after he searched Captain Zeke's body so long ago, and while he didn't feel like he should've taken it, the emblem...seemed to call his name. And so he kept it, not knowing what it does or how it works, but as a sort of memento of the man who gave his life for those he saw as an equal. He opened his pouch and silently tucked it inside, then opened his door to his room and stepped out. He walked through the pristine hallway of the Officers Barracks and then into the regular Barracks. It was still a little early and most of the men were enjoying their day off before the march on Her Majesty's orders, but some were already up, speaking quietly with each other. As he passed, these soldiers stood at attention and greeted him.

"Good Morning, Captain Xerxes!"

To which Xerxes nodded, not slowing his pace.

"Morning."

Obviously tiredness was in his voice, but he tried not to let his men see how tired he really was; it wasn't good for morale. Eventually, Xerxes left the Barracks near the castle and decided that he might as well take a walk around the city. With Her Majesty's campaign taking full effect tommorow, he might not get another chance to see this place for a while. He took a deep breath and smiled as he began to walk the streets. He gave a friendly hello to the merchants in the main square and even bought a pork bun from on the vendors with a laugh of 'Sure, why not?' The bun itself was delicious, and made Xerxes question just why he and his men weren't getting this for rations. As he wondered this, a small commotion caught his attention. It looked to be a guard, a fresh recruit at that, speaking to two seemingly hooded nobles. He questioned who they were and where they were off to, when another man showed up, asking what was wrong. Xerxes didn't know who this man was, but he did recognize the recruit; Bishop Drake. He showed promise, but the rest of the Officers weren't too sure about him, said he didn't have the muscle needed to properly serve. Xerxes was the one who vouched for him, saying that muscle will build for sure with how they train the men, no matter who it was. Of course, Xerxes' opinion didn't count for much these days; even though he had achieved the rank of Captain, the rest of the Officers still saw him as the sellsword he presented himself as. Xerxes thought about moving in and breaking up the little fiasco, but he stayed a fair distance away, watching, curious as to how Drake would handle the situation, still nibbling on his pork bun.

Hayate V.

Hayate tried to keep a low profile, she really did, but she had to admit, she looked really foreign. Even in the clothes of a valken native (With some alterations, she needed to be combat ready after all) her long black hair and dark eyes made her a sore thumb among the lighter hairs of the City dwellers. So she strutted, hoping to not stand out by doing her best to act like she belonged. It didn't work and now the two were laying low in a side street. "I swear to the gods," Hayate said, putting a hand to her forehead, "If I'm asked where I hail from one more time I may just murder someone." She looked over to Lenneth who was definitely a lot more shaken. While Hayate herself couldn't tell, her love had mentioned worrying over how different her family was. Now with all this unnecessary attention she was worried the poor women would just shut down. She was about to ask Lenneth what her plan was when a boy approached them.

Instantly she sized him up, honor guard training kicking in. He was outfitted as a guard, which was good but she knew more than a few people would disguise themselves as such. But Hayate made a living reading people and nothing about the young man read threat to her. She was about to speak when another gentleman approached them inquiring too if he could be of help. She sighed and turned to Lenneth, "There's a better welcome," She said with a small smile, "Two gentleman asking if we need help!" She turned to the two, "The princess and I were out on a walk sirs though the people seem against the idea of it being a quiet one. Assistance is not really necessary though."

Lynneth had pulled Hayate aside, down a path that seemed less traveled. Even the buildings here seemed a tad older, and not as glistening as the others. That didn't mean much, though, they were still quite extravagant, nothing like the ramshackles of places in Outland towns. The light-haired, fair-skinned woman had always been a rather kind-hearted person, and had always felt compassion for the Outlanders, even when they were enemies, but now, after being gone for three years, spending some time with an Outlander, of all things, she knew it wasn't right at all; how they were treated, how they were dealt with. She just had to do something! Which, was hard, considering she had returned to the royal Princess life.

Even still, she was here, waiting on Shy to turn up, with her betrothed at her side. Admittedly, looking quite stunning in her new dress, and high-class look. She seemed to be fussy over it, but Lenneth smiled, and placed her hand atop Hayate's to reassure her. The princess was used to this type of thing, but had never really preferred these clothes, the dresses, the corsets, the prancey, heeled shoes, even the make-up to really bring out a high-end royal woman's features. None of it was really her forte, but she was used to it. To say she was a bit hypocritical, in this regard, was an understatement, because she thought Hayate looked stunning, and was extremely enjoying her love's new look. So much so that she had leaned in to kiss her, when their quiet, alone time was interrupted. Pulling back, she instantly felt herself going into her shell, as they were approached by a man.

At least, Hayate was taking up her position quite well, and speaking on Lenneth's behalf. Something the young woman greatly appreciated. For she was extremely shy to just talk with others, especially as a 'Princess' of all things. If she were dressed as her usual Shielder/Bulwark getup, then she'd have a tad more confidence, but it was moot, the brunette beside her was dealing with the newcomers, who were intruding on their privacy. She wasn't even aware that there was another who had spotted their small group, watching from a distance.

All, Lenneth did, was offer the two men a pleasant smile, and a slight bow -er- curtsy, in this charming, sparkling dress, feeling out of place, but still trying to remember her lady-like teachings. "G-good.. mmmor... day, goodsirs," she spoke, only faintly; a light tinge to her cheeks, though it was rather unnoticeable under the new make-up that she now sported as a rightful princess, courtesy of the devoted, rambunctious servants that had attended her and Hayate this morning.

Shy had arrived, promptly, as well. Her starting days back in the Outlands had been pretty simplistic, easily adapting to such strenuous, harsh conditions, welcoming the poverty-stricken towns, the dense forests, the dry, dusty hills, and dried, dying streams, even the rowdy, wild, unkempt people. However, upon arriving back at the main Outlander army base, things had gone a tad differently. They actually had a sort of encampment now! Almost militaristic in its design. If it had a paint of shiny jewels, it wouldn't have looked that much different than the Valken counterpart of such an encampment. Quite remarkable really. She also hadn't been expecting the open hostility she had received. Turns out, being a General, and being gone for nearly 4 years did not exactly gel together. People were mad. Very mad.

Still, she had done it for them. To help provide aid, from someone as powerful and well-off like the Outrealmer. She had assumed he had mostly kept his word, and that Anna -his sisters- had provided some aid, weapons, armors, items, the like to her people. Perhaps, it was that aid that had helped them found such a base for their army. Who could say? Regardless, her absence had been felt, and it had not been well-received.

Anyway, Shy still continued to fight for the Outlander cause, never wavering in its faith. Sneaking into the royal city was not that hard -a tad harder, than before, sure, she was out of practice-, but ultimately, she had managed it. Even now, she had stolen some better-looking clothes, and had a white, and silver, cloak about her, hanging off her shoulders, glinting with golden tassels and gems. Very Valken-like.

She slid down from a building, and landed beside them, with a shocked squeak from Lenneth. Instantly, she pulled back the hood, revealing her face, and long, sea-blue hair (not currently in a pony-tail), long and hanging about her shoulders. "Hey, sorry to startle you, Lenneth. Hayate." She nodded to the other woman. Raising an eyebrow, she looked at the two men. "These two bothering you two?" she asked the women. They were no one she recognized, and definitely seemed like they were currently intruding in on something. Valken uniforms pushing themselves where they shouldn't be? -Yeah, not a good thing.

After initially confronting the two women another man approached them, almost asking the same question as Bishop. But before he could reply one of the women spoke up, the one with long dark hair. She explained the two's situation, just going on a walk... with the princess. Bishop eyes looked over twords the princess, she did carry a royal air. And before doing anything else, Bishop went down on one knee, "my apologies your highness, I didn't mean to interrupt you," he apologize, keeping his eyes to the ground.

It wasn't until something dropped down next to the that Bishop got back up onto his feet. The figure was hooded at first, but it didn't take long for them to remove their hood, revealing a woman with long blue hair. The newcomer openly talked to the princess openly, ultimate using her first name. Bishop stayed quiet as they talked, but he kept his hand firmly on his lance, just in case he needed to protect the princess.

Skadi "Wags" Devana

Shy's absence over the past four years stung more than Skadi wanted to admit. She wanted to say that they weren't lost without her but the past four years had been a freefall of loss after loss. It left the rag tag army lean and hungry for blood and leadership. A job that there was no way Skadi was up for. So while she was angry initially her tail couldn't hide the relief. Everyone called her Wags for a reason. But not all the army was as happy to see her. So when she heard that the general was sneaking into the city, Skadi volunteered herself as an escort, trying to reassure some less trusting members of the army. And she had to say... she loved it! So many new smells and delicious smelling food that Shay had to point out the back of her cloak was shaking suspiciously. Still though she was happy that shy seemed to be herself. She hadn't changed a bit in four years, though she did seem a bit wiser.

Sliding down the roof with her general, Skadi landed gracefully next to group and looked around carefully. There was the princess, the weird looking girl a noble looking prick and a young guardsman who... She froze. He smelled REALLY GOOD. Cautiously she went over to the red headed boy and took a long sniff.

"I don't see what could be wrong," She said to Shy, "I don't know why but I really like this kid!"

@Thalia_Neko @Captain Spooks

Hayate Valkyrie

Patting Lenneth on the back reassuringly, Hayate raised an eyebrow at Shy's dynamic entry, "Truly, so many people helping us today," Nevertheless she smiled to see her friend. Shy's hair was down, which was odd but the women looked the same as ever. She was a little more ambivalent about her companion though especially since she didn't seem to care about them and went straight up to the guardsman and began to... accost him? Flirt? "It's good to see you general," Hayate said, carefully avoiding Shy's name for fear of the two Valken unknowns. "Who's your friend?"

"I'm Skadi! You're Hayate right!?"

"Yes, it's a pleasure to meet you Skadi."

"Yes! You look funky and have weird hair, but you smell allalright and Shy says you're nice so I like ya!"

"Thanks?" Hayate said after a moment of quiet, 'Anyway I take it you've heard of the march General can your people handle it?" The question was rhetorical, if the two sides clashed it would be a long bloody war but Hayate doubted the outlanders, under fed out supplied and outnumbered. It would take a miracle to win. So they needed to make one happen.

Jackson's inquiry of assistance was met with a rather simple explanation of going on a walk; although one came forward and said that they didn't really need help. Jackson nodded and spoke, "Just figured I'd ask" and shrugged his shoulders. The other young woman who didn't come forward seemed a bit timid, out of place, so Jackson figured that the other woman was doing most of the talking because of this.

Meanwhile a second woman came up to the group to speak. She removed her hood exposing her face and blue hair, however this caused Jackson to raise his eyebrow for a moment. She did not look like a Valken, as she looked rougher and more able to fight. He simply lowered his eyebrow and kept his guard up in case something were to happen.

@Thalia_Neko @theunderwolf @Captain Spooks

Xerxes' eyes widened a little as someone jumped down from the rooftops and landed in the middle of the group. He looked up at the roofs as he took another bite out of the bun and made a mental note to scold the guards who were supposed to be keeping an eye on things like that. But then the figure removed her hood, and Xerxes almost choked on the piece of bun he was chewing. That was...an Outlander General! Bluebird! The color of the hair was unmistakable, as well as her face. Xerxes had actually run into her once, while he and a platoon were out on patrol in the Outlands. She and her little rag tag group of warriors had ambushed them, killing more than half his men and wounding Xerxes in the process, but not before he gave her a nasty slash to her leg. But what was she doing in the Capitol?

He scratched his head in thought...

Then another figure jumped down and began to get...awfully close to Drake. Wait a second....Drake was still there, and he had no idea who that woman was! He could be in grave danger! Regretfully, he tossed the pork bun aside and nonchalantly made his way over to a vendor close to the group, pretending to browse his wares as he listened in on their conversation. He shook slightly with excitement; this was his chance to end the war peacefully! If he managed to capture her or make her surrender somehow, then the Outlanders would surely have to reconsider their fight if we were able to capture one of their best so easily. He took a deep breath to calm himself, and prayed to the gods that neither Drake or any of the group did something stupid.

@Captain Spooks @Thalia_Neko @Clockwork Syringe @theunderwolf

Lenneth watched as the boy fell to his knee, addressing her formally. That was something she was not at all prepared for. Instantly, the fair skinned woman withdrew into herself.

Her timid voice came out, breathy and soft, the confidence she had gained over the past few years diminishing once again. Protesting, Lenneth spoke up, "N-nyu... P-p... Please, goodsir... r-rise.. " She was not at all ready for the formality, and instead addressed others formally herself. That was just how she was. A princess that acted lower than even the lowest of people from the  Outlands, treating others like royalty instead of herself.

It had taken her a year or so to even tell Hayate that she was the daughter of a king... A princess.

SHY

Shy had known from the moment he saw the boy act formally to Lenneth, that the Valkyrie would hide within herself like that. Shy had gotten used to the princess's un-royal like behavior. She spoke up "we may need any help we can get," even while she said that, Shy eyed the people around. The woman was much more cautious than Lenneth, and was instantly suspicious of those around.

Shy watched the wild antics of her companion. A friendly, endearing wolfy Lokir. It was amusing I observe her, and even though she seemed far less cautious than Shy, her insincere were not to be trifled with. Shy cracked a grin, enjoying Wags silliness before them, in this serious situation; the levity was appreciated.

Jackson raised his eyebrows when he heard the term royalty used. All of a sudden it hit him, this was Princess Lenneth Valkyrie, twin princess and daughter of the former king and queen. Almost immediately he took his hands off his swords and bowed deeply before returning to an upright position. "Forgive me, it took me a long time to recognize you; I haven't been in this city for some time now. I apologize for seeming brash and unruly, but I would lend my aid, if you'll have it?"

As on cue another figure dropped from above, putting Bishop more on edge. The new figure was female as well, except there was something different about her... after her entrance she looked at others in the group before approaching Bishop, and sniffing him...? The odd hello left Bishop feeling uncomfortable and extremely confused.

The princess herself acted quite timid to Bishop being formal twords her. Which he found a little odd since she was royalty, but he wouldn't judge her because of it. The other man proclaimed that he would lend them his aid, which was noble of im. "A-As will I," Bishop announced as well, his voice having a slight stutter at the beggining. Bishop wasn't very confident in his fighting ability, he could probably do more damage with a pitch fork in his hands than a Lance.

(Bishop and Skadi's support conversations are going to be interesting xD)

Hung over a sheet of parchment with a pen in hand, a solitary youth was writing away deep within the royal library of the Valkyrie family. A heap of tomes were scattered all about the large oaken table at which the boy was seated, each containing ancient spells which he was busy deciphering. The man only gave cursory glances to check if what he is writing is correct, spending more time tracing the strange languages written in the books with his eyes. Even before the sun had risen was he in there, studying, unlocking knowledge...

"Master Carren?"

A voice suddenly snapped the white-haired man out of his concentration, looking up to see a male servant on the other side of the table. "Ah, uh, yes?" Carren replied, flustered. He had lost track of time a long while ago, glancing over to see the sheets of parchment that had piled up next to him.

"The royal wedding for Mistress Hayate and Lynneth Valkyrie is today, and the family wishes you to attend. Should I leave these documents for you when you return?"

Of course, Lynneth's marriage. How could Carren forget? His younger niece, Lynneth had returned after so long with a beloved in tow... Carren was happy for her, but at the same time felt that the girl hadn't changed a bit. Despite looking like a full-fledged bulwark, she's still as shy and formal as the day she left... even to Carren, who was of a lower status than her. Truly, she-

"Master Carren?"

"Ah, uh, no, it's fine. You can return the tomes to where they were, I was just about done anyway..." The Valken noble rose from his seat and scrambled to collect all of his translations, stowing them away in a leather bag he'd taken with him. The man thanked the servants for their service, heading back to his own housing close to the royal castle. Carren had moved out a few years ago, preferring to live in a more self-sufficient abode rather than leech off of the main family's generosity, much to the dismay of his parents. He had a fairly lush house still, but it was hard to get anything remotely humble in the capitol anyway. When returning home he was greeted by some servants of his own. Truly, he'd rather be all alone, but both his parents and the current heir to the throne insisted that someone look after him. Carren couldn't fault them, if it were up to him he'd lock himself in all day to study. Knowledge was everything...

Carren stowed away the documents he'd written in his study, inside of a drawer in a masterfully crafted mahogany desk. He didn't stick around for too long as the noble returned to his dressing, taking out a formal purple suit with golden buttons and a white cravat. He had to dress sharp; A royal princess does not marry every day, after all. He also made sure to tidy up his hairdo at the oval, life-sized mirror in that very same dressing. After double-checking his clothes and hair to make sure, Carren headed out of his mansion to be greeted by the lavish streets of the capital once again, briskly pacing across. He couldn't afford to be late, that alone would be grounds for execution! But, still, that didn't mean he did not have time to enjoy himself. Carren snuck out a book alongside him, a very topical one on the art of war. He opened it, intent to get a bit of reading done on his way to the festivities.

When the noble entered the main plaza, he glanced up. This was to make sure not to bump into anyone while walking, of course. Someone caught his eyes, however. Standing bent over one of the stalls is Xerxes, one of the military's captains. Carren hadn't seen Lynneth's group as they were out of his line of sight, but a smile nevertheless crept up. Closing his book and holding one hand behind his back, Carren walked up to the captain. He lightly tapped the man on his shoulder to grab his attention.

"Good day to you, sir Xerxes. It's rare to see you so attentively staring at jewelry!"

Carren made sure to speak up a bit so that his voice rang out above the noisy chatter on the plaza, which may have unintentionally blown the captain's cover. Still, it was an amusing sight to see them inspecting rings and necklaces so in-depth.

"Has the royal wedding perhaps inspired you to marry a lovely lady of your own?" Carren joked, hinting towards the wares of the vendor.

Xerxes strained his hearing as he listened to their conversation over the calls and noises of the crowd and vendors, and was so focused on hearing them that he blocked out everyone else, staring intently at a single ruby brooch. But even he didn't expect the squeak of surprise he let out when someone tapped him on the shoulder suddenly, and he turned to them with a slight tinge of pink in his cheeks. Embarrassment filled his chest, but then turned to annoyance as he saw who it was. It was Lord Carren, a relative to the Royal Family and an opposer of the war against The Outlanders. Xerxes had known this man for a while, as Carren was a purveyor of rare tomes and the like, and many a mission had Xerxes been assigned to find said rare tomes and bring it back to him. Xerxes considered him a friend, even if he could get a little annoying at times, and this was one of them. Quickly, Xerxes gave him a short forced laugh before he put his arm around him and practically dragged him to the opposite side of the group he was listening in on, where a ceramics vendor was displaying his wares. He spoke quietly to Carren as he stared down at one of the many pots on the stand.

"Carren, listen to me, this is important. Right next to us is an Outlander General. If I can capture her and bring her in the war could end today! Do NOT blow my cover! Got it!?"

His grip on Carrens shoulder tightened a little as he gave him a look of pure seriousness.

@Ammokkx

While, the Outlander shapeshifter was busing herself with enjoying the company around her, Lenneth and Shy had gotten straight to business. Intriguingly, two of the men had offered to help right away; something the light pink-haired royal was not expecting, after dealing with unreasonable typed out in the Outrealms. Perhaps, it was just because she was a princess that they were so eager to give aid.

To their eagerness, and formality, Lenneth found herself growing increasingly quiet and reserved. Drawing into herself, and fidgeting in that fancy dress, her eyes darted to Hayate for support. Still, she did ask, "G-g-goodsirs.. Y-you sure..?"

Her question was valid. Just because she as a princes did not mean they had to instantly and blindly accept. She was planning in somehow, trying to provide aid to Shy and the rest of the Outlanders. Something, a newly found, re-accepted, and Valken "loyal" princess, should ever do.

Shy spoke up, leaning in towards Lenneth and Hayate. Whispering, she said, "I think we need to be a bit more cautious in how we approach this.. There are Valken loyal spies everywhere..." Her eyes narrowed on a man nearby across the nearby road. She watched him and his parter he was conversing with.

However, before anything else could be done or said. Some people passed by in a hurry, dressed extremely fancy. Fancy dress for the woman, with a slim waist , glinting jeweld about her, and for the prim and proper man following her, an exquisite suit. Their voices could be overheard.  "I can't believe the princess Lenneth -Fynrir's twin- is getting married today!!" "I know! I heard she's been gone for years, then when she returned she had a lovely fiancé in tow! And another woman at that! Can you believe it? A princess marrying another woman? Isn't her parents worried about heirs?"

thid is is where the couple drew out of distance to hear, anymore.

Wait. She was getting married today?! Her wedding to Hayate was today? Freya must have moved it up sooner, to get to her war quicker.

Glancing in disbelief in Hayate, it was clear that they needed to hurry to not be late to their own wedding! Lenneth did not want to leave theatre people before her behind or just drop the current conversation, but she couldn't wait any longer for her wedding and she was extreme excited.

Shy spoke up as Lenneth grasped Hayate's hand and instantly rushed away, stammering out some apology and promise to get back to then all on the currently manner. Though, it had been said in a rush and in a stutter of embarrassed frustration, so it might've been a tad hard to understand.

Shy laughed at the outrageousness of it all, expecting something totally different. She turned to Wags and stated in levity, "guess we gotta get ready for a royal wedding! C'mon let's go!"

Hayate V.

Hayate's only reaction to this new revelation with a raised eyebrow which was roughly equivalent to a full scale freakout. "Oh dear heaven's..." She said in a flat monotone of true panic, "I won't have time to do my hair...and there's no way I'd be able to make sure the dresses are perfect..." She looked at shy for a brief moment, 'And of course... the war. But Lenneth! Don't drag me please there is no way I'll be ble to get the dust off my legs in time...ohdear. Shy we'll see you later." She finished near brethless as she found her footing and started running towards the palace.

Skadi "Wags" Devana

Skadi was a little perturbed, this young guard was messing with her head. To a point where she just wanted to stay by his side and protect him forever. She was a women of emotion but this was ridiculous! He hadn't even said a word to her but then her ears twitched freeing themselves from her hood and standing proud in the middle of the street. ...this is important. Right next to us is an Outlander General. If I can capture her and bring her in the war could end today! Do NOT blow my cover! G...

"We've been seen," She said quietly to Shy then looked over to Bishop, tail wagging, "Guard, despite you being on the wrong side, I like you. You ever want to go hunting, or need a favor come find me. Names Skadi you hear?" She finished with a wide grin and a flicked ear. Then as fast as she came she pulled up her hood and clambered back onto the roof vanishing from sight.

The whole group stood there in silence for a little bit, but it was broken by two people passing by. Talking about the upcoming wedding of Princess Lenneth, and how she was getting married to another woman. Bishop found that rather odd, but royalty could do what they wanted to.

Presumably Princess Lenneth and her fiancé ran, which took Bishop by surprise. Could they be running late to their own wedding? Being a good Guard Bishop was going to join them, just to assure their own safety, but he was stopped by the woman who sniffed him before, her hood had fallen off, revealing her wolf-like ears. Growing up in the Outlands Bishop had heard numerous stories about the Lokir. In the book that Bishop is reading it says that Valheim created them long ago. And he would have never thought that he would see one in a place like this.

"Guard, despite you being on the wrong side, I like you. You ever want to go hunting, or need a favor come find me. Names Skadi you hear?" She said directly to Bishop. The weird statement that she liked him made Bishop confused, and his face slightly crimson. He might be getting the wrong idea, but she introduced herself as Skadi before climbing up the building and out of sight.

Bishop's mind found its way back to the Princess and her fiancé, how could he forget them?! Cursing himself in his head Bishop went in the same direction as them, though out of the corner of his eye he saw someone familiar.  "Captain Xerxes?" Bishop asked, approaching the captain who stood next to a jewelry vendor and he was talking to a nicely dressed man.

Jackson, seeing both the princess and her fiancé as well as the two others vanish off into two different directions, became a little confused. He would have liked to give his princess some aid, but decided that they would be fine by themselves. The other male, went over to talk to two other males over by a jewelry stand. Jackson overheard them talking and it seemed to him that one of them was the boy's captain. Seeing this, he decided that he'd walk away, unless they needed to speak with him for some reason. Jackson began to walk along the road resuming his appreciation of the city he grew up in.

Speaking of dragging feet, Lenneth was used to heeled shoes, wearing heeled boots with her Shielder armor and uniform, but fancy heeled shoes was an entirely different thing altogether. They were flimsy, and unbalanced, making any sort of 'running' in them all but impossible. It was more of a unrefined shamble, so she definitely was not dragging Hayate anywhere fast. Mentioning, Hayate, Lenneth couldn't help but turn to her soon-to-be bride, and flash her quite the amused smile. This was just how she had envisioned their wedding day.

Lenneth couldn't wait any longer, while they moved down the street; nobles, and other various upper class moving beside them, noticing oddly, the fated-to marry couple beside them, not ready for the very wedding, everyone was currently rushing to. The fair-skinned, quiet princess, leaned over, and pecked her beloved really gently, and quickly, a pink tinge to her cheeks, in full view of all who were watching.

The two finally drew into the castle, and were immediately bombarded with very-angry servants, and maids, overeager to fix the two up for their big day. In a tizzy, and in a whirl of gown, cosmetics, perfume, proper lady attire, and whatever else that they could muster up, Lenneth found the rest of her morning/early afternoon was taken from her, as she was completely forced to do whatever the servants had wanted of her: their doll to play with.

Shy shook her head, her mop of unruly light blue hair swishing back and forth. Snickering at Skadi, she elbowed her, "Perhaps there can be two weddings today!" she teased her companion. With a wink, she carried on, "Did you give him something special to show your affection, Wags?" With that joke, she returned her hood, then found herself back up on the rooftops with the Lokir. Poised, she rushed forward, "We also gotta get ready. I loathe wearing anything, you should understand, but we have to be 'prissy' and 'regal', if we're to blend into Lenneth's wedding, Skadi. We still have business with her, we don't want to let this opportunity escape our grasp! It could be devastating for the Outlanders, you understand?" With those choice dangerous words said, Shy craned her neck, peering around for anything they could use to clothe themselves appropriately for a royal wedding. In hindsight, not something Shy was really all that used to.

Coin had discretely been listening in; quite hidden from normal view. It would take someone expertly seeking out others to discover her. Like a particularly good Enigma, or Incognita, or even a thief of sorts. Or... A Lokir?! She heard the canine mention that they had been spotted, and instantly Coin withdrew away a bit, but still within ample eavesdrop range. She hadn't known that some other more official type Valken people were observing the small group.

When it seemed she was fine, and everyone went their own ways, a grin crossed her youthful, cute face. Smirking, she spoke in a hushed whisper to herself, "Why? Seems my luck today is looking up!" She could feel her excitement growing. It was already extremely fortuitous to find the to-be-wed princess out and about, but to be able to listen to what was going on with them? That was an added bonus. From what she gathered, Princess Lenneth wanted to aid the Outlanders, which she thought was unusual, but hey, Coin didn't really care. It seemed to be a bit precarious. Anything, that was 'precarious', or not so planned out, was an opportunity. The blonde girl quietly disappeared, eager to take advantage of such a messy situation. Now to attend a wedding...

Carren gave an amused chuckle at the small squeak escaping Xerxes as he caught the man off-guard, but not for long as he nearly tumbled down to the floor from the force the captain used to drag him away. "Easy on the suit, captain, easy on the suit!" Carren pleaded with the military officer, dusting off said suit when he pulled them both in front of a ceramic vendor.

"Carren, listen to me, this is important. Right next to us is an Outlander General. If I can capture her and bring her in the war could end today! Do NOT blow my cover! Got it!?"

The noble flinched at the mention of an Outlander General, but managed to quickly regain his composure. He calmly surveyed the area, noticing Lenneth attempting to dash out of a side street with her fiancée  in tow. Right behind the two women, two shadows jumped up onto... the roof? Quite the leg muscle those two must have. Leg muscle like that you can only get by training each day, preferably with weights attached to bog you down and increase-

No, Carren, no! This wasn't the moment to get sidetracked.

"I'm afraid you missed your chance, unless you mean to tell me that little recruit over there is that Outlander General?" Carren commented a tad smugly, referring to the red-haired boy who was walking up to them. Speaking of which, they looked like they had something to say.

"Captain Xerxes?"

Ah, seems like Carren was right on the money. The lance was a dead giveaway, but it was nice to have some confirmation. Though if he wasn't mistaken, hadn't that boy had been chasing after the princess just a short while ago? They most certainly did not look equipped enough to be a royal guard, merely a simple towns watch. Why were they chasing the princess?

"Well, I'm sure you two have a few things to discuss considering what you just told me! As for me, however, I have a wedding to attend. Imagine how I'd upset my family by being late!"

Carren gave another friendly pat on the shoulder to Xerxes, then looked to the small red-haired boy.

"Maybe I'll see you there later, as well. Seeing as you're a friend of Lenneth's, I might even be able to fix you a spot closer to the ceremony!" The noble winked to Bishop Drake with a small laugh, perhaps misreading the situation just a little. He started to walk again to continue on his way to the ceremony, opening the book where he left it off.

This time, however, he could not concentrate on reading at all. Xerxes' words bugged Carren. An Oulander general, or maybe two judging from those shadows, here in the capital? Sneaking into this city was no easy feat, and it didn't seem like they had any intent of harming the royal family. He'd need to talk to Lenneth about this later, as he had that there was more to this situation than meets the eye.

Coin, watching one of the men slowly slink away, came up beside the small group of men. The blonde of average height, found herself beside the men, with a smile plastered to her face, and a cheery demeanor to introduce herself to them with. "Hiya!!" she squeaked, waving. "Woah! Was that... N-no way! R-really? Couldn't be... " her bright blue eyes moved from down the road, where supposedly she was 'seeing' whoever it was. Someone she'd announce right now.

"Was that the returned princess, that I've been hearing about? Princess L-lenneth?.. She looked so pretty! W-who was that beside her? What's up with all this commotion?" She asked, tilting her head cutely to the men, acting as if she was out of the loop, and clueless. With a blink, she pretended to realize what was going on. "Ah! R-right! The wedding! Now I remember hearing about it!! Wait, was that her bride? Oh, gosh! She was sooooo pretty, too! Wish I had a lovely girl like that! Don't you guys?" she bumped them, teasingly, winking.

"Speaking of which, I wasn't formally invited to the wedding, but..." Coin's eyes moved between them. They seemed important. Some knight, or whatever. A man who appeared to be quite high-class (he interested her especially, her mouth watered thinking about all the golden trinkets he owned). Another... redhaired boy... who was probably important... maybe. Smiling warmly, she carried on. "But the wedding's open right? More or less. Anyone want to escort a lady to it? Pleaseeee, you'd be doing me a huuuuge favor!! Anyone?"

The man who interested her the most, since he was wealthy, had already gone a ways down the street; obviously he was heading straight towards the planned party. "I heard the wedding was to be held in the main courtyard of the castle, just beyond its gates, then it was to spill out into the town's square. Gosh, what a fantastic experience! Right? So, anyone want to take me to it? Hehehe.."

Her eyes darted after the disappearing rich male, she leaped up, waving, hoping to get his attention, as she began yelling to him. "HEY!! Y-YOU! M-MR. HANDSOME-BOOK MAN! YOU WANT TO ESCORT A CUTE LADY TO THE WEDDING, PERCHANCE?" She really hoped her words would reach him, shouting like that could be kind of embarrassing, especially in such a prim and proper city. She glanced to the men next to her, and Coin let out a little whimper and giggle. "Heh heh..."

After calling out Captain Xerxes the lavish looking man first spoke to Bishop. "Maybe I'll see you there later, as well. Seeing as you're a friend of Lenneth's, I might even be able to fix you a spot closer to the ceremony!"  He said, winking to Bishop. While he wanted to see the ceremony itself, but he knew that someone from a low class couldn't get into a royal wedding. Then out of nowhere a girl with blond hair appeared, she looked a tad bit younger than Bishop.

The girls started to talk about the wedding itself, how the wedding will take up both of the castle's main courtyard and in the towns square. Shouldn't be surprising that the wedding was so large, they were royalty and all. "It would be nice to go, but I still have my duties as a guard. Wouldn't want to get yelled at for staying out for too long while on patrol. I'll see you later Captain Xerxes ," Bishop said before taking a few steps back twords where he originally came from. Not knowing that when he would get back Bishop would be station with Guard duty in the town square during the wedding.

Hayate

Hayate sighed at the servants and strode towards them chin slightly up. The servants of the Valkyries were from a proud family tradition that reached back for hundreds of years. They were the best of the best trained from birth to groom and clean. But that day, they met their match. They fought hard, and she admired their bravery but by the time the dust had settled  it was clear who was in charge there. By the time they were through the foyer hayate had talked them into giving her flats over heels, given her a dress she could actually move in and a butler was standing by with her spear. Quickly she changed into her dress (Which she had to admit was quite flattering). And carefully supervised the storm of cosmetics and grooming that followed. She couldn't help it though, she loved it and she could tell may of the hand-maidens did as well. It was a wedding! And for a little while she felt like one of those vapid teenagers she guarded during her training, fussing over lipstick and even letting one of the particularly brave handmaidens add a couple of braids to her lengthy hair. Finally though the preparations were complete and Hayate was completely ready for the ceremony, and hopefully the chaos that would no doubt soon follow.

Skadi

Skadi growled a little under her breath, "You watch me Shy I just might. Maybe give him your favorite bow." She snapped at her friend playfully(?). Still though she had to admit that smell was just... intoxicating. She would need to speak to the elders about it. As she hopped from roof to roof she reflected on it. It was... nostalgic almost? Like something she smelled long long ago. Like smelling her parents again after many years. But she had to focus, this was an important day. "Two slight problems with that," She said wagging her tail and twitching her ears, "I don't think I could really blend into a crowd like that if I tried. You maybe, but I don't think I can really cover up my... features" She stopped in place on a rooftop and grabbed Shy pointing down at an abandoned storefront, lined with extravagant looking dresses. "Though that place looks like it might have... I don't know... a hat?"

Xerxes resisted the urge to whap Carren on the back of the head, as it seemed that he didn't really want to take this seriously, or just didn't believe him. However, he raised an eyebrow when he said they weren't there, and he turned around and a slight panic began to fill his chest. Both Bluebird and the girl she was with were gone, as well as the two other cloaked figures. Cursing his poor luck, he brought a hand up to his temple and began to rub it, releasing a sigh; this was really not the best day for something like this to happen. He racked his brain in thought, trying to figure out why they would be here today, but the only thing that seemed of importance today was the wedding of that runaway Princess. It can't be much of a coincidence; she was God's know where when she dissapeared, so it would be safe to assume she may have connections to the Outlanders somehow....

He was still in thought when a blonde, average girl approached him and Drake. With the way she dressed she could seem....noble? The garb was elegant but something struck Xerxes about it being rather odd. Still, he rolled her eyes as she began to speak, and he realized what this girl was doing. When Xerxes was still doing his time patrolling the streets, he had to deal with many a thief like this who believed themselves sly by feigning innocence and acting stupid. It was pretty obvious she was up to no good, but at the moment, Xerxes couldn't take the time out of his schedule to keep her in check. But then his eyes shifted over to the red head next to him, who was casually walking backwards...and an idea hatched in Xerxes head. He quickly walked over and pulled Drake back over to the girl with a smile, whispering to him.

"She's up to something. Stay close and keep an eye on her. Methinks a thief is in our midst."

He moved Drake next to the girl and gave her a small smile as he spoke to the youngling.

"The reception is open to everyone, but my man Bishop here is free; he can escort you there."

He gave Bishop a slap on the back, and with that, headed off into the crowd that was forming as he made his way to the wedding, keeping his eyes peeled. He couldn't waste this chance; if Bluebird was here, he needed to at least talk to her...
