Fantasy Camelot Divided(war of Druids and Knights)

Daena
Dragons Perch

Daena made her way back inside, knowing her Grandmother was waiting for her. Sitting down on a chaise lounge, she took a goblet of water and remained silent, knowing her Grandmother would want to speak with her. Taking a deep drink, she listened as her grandmother detailed a letter that had come to her father. It was an invite for Daena to travel to Camelot, from the King himself.

Daena looked thoughtful at the invitation as she scanned the letter. Nothing too threatening, just what appeared to be an innocent invitation. Looking to her grandmother with a raised eyebrow, she asked

"This seems rather sudden does it not?, why would the king suddenly invite me to visit the capital"

She looked to her Grandmother, an invite like this usually meant a betrothal. She did not want to second guess anything however, if this was to be done it would be done right.

Her grandmother had started making plans while Daena was daydreaming. A reply letter was being drawn up by her father, Daena would be accepting the invitation and travel to Camelot along with her Grandmother and a personal guard.

King Leon
Smiling at his son's slight cockiness in himself, Leon dismissed Adrian. "Boris, you have my attention." Leon looks around a second and realizes there are too many in the room. "All of you are dismissed until further instruction. Anyone caught eavesdropping is submitting themselves to a public execution, Am I clear?" The servants nod feverishly and the guards all hail a nervous salute and they all exit swiftly. "What do you wish to speak about?" On the way out one servant notifies Leon that Knight Alexander is on his way. "Thank you, now hurry out." He says to the plump female servant.

Boris Anne Godwyn
He waits for the room to clear out. If he were to ask and be declined permission he'd surely make a fool of himself and alert any druid spies to his intentions. As the last servant clears from the chamber, he raises a hand to the king's shoulder and leans in. "My liege, I've spoken with master Dean about what he knows. It seems as though druids don't only hunt for their supplies but they purchase them."
He pauses to look up before returning to his hushed tone. "They purchase their goods from us. Pagans enter and leave the city as they please and sell our goods to the witches of the woods. When I found out my blood boiled in my veins and I came to only one logical conclusion. If we can carefully select who enters the city and who doesn't, then the enemy will stay on the far side of walls."

He looks up and over to the prince. He smiled as he saw the boy. He was harder than his father, and this was a sign of an even stronger kingdom to come. "If you don't trust this duty to the church or myself, might I suggest we instate your son as the head? Your son wouldn't betray your trust. This might be a safer way to test his dedication to the kingdom as well."
Boris was never one to give up power but he knew if he could get in well with the prince, when the king passed his titles and honour would remain to him. A concerning thought coursed through the back of his mind as he thought about the king passing. What if the prince used the inquisition to overthrow the king? He shakes his head and waits for the king to respond. His eyes showing the concern within him.

"Engarde, swine!" With a swift strike Hans lands his wooden blade to the throat of one of his guardsmen. The man stumbles back and rubs his throat, coughing slightly and taking his helmet off. The man throws his helmet to the straw littered court yard and gasps a few times. "You are actually pathetic. I hope you know this."
"Hans! Come quick! They're talking politics!" A boy in a red cap and cream clothes calls out from a lower window of the main building. He waves his hand out the window and like that, Hans was on his way. He dropped his wooden sword and came running. It took him a few minutes to work his way up the stairs but when he caught up with the young servant boy, the two pressed their ears against the walls and tried to listen in on the lady's talking. He didn't really care much but he saw his own childhood in the boy. He wanted to provide a loving environment for the boy that he didn't receive when he was growing up.
What started out as a childish bonding exercise quickly turned to genuine interest as he heard the muffled words of king and capital. He stands to and ushers the boy off. The boy groans and slinks away. Hans waits a moment to make sure the boy was away and knocks on the doors to their chamber. He was often denied entry but it was worth a shot regardless. He places three knocks exactly and awaits for either permission to enter, or a servant to open the door.

Daena Dondarrion
Dragons Perch

Both Daena and her Grandmother looked up at the knocking. Waving a servant out with instructions to pack belongings for them both, she instructed the girl to let in whoever was outside. When she saw the young knight she seemed to nod to herself.

"Boy, go pack your belongings, My granddaughter and I have been invited to the Capital by the king. We will be leaving by the end of the day and you are joining the guard"

Daena raised her eyebrow at her grandmother before nodding to leave, planning to make sure her belongings were packed correctly. Giving Hans a small smile, she looped her arm through his

Hans stands as the door opened. He expects to be turned away but is caught off guard when informed he would need to pack his belongings as he was to accompany them. His eyes light up with excitement and his mouth twists to a serious frown. He tries to appear as though he weren't thrilled at the chance to show himself as being worth the title he's received at the keep. "Right away, lady Dondarrion."

He sways his body to the right as he turns but quickly swings it back to face them. "Does this mean I'll be leading your personal guard?" His head tilts to the side and his eyes narrow. She gives him a look that didn't exactly answer his question but made him reluctant to push it forward again. He looks over to her granddaughter and notes her smile.
He returns the greeting and graciously accepts her arm in his. "It'd be my pleasure, miss Dondarrion." His voice deepens and he straightens his back slightly, sticking out his chest. The two begin their way down the hall when he asks, "So what's your business with the king? You aren't getting married to the prince, are you?" His lips curl from a smile to a grin and he attempts to come across as playful but polite.

Prince Adrian of Camelot
Adrian nodded as his father dismissed him. He gave both him and Boris a polite nod before making his way out of the room. It would be wise if he'd head back to his own quarters first and prepare himself for the upcoming journey. It would be several days on horseback, and that's assuming they won't run into any trouble with heathens, pagans, insubordinate civilians, or any other possible kind of mess they might find themselves in.

After preparing himself properly, Adrian made his way back out of the castle and headed to the stables where he mounted his horse. Then he proceeded to make his way to the city gates where he would wait for Alexander to show up so they could fulfill the task his father had given to them.

Nyara Artemis seemed to let out a happy screech upon being greeted by Natus. This caused Nyara to chuckle lightly. It occured to her it may seem weird to someone who just heard she's incapable of speaking to hear her make a sound. After all, most mute people can't make any sound at all, now can they? Just she's not naturally mute. But Natus didn't know that. Nyara gave Natus a friendly smile and a quick nod of her head. "That's two very different names," she signed. "And I understand. Trusting others is difficult in times like these." Really, as long as she wouldn't be attacked because of weird and wrong assumptions, she'd be fine and forgiving enough. "Speaking of your people, I've looked to find a community like yours for a long time."

Daena Dondarrion

Dock

Giving a small smile as we reached the dock, where a ship was already set to sail, she replied "Honestly? I have no idea. I know the king is busy fighting rebels but I suppose the real question is what does he hope to gain from me being in the Capital"

Daena looked thoughtful as she pondered the question herself. Maybe use Daena as a hostage to ensure her family stays loyal, or even an offer of Marriage. Her Grandmother had taught her enough about the prince regardless, a charmer who was turned by a pretty face. The Capital would be an interesting enough place, with her family keeping her somewhat out of the courtly life Daena would be something new to the nobility that flocked to the capital.

Stepping on board, she looked out to the sea and turned to you with a smile

Hans walks with the lady through the castle, finding odd her silence and lack of packing. The two trail down the flights of stairs and arrive to the exterior of dragon perch. He looks around at the masonry of the keep and finds it far less impressive than he had when he first lived there. These walls were safety but outside of that they were dull. All of them were the same colour, the same shape, the same depth. While a true master piece of craftsmanship the walls were nothing much to look at. Not up close anyways. They continue out down to the docks where a decent sized ship was waiting. He looks over his shoulder confused and tugs her arm gently. She ignores the tugging and continues onward, speaking now that they were at the dock.

He thinks about the question too. He lets go of her arm and remains off the ship, looking up at lady Dondarrion who walked the boarding ramp. "A mystery we'll figure out once we're there, miss Dondarrion." He watches her board the ship and turn to him. He replies quickly, "I suppose we are, but not before I collect my valuables. I'll return shortly, miss Dondarrion." With a hasty bow he turns away from the ship and runs back to the gates. They open but slower than he'd like and he pushes through the half opened gap to speed up the process. He trails a path to the garrison and begins stuffing the things he'd require for their journey inside a small hessian sack.

In the sack he packs his nicest clothes, his jewellery, his dancing shoes, a handful of papers and a long feather. He pats himself down and mumbles curses. He slams drawers open and rummages through them to find a ring of keys. He stuffs them in the sack too before getting up and dashing to the training yard. By this stage he was puffing from exhaustion, something the other guards weren't going to let him off easy for.
"Ya favourite harlot in town, Hans?"
"An old relative?"
"Come now boys, you know he only runs when something's wrong. He must have dropped his favourite frock in the river."
Despite the teasing of the others he scooped up his helmet and slipped it under his arm, pulling the cloth from inside it and fitting it back over his head to keep it securely on. Once done he makes his way out and awkwardly puts the helmet on. Servants were bustling about as he left and the gates were open properly this time for his exit. He wasn't the only one leaving the keep but he made sure to be in front. He reaches the end of the dock and and proceeds up the ramp to board the ship. Both eager and concerned about what might lie ahead.

(thank you)

Natus smiled at her "I think Alaric is considered my middle name" he turned his head to the side slightly "do you practice magic?" he asked still giving her a small smile "or are you of druid decent at least?" he asked her maybe she could practice and join them

Nyara nodded in understanding. That did make more sense rather than someone being referred to by two entirely different names. "My mother was a druid," she gestured, supporting the gestures with the few sounds she could make. "The knights murdered her and slit my tongue for defending her." She returned the small smile out of politeness, but the smile didn't reach her eyes. No reason to genuinely smile when telling someone how a relative got slaughtered and you yourself got mutilated for life. "Me... I'm not all that good. I can share Artemis' sight, using his body to fly and scout. But that's all." In all honestly Nyara had no idea if this was a common skill among druids. She had never heard her mother mention it, anyway.

Natus frowned at the mention of a druid being killed and a child being maimed "that is a rare skill amongst the druids, not many are able to focus their mind into the minds of animals and hold it" he gave her a small shrug " I have access to most magic but that is the one that eludes me is focusing my mind Into an animals. but you know you can focus your mind into other people to communicate." he looked at Nathan for confirmation "it's called telepathy correct" he asked before looking back to the girl " well you are more than welcome to come to our village maybe I can teach you how to unlock more of your druid ancestry" he gave her a small smile being polite

Nyara gave a small smile as she heard the skill she possessed was rare. Wouldn't you know it, she had rare skill! Perhaps that's why she was so terrible at the other kinds of magic? An interesting thought to ponder for sure. Her curiosity was peaked when she heard focussing one's mind into other people for communication was a thing. Wouldn't that be an awful lot more convenient than the endless gesturing! As long as she would only use the skill among other druids, that is. To any knight or people possibly serving the king it would be a dead giveaway she had magical abilities. "I didn't know that was possible," Nyara gestured. Her face lit up as Natus offered she could come to the village an practice magic. Just what she's been looking for, longing for. What potential slumbered in her soul could be unlocked at last! She nodded eagerly. "I would be honored," she gestured.

Natus closed his eyes for a second, when he opened them he had formed a telepathic connection with the girl "this is how druids used to communicate, but now we usually just use common tongue" he spoke his voice echoing through her head " it's actual pretty easy once you get the hang of it" he smiled and gestured for her to follow him still keeping their minds linked "Now the most common form of Magic is elemental. most of not all druids are capable of this. Then after elemental you have ancestral, being able to draw energy from druid ancestors, using their energy to amplfy your own. Then you have celestial, using magic from celestial events and drawing power from the moon, sun, stars and so on." he explained as he turned to walk

Het eyes widened slightly as Nyara could suddenly hear Natus' voice echoing in her mind. "Well, this is convenient," she said back. "Easier than endless gesturing and hoping the people understand what you're trying to communicate." Nyara chuckled lightly, following Natus as he walked on and explained different kinds of magic. "I've heard of that, yes," she said. "My mother taught me about it in the short while she was my mentor." The thought of her mother saddened her. They had only had a few months until she was discovered and killed by the Knights. Nyara waved goodbye at Nathan as he walked off again.

Nathan used some of his renown tracking magic to find them. He hoped the Druid was okay out in this hateful place.

Natus turned his head and smiled at her " don't worry, if your mother was a druid then she lays to rest in the stars with all of the druids and chiefs of old" he figured he should give her a little hope so she wouldn't look so sad "enough practice in ancestral and celestial magic, you could communicate with her spirit, even use her spirit to amplify your power" he spoke in her mind. "this is how most druids share secret information....through a mind link. the stronger the minds the harder it is for anyone to infiltrate their thoughts" he stated ducking a branch as they walked to the village "what type of magic would you like to learn first? Nyara"
marorda marorda

Nyara smiled softly. It was a nice thought her mother was with the stars, watching over her, and the she would still be able to guide her. "It would be nice to learn more of the ancestral magic first. That way I can perhaps have my mother guide me as well. And hopefully it will mean less chances of me setting anything or anyone on fire or something." She chuckled. Her practice with elemental powers had been brief and... mildly disastrous. Like freezing the neighbors crops and setting a small fire to the garden her mother kept. She ducked the branch as well and looked ahead, scouting for traces of the village, and anything that might be lurking nearby, be it animal or spy. Her senses were sharp, carefully scanning the area. Artemis seemed relatively calm, though he did fly off once to snatch a mouse off the ground. Such is nature.

David walks around the castle gates dazed. He loved seeing the Druids and their lovely magic, they were so magnificent, until the new king decided they weren't. David had personally served by Arthur and his knights of the round table, in fact, he had been one. The state of the kingdom now was horrid. The king was set onto idea everyone needs to be a certain religion, the druids refused and were thrown out because of their refusal. He likes the new king, but if it was his choice, he would want Arthur back.

David looks towards the horizon looking at the lovely scenery. This is the best time of my day, he thinks. The array of colors washed across the sky created a beautiful painting of the world. The sun washed over the mountains and valley, illuminating their life for all to see.

Natus grinned "but setting people on fire is fun" he chuckled "i remember when my dad was teaching me to cast rain spells and I practically flooded the village because I had summoned to much rain" he laughed and then looked back at her "did your mother have a family or clan name? most druid families have special skills they pass down through the bloodline. maybe your mother had one of the gifts" he shrugged as he walked into the village "welcome to my home" he said greeting all the little children that had ran up to him begging him to do a magic trick. he grabbed some dirt and threw it in the air "Arlinnon ezīmagon daomikydoso " he mumbled quietly making the dirt turn into water splashing the little children

Leon pondered the idea, mulled it around in his head like he was chewing dried cattle meat. Then, he spoke, "Yes, I should say. The idea of keeping a close watch on the Pagans that enter and leave. However, they bring in good coin. It would stir us up trouble. However, we do need to be more careful. We should begin a full scale inspection of anyone entering and leaving. What say you on this idea? Does it suit the current situation, or am I mistaken?" Leon looks to Boris, then turns to the window. He stares but a moment and begins wondering what else the Pagans are doing from inside the Kingdom.

Cailte had wandered throughout the city aimlessly for good while after his visit to the tavern, and had concluded that he'd have to report the news to Natus. Although he didn't particularly like Natus, the way he lead the other druids at least, he still had to do something to inform them. That being said, he began to trek back in the general direction of the forests, but eventually came upon a familiar sight. "What is Nathan doing in Camelot? Is he insane?" Granted he was already seen as a nut, it was very likely the man truly was insane. Now was not the time though, he had to get his fellow druid out of town before he did, or said, something wrong. Casually walking up to the druid, he turned the man around and wrapped a free arm around his neck, his many bracelets jangling in the motion.

"Hey, Nathan my good friend... what brings you to Camelot? I thought you weren't coming till you taught your son how to hunt!" Improvising, a talent of Cailte's that came in handy in such a situation, even if he was overreacting. Better safer than sorry right? "Anyway, we should talk over this at my place, we can chat over a warm meal. What do ya say?"
What brings you to Camelot?

"Well he got a little booboo on his body and so we decided to call it a day today" Nathan replied, cathing on to the bs story and responding in kind.

He walked with Caite as they had suggested.

"He missed you and so I came looking for YOU" he lied.

"Your place sounds lovely" he said with a smile so warm, it surprised him.

He wasn't used to smiling but apparently this acting brought it out.
