Peppermint Patty

Name: Chantie Basura (Shan-tee Bes-oo-ra)

Desired Position: Oddities Seller, worker for the Greedo Royal Family.

Country of Origin: Galleria

Gender: Male

Age: DoB: 21st of Cariya- 22 years old

Hair / Fur: A silky white, plain and simple. No patterns, nothing- just solid white. He keeps it about an inch thick all around, and is smoother than velvet.

Eyes: Black, with red pupils. No, they aren’t bloody or anything- that’s just his natural appearance.

Height: 5’4

Weight: 110 lbs

Other Distinguishing Traits?: Sometimes his appearance can startle, even frighten, others upon their first time meeting him. Perhaps it’s the eyes?..
Species: Unknowing Ivve. He didn't grow up knowing of ivve, nor does he know of them still. To himself, he just assumes that he's a weird mixture of animals. From his own judgement, he’s concluded so far that he must have some bit of mouse in him, judging from the tail and color of fur. Others that know of ivve, however, might pick up a hint on it, due to his rather beastly appearance- though, this is usually dismissed, due to him being very civil and rational.
Physical Strength: He has no visible muscles- mostly because he just isn’t in shape. Though he’s tall and lanky, however, he is still a bit stronger than he looks- mostly because he’s used to being a pack camel, often seen carrying insane amounts of all sorts of objects- most in his huge backpack, and anything that doesn’t fit in there, he has strapped somewhere on his body.
Clothing: The picture above is of him wearing a skintight, thermal-warming suit. This is what he sometimes wears while alone during his exploration- it's light, and won't get caught on anything- plus, very warm. But in all actuality, he's rather fashion-obsessed. Nearly all occasions with other people- from walking out into the town, to attending a social gathering, call for one of his many outfits. His standard suit, which he will be wearing to the ball, is a bottle green, with a black tie.

Romance and Partners?: Yes, open to relationships- in due time. Currently, thoughts of romance and love haven’t really kicked in. Being around so many people at the ball with partners will, eventually, spark thoughts of love in his mind. It will take some time, but after a few bouts of self-doubt and denial, he’ll come to the conclusion that he feels unsafe being so frail, and women don’t really help with making him feel safe… In other words- homosexual.

Position on the Rebellion?: Anti-Rebellion. No matter how people feel, or who they are, he feels that fighting is the wrong way to go about this business, and that discussing matters formally could possibly work better.

Personality: Overall: He is an all-around goofball, and has trouble taking things seriously, unless it directly affects him. Being a traveling merchant, he exhibits many of the personality traits of such- he is good at sweet-talking, and tries to make people feel the best they can about themselves when trying to sell to them.
Good Traits: His carefree demeanor helps him to relax, even in dire situations. He has a certain charm to him that he can’t describe- but suspects is somewhat due to his height- that makes himself come off to people as more human than other arie, which definitely helps him in socializing, thus making him a people-person. Telling stories is a certain talent of his- his demeanor somehow makes them sounds more entertaining than they actually are, which commonly ends up with him telling these to small, attentive groups. Overall- a charming entertainer.
Bad Traits: Despite his charms, he is actually very doubting in his own abilities- he almost always second-guesses himself, and thus has developed a bad habit of being extremely hasty while making decisions, so as not to take too long with coming to conclusions. He is also pretty materialistic, and thinks about money way too often. Being a merchant, he has become rather pushy, personality-wise, and often tries to steer conversations his way without considering the other participants involved in the discussion. He sometimes makes promises that he knows he can’t keep, just to please whomever he was making the promise to temporarily.

Biography: Chantie was found one month after birth at the doorstep of a local arien orphanage. Of course, he doesn’t remember this- what he’s always grown up knowing is simply that of being flexible of whoever he has to stay with. For the first five years of his life, he lived in that very same orphanage, until one day, a blacksmith stopped in. Apparently, he had a bit of popularity in the community, and was feeling that he was a bit lonely- that he wanted an apprentice to take under his wing, and pass on his skills to. There were, along with Chantie, one other child in the orphanage (it was very small one). He could not decide which one would be more deserving of being adopted by him, and ultimately decided to simply take them both in, so as not to hurt the other one’s feelings. As they grew up on the small little mountain shack with him, he taught them how to weld and take care of themselves- as well as a few, more academic subjects. Despite his hulking, strong build, and intimidating stare, he was very kind and caring, never forgetting to take breaks from studies to let them have fun and know that he loves them.
Time went on, and these boys slowly went from toddlers, to children, to teenagers. Their own skills developed- the other child had become very strong, and developed a knack for welding- just like his father. However, Chantie didn’t seem to be developing quite like them… No, despite how much training he had went through alongside his brother, he never really got the hang of metalworking, nor did he ever keep up with his exercise- which could have factored into his inability to properly do the job. But that’s not to say that he didn’t have strengths- quite the opposite, in fact. The father noticed that, on their many trips into caves and mines to retrieve iron ore, he seemed to have a knack for navigating the tunnels, and was keen with his surroundings and certain signs- even leading them to a large bit of gold at one point. It seemed, overall, that he was rather good at finding valuable materials and, sometimes, even ancient objects from many years past.
As they finally reached the age of 19, he felt it was right for them to start their own lives- so, on the morning of the first day of the new year, he sent them to go their own ways- each with a special gift that would help them to be successful. His brother received just enough money to make his own blacksmithing station in whatever future house he’d end up in. As for Chantie, he received an enormous backpack, a thin cloak, and a few essential archaeology tools to start himself off with. He bid them farewell with a hug from each, and that was the last the brothers saw of their father- as well as each other…
Since then, Chantie discovered his calling in life- exploring. Realizing his own strengths at this, he worked through the rest of these years scouring the world, whether it be long-abandoned villages, to ancient, buried palaces, to old, forgotten mines, he was always able to salvage at least one thing of value. Of course, finding old objects wasn’t enough to earn money alone, so he taught himself how to manage money, and how to appeal to potential customers. His stock of objects always changes, and he never stays in one place for more than two months- usually renting out a very small, unused business building to sell his wares at for the time that he stays in that town. His wares fetch for high prices, and, currently, he is well-on, as far as finances go. This is mostly because of his fairly recently-made connections to the Greedo royal family- in fact, he sells so much to them, they've considered him to be part of the castle staff, of sorts. They are taking him along to the ball as a formal worker of the royal family.

Magic Level:
Personal? Not much. The most he really uses are aesthetic spells- such as color-changing ones, and whatnot... On the other hand, as he’s been spending practically his entire life exploring, finding extremely old objects of a large variety, he has a mishmash of magical objects that he could use. There are way too many to list them all, and a lot of them have left his possession, since his whole job consists of selling these antiques, but to name a few that he always keeps on him, there is:
Defensive Saber: A magical fencer's sword- it is impossible to break, no matter what you try. The downside? It can only be used for defending, and if it makes contact with someone else's body, it'll simply bend as if it is made of rubber, doing no harm to them.

Shield Boomerang: A magical, round shield that can be thrown like a Frisbee, and always returns to the user's hands.. It is rimmed with a very strong metal- but if it is being used to block an attack, it vanishes for five minutes upon impact with the opposing weapon.
Flame Pot: A moderately-sized pot that will, when used, suck in all nearby flames from the air- such as from candles or the like. Nothing else will be sucked in. When it is done sucking flames, it will spew them back out in a large puff of fire. The more flames that are sucked in beforehand, the larger the puff when regurgitated.
Magical Book of Magic: A spell book that has the ability to perform spells on its own if provided enough magical energy to do so. Unfortunately, as the book itself is magic, he cannot perform the spells on his own- and the book commonly disappears for unset amounts of time- sometimes days, even- before reappearing right back into his pack.

Last Year's Cendrillion Ball: He was not able to attend, as he was too late to the kingdom to find a job that would get him in. He arrived to the kingdom a month early this year, and got the catering job two weeks in advance, just so his chances would be maximized.

Role: He's simply earning some money while seeing the things he’s always wished to see. He’s working as a caterer just so he can be at the ball for, what he thinks, will be the only time he ever will be able to attend in his life. He plans to quit his job and go back to his old occupation as soon as all of the events are over.

Relations:
Dahlia: The princess of Greedo. Makes sense, seeing as how he works for the Greedo Kingdom, His relationship is a lot more personal and friendly with her than with the rest of the family, though. She is, after all, very sociable.
Tristan: The prince of the Greedo kingdom. He is a lot less close to him than he is the princess- but they're acquaintances, at least.

Extra: Despite his otherworldly appearance, he holds himself as closely to a human as possible. This includes partaking in human pastimes- such as dancing- though he knows he’ll never be allowed to at the ball. He has an obsession with humans- he loves them. Everything from the way they do the things they do, to the simple pastimes they partake in, he loves it all. When speaking with humans, he tries to act as un-arien as possible- his height specifically playing into how he does this. He’s even taught himself quite a lot of local human speech patterns and lingo of the kingdom in preparation for this ball. When talked down to, or not treated like a human would be treated by another person, he becomes a bit reclusive, feeling small and unimportant.

Theme of Chantie (Honestly just one to keep in your mind when your character is interacting with him, I suppose. Or not. I can't control what you do)

Oh, the tales I have!

Scuffle

Battle for the Royal Family

Both pieces of art were commissioned by me specifically for this character. The first picture was drawn by EbonyPlume, and the second by PotooBrigham. I highly recommend checking them out, and thank them so, so much for their endless talent bringing my character to life.
