The year is 1987- three years following the end of the Great Calamity- a hundred-year war that embroiled the entire world. Millions perished both in and out of combat- empires crumbled- and members of all races suffered greatly. The end of this war led to the Offenhaust Convention- its outcome simple- a ban on any and all magic to prevent its use in combat further. The School of the Arcane Arts- an ancient monastery turned citadel- is burned to the ground. Its inhabitants? Persecuted and arrested. Any resisting the Offenhaust Convention are acted against with extreme prejudice. And yet this did not solve the war's problems. It did not erase the history. It did not erase the deaths. Mass acts of genocide lead to new discrimination- hate crimes hit new spikes- and the nations that survived the onslaught collapse. And now what? And now the world turns to you. Will you try to be its savior? Or will you let it burn?
