We would like to announce our company’s first collaboration group, MXC.
MXC consists of 7 members from various male groups within Vision Management. Their debut will be on the 23rd of August along with the release of their first album MXC: AN ODE TO YOU and their first single and music video, “NIGHT”.
It is expected for MXC to have a world tour in late September, starting in America.
We ask for your good spirits and encouragement as we work together to debut MXC! Please show your favourite idols your love through your support and cheering!

We all have our dirty laundry.
Hidden shadows and secrets, things tucked away under our beds, leaving us fearful for the day they see the light of day. Sometimes, it’s okay to keep a secret. It’s okay to leave people guessing and wondering. But when you live in the spotlight, constantly being harassed by fans and reporters, far too often you crumble. You leave doors open, or you drop something. They come in like vultures and tear apart not only you but the reputation you spent so long trying to perfect.
It’s okay to have secrets.
If you’re not working within the entertainment business, that is.
MXC, a new collaborative all-boy Korean band, are set to debut with an international tour just at their fingertips. Together with their team, the men are determined for a successful debut so they break out into mainstream music and be considered as actual musicians. Their company, Vision Management, have put blood, sweat, tears and a large sum of finances to ensure a profitable single and album release. They even hand-picked a team to ensure their journey to success and prosperity!
What the company doesn’t know are the dark secrets lurking in the background.
Ones that can make or break this debut.
Ones that can make or break their company.
An idol too scared to move on to his following stages of life in the military. A leader who has a wandering eye for their manager. A manager who dwells on being unfaithful just to feel wanted for a few moments. An assistant whose teenage years were filled with rebellion and running away from law enforcement. A maknae who lost his youth forced to step up in a parental role while his lover ran into the night. The dancer who shows the world a clean mask but struggles with intrusive thoughts that make him question who he is precisely. The newbie who has made it her mission to get close to the maknae, no matter what. And finally, the stylist, who would have an absolute field day spreading all these secrets to the media for money as they have done for many years.
Fame and fortune come with their trials and challenges. For these eight souls are soon to discover how powerful the spot light is; for brighter the light, the darker the shadows.

the hyung
The Hyung is a veteran of the K-Pop industry, starting his life in the spotlight at a tender young age. Acting, dancing, brand deals, commercials, reality shows, guest appearances; anything an uprising idol can do, he’s done it. For the past ten years, he’s been surfing on the success of his band and has no plans on stopping. His band members, however, have been falling one by one into the hands of mandatory military service. Time is ticking away, and as of next year, he will have to enrol for his military service or face time behind bars. The Hyung, petrified of the thought of his fame and glory coming to an end or rest during his service time, is searching and scanning for anything that could help excuse himself from his military service.

With fire in the pit of his belly and an ambitious lust for bringing his team to victory, The Leader is the head of MXS. He is the glue that holds the band together, leading them to success at every pit stop of their journey. The Leader feels incredibly blessed to not only join this team but be their leader. Willing to take hits for his team, The Leader is quick to bite back and stand up for what is right for his boys. This, unfortunately, has resulted in butting heads with the Manager. As tensions grow between the pair, an attraction continues to grow. However, everything needs to remain strictly business, right?

At the age of twenty-one, the Maknae is the youngest of the group with the least amount of experience. Coming from a relatively new group formed from a reality competition hosted by the company, he has often been described by fans as a ‘Kpop Ace’; a singer, rapper, producer, dancer, and songwriter. Often seen in company youtube videos with his phone in his face or falling asleep in various locations, the Maknae is a quiet soul who keeps to himself and refuses to open up to even those close to him. Because, deep down, he’s fearful that one day he’ll let something slip, and his biggest family secret will be exposed and broadcast to the nation.

Years of training enlaced with blood, sweat and tears has landed him the lead dancer for this new group. Constantly fighting for the approval of the management team and his other group members, he has felt like he’s never been able to be as good as the lead dancer in his original group. But now it’s his time to shine. All eyes will be on him as he takes centre stage for his dance solos, and if he wants to keep it that way, he needs to stay out of controversy. Of course, there is nothing controversial about the Lead Dancer! He has a clean image with no tarnishes or stains. But perhaps he’s just gotten so good at keeping a low profile while exploring his sexuality at different bars in the dead of night. Years of questioning and pushing intrusive thoughts have made him tired; all he wants to do is show the world who he is.

The Manager is the best of the best. Appointed as the manager for MXS, she’s driven to bring the band into great success like any other band she had the pleasure of managing. She’s the CEO’s right-hand man and has been entrusted with this new experimental group, a position that many fought over. Incredible work ethic with the statistics to prove it, The Leader might be the glue for the band, but the Manager is holding this company together. Despite all of her success, she can’t help but feel empty on the inside when she comes home at the end of a long day. Barely greeted by a husband who won’t touch her anymore and children who are more intrigued by their digital devices, the Manager longs and craves the love she deserves.

Fight or flight is all the Assistant has ever known. Growing up in the slums of the outskirts of Seoul, she has learnt from a young age that the only person in life she can trust is herself. Into her teenage years, she began to become associated with some bad apples. She was the class bully that everyone feared. She drank, smoked, stole, and got away with it all. Once she finished high school, she came to the sudden realisation that fighting her way through life wouldn’t get her anywhere. The Assistant scored a job at the company just over a year ago and has been upgraded to a senior assistant during her time. But there is always the constant fear in the back of her mind that someone, somewhere, will reveal all the horrible things she did as a teenager. And that her career will come crashing down along with it.

No one is quite sure how the Newbie managed to get an assistant position for this world tour, especially considering it’s her first job ever. With the band touring worldwide, many hands are needed to make light work. And when presented with the opportunity to join the team to get close to her favourite idol, how could she refuse? Bribing her way through the application process and sprinkling in some blackmailing here and there, nothing was going to stop her from getting close to The Maknae. She has spent years watching him afar, generating an income from developing her fan site, and doing some questionable things just to find out what shampoo he uses or what underwear he wears. She is willing to do anything just to be close to him. Anything.

In the idol industry, fansites take pictures of their favourite idols. They then sell them to the media. The media then uses them to promote articles. And then, the articles bring in the traffic and sales for the group. It’s a system that, yes, is frowned upon as these saesangs are making money. But it’s a system that works. But the real question is how do these saesangs and fansites know exactly where their idol’s locations are? How do they know their numbers, and how do they know where they’re staying while travelling? For Vision Management, it’s The Stylist. If anyone ever found out what they’ve been up to, they would 100% lose their job. But the money is just too good. Not to mention the ongoing blackmail is just so delicious. As the one who got The Newbie the job, they can play the girl like a puppet whenever they please. Doesn’t that just sound like a great time?

This roleplay is an old plot line I had tried to kick off back when I first joined RPN. It was the first group I had ever tried to GM, but have since learnt a lot since then! Joining me in co-gming this roleplay is one of the original writers from the first group ~

To summarise it all up, this roleplay is about a collaborative k-pop group (think SuperM) and their journey together with their team. Each character has their own deep, dark secret that could make or break their reputation, and could potentially bring the company to shambles. Through this roleplay, we'll be looking at some dark themes, including the ins and outs of Korean media and entertainment companies.
guidelines.
one.Follow all RPNation rules. Respect everyone, fade to black for erotic content or extreme gore, and be mature with sensitive matters. This roleplay will explore some dark themes - However, all of these scenes will be kept to a PG rating, or writing in full details on our discord.
two.Because of the themes of this roleplay, writers must be 18+. As much as I hate not being able to open it up to everyone, this roleplay will be exploring dark, adult themes.
three.There are five positions available. It will not be first-come, first-served. Characters will be accepted based on who will make great additions to our plotlines. There are two female roles and three male roles available, and most are character-locked due to the plotline. The stylist is the only character who is not gender-locked to the character, and the lead dancer may explore their gender identity throughout the roleplay.
four.This storyline is based in South Korea; however, this does not mean you are required to create a Korean character. If you are applying for one of the male roles, please have a look at the different nationalities and ethnicities found in K-Pop (as you will see bands with members who are Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Australian etc). However, if you are applying for one of the crew roles, feel free to create the character based on their background of their plotline.
five.Discord is a must for OOC. In the server, we will discuss plot lines, NPC development, and various other roleplay-related agendas. We will also be spending time bonding and getting to know each other a bit more!
sixExpectations of posting? Well, I understand that people can get busy with real life. However, I do ask if you could try posting at least once a week to keep the RP alive and the story moving. There will be no posting order (unless discussed in the server and everyone wishes to proceed with one), and we will break the roleplay up into "chapters". I'd love for the word count to at least hit the 500 word mark. Don't just give us a bone: we want some juicy meat too please. If you're unable to post within the one-week timeframe, all I ask is that you let us know prior so we don't think you've fallen off the edge of the Earth.
seven.Realistic face claims only, as I like to create pretty aesthetics and will need to be able to look up your character's face claim! Also, please ensure you do your research with face claims (for example, don't have a Korean character with a Japanese face claim, with the character having zero blood connections to Japan)
eightCommunication is the key! If you're struggling with something or need to take a break - let me know! Also, I know personalities may clash or you might struggle to plot with someone. That's okay! It's natural! But it gives you no right to be a horrible person to someone. Please communicate with me if you're struggling so we can resolve it!
nine.You are in no way required to use bbcode for any aspects of this roleplay (character sheets/in-character posts etc). If you do use coded sheets or posts, I ask for them to be mobile-friendly. If you have any issues with any codes at all, let me know and I can help to create/fix them!
