Appearance
Celeste may not be the first thing that comes to mind when people think of a ballerina. She's 5 foot five inches and weighs 140 pounds. Years of ballet training left her with toned legs and thighs, her genes graced her with ample curves. Her skin is smooth, clear and dark at night and soaks in the sun's rays on the brighter, cloudless days. She has warm, amber eyes that flicker against her dark skin and shine in the light. Her nose is wide, and her lips are plump. Celeste doesn't have the smooth, corkscrew hair she envies in other girls. Her hair is black and very thick, but soft to the touch. Thanks to her mother's secret hair concoctions she's been able to grow it out a little past her shoulders. She likes to wear it down, often putting a simple headband or scarf in as an accessory. She's not a big fan of jewelry with the exception of a prized pair of golden hoop earrings she wear that she feels give her that Nubian queen vibe.
Clothing style-
Celeste's likes to keep cute. When it comes to her wardrobe, she's a fan of loud colors. Rather than, baggy clothes, she prefers to wear clothes that shape to her body and enjoys crop-tops.

Persona
Personality:
Celeste is like bonfire, or flames in a hearth. Not too big and seemingly harmless, but if you aren't careful and rub her the wrong way, she'll burn you just as any other flame would. Celeste is very outspoken and even when she's completely wrong, the timing is bad or it's unnecessary, she'll speak what's on her mind whenever and where ever she sees fit. That being said, this is not say she's outwardly rude to anyone. If bitten, she bites back. Often times her fierce attitude works against her more than it does in her favor. She never knows when she's met her match or when to keep her mouth shut. Sometimes it's a case of her being outright disrespectful other times she's brave enough to stand up and speak her mind to someone no matter high above her on the totem pole they are. She's extremely stubborn and doesn't like to give in or accept defeat even when she's clearly beaten. However, she is not without her softer side. For the same way a fire can burn you, it can also keep you warm, and safe from the cold. Despite her snappiness, Celeste is also compassionate and nurturing to those close to her, and even those not so close to her on occasion She's very loyal and protective of her friends, sometimes overly protective. She is quite brash, and wears her heart on her sleeve. In dire, desperate situations that require a more logical subtle approach, Celeste will act brashly based on her emotions.

History: (WIP)
Being born of a Haitian mother, Nadine, and Black father, Julius, Celeste found her self caught between worlds while growing up in her hometown of New Orleans, Louisiana. Nadine and Julius loved each other. They'd loved each other since the day they first met and they still loved each other. This is what they both would swear to her at the end of every argument. After they had finished yelling at each other, exchanging curses in their native tongues and tearing each other down, they would come up to her room where she had long since curled up in bed and trapped her head between her pillow and her mattress. They would sit on the bed and talk to her about how much they loved each other. And deep down inside of her, she knew this to be true, but with each argument, that certainty she had would only sink deeper. She loved her parents the walks of life she came from but there were days where she felt as if she was a weapon in a war between the two of them. Her father would go on about how her mother thought she was better than him because he, as he would put it, "Was just plain ol' black." She grew up getting bitter looks from him whenever she spoke Kreyol with her mother, and getting bitter looks from her mother whenever she and her father poked fun at how boring the Pastors sermon had been in church.
But for as much as they argued, they had their good days, and plenty of them although sometimes they were far and few between. As much as Nadine and Julius played tug of war with her, Celeste still managed to find her own standing in between the two worlds, and also create one for herself. She found her passion for dance at the age of five, after her kindergarten class went on a field trip to go to a theater and watch a ballet rehersal. While many of the other kids fell asleep, Celeste looked up and decided that some day, she wanted to be on a stage. After much begging, more so to her mother than her father, she was allowed to take up dance and it became an integral part of her life. While her mother was never very thrilled about her newfound passion, she received much support from her father.
At the age of 14, Celeste and her family packed up and moved to Brooklyn so that her father could keep his job with the company he works for. Currently, her father works a factory job as a general assembler and her mother works at a nursing home. Celeste continues to pursue her passion for dance, trying to keep her head above water in the cold, heartless streets of the Concrete Jungle.
