Name: Catherine Terri

Alias: Blue Fox (Given by the Lilties, named after the color of her hair and her thieving style)

Age: 23

Appearance:

Personality: Cold and serious, Catherine thinks of herself first, her apprentice second, and everything else last. Infamous among the Lilty law enforcement, she evades capture at every turn and takes what she wants at every opportunity. She hunts purely for sport, and as such she approaches encounters in a very careful manner - If there's a sign she's been spotted, she will more often than not run, preferring to avoid direct conflict wherever possible. She is very confident in her skills, but she prefers not to boast about it as doing so reminds her of her rival, Rowla.

Skills:

  • Catherine is agile and quick on her feet, able to avoid many attacks and travel a far greater distance alone than when slowed down by companions.
  • She is constantly alert due to being hunted actively for most of her life. As such, she is able to react extremely quickly to threats and surprises, and also has an acute sense of when she's being followed - She's automatically suspicious of any noise, and treats them as if a living thing was the cause.
  • She is a masterful thief, even renowned among the Selkies themselves. She can take whatever she wants, whenever she wants, exploiting any vulnerabilities that exist, and she knows it too.

Equipment:

  • A Dual Shooter racket. Rackets like this Aura Racket are the standard weapon of choice for Selkies, and this particular one was built in such a way that, when focusing her energy through it and releasing it, it fires two bolts of magic at a time instead of one. Each usage of a Focus Attack takes time to charge. Catherine also keeps dual daggers on her as well, in case her racket isn't enough to ward off enemies.
  • A Mythril Belt that she stores various mixtures her apprentice creates. She usually only carries two at a time - One to enhance her stamina, the other helps with night vision.
  • She carries four Magicite with her wherever she goes: Two Cure, one Life, and one Blizzard. These can be used as many times as needed without detriment, but must be charged for about 1 second before they are able to be cast.

Cure heals the wounds of any allies in a small area around where she casts it. If combined with another Cure, it creates Curaga, which heals all allies in the area, but takes twice as long to charge due to requiring channels from two different Magicite.
  • Blizzard casts a freezing spell in a small area around where she casts it. Those hit by the spell, if vulnerable to the cold, will be frozen for a short time. She rarely uses this spell, however, instead preferring to combine it with Life to create Slow, which slows down her target. However, it takes twice as long to charge.
  • Life can either be solely used for spell fusion, bring someone back from the brink of death (But not actually having died yet), or revive them after death. Considering the power of these abilites, I'll let @The Omen of Death decide how much Life can do.
  • The reason she carries two Cure Magicite with her is because, when two Cure and one Life Magicite are combined into a single spell, it creates Haste, which greatly improves movement and casting speed (But not attack speed). Naturally, it takes several seconds to cast due to being channeled from three different Magicite, but the effect lasts for well over five minutes each time.

[*]She wears a ring infused with the power of Myrrh, granting her the ability to ward off Miasma (The deadly toxin that covers the land) without the need for a Crystal Chalice.

Background: Catherine lived in Leuda for most of her childhood, like most other Selkies, as their kind were exiled by the reigning power at the time, the Lilties. She quickly learned that in order to survive in such a community, she had to live like them. Basically, she lived a fairly standard Selkie childhood, with the exception that she was very rapidly learning and excelling at the Selkie trade, surpassing all of her peers and even impressing some of the adults. She eventually grew tired of stealing from other Selkies and, after having discovered their exile was lifted thanks to the persuasion of the Clavats who wanted more diversity in their communities, made her way to the mainland, where she settled down in a relatively new Clavat village called Tipa, only a few years old. There, she and her family set up a market to sell things from - Things that, naturally, were stolen goods Catherine obtained herself, though a good amount of them were legitimate as well (Don't buy anything expensive from her store if you'd rather not own stolen items - Food, clothing, etc. are things that are usually shipped in from respected places or created in Tipa itself). In Tipa, she met another Selkie, Alexis Selani, who had been born in Tipa through a Selkie family who had helped found the small village. As such, she had lived among Clavats her whole life, and knew nothing of the Selkie lifestyle. Catherine took her in as an apprentice after much insistence from the girl, and the two began to learn from each other - Alexis learned the art of thievery, while Catherine began to soften up to people thanks to Alexis' kindness.

Meanwhile, Catherine began to build up a reputation, particularly among the Lilties to the North. Her continued swipe-and-bolt hits on unsuspecting travelers caught their attention quickly, and the Liltian militia were ordered to apprehend her after the theft of a precious artifact - A ring, one that captains often used to lead their armies through the Miasma. This is the point in time she obtained her title, as nobody knew her name at the time, nor have they ever learned it since.

Other: Alexis' kindness is actually the reason for Catherine's policy to avoid direct confrontation with her targets. Before they met, she was more aggressive, fighting people that spotted her rather than running. After spending some time with Alexis, Catherine softened up her tactics a bit, and even changed her fighting style to prefer evasion over aggression. She also knows two other Clavats, Michael and Amelia, who are the children of the village's blacksmith and fisherman, respectively. No Lilties live in Tipa, hence why her operation there remains unknown to them.

I was going to say that magic works like superpowers so therefore not to be allowed, but then I realized they work by things she holds onto (which would have been stripped off of her). As for life, I'd say at most brings them back from the brink, but can only heal half of their wounds healed. Other than that accepted!

Oh, one other thing I forgot to mention, is that all Magicite and Focus Attacks have a limited range of about 5 meters. Just in case it's important.
