Futuristic Burning Sails [OPEN]

The fight’s over and that marine will not be speaking anymore, thank god, but this fight has left several injuries among the crew that he needs to attend to right away. Fortunately Katja’s recovering just fine, but his scanner is telling him Lauren’s just barely hanging on with all her wounds. He’ll have to attend to her first. His dirtied hand holds her shoulder as he walks up to her.

“Be still.” he commands as he injects her with some painkillers. “Now go.” He says, leading her outside the room and in a safer location so he can get to work.

Vixaya jumped back from the battlesuit and deactivated her claws, turning about in search of the next threat, only to see her teammates cut down the remaining troopers. Frozen for a moment, an awareness crept back into her and she relaxed her stance, surveying the room and taking stock of what happened during the preceding minutes. She knew that she had taken down the mech, but everything else was just a hazy blur. Her neck ached from the injection she had taken moments earlier, but that paled in comparison to the throbbing pain down her arm and side. She could recall a grenade blast, but wasn't sure who had thrown it at her. Shaking her head, she walked over toward the others without limping, as the stimpack had yet to wear off.

"What do now?" she asked, dully, flicking some of the excess blood off her hands.

Valkyrie sighed, looking towards the battlesuit and the corpses of the shock troopers before glancing to Nil's strange ship. "...Patch yourselves up, and check the bodies for anything useful. We'll take the battlesuit with us. Refit it, put it to use." she said, before looking over to Lauren as Typhon helped her out of the room. Lauren seemed to be in good spirits, grinning even as bolts of pain shot through her body from the pellet wounds and bullet holes. She had fun, apparently.

Caiden straightened up, grunting painfully as he glanced down to his wounds. He'd be alright, but it'd take a while to mend all the wounds himself. "Yeah, that battlesuit would probably be useful to your bunch. If you have anyone that can pilot the thing, that is." he stated, looking over to Valkyrie as she holstered her weapon. Nil, meanwhile, was walking over towards his ship. He eyed its smooth black surfaces, as he strolled around it. Making sure there wasn't any tracking devices fitted onto it. Luckily, there wasn't. He then walked up to it, and pressed his hand flat against one of the sides. The ship then stopped spinning, holding completely still. And suddenly, Nil was sucked through the side of the vessel. Passing clean through it as if it was but a simple liquid.

It caught those watching off-guard, Nil suddenly disappearing into the floating object. But Caiden reassured them with his comments afterwards. "He's fine. That's how you enter the thing, apparently. I'd get out of this room quickly, though. A dark matter blast isn't fun to be around." he said, motioning towards Vixaya and the others as he carefully limped towards the exit.

Kalien Station - Station Control Room - Mini-Boss Fight - TURN 1 (ENEMY AMBUSH)
Upyri Federation Office of Naval Intelligence
ONI Infiltration Team B-271 (Agent Mirna, Agent Vorster, Agent Riblin)
(HP = 10 each.)

Special Buffs:
ONI Infiltration Team B-271
Martial Prowess - In close combat, an ONI agent's skills are exceptional. During melee combat, a successful retaliation strike against an enemy does 3 DMG instead of 1.

Special Debuffs:
ONI Infiltration Team B-271
Infiltrators, Not Troopers - ONI Agents aren't the best in open, aggressive combat. An uncloaked ONI Agent suffers a -2 chance to hit, and suffers +2 DMG when hit.

--- --- --- --- --- ---

Mirna = 5. Does 1 DMG to Damien. Damien HP = 9.
Vorster = 8 - 2 (6, Enemy is cloaked.) Does 1 DMG to Nathalie. Nathalie HP = 6. Nathalie's cloak has been disabled!
Riblin = 9. Does 1 DMG to Nathalie. Nathalie HP = 5.

As Damien and Nathalie moved to the terminals and began to investigate the data that each held, the others in the room began to close in. Cloaked, they quietly made their way through the shadows and around the computers and counters in the room until they were in striking distance. And soon enough, they made their moves. Damien was the first to be attacked, a cloaked figure quickly shoving his head into the computer screen hard. Cracking the screen and busting his nose. Afterwards, they slapped their shin into the back of his knee, making it buckle beneath him, before jerking his head backwards. Effectively slamming him onto the metal floor with alarming force.

The other two moved in on Nathalie as the first attacked Damien, quickly rushing her as she turned about. One slapped her weapon away from her, before driving their fist into Nathalie's chest. The impact forced her backwards, tumbling over the computer's side. And midway through her fall, a knee was driven sharply into the side of her head from the third figure. Nathalie hit the floor in an awkward position, but both she and Damien quickly sprang to their feet. Hands raised and ready to brawl with their invisible attackers.

Meanwhile, another figure emerged into the control room. Kalashi, whom had stalked after the pair, moved into the room just in time to see Nathalie take her hits. This just got interesting.

As her cloak cracked, sparked and ultimately faded Nathalie straightened up her combat stance and deployed the concealed blade mounted to her right wrist while grabbing hold of her combat knife- a tanto-styled blade- from her chestrig.
Now armed with two melee weapons she made a quick nod nod towards Damien before leaping forth, advancing on the agents in front of her as she unleashed a flurry of quick slashes.

"Yeah, that battlesuit would probably be useful to your bunch. If you have anyone that can pilot the thing, that is."

Vixaya looked the battlesuit up and down with disdain. "It not useful for him," she remarked. "Is too big for me. I no take," she added, before turning to the dead bodies in search of anything useful, like a medical kit, or an unused grenade. When she was done with her quick scan, she staggered out of the room at Caiden's suggestion and found a wall to lean against at a safe distance. Soon, however, she slid down to the floor, kneeling as the stimpack began to wear off.

While the Reavers plotted, planned, and schemed extensively throughout the mission on taking down this station. Kalashi, sulked about the debriefings in her usual fashion. Yet, once the mission launched and the crew begins their rush through the station. Kalashi simply chooses to lag behind, only taking the occasional wild pot shot before losing the rest of the Reavers she was assigned with. Ditching them within the long hallways to pursue an ulterior goal.

The amount of sensitive Data on this station was surely massive and extensive... Information like that was... Quite valuable to the right buyers. Getting a good collection before the command crews could wipe it soon became the primary goal for the Kanad cyborg.

Thus, Kalashi found herself a small dead-end in one of the winding corridors of the station. She peeked around before jabbing a vital of Tox into her respiratory system. Sending an easing chill down her cybernetic spine. Letting her focus on climbing up to a nearby maintenance shaft entrance located on the ceiling. With a good kick, she was able to quickly bash away the metal grating and make her way down the long, twisting shaft that sprawled throughout the station.

Used to such environments, she was quickly able to find where Damien and Nathalie were going as discussed in the debriefing, the control area of the station. The Data Center.

Kalashi was able to swiftly and quietly follow after them, always keeping just an inch out of sight. A skill perfected after years of tracking marks, both for the Batakya and BCB.

Yet, Kalashi had gotten to the control room too late. Looking from cracks of the vents overlooking the area, both Damien and Nathalie had been taken by surprise by ONI Agents who must have been stalking the area for such an effort by the attacking Reavers.

Nevertheless, as the fighting began to unrivaled within the control room, Kalashi already knew that keeping within the shadows was no longer an option.

She watched the movements of Damien and Nathalie as they were thrown about and from what direction they were attacked. While the built-in optics of Kalashi's gave her improved eyesight. Such cloaks and systems used by ONI were cutting-edge stuff, way above the detection systems installed within Kalashi's visor. Getting a good hit on one was mostly now a matter of guesswork and luck for Her.

Thus, with a deep breath and after a few moments of carefully spit-second guesses, Kanad made her move and sprung out of the darkness. Bursting from the ceiling through one of the overhead vents, hoping to catch one of the attacking ONI Agents off guard and plant her Mono-sharpen talons deep into their body.

Amy recovers her Fragmentation Mines! Amy now has two Fragmentation Mines.
Vixaya checks some of the shock trooper corpses! Chance to Recover Items = 5. Chance Successful! Vixaya recovers an Impact Grenade! Vixaya now has one Impact Grenade.

As the group made their way out of the room, the ship seemed to spin faster after a few moments. It made no noises, but the green sheen across the smooth black sides of the ship started to grow brighter as time passed. Eventually, Nil emerged from the ship, phasing through the side and back into the room. "Its rigged to blow! Don't look at it or you'll go blind!" he said, sprinting across the room towards the open doors. Once he and everyone else was through, the doors were shut. Inside the ship spun faster and faster. Eventually resembling a spinning top. And then suddenly, black arcs of electricity started to erupt from it. Lapping at the ground and the corpses near it.

As the group waited outside, they continued to patch themselves up. Removing shrapnel, pellets, bullets, anything that was hindering them. As before, Caiden helped Vixaya out, pulling the shrapnel out of her side one at a time. He managed to get some spare bandages from Typhon, proceeding to bandage up Vixaya before working on pulling pellets out of himself and bandaging his own wounds.

A few minutes later, there was a strange noise from inside the room, accompanied by a bright flash of white light only visible through the hole Lauren had made before. And then...silence. Some peeked through the hole into the room, while the others opened the door. The ship was gone, and all that remained in its place was a pile of black ash. Strange blackish/purple particles wavered from the remains, dissolving as they floated into the air. Any corpses that had been close to it had been vaporized as well, making their own piles of black ash. The battlesuit was intact, thankfully, as were a few of the shock trooper bodies.

Caiden nodded, glancing to Valkyrie down the wall from him. "That's one part of the mission done." he stated, before looking to the others. "Guess we better check out the rest of the station and mop up any stragglers."

Vorster = 2 - 1 (1, Infiltrators, Not Troopers.) Misses Nathalie. Retaliation Roll = 10. Does 3 + 2 DMG (5, Uncommon Weapon, Infiltrators, Not Troopers) to Vorster. Vorster HP = 2.

Nathalie and Damien sprang into action, attacking the ONI agents they could just barely make out thanks to their active cloaking measures. Putting her new wrist blade to use along with her tanto, she made several vicious slices towards her invisible opponent, eventually catching him with the tanto across the chest. It broke the cloak that he was using, revealing his true appearance and allowing Nathalie a clear target to plunge her wrist blade into. She drove it deep into the man's shoulder, forcing a grunt to be barely audible through the smooth helmet he was wearing. He attempted to retaliate, delivering a series of swings with his fists, which all missed. Then, he attempted to grab her. But again, he missed, and she quickly slashed him across his back with the tanto.

Damien, meanwhile, attempted to engage his foe in hand-to-hand. He swung a few times at his cloaked enemy, eventually slamming his fist into the side of their head and disabling their cloak. It was apparently a woman, wearing an outfit exactly like the one that Nathalie was fighting was. His momentary pause was a mistake, as the woman grabbed him by the arm and slung him over her back and across the room into a computer terminal. He collided with the machine, sending sparks into the air, before hitting the floor. The ONI agent didn't wait for him to get back up, as she rushed over and punted his already hurt knee. Damien yelped in pain, but was focused just enough to grab his small knife on his belt. Drawing it out, he stabbed it deep into the agent's leg. She stumbled backwards, giving out a muffled cry of pain as she grasped at her leg.

The remaining agent moved in, getting ready to attack Nathalie again, but was abruptly stopped by something bursting from the ceiling above him. It was Kalashi, whom had sought out a chance to ambush one of the agents. As she fell upon him, she drove her talons into his chest. He fell backwards, his cloak failing and Kalashi landing atop him as he hit the floor. In an attempt to strike back, he drew a blade from his belt and made several attempts to stab Kalashi in something vital on her metal body. He failed, however, and soon Kalashi grabbed onto his arm and sharply twisted it. There were three audible cracks, from wrist to elbow, and the ONI agent let out a loud groan of pain through his helmet. Kalashi soon climbed off, moving out of the way so she could figure out how to strike next.

Each of them managed to get good looks at their opponents now. These were actual ONI operatives, clad in Infiltration suits with advanced camo and cloaking measures as well as enhanced detection measures thanks to their helmets.

With their opponents now completely visible, Nathalie felt more confident than ever. ONI spooks were good but if the agent she had engaged was anything to go by then it was safe to assume that neither agents had been in an even fight for quite some time.

Kalashi quite literally dropping down from above was a nice surprise- now the odds were completely even.

Readying herself for another tangle with the agent in front of her, Nat changed her combat stance into a tighter, more crouched one. This could imply that she was going to focus on strikes directed at the lower portion of the agent's body but in reality she was just bluffing, hoping that he'd get ahead of himself once again.

Nathalie waited and prepared herself to dodge out the way and deliver several strikes to the operative's back should he lunge forward.

Olivia felt pretty pleased with herself when she took down one of the troopers.

What she felt less pleased about was when a grenade caught her in the shoulder and sent her hurtling towards the opposite wall in an ass-over-end heap, looking like shit. More importantly, the blast also knocked the sense out of her for a couple moments, falling over onto her side and near tripping over herself in an attempt to get herself back up. By the time she'd clambered back onto her feet with a wobble in her step, and a searing pain in her arm-- no, well, her entire right side searing in pain, everyone was picking over the dead. The armor itself was burned, cracked, and scuffed up to hell, but, hey, it did its job of keeping her in one piece. Pity that she'd still be bruising like a motherfucker afterward. Slinging her SMG over her good shoulder, and holding onto the bad one, she looked around the room. Specifically to the weird, prism... thing.

...Uh-huh. She's really not getting paid enough to deal with this shit, even if they are getting millions, or whatever that other bitch told them they were getting.

Olivia was limping in once the, uh, 'ship', was vaporized, waving away any of that weird purple shit in the air as she appraised the riot breaker that had nearly broken them. "...Yeah, I could probably use this thing. Provided we can get it outta here and fixed up." She turned over, painfully grimacing beneath her mask as she did. Ow... Audibly sucking air between her teeth. "Well, this place seems pretty fuckin' derelict of anything that ain't ONI to me. Maybe... best bet's to hit up the security room? Bridge-- whatever the fuck they wanna call it. Check cams'n make sure no one's hiding, and, y'know. If we're lookin' after some kinda ONI spy, they might have something on the guy, right? Any intel's good intel?"

What the fuck is it with these assholes and her arm? The turret in the hangar, the grenade right there, her fucking mech? Is it just her luck or something? Holy FUCKING shit. She's gonna find out whoever the fuck does luck in whatever afterlife there might be and slap the shit outta 'em.

Again, it was Caiden who would tend to Vixaya's wounds. Having removed most of the shrapnel and bandaged up the bleeding wounds, he helped her back to her feet. Vixaya didn't feel so light-headed anymore, and set about ensuring that her weapons were ready for any additional enemies they might encounter. "Ke'pita. Much thank you, Caiden," she said with a slight smile as he set about tending to his own wounds.

Later, after the mysterious ship had been destroyed, Vixaya cautiously followed Olivia back into the room where it had been and observed the poor condition of the battlesuit. Hearing the latter mention an interest in it, the kanad paused and reached into her pack, pulling out a multitool. "If you take, we need to... make good?" she stammered, holding up the tool to clarify that she wanted to do some quick repair work. "Is not good now. You take now... you die... I think. Like him."

It did, admittedly, take Olivia a second to realize what she was being told. Even though she'd already gathered the whole 'she'd get her dick knocked off if she used the thing in her current state' thing. Looking back toward the suit, she shook her head, and ran her hand across the plating that had been blackened and warped by the thermobaric blast. "...Nah. Thing's too scuffed up to be used in any kinda reliable way. Plating'd probably crack and shear if any bullets start rattlin' it. And--" For effect, she raised her foot up to tap the bottom of one of the weapons, hanging limp by the side of the machine. "Looks to me like at least one of the, uh, arm stabilisers got completely thrown out by the blast." Does it count as an arm if the thing's tipped by two scatter cannons? "We're probably better dumping the guy outta this thing, then bringing it back to the hangar." Olivia's head slowly peered around the room, looking for something.

"...You reckon there's a forklift somewhere around here?"

Valk paused next to the battlesuit, eyeing it as Olivia and Vixaya spoke about its condition and how to transport it. "I can get some guys over to move it. Need to pop it open and dump the body out, though. Zadra can look into repairing it and refitting it a bit. Eight shotguns is kinda stupid, honestly." she said, before starting to stroll around the large suit.

As she walked, she spoke again. "Liv, Vix, help me out. Gotta find the emergency release handles on this thing." she said, pausing at its back and beginning to look the machine over a bit more closely. "Should be two red handles about four inches long. Pull 'em at the same time, and our walking casket will pop right open."

"Yakka," Vixaya replied, her expression fading back to detachment as she circled around the battlesuit, eventually finding the handle Valkyrie mentioned. She placed her hand on it, nearly out of her reach, and waited for Olivia to do the same on her side before pulling it.

Kalashi, bounces back from the now decloaked Agent. She glanced over the rest of the room, taking note of her surroundings before refocusing her sight on the Agent standing ahead of her, staring him down closely as he wielded a blade of his own. She readied her metallic claws in response. The dim lighting of the room shining quite notably on the silver-like steel on them.

The lumbering cyborg paced around him, slowly walking to her side as she and the Agent stared each other down, both waiting for either one to make their move.

Kalashi then, without warning, threw herself forward, leaping to the left before suddenly jumping to her right with her right side steel arm fully extended out. She was hoping to catch him off balance with fast and wild movements as she then tried to rake his upper body with her long, sharp claws.

Olivia circled around to the other side of the mech from where Vix was standing, looking for the same kind of lever. "Well, eight shotguns is great whenever you aren't fighting anyone with armor, but-- uh, y'know. Could always swap 'em out for MGs." She was so absent-mindedly talking as she wrapped her hand around the lever, thinking it'd just pull down easy. Then it didn't, after a couple cursory pulls. "...Mother fuck--" It's at that point she planted a boot on the achilles tendon, putting her whole body into yanking the lever back.

Soon the two groups engaged one another again, both determined to put the other down for the count. Nathalie moved to engage her target, using a more crouched and tight stance. Attempting to bluff, and force the ONI operative to jump the gun. In reality, he bluffed himself. He went to strike at her with a sharp punch, forcing her into a dodge and attempt to strike at him with her blade as he moved. However, he stopped himself and snapped quickly into a roundhouse kick. The agent's boot connected with the side of her jaw, sending her into a spin towards the floor. As she landed on her chest, he darted over and planted a hard stomp to the center of her back as a punctuation. She let out a groan, before quickly acting in retaliation.

She grabbed onto his other leg, jerking it out from beneath him and sending him onto the floor on his back. As soon as he landed, she scrambled on top of him, driving her tanto into his stomach. As he groaned in pain, clutching the blade, she finally got to were she could perform the execution. Driving her wristblade through the smooth face of his helmet. Right into his head. He went limp almost instantly. That was one agent down.

Meanwhile, Kalashi moved in quickly to engage her own target. Her rapid movements allowed her to get in close and carve a gash across the man's torso with her talons, but the retaliation and follow up would prove quite brutal. He would scoop her up from behind without warning with one arm, oddly german suplexing her into a nearby computer console. Her head and upper back smashed into the terminal quite painfully, and soon he drove his knife deep between the gaps in her robotic plating. Hitting wires and soft materials.

Finally, the female agent and Damien clashed again. As he rushed in, he caught her off guard with a feigned punch to the head, which she reflexively went to dodge and opened herself up for a rapid series of body shots. To stop his punches, she forced him off by targeting his knee yet again with a well placed straight kick. His knee snapped out from under him, and she drove her own fist straight up into his chin as he fell forwards. He could feel his jaw crack from the impact, and he soon hit the floor with a thud.

In an attempt to finish him off, she tried to curb stomp him as he lay on the floor. But a quick roll out of the way allowed Damien to avoid the blow. He sprang up quickly, and drove his shoulder into her stomach. Slamming her into a nearby wall before driving his fist squarely into her face. Cracking her helmet's visor.

As both pulled the red handles in unison, the suit made some audible noises as well as a hiss as the armored paneling on the front separated and opened up. And out crumpled the bloody form of the Upyri Marine whom had been piloting it. Several gashes marking his torso and face, caused by Vixaya's sharp talons. "Nice mess." said Valkyrie, walking around and examining the suit from the front again. The seat and inside of the suit was covered in blood and scorch marks, and it seemed some of the screens on the inside of the plating had been damaged or destroyed entirely. It'd be near impossible to pilot it at the moment.

Meanwhile, Nil was off by himself, apparently speaking to his sister on his holoband. Caiden, meanwhile, was finishing up what medical treatment he was doing to himself. "Fuckin twenty seven pieces of shrapnel, and three bullets." he said, with a bit of a laugh. "Might be a record on shrapnel. Nowhere close with bullets. I think I have some fragments left to dig out, though."

Lauren chuckled, as she entered the room. Her wounds had been mended by Typhon, and now she was wrapped in several places with gauze. "Never fought a Riot suit. That was fun." she said. Eventually, she moved over to the suit and looked inside as Valkyrie stepped off to begin radioing the Assault team and the Mordred. And soon, the assault team arrived. A few of them, anyway.

"Well shit, you guys fucked 'em up good." said one of the heavier looking pirates, tilting his head as he looked between the shock trooper corpses and the battlesuit.

Olivia had to get a damn hard pull off-- one that, ultimately, ended up in her stumbling backward, and ending up back on her ass, again. With a certain red, pockmarked handle in her hand. She lifted it up, arm outstretched as she inspected the snapped piece of metal in her hand. She's just... gonna... leave that hanging out of her pocket. They'll probably need it later.

She circled around to the front of the machine, giving the body only a cursory glance, and an 'ew', as she booted it over towards the rest of the corpses that had piled up. Nope, what she was really interested in was how the thing was looking on the inside. Which is to say, not pretty at all. "Fuck me, yeah. I don't think I'd've been able to drive this thing even if I wanted to. Viewscreens're busted to hell. And, y'know, not to be a prissy bitch or anything, but I don't wanna sit soaking in some other asshole's blood, so, even if it wasn't burned to shit, that probably needs reupholstered."

The pilot's head looked over-- or, up, rather, at Lauren, before she went back to inspecting all the damages that'd have to be fixed. "Yeah, dunno if I'd call getting my ass pelted with, fuckin', flak and grenades fun, but this thing looks like it'd be a riot to stomp around in. Only problem's actually getting it back to the ship. Beneath the mask, a look of consternation formed, as she ran her hands over a button panel, some of which had fallen out and onto the ground. ...Riiiight. This thing's an Upyri mech. Which means the stickers're... Upyrian. And if the stickers're like that, then... "...Fuckin'. God dammit, I'm gonna have to install a fuckin' translator pack in this thing, aren't I?"

Touching her now sore jaw, Nathalie refocused and pulled out her blade out of the agent before her. She rushed over to Damien to aid him, taking advantage of the fact that he had just more or less pinned his own adversary against a wall. As she approached she readied her wristblade and aimed directly for the crack in the operative's visor, hoping to finish her off with a singular precision strike.

Kalashi lets out a series of loud, painful coughs as her right claw grabs her chest, gripping it tightly as her breathing slowly returned to slow, heavy breathing. The agent's attack had ratted some major part of her synthetic respiratory system after being slammed into the console. Yet, Kalashi, through great effort, was able to get herself back to her senses.

She looked over towards the agent, staring him down through her cracked lenses, blood dripping down her artificial eyes.

"Akha kisk!" Kalashi screamed, throwing herself towards them in an all-out attack. Her steely claws aiming for their throat. Hopping to catch the bastard by the jugular and rip the damn thing in half.

As Nathalie moved in for the kill, the ONI operative seemed to notice and quickly counter as best she could in her pinned state. When Nathalie came close and went to stab, the female agent moved her head to the side to avoid it, before shoving the former SSOID agent away with her boot. She shoved Damien off next, before running to deliver a bicycle kick to Nathalie, which also missed. Just barely. As soon as the agent landed, however, Damien's boot collided with the back of the agent's knee. It buckled, forcing the ONI agent to drop to one knee in pain, and an opening was given. One which Damien took quickly. He grabbed the agent's chin, and top of her head, and gave it as quick and hard of a twist as he could muster. And the agent's neck snapped with a loud crack. She went limp, dropping to the floor with a thud. Two agents down.

Kalashi, determined to put down the last of the agents in an all-out attack, rushed her foe one last time. His attempts to defend himself proved ineffective, throwing his knife at her and watching it bounce off the metal plating on her head. She soon pounced on him, forcing both to fall to the floor. And as he tried to hold her off with his one good arm, his hand clamped down over where her mouth would be and trying to force her off, she drove her claws into his neck. He gagged and gurgled, as blood started to spill from the wound, before finally Kalashi ripped his throat out. As she climbed off, he flailed about a bit, his hand clutching his throat as he began to bleed out and drown in his own blood. Eventually, he grew still. Lifeless.

"...You two alright?" asked Damien, catching his breath as he glanced between Nathalie and Kalashi. He grabbed at his knee a few times in pain, as it had been the one Anora shattered before. Why the hell did everyone keep targeting his knees? A better question, though, was why were three ONI Infiltrators here? Were they here to oversee the shipment of Nil's ship? To sneak aboard whatever ship was sent to destroy it from Nonara's bunch? Or something else?

Damien then looked around the room. Most of the proper data terminals here had been damaged in the fighting. They'd have to head over to the data center of the station if they wanted to gain any intel. "...Let's check the bodies for anything useful or suspicious, then head over to the data center."

"...Fuckin'. God dammit, I'm gonna have to install a fuckin' translator pack in this thing, aren't I?"

"Zadra will do it. Don't worry." said Lauren. "She did the same for me whenever we brought back some other Upyri tech." Lauren then glanced back to see that some of the Assault team had arrived.

"Well shit, you guys fucked 'em up good."

"Naturally." she said, with a grin. "Who all got hit?"

The pirate let his hand rest on an ammo box on his hip. The name 'Sabino' was scribbled onto his helmet in marker. "Zoomer, Patches, Emile, Shifty, Lutz, Stijn, and Kobus. That battlesuit fuckin' splattered Zoomer, Lutz, and Kobus all over the place. Rest were gunned down by the shock troopers." Sabino replied. "Snaggletooth is still upstairs. He's making sure the bodies are taken care of. What's left of them anyway."

Lauren frowned a bit, glancing to the suit. "Well fuck. Shifty was fun to fuck with." she muttered. Eventually, Valk moved back over to where they were. "...Just got word that Damien, Nathalie, and Kalashi ran into some ONI agents upstairs on the command deck's control room. Three of them. Infiltrators." she stated, looking between Lauren and the others before looking over to where Caiden was.

Caiden glanced up. "Probably here to make sure the ship was shipped off. That and kill whoever tried to prevent it...or gain intel on them." he responded, as he wrapped the last of his wounds up. He then looked over at Nil, whom was approaching them now. Having finished speaking to his sister. "Well, we should finish up and get out of here. Scout out the rest of the station, kill anyone left alive. Eve can wipe the security feeds, I'm guessing, to cover our tracks." said Caiden afterwards.

Nil spoke as soon as he arrived. "My sister will be meeting us in person when we finish!~" he said cheerfully. "She wishes to meet on Shadespear Terminal. The same bar as before. There, she will give you the information she has on Dazik, as well as the rest of your payment! She also wishes to inspect Katja's markings herself, so that she can figure out how to repair the damage done to them by cryostasis."

Oh, right. Zadra. She like. Could do that, too. That's about the only thought going through Olivia's head before it's revealed that once they're done here, it's a road trip back to Shadespear... the place they just got-- "Is she fucking-- you know what, sure, woo, yeah. Can't wait to get shot at by the same assholes in the same place we just got shot at." Again, Olivia doesn't know why they can't just do this kind of shit digitally.

She needs to calm herself down. Leaning against the open cockpit of the battlesuit, she tilted her head towards Lauren. "What kinda' tech're you bringing back to the ship, anyway? Guns don't need translating, not since I last checked, and you're the kinda' girl that seems. Uh." ...What's the nicest way that she can put 'You strike me as the kind of woman whose hobbies are drinking, fighting, and fucking, in that order.'? "...Analog."

With the ship destroyed and what appeared to be the last of the ONI operatives wiped out from the station, Vance felt a great relief to him that everyone they had killed thus far were people actually involved in this dealing and not people who happened to be either at the wrong place at the wrong time or simply uninvolved altogether. Regardless, he still felt rather uneasy still working with someone like Nil. Not only were they somewhat of a horrendous... monster like from a horror movie but their 'sister' had also displayed such wanton disregard for people's lives. Hopefully after this it would be the last time that he had to deal with these sorts of people.

As people tended to their wounds and whatnot as well as scavenged the dead corpses for stuff, Vance simply sat atop a crate and twiddled his thumbs, or rather tried to as he continued to regain feeling and motor function in the arm he had so unceremoniously had shot off by a railgun. He also couldn't help but be concerned that Nathalie wasn't back yet. He knew she could handle herself and was with others deeper in the station, but he still worried for a friend in such a situation. In the meantime, he kept to himself as he waited anxiously for Nat to come back as well as to leave the station.

"Nice mess." said Valkyrie, walking around and examining the suit from the front again. The seat and inside of the suit was covered in blood and scorch marks, and it seemed some of the screens on the inside of the plating had been damaged or destroyed entirely.
Vixaya took a single glance at her handiwork before adopting a dour expression and shuffling away without a word. She eventually found herself standing next to Vance and the crate he was sitting on, as he seemed less likely to condemn or condone what had just gone on than most of her other comrades. She took a fireball out from her jacket and popped it into her mouth, trying to ignore the faint taste of blood which had transferred from her claws onto the candy-like item as well as her lips. As a haze of cloying red vapor rose from the gaps in her teeth and filled the air with the scent of cherries, she closed her eyes and focused on her breathing, taking in the calm.

After a while, she blew a large cloud with a sigh and spoke without looking at Vance.

"...Do you like cartoons?"

When Vixaya had approached next to his crate, Vance had spared a glance towards the Kanad and gave her a nod of acknowledgement. He noticed she was taking another fireball, similar if not exactly the same as the one she had taken earlier during the conversations in the med-bay, and wanted to comment on it but his move was cut short by her remarkable question:

"...Do you like cartoons?"

Vance was quiet for a moment, looking at the Kanad in both confusion and disbelief as he processed the question. He had just witnessed extraordinary acts of violence being done by her and now was asking what was essentially something a child might ask to someone else. Filled with an innocence and curiosity that, in his eyes, had been robbed from her in her years as a child soldier. "Cartoons? Well, yeah. Yeah!" Vance replied ecstatically, eager to see where this conversation might go as he turned his whole body atop the crate to face the kanad.

"There were cartoons that all the kids would tune into on Saturdays, but the one I remember the best was when I went to a movie theater the first time and the words were emblazoned on the screen right before my eyes." he said, lifting his hand and moving them as if he was running them over a large surface in mid-air. "Superman." he then said, giving off an aura of mystique and reverence in his reveal of the title.

Seeing Vance react so energetically to her question caught Vixaya off guard. Her ears perked up as he described a human cartoon from his youth. "Sooparman," she repeated quietly with wide eyes, staring off in the direction of Vance's imaginary movie screen. "What it was about?" she asked a moment later.
