May 25th 2015 - Abigail Chapman, age 15, is reported missing, her last known whereabouts being her bedroom. There was no sign of forced entry, although deputies noted that a nearby tree seemed to be fire-damaged on the side facing her bedroom window. A search is conducted by the Sheriff's department and members of the community sweeping the woods with flashlights. Winona Lewis even used her little drone to help out, but they didn't find Abby.
August 29th 2015 - Emily Fontenot, age 6, is reported missing within an hour of her disappearance from a family picnic by the lakeside. Another search is conducted, but again, she isn't found. Tony Dagneau's fishing boat, however, is found abandoned on the opposite side of the lake. Tony's mother reports him missing two days later, saying he didn't come home after a visit to the lake.
August 31st 2015 - At 11AM a hiker from Boston named Charlie Swanson stumbles on Abigail Chapman's corpse on a hiking trail just south of the town, less than five miles from her home and overlooking the lake. He immediately calls 911 and eventually gets through to the Wilton SD. Cursory examination of the scene indicates her body was dumped there sometime in the early morning. Swanson, on the verge of a nervous breakdown from the sight, is staying at Ma Mathers' Guesthouse for further questioning. Abigail's body is in strorage at Dr. Potter's clinic because the nearest hospital is two hours away.
