Unpredictable storm

Caina

Name

Caina H Galahad

Age

21

Sex

Male

Personality

Many have speculated what goes on within the mind of this peculiar man.  Some believe that Caina's adult body houses the mind and spirit of a child, others say a demon, few believe there is nothing but the sound of static within his head: they are all right in some regard.  Caina is a variable maelstrom of childish habits, self destructive tendencies and a wildly disagreeable personalty.  The long and short of trying to describe Caina could simply be achieved by calling him, unique.  The archetype of uncivilized and a paragon example of a man who truly could not care less about those who surround him or himself.  His biggest problem is the lack of care or thought that goes into his actions.  He is wildly impulsive and will do very drastic deeds on a whim.  He is illogical in his actions and hard to predict, keeping up an aura of unpredictability with him everywhere he goes.  However near impossible there is a method to his madness.

A trickster and a child, Caina lives to see the face of shock and awe on every person he comes across.  His madness is mostly a show he puts on, that's crossed with his own way of entertaining himself.  When presenting himself to the world Caina's child-like traits usually take dominance.  Most people see only what he wants them to see, the hardly serious child like boy that is truly only one part of the whole.  In truth Caina is not as naive or simple minded as he lets most think.  Caina, while hardly every serious has the capacity to be so, and that's when things get scary.  Those who know him well enough know to never stand in the way of what's his.  He is steadfast once his mind is truly set and becomes nothing less then a force of nature when trying to obtain a goal.  Although Caina makes an uncountable amount of messes he cannot leave a mess he created to someone else to clean.  He is conscious when he makes a mistake and considers it his job to fix, and his alone.

Strengths

Indomitable will, unfathomable tenacity: Caina is uncannily resilient once he has set upon a goal.  Like a charging bull, head strong and foaming from the mouth, Caina will not stop until he achieves what he sets out to do.  He will not falter and will not accept anything short of failure from himself.

Feel no pain, give no ground: Caina is a hard man to faze, physically and mentally.  Physically Caina is very resistant to abuse, able to take beating after beating and still rise to the occasion.  Emotionally he is hard to shake, his mental state, while seeming questionable at times, is very sold.  These two facts make Caina a hard man to break.  Like a cockroach Caina doesn't go down easy and just when one thinks they got him, he returns standing with his cocksure smile.

Weaknesses

No drive, no need, no reason: Caina is a hard man to get going.  He has very few driving forces in his live and could easily just spend every day sleeping and picking his nose.  He has little motivation to sustain himself and is a hard man to actually convince to work.  If Caina doesn't wish to do it, he won't, and Caina doesn't wish to do many things.

No attention, no urgency: Caina has a hard time paying attention to things.  He is apt to lose interest quickly when doing most given tasks and has something of a wandering mind.  It's hard for Caina to just pay attention to one thing, so he lets his mind and attention wander from one thing to the next, unable to really focus on one given thing.  Unless Caina is willing to give his absolute attention, which happens far too scarcely, he will always be thinking about two things at once.  Even in drastic situations that could mean life or death, Caina could have a head in the clouds while fighting and thus be handicapped.

No thought, uncountable consequences: Caina doesn't think about the consequences of his actions and when he acts it's on impulse.  So it's in his nature to make mistakes if not guided by someone else.  With a missing moral compass Caina is capable of doing malicious actions without thinking about it which ends up causing an undesired back lash.

Magic

Illusion magic (peerless): Caina possess exceptional control over illusion based magic.  He is able to fool all five senses of the human: Sight, smell, taste, hearing and to a lesser extent feeling.  Caina is easily able to create fabrications that are indistinguishable from reality and even fool the subconscious.  Because his illusions fool every sense once trapped it can be hard to break free from its influence.

The main weakness of Caina's magic is that nothing he can do with it is truly real.  Any sword he can conjure, any monster he can summon is never truly real nor will it ever be real.  The only risk is being fooled long enough for Caina to take advantage and gain the upper hand.  But someone aware of the fact that his illusions are indeed nothing more then illusions can better prepare.

Avatar of Woe (adept): Caina is able to summon an avatar made up of pure Ethernano to fight by his side.  The avatar can either shadow Caina's movements or move independently, effectively creating another ally to fight on Caina's side.  The avatar is as powerful as Caina wills as Caina can feed his own Ethernano into the avatar, boosting the avatars power all the while.  Caina is able to summon and disperse the avatar as is his will and can even momentarily summon its limbs absent of the rest of its body for brief attacks or a quick block.

The main weaknesses of the avatar is that because it is made up of Ethernano anit-magic or things that consume/destroy Ethernano are especially effective against the avatar.  The second biggest weakness is that the avatar and Caina are linked physically and mentally.  Meaning that damage sustained by the avatar is felt by Caina as well.  Although the damage Caina feels is less so if he was hit directly, it is still damage taken.  Meaning when Avatar of Woe is active Caina can take damage two different ways.  Given the avatar's size the it's not hard to hit and Caina is still susceptible to taking massive damage if it is hit with a strong enough attack.  The final weakness is that the avatar can only be controlled and summoned if Caina is in possession of the cube that summons it.  If the cube is separated from Caina or destroyed entirely the avatar can no longer be summoned.

Shock magic (inept): A magic still entirely new to Caina, as such there is not much he can do with it.  With this magic Caina is able to produce electricity from his body.  The electricity can be directed and it's intensity can be increased or decreased at will.  Caina can also imbue objects with his electricity rendering them untouchable or giving a weapon an electric element to it among other things.

The main weakness of this magic is simply that Caina is little more then a novice with it.  He has little control over the magic forcing him to use more simple spells less the magic blow up in Caina's face.  Currently his skill with the magic is comparable to a well versed C class mage.  The magic is hardly viable in combat by itself.

Backstory

In the early days it was Caina and his mother, alone, walking an endless road.  Caina's mother was a mage that could never sit still, the wandering wizard they called her and for good reasons too.  His mothers habit to never stay in one place didn't change even after Caina was born.  The two never stopped moving, squatting from town to town, always moving for reasons Caina was none too aware of.  Caina grew up and was content with his life for a time, but as he reached an older age he began to ask the questions that needed answers.  Why were they moving, why did she hate staying in one town for too long, where was his father... she never gave a straight answer.  Being young Caina thought nothing of it, moving around so much and seeing so many new sights was even fun for a time.  It was the type of life Caina could get used to.  Moving by day, learning magic by night, going to bed only to wake up and do it all again.  But as Caina grew up, as he began to mature and see everything in new lights, he finally saw his life for what it really was.  They were not travailing or on a quest to see the wonders of the world like he had been told,

They were running.

The hints slowly began to add up.  The caution in his mothers every step, the way she was always anxious when they stopped moving, the un-trusting gaze she gave to every man and woman, save her own kin.  But no hint was bigger then the one he received on the road after eleven long years of running.  The boy and his mother found themselves face to face with a gaggle of rough looking mages.  They demanded for Caina's mother, commanded her to come with them without a fight.  The fear Caina witness within his mother's face is something he would never forget as she told him to run.  He was hesitant, but ran into the woods as his mother's orders, he ran without looking back.  However, no amount of running could save him.  It didn't take long for a member of the band of mages to catch up with him.  The mage dragged Caina, kicking and screaming, back to the path where his mother was no where to be seen.  Unlike Caina she could out run them.

Caina was taken, thrown into a cell and dubbed collateral.

He was not alone in the cell.  Many others were held captive as well, all were dirtied and starved.  It was in here that Caina learned the truth.  He didn't want to believe all the things he heard about his mother, all the horrid stories his captors told him.  An ex-member of the dark guild he was held in, she betrayed them, making off with a great treasure all the while.  They had been hunting her down, but now that they had Caina they didn't have to run around looking for her as much.  They hurt the boy and captured his pained screams, using lacrima to project his screaming in real time wherever they would go.  Surely, if a mother heard her child screaming she would come, so all the guild had to do was wait and make sure his screams was heard.  Caina thought that too, thought that she would hear his screams, come running.  It took a while, but the guild broke that resolve.  Six months of being held in the cell, that's how long it took for Caina's mother to finally hear his call.

It started with an explosion, Caina could hear it from within his cell.  The sounds of screaming and fighting above him, as if the world would collapse on him right then and there.  It seemed to have lasted forever, the fighting.  Above him a war ragged on, but Caina had no idea who was fighting.  In his cold cell he prayed it was his mother, and he prayed that she would win.  The fighting went on for what felt like hours with no signs of stopping, at least until a cold silence fell suddenly.  Caina didn't know what to make of it, the oppressive silence.  Soon, he head noise, the sounds of slow footsteps.  From the shadows came a single figure, and one that Caina had thought he would never see again.  Bloodied and bruised, ragged and worn, before Caina stood his mother.  She could hardly stand and the moment that she opened the cell doors she collapsed, into Cania.  The boy had so much to say, but before he could utter a word his mother handed him a cube and a note and said to him.

"Please... keep the promise I failed to.  I'm so sorry, to push this, on you."

Then she fell cold, her eyes lifeless, her body limp.  The boy was left alone, lost, without a clue and hungry above all else.  He dared not to let go of the cube or the paper his mother had given him.  He held fast to the objects and did the only then he could do, the one thing he was best at.  Caina, ran.  He ran as far as his legs could carry him, he ran for months, and years, never stopping but constantly looking back.  He ran his way into trouble, ran his way out of it too.  Ran his way into becoming a better mage, ran past every guild that wanted him.  He ran as a boy, then as a teenager and after that he ran as a man.  He ran his way into infamy and when his legs needed to rest he would only slow down.  To this day Caina still runs.  Never stopping, but constantly looking back.
