  born in the west bengal capital and moved to rose valley as an infant, ivy has little to no connection with her birthplace, other than the faded photographs hidden within scrapbooks. the abrupt move to the other side of the world was her father's decision, a business move that he thought of to begin his mass communications industry after decades of phenomenal success with his oil industry.
  
  of course, the gholshal's built their life on the economically developed side of rose valley, attending business galas and constantly going about construction in their beach-side mansion. an only child, ivy was endlessly spoiled and cared for by both her parents and maids that had come and gone as she grew.
  
  in high school, there was no possible way to not know ivy's name; her riches and naturally extroverted personality easily kept her at the top of the food chain and surrounded by an assortment of friends. she had the perfect grades, and when she would smile, it was as if the sun was gleaming just a little brighter.
  
  around the end of her junior year of high school, sudden changes began to take place in the gholshal household. her father had reportedly made an unfortunate business deal with his oil company that cost him nearly millions in dollars and tarnished his name. her grandfather took the house from her father until he could reestablish his stock, and the family had to move in to an apartment in an area infamous for its gang activity.
  
  try as her mother might to decorate their apartment lavishly and with expensive decor, the family was put on a strict budget until her father could bring back money to their name. by then, ivy had been outcast by her so-called friends and labeled as a 'cigarette'. it didn't help that a few short months later, she was diagnosed with precordial catch syndrome, a reoccurring stabbing pain in her left rib cage.
  
  of the family of three, ivy was affected the most by the loss of money. while she did graduate high school, her grades had slipped in her final year, and her dream to attend an ivy league school had been crushed. now attending a local college and majoring in mass communications, she is trying to build her life again, but finds it difficult to stay out of trouble when the cigarettes are so intriguing.

Amber has quite the diverse personality. Around people she doesn't know, she comes off as a charismatic socialite who seems full of herself. AJ acts as though she's filled with confidence, to the point where she seems more arrogant than anything. She'll chat with anyone and everyone, but never fully engages with people until she knows them well enough. Trusting has always been hard for her, so before she sits down and tells you about her problems, you'll definitely have to mean something to her. On the other hand, she doesn't have to know a person for two minutes before listening to whatever troubles they may have. The more she knows about someone, the more she can determine if they're worth her friendship. And once someone earns AJ's friendship? They've earned a lifetime of support, compassion, love, and terrible jokes. Once she drops her confident and somewhat arrogant facade, she's carefree and childlike, having dreams of adventure for every new day. Overall, to sum her personality up into simple words, AJ is cautious, independent, understanding, caring, and adventurous. All you have to do is get past her arrogant act to be greeted by a genuinely sweet girl.​

Biography​

Amber, the definition of the troubled youth. She refuses to talk about her past, and due to this not much is known about her. When referring to it, most responses that come from her are along the lines of "it's complicated," "nothing special," and "just the usual sob story of a fucked up girl." By the way she reacts to conversations along the line of abuse- of any sort- one can infer that she too was abused in her youth, but only few know her past. Not even her closest friends know the majority of it, as all she has ever disclosed to them is that she was hurt a lot as a kid, and deflects any further questions. She doesn't consider her situation "special" or any different than anyone else's. Everyone has different stories, and she doesn't think it's necessary to share her own.

Raised by a whore of a mother who had a terrible taste in lovers, AJ was exposed to abuse from early on. Her and her mom jumped from house to house, living with whatever shitty boyfriend she could find before being kicked out onto the streets once again. AJ's mom would much rather manipulate, cheat, and steal from any man she could find instead of get a job as a functioning member of society. Living with an almost always drunk mother, and constantly abusive father figures, Amber adapted to the life quickly. Most of her day to day life was to stay out of trouble with the man of the house, take care of her mother after any altercations, and most frequently- take the blame for most any dangerous situation her mother had gotten herself into. Her mother spilled a bottle of her boyfriend's liqueur? AJ took the abuse. One of her boyfriends realized she was stealing for them? It was Amber's fault. It wasn't as though her mom was intentionally making her take the blame, that was Amber's own decision. Without a mother, she would be lost. Amber lived this life of constant abuse and running from home to home up until she was sixteen.

One of her mom's worst boyfriends had caught on to the fact that her mother was stealing from him and cheating with other men, and he threatened her life. Amber tried to interject and take the blame, take the violence that he no doubt would inflict on her mother, but he knew that for once- the 'devil child' wasn't to blame. That was when her mother started trying to strike a deal with her boyfriend in exchange for her life. He was dead set on killing her, but one offer seemed to change his mind. He would spare Amber's mother so long as she gave back what she still had from stealing from him and left his sight for good, and one night to do whatever he pleased with the young teen. AJ knew as soon as the deal was offered, that she was in for trouble. She could have ran away, but despite the betrayal that her mother imposed on her, Amber knew that her mother would be as good as dead if she didn't comply. AJ hadn't seen her mother again after that night. She had no desire to. Amber continued her life flying solo. She had built up her emotional walls during her youth, and only continues to fortify them as she grows older. She keeps to the streets, hanging around with those that she trusts, and bunking down with whoever is willing to take her in for the night. ((She won't talk about this much at all, but it makes for good character development and the like.))

Having grown up with everything she could ever dream of right at her fingertips, Andy comes off as (and is) very privileged and entitled. She's quite bubbly most of the time, though around her family she's sassy and ungrateful. In her mind, the world owes her everything, and she sure as hell deserved a better set of parents. Andy is a hopeless romantic, though she's not very smooth, is awkward around those she likes, and does everything in her power to ignore the attraction she feels to the same gender. So ... her romance life isn't very active. Andy grew up in one of the richest neighborhoods, lived in one of the largest mansions, and were raised by some of the best nannies money could buy (and her parents, she supposed, when it came to bigger things and she wasn't so slobbery). As she grew, she was accostumed to getting anything she wanted, at any time she wanted, from chocolate-covered strawberries to a brande-new Porche. Even though she lived as and was treated like a princess, Andy sure never acted like the Disney kind (though, she definitely looks like one). Fights with her parents were common, misbehavior got her grounded often, and she snuck out about as much as she texted. It was only a matter of time before her parents had enough, though an argument over whether or not she'd be going to college or dating some guy she barely knew to form some stupid business alliance was never the thing she'd thought would get her kicked out. Yeah, kicked out. Andy's prediciment is urgent and growing -- if one of her friends can't take her in, she'll be alone on the streets, forced to stay in a hotel or worse ... get caught near the Cigarettes.

All of Will's "friends" aren't good for him, encouraging his bad behavior. He has no problem backstabbing his fake friends when they are no use to him. While to most he seems like a entitled jerk his real friends get to know his good side.

The music loving side of Will, that's what his friends experience. This is the real Will most don't see. This side of him contains his good traits, and can be a true friend to someone, all they have to to is find it.

HisStory
THE BEGINNING: Will was born and raised in the city of Rose Valley to a founding family. He grew up surrounded by the spoils of being rich, causing him to become a bit of a snob. At the age of 7 he was given twin white huskies, with clear blue eyes, he named one "Marshmallow" and the other "Alaska." Years passed leaving Will's sheltered life unharmed, untill a controversal death struck his family. His older sister who he had been very close with had left a year prior to her supposed suicide, traumatizing Will. He could remember Sparrow arguing with their parents over her future involving the family company. The arguments had scared Will, ranging from shouting to physical abuse. One day, Sparrow couldn't take it anymore and left Will's family forever. This led to Will blaming his parents for her death, causing him to imagine they killed her. After her death, the parents tried to distract Will from feeling lonely by giving him expensive gifts. Among these were a lamborghini and many others but none could replace Sparrow or heal the mental damage.

THE COMPANY: His parents, Caroline and Charles Lockwood are the owners of a company named "Lockwood Corporations." LC specialize in the sale of weaponry to the U.S. military, ranging from automatic weapons to weapons of mass destruction, making them millions. Some people blamed LC for selling "off the shore" but eventually disappeared or shut their mouths. After the controversial death of there eldest daughter, the next to be heir to the company was Will. While he rejects the idea in his mind, the idea of telling his parents scares him. His parents argue with each other all the time shooting fear into Will.

THE LONELY DAYS: Ever since the death of his sister, he never felt the same. The only people he found comfort in, well weren't people they were his dogs. Most of his days he stayed home, feeling depressed. His parents couldn't wait to get him going so when the next school year started, he was sent directly to Rose Valley High. He eventually found his passion for music but knows his parents would not approve. He eventually got the confidence to tell his parents about his music. His father told him his only future was with the business and beat Will. After that Will knew never to bring it up around anyone. Music brings him joy, gives him a reason to live, and connects him to the world but he has to keep it a secret. At school he portrays himself the way his parents would want. He studies music in secret but is known for being on the football team, which he despises. While acting cruel and stuck up to people would normally get you no friends, he was a candy which attracted many teens to the sweet sugar.

personality: Will has two sides to his personality. He feels like he has to act the way his parents would want, causing him to act like a bitchy snob to most people. He hates everything about his life but pretends to be the kid who's got it all. Partying and drinking around his "friends" in public, while practicing his music in secret. All of Will's "friends" aren't good for him, encouraging his bad behavior. He has no problem backstabbing his fake friends when they are no use to him. While to most he seems like a entitled jerk his real friends get to know his good side.

HisStory
THE BEGINNING: Will was born and raised in the city of Rose Valley to a founding family. He grew up surrounded by the spoils of being rich, causing him to become a bit of a snob. At the age of 7 he was given twin white huskies, with clear blue eyes, he named one "Marshmallow" and the other "Alaska." Years passed leaving Will's sheltered life unharmed, untill a controversal death struck his family. His older sister who he had been very close with had left a year prior to her supposed suicide, traumatizing Will. He could remember Sparrow arguing with their parents over her future involving the family company. The arguments had scared Will, ranging from shouting to physical abuse. One day, Sparrow couldn't take it anymore and left Will's family forever. This led to Will blaming his parents for her death, causing him to imagine they killed her. After her death, the parents tried to distract Will from feeling lonely by giving him expensive gifts. Among these were a lamborghini and many others but none could replace Sparrow or heal the mental damage.

THE COMPANY: His parents, Caroline and Charles Lockwood are the owners of a company named "Lockwood Corporations." LC specialize in the sale of weaponry to the U.S. military, ranging from automatic weapons to weapons of mass destruction, making them millions. Some people blamed LC for selling "off the shore" but eventually disappeared or shut their mouths. After the controversial death of there eldest daughter, the next to be heir to the company was Will. While he rejects the idea in his mind, the idea of telling his parents scares him. His parents argue with each other all the time shooting fear into Will.

THE LONELY DAYS: Ever since the death of his sister, he never felt the same. The only people he found comfort in, well weren't people they were his dogs. Most of his days he stayed home, feeling depressed. His parents couldn't wait to get him going so when the next school year started, he was sent directly to Rose Valley High. He eventually found his passion for music but knows his parents would not approve. He eventually got the confidence to tell his parents about his music. His father told him his only future was with the business and beat Will. After that Will knew never to bring it up around anyone. Music brings him joy, gives him a reason to live, and connects him to the world but he has to keep it a secret. At school he portrays himself the way his parents would want. He studies music in secret but is known for being on the football team, which he despises. While acting cruel and stuck up to people would normally get you no friends, he was a candy which attracted many teens to the sweet sugar.

Jason is athletic, confident, and charismatic: automatically landing him spots on the school's football and basketball teams. He has an easy time making people in his immediate social circle like him, but does struggle with making genuine connections with others. He has a hard time trusting people, but once you earn Jason's favor then he's ride or die till the end. His loyal to those he deems worthy of being his friends and will do anything he can to back them up. He's typically pretty "cheery" if that's the word you want to use, but the cup is more often than not half-full through Jason's eyes. Though it's an admirable outlook that people may need now and again, Jason's very reliant on the idea that things will just work out in the end without any effort on his part.

Jason's a bit of a meathead and better conveys his emotions through actions rather than words. This often lands him right in the middle of fights that he has almost always has started. He's self-centered and easily offended, which often leads to his excessively aggressive behavior. Jason, to be frank, is a bully: getting his kicks out of picking on people smaller or weaker than him. He has the capability to be soft and sensitive, but tends to hide those qualities in fear of being emasculated. He feels the need to always be seen as the 'tough guy' or the 'dominant male' in fear of being hurt or taken advantage of. As Jason now begins to struggle with his sexual identity, he has found himself targeting boys that has even the slightest attraction to. He'll bully or push them around in hopes that this will somehow kill his feelings for them, but more often than not it only heightens his sexual confusion.

Biography
Jason Kwan was born as the youngest of five brothers whom were all pressured to be the peak image of masculinity and toughness. Competition between the boys was enforced and fighting (physical and verbal) was encouraged. If you couldn't take it, if you broke under the pressure, then you just weren't "man" enough. Their father led an unsavory life of crime while their mother desperately tried to raise her sons under an honest living as a waitress. Jason's mother suffered as much abuse as the boys did: both physical and emotional. One step out of line, one fuck-up, one back-handed comment, meant that you needed to be punished no matter what.

Jason's father left his life when he was eleven after his oldest brother, Connor, reported the abuse to the police. As their father left the Kwan's life, things unfortunately started to change for the worse. Their mother was not deemed capable of caring for her children, after years of domestic trauma, and was admitted to a psychiatric hospital soon after their father was imprisoned. Two of Jason's elder brothers, Trevor and Michael, both fell into the same life of drugs and crime their father had. They were continuously in and out of jail while Jason was growing up with Connor constantly bailing them out. Their troubled lifestyle caught up with them when Trevor and Michael got into a fatal car accident during a police chase: killing the 4th eldest son Daniel, who had been enticed to tag along with the promise of liquor and clubbing. This time Connor was not there to save them from the law.

Connor was the one who raised Jason after their mother was admitted for treatment. He went to college, got a degree in teaching, and started to get his life together. Connor wants Jason to do the same, but fears that he'll fall down the same path as the rest of their family as Jason gets more involved with the Cigarettes. As for Jason? He loves his brother to death, but couldn't give less of a damn about school and reputation. His father and other older brothers always made him feel powerless and weak: now was his chance to finally feel like he could have the upper hand.

Recently, the Kwan's father contacted the two remaining brothers in hopes of reconnecting. Neither Jason nor Connor have any intention of taking the man up on his offer, but are curious to know what he could possibly want with them after all these years. Does he actually want to become a better father or is there something far more sinister up his sleeve?

When she reached her teen years her mental health dipped dramatically. She started self harming and using all kinds of narcotics. Constantly unstable and in and out of inpatient psychiatric wards, her illness took its toll on her parent's own mental health. Sorcha didn't care, or perhaps more accurately didn't notice, however the resentment she received from both her siblings was unpleasant. Plus, whenever she failed to hide her stash, her drugs were flushed, and whenever she got high or came home stoned she was scalded. So, at sixteen, Sorcha left home. At first her parents payed the rent for a small apartment to get her out of the house, but that was the extent of their support. Soon that stopped and Sorcha had to hop between jobs just to keep her one room apartment. Her mother tried visiting her occasionally, however her daughter's cold indifference soon put a stop to that. Sorcha didn't mind. If anything, she liked the independence. And so, she became one of the Cigarettes.
