VISAGE

basic description. Scooter has brown, wavy hair that has a tendency to stick up all over the place even if he puts a comb through it, leading to him wearing his signature dark-red slouch beanie to try and cover it up a little. He has pale skin and some freckles on his shoulders, but none really on his face, and when he smiles he has visible dimples. He wears a pair of wire-frame glasses because of his extreme lack of depth perception, though a lot of the time they're hanging around his neck from a glasses chain since he doesn't need them all the time and they can get tedious. A lot of the time, he can be found in a comfortable t-shirt, jeans, and hike boots, all of which is very in line with how often he's outdoors. Of course, when he isn't in danger of getting dirt and grime from the outdoors all over him, he does wear outfit befitting of a 'typical' academic; he has a lot of button downs patterned with niche designs (he has one with different dragonflies on it that he loves dearly) and pairs them with a good pair of slacks and dress shoes.
build. Scooter is...well, okay, look. He's not exactly in shape, per say, but he's not out of shape. Sure, on one hand, he has a little bit of pudge, but on the other, a lot of his course work requires him being out in the woods flipping logs or trudging through salt marshes and estuaries to record data. He doesn't work out a lot outside of his hiking, though, so he isn't insanely buff or anything.

1— As any entomologist is, he has very stubborn opinions on the whole 'which order of insects is the most diverse group on earth?' question. Sure, common knowledge would tell you beetles, but he's a die-hard believer that flies are going to win out over all. If you ever make the mistake of asking him about such things, you should probably be ready to sit down to a whole tedtalk about it.
2— He has a bad habit of calling things by their scientific names. Every fly is 'diptera', every dragonfly or damselfly 'odonata'. It isn't malicious or an effort to seem smart, its more that he forgets that other people don't know what the fuck any of that means. He at the very least corrects himself pretty quickly.
3— If he comes across an invertebrate, he will take the time to identify it. It doesn't matter what he's doing; he's stopped mid-statement and gotten distracted by a large bug before completely dropping whatever conversation he was having to grab his net and go sprinting after it.
4— He has low muscle tone, along with a handy number of other unidentified disabilities. It hasn't stopped him yet, but his ankles and knees have been known to randomly give out. He does have a cane, but he tends not to bring it with him most places out of embarrassment.
5— He has a pet giant millipede back home that he's lovingly named 'Land Rover'
6— He went to one party his freshman year of college and then never went to any other one ever again. It was on a whim and he ended up being in charge of watching over a stranger who was violently vomiting into a toilet, who then shut the door on him because apparently they BOTH didn't want to be in the situation they were in. He decided to never go to a party ever again.
7— The other reason he wears his slouch beanie all the time is to help people identify him on-sight. He has a hard time with faces, so he figures other people do as well.
8— He has a collection of glasses chains with different charms on them. His favorite is one with bee charms; if there was one with fly charms, he'd probably like it more, but unfortunately the entomology community hasn't churned out that sort of content out yet.
9— Butterflies are his mortal enemy.
10— If given the chance, he will stand out in water. He has waders specifically for that purpose. Something about standing in a river or creek is just rejuvenating.
11— His favorite architectural structure is a good bridge. Preferably over water, but really any bridge will do it.
12— Normal pencils are a no-go, he can't stand them. The texture and feeling of using one is unbearable.
13— He used to be very into Pokemon. This is very much on track for someone who obsessively looks into the evolutionary history of invertebrates.
14— Believer in 'urban foraging', aka the 'finders keepers losers weepers' methodology of finding things left behind around his campus and taking them. Any grubhub order abandoned for over 20 minutes is fair game.
15— He had zero close friends during high school. He did, however, do other people's homework for money.
16— Technically speaking, he's published! But it's really only because he provided data for a project one of his professors was doing and they credited him for his small effort. He's still extremely happy about it.
17— He's really bad at estimating things, whether it be time or distance or, perhaps, the time it takes to travel a distance.
18— He carries around a multitool, but the only real purpose it serves is for him to flick out the knife or mini-saw and use it to remove shelf fungi from trees to get a better look at them.
19— Collector of stress toys. This is likely due to all the stress that is consuming him at any given point in time.
20— Deeply afraid of heights.
21— Really bad at all social media. The only social media he has is an instagram where he posts pics of his hiking finds. Its usually captioned with nothing or ': )'.
22— Along the same lines, he's bad with reading tone over text. This isn't helped by the fact he's also bad with reading tone in person as well.
23— There was a point in time he was in such a state of emotional distress that the only breakfast food he ate was egg/bacon/cheese hotpockets and now he can't eat them ever again because they taste so horrible to him.
24— Learned archery for fun when he was younger and was part of the school archery team. He hasn't done it in a bit, but he's been meaning to pick it back up.
25— His name is important to him. He picked it out, and because of that it feels weird when people he doesn't know well decide to shorten it right off the bat.

PERSONA

short blurb.
Scooter is, first and foremost, an academic. This is less of a choice and more just what has been easiest for him over the years. After growing up in a gifted program and having parents that wanted to see straight As, there was some difficulty escaping that mindset. Besides, it's just difficult for him to function in other settings that aren't academia. He genuinely loves learning and the majors he's in, plus its easier to talk about the things he loves when he's in a course about them. It's a lot weirder to bring up the intricacies of termites not existing anymore at a social function, you know? Or maybe that would be fine, but he has residual emotional trauma from high school that stops him from making any attempts to talk about those sorts of things with other people. He also has a tendency to believe that the only thing he has going for him is his grades, so if he gets any grade under a 95 or, god forbid, something doesn't come to him easily, he's instantly distraught.

So, he's a little distrustful at first, and maybe a little cagey. When surrounded by people, it isn't uncommon to see him with headphones on and his nose in a book, but the headphones may not be actually playing anything and the book may be being totally ignored in favor of either zoning out or overhearing what other people are talking about (not to be creepy, alright? It isn't creepy, he swears). He usually takes whatever people say in the worst way at first and assumes 9/10 they're insulting him or talking about him behind his back, even if they aren't; he's very easily hurt (emotionally, at least) and likes to assume the worst so he doesn't get disapointed. However, when he does get to know people, he can be extremely loyal, sociable, and humorous. Even if someone isn't on good terms with him yet, though, if asked about any of his interests he will light up like a Christmas tree and go off on some tangent. He'll even more delighted if people actually listen.

basic description. Arthur has straight light brown hair with the exception being the front spiking up held together by hairspray and hairgel. He has nice gray eyes and pale skin. He typically wears a leather jacket with a variety of pockets and zippers on the outside. He wears a black tshirt underneath and typically wears comfortable jeans with either sneakers or boots.
build. Arthur is decently athletic. He doesn't have the body of someone who works out massively, but he's also not very flabby either.

1. He was once a boyscout when he was little much to his own embarrassment at the subject. It was his parents idea plus he hated the outfit.

4. hates people trying to control him or make decisions for him. Unless he has a say in what he does he won't do it.

Arthur Young had everything planned out for him since he was little. His parents wanted to mold him to be the heir to their business, and as such they made him do things he particularly didn't want to do. When he didn't perform the way his parents expect, he'd be disciplined to be better. This was his life until the end of highschool, and when he graduated they expected him to join the family business even if he wasn't what they wanted for an heir. Instead Arthur got some scholarships and went off to university to study his childhood obsession. He was always interested in dinosaurs and the sciences behind their revival much to the disappointment of his parents. His parents were outraged at this sudden decision, essentially calling him a fool following a childish dream when he has a family to help out.

His family shunned him and he never looked back at his decision. He was always a black sheep, but he was the only sheep they had at the time. This sudden decision was simply the final strike for them.

All this has molded Arthur into who he is today. Arthur is often thought to be uncaring, hostile, and rebellious at first glance due to his posture, looks, and expression. Talk to Arthur and you'll find that the initial impression is mostly untrue. He is still rebellious and can still come off as uncaring, but he isn't hostile. You can find that he is a good listener and has no issues listening to your various problems. You will find that he has issues with authority, though this is more to do with trying to control him than being against the system. Arthur hates being controlled, and it doesn't matter if it's a friend or a authority figure. He hates having things decided for him without his consent. He doesn't fight the system like most people think mostly because it largely didn't hurt him, and he's kinda tired of everyone assuming he hates "The Man".

Arthur is a complicated young man. He isn't distrustful, but it's does take awhile for him to warm up to you. When you do become friends with him know that his constant smile is your reward.

Sasha has a crooked nose that looks like it was broken once. His right eye is brown, his left blue, like a husky.
build. I know, I know, you hear “gamer” and think of someone wildly out of shape. However, Sasha has always been fairly athletic. He did hockey and ballet as a kid, and still does ballet. He’s deceptively strong, with lithe, flexible muscle. He can probably lift you, even if it’s not for very long.

1. Born in Russia, his mother was a British journalist and moved the family back to England when Sasha was eight after his father’s unexpected death.
2. Despite living in the UK for most of his life he still has a Russian accent.
3. Was considered extremely weird by most of his peers growing up and turned to books and video games for companionship instead.
4. Is the middle child of three. He’s very close with his older brother and younger sister. Less so with his mother—they love each other but have difficulty getting along.
5. Most of his social circle is online, and has been since he was about 14. His closest friends are all people he met playing Team Fortress 2 in secondary school online, and they all still hang out in a private Discord server.
6. He is still mildly confused about his popularity as a streamer but isn’t going to complain about it.
7. Mostly streams CoD, CS:GO, GTA, Team Fortress 2, and Warhammer.
8. Has an account on essentially every social media platform known to man.
9. Prefers tea over coffee.

PERSONA

short blurb. At first meeting, Sasha often comes across as cold: quiet, reserved, and often dry or brusque when he does contribute to the conversation. This is a defense mechanism: all his life he's been the weird kid, too loud at the wrong times, always saying the wrong thing, and he's learned to keep his mouth shut. If you manage to get him to warm up to you, you'll find a completely different person hiding under that indifferent armor. Confident, affable, and with a strange sort of charisma, once he's comfortable with a group of people he usually winds up in its center, to his great surprise.

At this point, the only person who thinks people don't like Sasha is mostly Sasha, but old habits die hard.

Sasha does also have a hell of a temper, but he's long learned to keep it to himself. Most people don't get to see it until he's well past the boiling point.

cami is the one friend who makes sure you and everyone else is having a good time. she doesn't seem it but she is pretty selfless. growing up she was always told she was worthless and was never picked for anything, leading her to have the subconscious feeling of putting others before herself. her parents were always fighting, her early childhood is filled with memories of her father on the couch. when she was 6 her parents got divorced and not soon after got re-married. This not only added step-siblings to cami's life but her parents also had kids with their new spouses. All of these siblings got the golden life. Family vacations, attendance and support in their endeavors, everything. Cami got none of the above.
Leaving for college was a freeing experience for her, but was not the start of her escapism. She started turning to alcohol her junior year of high school. She made a lot of friends on the scene, lot's of them ending up at UCLA. She would visit her friends to party on campus, her senior year she actually met JD (he was a freshman at UCLA at the time). Contrary to party animal's stereotypes, Cami still valued her education and graduated Salutatorian of her high school and got a full ride to UCLA. She continues to party hard but has mastered hangover remedies and can make herself power through so she has near perfect attendance. She has a void she fills with less than ideal remedies. She is loyal to those who earn her trust and despite her insecurities she puts on a very self-assured front.

basic description. Iasis stands at a shorter stature than many. She has sun-kissed tan skin with almond-shaped eyes which are a stunning glacier blue color. Her hair is down to her lower back and is a dark ebony color with an inky blue sheen to it when light hits it. It tends to be worn in a braid but when down it is soft and silky with small waves. She tends to wear leggings or jeans (depending on what she does in the field) with a t-shirt or tank top. The colors she wears tend to be greens and blues with floral-like patterns on occasion. She does wear beaded earrings or feather earrings most of the time. She wears light makeup but it isn't too noticeable. Her parents gave her a necklace which is a tree-of-life with peridot and amazonite gemstones for leaves. Iasis has a tattoo of a hibiscus flower on her left arm which she tends to keep covered. Her ethnicity is Australian and she does have an accent left from her home country. She has hiking boots which she wears when outside and has a pair of sandals and tennis shoes as well. Regarding her makeup, it is mostly nude, orange, and brown with eyeshadow and a hint of eyeliner. She doesn't do more than that. Her jeans tend to be light blue or dark blue and her leggings brown or black.

Iasis is a bit of an enigma to those who haven't gone to school with her. She takes her work seriously and most would call her a workaholic. She doesn't like to waste any time when it comes to science and research. She tends to always have a book (or four) around her at all times. She treats her books and journals like they are precious and she doesn't like anyone else being around her when she's 'in the zone'. She is a loner most of the time, but if you end up talking biology or cheetahs...you've got her attention in a split second. Iasis is sweet-tempered once you get to know her and she will happily show this side of her to those she trusts. She is more on the timid and shy side around large groups. She's strong-willed and incredibly stubborn though. Izzy is loyal and honest to those who have gained her trust. However, she also has a definitive protective streak when it comes to those she cares about (and her books). While quiet most of the time, this girl is never afraid to talk about wildlife and wild cats. Izzy is a free spirit and prefers to travel and venture around, not being tied down by anyone or anything. She is compassionate and kind if you give her a chance to show it. Izzy loves her job and career choice, though she prefers it to not be well-known that she runs ZCC. She is mysterious and despite her curious streak - has a tiny hint of a mischievous side.

Last but not least there is a bit of her history I will give you here.
~ Iasis was born and raised in Australia. Her parents were both veterinarians and the small family lived in the outback. Iasis was the eldest in her family, and was treasured until her little sister was born. Then all attention went to the youngest of the family and left Iasis out. So, the girl found herself trying so hard to please her parents and became the bookworm she is known as today. She took up dance in order to keep herself sane. Eventually, her parents divorced...the reason being the fact her sister had died from a snake bite. Mind you, while most believe Iasis hated her younger sister...that was the opposite truth. She treasured her sister and her sister treasured her. While her mother realized the truth, her father did not, and most nights the yelling and screaming with breaking glass would startle and scare Iasis. When she was 12 years old, her mother left and they moved to South Africa. Specifically Johannesburg. From here, Iasis threw herself into helping her mother until she went to college and eventually her internship in Kenya. Iasis then ended up starting ZCC and successfully raised orphaned cheetah cubs to adulthood and rewilded them. She doesn't talk about her past and only one of her best friends knows about what she went through. She will defend her company and her animals with no hesitation so if anyone makes fun of her she will gladly show you why many call her the 'mom' of ZCC and Cheetahs.
