Fantasy Cavallon (Vvelvet, Sleepy Sleuth)

"Mhm..but I..I have an idea of what we could do to potentially stop this," She suggests, watching him cook. Being a maid, cooking was one of the things she did the most and she had to stop herself from going and helping.
"What if we go to the pastor? He has the most influence over the people of Cavallon. His opinion matters to many,"

Morris glanced upward as he pondered Helen's suggestion. He knew Pastor Gascoigne well enough to know that the old fellow was a good man as well as a godly one. If anyone was opposed to the spreading cult, it was the pastor.

"Good idea, miss," Morris said with a nod. "I'm certain he'll assist us once he knows the depths of this cult's depravity."

The smell of burning eggs brought his attention back to the stovetop. Morris gave them a final stir in the pan before he scraped the sorry excuse for breakfast onto a plate. He handed it to Helen with a grin.

Helen chuckled at the slightly burnt eggs she was served. "I appreciate the effort, thank you," She helped herself to a knife and fork, then scrapped off all the burnt bits of egg.
"Hes a very kind man, he'd really have no reason not too," Helen added while munching on bland egg. "You going to have any yourself?"

After Helen's prompting, Morris scraped the remaining eggs onto a plate for himself. He often forewent meals when his mind was on a task, sometimes to his own detriment. He ate like a military man, all but inhaling his food. Once he was finished, he silently went to the washtub to scrub down his dishes.

"Thank you, Helen," he said at last.

She gave him her plate to clean, "Your most welcome," It felt nice not needing to do chores for once, eventhough in her mimd she was sort of conditioned to do so.
Once he was done, the girl offered to go the church with him to speak to the pastor.

They'd arrive during a quiet Sunday morning. No one was there but him as he quietly read to himself. "Ah! Helen and..Morris is it? How lovely is it to see you this morning?" He offered a warm and welcoming smile to the both of them and Helen would meekly return it.

Morris shook Pastor Gascoigne's hand with gusto. He had a high opinion of the priest, and hoped the three of them would be able to solve the matter of the cult without bloodshed. However, the fact that he had his sword clasped to his belt indicated that he was prepared to fight if all other options were exhausted.

"We need your help, pastor," he explained. "Those strangers who keep coming to town are hunting Helen. She needs our help."

"Victor Inc? Those men spoke to me just yesterday about their relocation process and helping Cavallon. They seemed like honest men, but I may have been wrong about that."
Even the pastor was falling for their manipulation.
"They are far from honest men. They are deceitful and are leading people into their cult." Helen spoke with a hint of desperation, his help would calm her nerves.
"What?"
"Pastor Gascoigne, those men are lying to everyone in Cavallon and they take people to a horrid place where they'll be brainwashed into worshipping a man that is not worthy of the title 'god'. If you go there, you'll be treated as sub-human and numbered," Helen showed Gascoigne the tattoo she had since she was a child, and his eyes widdened in horror.
"You say that they are hunting you?" He took her arm and looked at the tattoo carefully.
"They don't know I live here, but if they find out..i'll.." Her voice trembled and trailed off.
"I believe you. Both of you, and I'll help. Half of my congregation had been taken to this sinful place, oh god.." There was clear worry on his face.
"Please warn the few remaining people left to not believe the false life they are selling. You have enough influence to stop more people from following them.." Helen pleaded.
