  • Shirou's gaze lowered when he thought of Saber back home. The low realization of how talented he was at making people worry, even by accident, even if he worried about them just as much if not more didn't help calm his mind. His lips twisted into a grimace. He looked at the stray Servant before them, asking, "Do you need a contract to survive? And more importantly, what do you intend to do without a Grail War to fight in?"

Caster - New Gotham

Caster looked at the Twintail magus, a little offended at her last question. "I can assure you that I was brought here for a war. As for who it is against, and what this war is about, I don't know. The thought of being brought in without a war to fight is preposterous. As for a contract, I don't sense my master, so it seems I will need one."

He looked at the red head. "You don't seem to be someone I can make a contract with though. It isn't because I have anything against someone who looks like a buddy of mine the last time I was summoned, but because I feel as if I make a contract with you," Caster looked at Rin. "She might beat the living crap out of you, and your servant, wherever she may be, may get jealous." Caster then asked Rin, "If it is alright with you, I'll make a contract with you."

The three men careened around the curve along for gothams Coastal roads. The three of them were seemingly panicked and looking around, the driver shouted "What the hell was that? Is it still following us? Is it the Bat?" the man in the passenger seat had his eyes turned behind them, the man in the passenger seat was turned fully around uzi clasped tightly in his hands as his eyes scanned the horizon behind him. Mean while the drived was hyper focused on the old arkham island. The delapidated asylum was rebuilt on the other side of the city, but getting demolition gear to the island itself was a bit difficult, plus many gothamites regarded it as a historical building so suppprt for its demolition was few and far between.

The idea to go and explore the asylum in the hopes of turing it into their gangs hideout was well received at first. Now you wouldnt get any of these men within 100 yards of the place. "Naw man, i seen da bat before, dat aint him, dats a f**kin monster man, it got Don damnit." responded the man in the back seat. The third man in the passenger seat was about to say something but was cut off by a painfully loud screeching sound, it caused him to cover his ears in pain which did nothing to alleviate the problem. It wasnt coming from sound, rather it was being broadcast to their minds. That was when they saw it hovering in the road, a Glowing blue light emanating from its eyes, armor glistening in the headlights, tail flicking back and forth.

the driver stomped his foot and put the gas pedal to the metal of the bottom of his car. The car surged forward but the thing just swiped its hand left and the car jolted in the same direction slamming hard into the natural rock wall of the curve. The creature scanned their minds seeking their reasoning for coming into his new hom and upon finding it he was noticably irritated. These fools intended to lay spoil to their fellow man, and use his home as their base of operations "Filthy minded Apes." it said in an echoing thought wave that would be audible to the three in the car and any within a hundred feet of it. Without even pointing at the car he lifted it with telekinesis mich to the protests of the men inside. The man in the backseat was trying to fiddle with the door to get it open but it wouldnt budge. "Allow me to wash away those grimey thoughts." he said in the same manner as he willed the vehichle to launch like a cannonball off towards the sea. It wouldnt come to a stop for at least a few miles, and when it did it would land in the deep ocean where the men would have minimal chance of survival.

Spidey.jpgSpider-Man swung high above the streets as he made his routine patrol through the neighborhood. Spidey kept his mind on the task at hand, to stop V.I.L.E. and the Thieves Guild and find the one woman who could help him stop this crime wave, the Black Cat.

Our Friendly Neighborhood Web-Slinger's patrol was soon interrupted by a call from one of his close associates.

Peter sighed as his Mask's communicator tapped into his phone to answer the call for him.

"Peter! Where are you? You know how I feel about tardiness!" a well-mannered young woman said.

Lorina Dodson, one of the richest people I know, MJ's friend over at the Bugle and eternal thorn on my butt...

"Uh sorry, Lori... but something came up..." Peter tried to explain his absence, "It's really urgent."

"You do know that it's MJ's Birthday , right?" Lorina chastised Peter over his communicator, "I planned this whole thing for her and her Boyfriend's not going to show up! The very same Boyfriend who was missing for months and he can't find the time to be there for his Girlfriend's birthday? I honestly don't know what she sees in you."

Peter sighed, though he felt it was his duty to protect the city and end the rampant robberies, he had neglected his duties as Peter Parker.

And yet she's less of a pain when she was hopping around Manhattan robbing convenience stores and used book stores in a bunny suit.

"I'm really sorry but I just got a job offer from Future Foundation," Peter told a half-truth in hopes it would get the former costumed criminal to relent, "MJ knows how much I respect Dr. Richards and his work."

Lorina was silent as she slowly processed what Peter told her, "Woah, wait! Future Foundation?! Does MJ know about this?"

"No, I was as surprised as you when I found out earlier," Peter elaborated further, "I was hoping to reschedule it tomorrow but they told me they need me ASAP."

"Okay," Lorina accepted Peter's excuse, "I think I get it now... Just be here when you're done, Pete... MJ really misses you."

"I know, Lori," Peter landed on top of a nearby rooftop to catch his breath, "But I promise I'll be there before the party's over."

    "Whoa, that was fast."

The quick response took Marika a little off, but she quickly regained her composure. She was still a bit surprised that they were only connected through radio instead of hologram.

"Coorie-san, can you show me the holographic projection of the vessel's bridge?"

"Nah, no good. Looks like they're using a completely different technology."

    "Is that so..."

With one sigh, either of relief or annoyance, Marika returned back to the matter at hand.

"This is Captain Marika Kato of the Bentenmaru. We're merely planned to do our job, but it seemed that we were a bit sidetracked from our intended route. We mean no harm for you either."

Suddenly, Luca interrupted with a rather alarming note.

"I can't see... where we are."

Hearing the concerning warning from the navigator, Marika turned her attention away from the communication.

    "Luca-san?"

"This place isn't mapped in our navigation log."

"Not mapped!?" Replied Marika in shock. "Aren't we supposed to be equipped with complete log for the entire galaxy?"

"To be fair, we haven't explored any other galaxy just yet." Coorie added nonchalantly.

Marika didn't like to implication of that line. While Bentenmaru is completely capable of traveling faster than light via FTL jump, it is still incapable of traveling from one galaxy to another so fast without the need to refuel itself. To think that they're currently in a completely different galaxy from their own is ridiculous.

And yet, all the evidence present so far had proven so.

Taking a deep breath to calm herself down, Marika turned back to the communication.

"Umm... Star-Lord of the Guardians of the Galaxy, was it? We're at lost here, and I'd like to confirm our current location if you don't mind."

"You'd think it'd be that easy," Winter chuckled at the black-suited Spider's suggestion of a divorce, "But honestly, I think I can do more good as a von Doom than as a Schnee."

Two servo-guards arrived on the seen to escort Von Bardas and Grim Reaper away and into an aircraft.

A single Atlesian approached Winter and the group, "My Queen, we're ready to leave on your orders."

Winter nodded to give the silent command to prepare for their departure.

Before she departed with her men, Winter looked over her shoulder and smiled, "Till we meet again... Spider-Man."

With Winter and the Latesian soldiers gone, Star squeeled and teasingly poked at Spider-Man of the year 2099, "You got a crush on her, don't yah?"

... Umm. So this is how the comic book club came to ridicule those costumes Bulletman and Bulletgirl provided, not to mention why superhero costumes look different in live-action.

For starters, the spandex construction of the outfit I have just put on in the powder...bathroom? Well, normally, on a comic, and in an animated show or movie, you can get a nice, stylized look out of it since those drawings, rapidly-sequenced or not, offer more options for deviating from reality, not to mention the overall increased threshold for believability. On the other hand, in a live-action comic book movie, almost all the time do you need to change the costume, or else the outfits of the movie's actors will be laughed at, including those who wear the untranslated costumes themselves. Like, face it, there are only a few exceptions, such as Spiderman and Rorschach's costumes, and that is because Spiderman's costume at least looked okay enough to be worn by Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire the big screen, unmodified, while Rorschach's is literally a trenchcoat, pants, gloves, a hat, and...

...Oh. Did I ramble too much and waste their time? My bad. I get up and walk to the door before opening it so the others can see me in costume. This "Ferro Lad" costume's not particularly giving me any confidence, especially with that "prosthetic" hand being exposed for the naked eye to see. Yet, seeing how little I could do to alleviate that, by way of pockets and, obviously, gloves, I have no choice but to leave my poor unskinned arm up to the Bullets, Dante, and that blonde man to see.

All I ever really cared about was games. In retrospect it was probably a form of depression, real life felt drool, boring and generally dragged on. In many ways I had a traditional Korean upbringing with a traditional Korean looking future. I was going to a mediocre school, getting mediocre grades and seemingly doomed to a mediocre future where I sit in a cubicle and put numbers into a computer and print other numbers out.

That future bored me. I wanted to be a hero, an adventurer and a legend. Why should I be doomed to a cubicle because I was born in a world that found them so desperately needed. There was a million other worlds I could glimpse through games and I longed to be in any of them. I longed to be a game character, to have a blade or a bow in my hands and to fight for something more meaningful than another multi-million dollar companies bottom line. Yet to my knowledge of the world such a thing was impossible.

It happened anyway.

One morning I woke up and I was "The Gamer". I do not know how, I do not know why. My life had a user interface that only I could see. Pop up windows for stats, where I could distribute points. Pop up boxes I could summon to see my inventory, my skills or my status. Even quest would pop up when someone like my mother made a request of me. I had quest, and levels and stats. It was everything I ever wanted and a complete let down at the same time.

I may have become the character I wished but I was still in my own world. My quest were nearly meaningless things.

"Son will you run to the store and get me some milk"
Hey voice pulls my from my thoughts of the past and a window quickly appears in-front of my face.

New Quest! Request from The Gamer's mother.
The Gamer's mom wants some milk for cooking, be quick and get her some from the corner store.
Time Limit: 1 hour
Reward: EXP.+200

I hit yes and start to walk "Yeah mom, I will be right back" I call out to her as I put my jacket on and shut the door behind me.

As I start to walk down the street I open up my stats box and look over my stats. I don't think this quest will be nearly enough to level. Maybe I should get a job for one of those apps that lets you do odd jobs for people. If each of them becomes a quest and I accept the ones that give the most EXP for the time they take maybe I can level a few times quickly.

I look at my luck score and sigh, I know I made the right decision long term because of my data mining but the process still concerns me that it could have been flawed. When I first found out I had stats I decided to data mine, it's what gamers do after all, use their shared experiences to figure out the exact math and rules of the game. Does an increase to fire magic make a flaming sword more effective? Well some nerds like me will go experiment to find out. You have to know the rules to know how to best manipulate them.

What I learned was interesting. I can raise my stats by training. I simply started doing pushups and kept doing them while counting until a box told me my strength had increased to 6. Then I did more pushups while counting it took more than twice as many to get to 7. This meant that it got harder to raise stats the higher they were. Meaning spending my stat points from levels was dangerous. It would make me miss out on training points.

So I experimented with raising all of my stats and for most of them it was fairly obvious, running, studying science or philosophy, meditation. I found ways to raise all of my stats except for luck. I tried dice rolling, card games, gambling. It seems that one could not train to get luckier, which fits real life I suppose. You can become stronger, wiser, or smarter but not luckier. So I've spent all my points in luck, hoping it will make my life easier and is a productive use of my first few levels while I manually train my stats and do a few quest for the EXP.

It was a productive few days, a tutorial almost.

At the story I buy some extra sandwhiches and juice storing them in my inventory. It had started as an experiment to see if things spoiled inside, if time passed for those objects. I was pleased to find out they do not spoil. Since then I had bought several 12 packs of water and dozens of sandwiches and I even spent an after noon making more by hand to store. It just seemed wise that for a game charchter to have a stock pile of food and drink for an emergency. The only other thing in their was my school back pack and a baseball bat, the only weapon I had.

I return to mom with her milk and the quest finishes barely moving my experience bar to my sadness. I spend the rest of the night trying to plan out what else I should experiment with before going to bed.

Waking The Gamer

The Pop up box awakens me but as soon as I see it is gone, only the word Eternia catching my eye in time.I feel dizzy for a brief moment having gone from laying down to standing with no memory between the two is difficult. I look around my surroundings. It looks like I am suddenly somewhere else, dark woods and trees that I do not recognize.

4062676-8345736225-lizar.jpg
The trees are the least intresting thing though, the lizard men, standing around four and half to five feet tall are what really get my attention. The bows they hold and being drawn back and they certainly do not look friendly to me. I push my hands out and reaching into my inventory and pulling out my base ball bat.
These seem like a low level aggressive mob and I don't think trying to run away in the dark in the woods is a good idea.

Ding
My bat rings and vibrates in my hand as an arrow impacts against it. I rush behind the closest tree. My knees and shaking and my hands still vibrate from the force of the arrow, I was lucky not to get hit maybe my stats are not in the worst place. I peek my head out to see the three archers one is about 20 feet away the other two about 40 and circling around.

iu

I charge the closest one, bat held vertically in front of me, I lack armor but it protect most of my head and some of my chest at least. Two arrows fly past me missing by only inches. The third shoot from the closest one impacts into my shoulder and I see my health bar go down nearly a third. Not even a lethal location and yet so much damage. I swing the bat with my other hand and the force of the blow shatters it in his hands and throws the lizard to the ground. I swing the bat like a gold club slamming it into the side of his downed head and get rewarded by another arrow grazing my arm and taking a nice sliver of health. Pop up windows appear blocking my vision as I try run to cover, slamming myself into a tree and throwing myself to the ground behind it while I frantically try to close them.

New Skill!
Blunt Weapon Mastery
A skill that allows the user to freely handle blunt weapons. Blunt Weapon Mastery is obtained after using a blunt weapon to strike an object.

I close the windows quickly and regain my full field of view seeing one of the lizards was already flanking around the protection of my tree. I move around so it covers me again. I catch my breath a little bit and drawing things out is good for me letting my health regeneration slowly tick back a little higher. I stand up fully and peek out from both sides of tree looking for whomever is closest. I yank the arrow out of my arm cursing as I do so.

After a moment I see one and charge. It steps backward and trips, another bit of luck, or just circumstance given it's dark and the woods and we are all panicking. I catch up to it just as it is standing and kick it in the chest so it falls back down and I bring the bat down with both hands, once, twice and then stop with a shout an arrow in my back and my health bar dangerously low.

The last one turns to run as I charge it, but I am faster and after a moment of running I catch up I swing the bat at the back of it's head and it falls. I fall to my knees, this was nothing like the games. It was dark and terrifying it was filled with fear and a primal violence. It was so very very different. I reach around pulling the arrow out of my back and just sit there for several moments taking deep breaths.

I stand and gather my loot, 3 pairs of bracers, one of which I wear, the rest go into my inventory, two bows and 68 arrows. I place most of the arrows into my inventory and one of the bows. I take a few shoots to get comfortable with the bow firing at some trees as I start to walk away from the scene of the fight and walking in the direction they seemed to have been moving. I don't know what is ahead of me, but all I want to do right now is get away from any more of those lizards and practice the bow as I walk, taking pot shots at trees. With any luck I can get an archery skill and fight in a much more safe manner in the future.

Although she was normally one for socialising with the common folk, she much preferred solitude over the daily interrogations she had to go through with her "chaperon".

Celeste set her tote bag on the dresser and sank into the mattress for some much deserved relaxation. She reached for a bit of light reading resting on her nightstand.

The Cards of Mankind was a manga about the never-ending mind-games of two young geniuses vying for the fate of humanity in a series of games. The premise was interesting, so she had been making efforts to catch up with the series lately. She was on volume 3 out of the six currently released and quickly closing the gap. Upon removing her black bookmark, she stepped back into another world...

    . . .

    "Where's Celeste?"

Celeste suddenly felt a sense of dread tingling down her spine, and it wasn't anything happening in the plot. She could have sworn she heard her name being uttered outside...

She sincerely prayed to whatever deity that existed that somebody wasn't coming to open her door and bother her to no end.

Vale City, Valpan

A flash of what could be considered panic slashed through the umbra witch as she realized she wasn’t where she had been the moment previously. Her hands instinctively reached for her guns, but stopped once she realized that she was in a public place. Mentally cursing herself on how she could’ve stopped herself sooner, Jeanne took a deep breath and began analyzing her surroundings for clues on where she had ended up. Vale City....that didn’t ring any bells, and neither did it’s home country, Valpan. Turning her grey eyes to the crowd around her, a quick scan of the crowd proved to her that while people were all around her—quite a few were actually staring at the tall witch dressed in the red biker suit—she was alone. Jeanne’s umbran sister hadn’t ended up here with her, leaving her to her lonesome. However, someone still caught her eye. A woman dressed in crimson red walked out of the train, catching the witch’s eye with her brightly colored attire.

"Don't push it," Miguel said without a hitch to Star and Cynthia, not missing a beat. This is what he got for interacting with the fairer sex, of which he seemed to be practically surrounded by, come to think of it. Despite his swift response, the Spider-Man of the future had to admit, he was a little glad that he had his mask on right now to hide his face.

Still, he had to say. What a woman that ice queen was. He felt a slight twinge somewhere inside at the sight of her almost wry smile, but he figured it was more that it was a bit of a surprise to see someone as... reserved as her be able to smile at all.

But indeed, until they met again, whenever that would be. After all, the multiverse was a big place.

Letting out a lightly exasperated sigh, the man put his hands on his hips and looked up at the sky, as though finally letting the hectic chain of events sink in. Displacement in the multiverse, a nefarious plot by Doctor Doom, a femme fatale in the works, reuniting with the other Spiders, and being teased by two girls over love.

Aboard some sort of spacecraft from a galaxy far, far away. 'Penny' appears to be standing alongside a couple, if not, thousands of skeletal looking robots that bear a slight sense of familiarity to her for some reason. She raised her hand forward, somehow looking completely different than before--all mechanical like armor, chrome in color.

She then began to hear voices, but they are muffled and distorted that she cannot understand a single thing, but it's clear that somehow, they're alarmed about something...Someone.

"I am." The wall in front of her bursts open as a man's voice spoke in a deep and mechanical voice, emanating some menacing aura as she sees what lies behind the wall--Several people that peculiarly dressed, with a vast majority having a strange blue skin color in addition to a black dragon accompanying them.

"P̷̨҉̡͠ḩ́͢͟͡a̴̸͏̧ņ̛̛ļ̧̛͟҉ą̢n͞x̵̨̨̛͡" Muffled and distorted, a woman clad in red with a yellow stribe going across her right eye spoke, drawing a golden sword of some sort.

"B̶̸́͠͠ư̶͘͡͏t̷.̶̷̨́͡.̸.̴̨̀̀That's Ultron!" The Dragon spoke, despite being distorted and muffled, Penny could understand the fear in her voice, and the name she spoke. "That's Ultron! How?!"

"I am P̷̨҉̡͠ḩ́͢͟͡a̴̸͏̧ņ̛̛ļ̧̛͟҉ą̢n͞x̵̨̨̛͡ and P̷̨҉̡͠ḩ́͢͟͡a̴̸͏̧ņ̛̛ļ̧̛͟҉ą̢n͞x̵̨̨̛͡ is me." The voice spoke once more, this time, she was approaching the Dragon with the intent to kill.

"Ṕ̴̀͘͢h̸̡́͟͝y̶͜ĺ̵̵̨͞ą̵̸̶͢!͘͠ ̵͠G̨͡e̴̶̶̡͠t̛͟ ̧b̛͘͜͡ȩ̕͟͝h̸̨͏i҉̢́͜͜n̛҉̨̡͡d̀͝͞͏ ̶͟͠m̵͘̕͜-̢́͜͞-̴̷͘!͢͞" The Dragon pushed the woman with the sword away from her, and before it could even finish, 'her' fist was already shoved right onto the Dragon's heart, blood spurting all around as her vision suddenly turns black as the memory was seemingly cut short.

    "And you are nothing."

    86b7ee6febfbc62a57991d2247d870d0.png

Penny has been having these bizarre dreams lately. She isn't sure how, but each time she is resting, some memory she didn't know of begins to play in her head--Most of these dreams were about her ruling over some form of robotic army somewhere across the galaxy. Most of what they're saying were distorted that she couldn't understand anything except for what 'she' is saying and the name 'Ultron'...She isn't sure who that is, but it feels quite...Familiar, in a way.

"Are you okay?" Sento approached Penny, who was sitting on the underground laboratory's bed for a while now after being instructed to wait for him to finish something. "You never spaced out like this before."

"I'm fine...I think." Penny answered honestly, rubbing her own arm in concern. "It's been happening every night when I sleep...Like, something else is trying to operate me without me knowing."

"Well...Part of it could be my fault." Sento rubbed his cheek for a bit, "I was kinda digging around your skeleton and doing some upgrades in...Wait, do you mean your OS?" He asked, realizing something. Penny nodded meekly.

"Well that's odd." Sento crossed his arms. "I made sure to your power source was turned off every time you nodded off at the lab...And you say this happen every night?" He asked once more, receiving a nod from Penny once more. "I'll have to look into it tonight..." He said, soon heading for his computer as he hears an alarm blare off from there. Looking at the screen, Sento saw a red dot on a GPS map of the entire city and some CCTV footage of some black creatures rampaging on the streets including around 10 Wolves and 2 Bears.

"What is it, Professor?" Penny stood up and asked, wanting to help out despite her situation.

"Grimm Attack. Area C, around the New York and Vale area." Sento debriefed, "Several lower classes, any local Hero or Huntsman in the area can deal with it, but it looks like most of them are pre-tty busy considering the whole 'Thieves stole my equipment' situation." He said as he tippity tapped away at his keyboard, searching for the nearest Hero and/or Huntsman in the area and alerted their phones with a push of a button. As for how he did it, he tinkered around how Phones and Scrolls send and receive messages much like how his RabbitRabbit Rabbit and TankTank Tank mechs speak by transmitting text messages to nearby phones. He also examined the school's newly improved CCT tower and managed to hook up his PC onto it and created a program to send unanimous messages to any and all kinds of cellular device within the region. "Looks like the perfect time to test out my new creation." He said as he got off of his computer and walked for the metal pod with a microwave on the wall near the door, opening it and taking out a squashed version of the Build Driver, shaped like a small music box, removing the Fullbottle slots and placing them at the back and making them quite small. He also took out a strap of some kind with several flat USB devices inserted onto them; two pairs of red and black ones. "Take these.'

"What's this?" Penny asked, promptly taking the gear from Sento, "Your...Belt?"

"Sort of. It is the Build Driver, but can only utilize RabbitTank and it's Fullfull variants." Sento explained, soon snapping his fingers in a fit of expression. "I call it, The Build Driver Lite. This should allow you to fight just like me, without the risk of having to undergo the Nebula Gas treatment."

"I see...!" Penny said in awe, soon strapping the black holster strap onto her arm and examined it for a bit.

"To activate the Driver, just place two of those FullDrives onto the slots on it's back." Sento explained how it should be used, "Then placed it somewhere on your waist and crank the lever--much like yours truly." Afterwards Penny placed the Build Driver Lite onto her back compartment and turned around, ready to depart.

"Alright...I'm going!" Penny told the Professor, nodding as she soon went up the stairs, rushing into the battle field as quick as she could.

"Stay safe out there!" Sento called out as Penny soon got out of the lab, prompting him to stretch his arms. "Alright...TIme to act like Misora and give that girl some tactical support." He said as he plopped his ass back at the computer and began to type away, in his computer screens displaying the map where the Grimms are attacking, and a Blueprint that appears to be something that the Avengers would be interested in...

Now, Marika is no stranger to weird situations. Nothing much can surprise her anymore, what with her experience with a certain Kanata Mugen. However, the fact that Bentenmaru is currently in a completely different universe of their own is already shocking enough. Rocket's mention of possibility that they might not be able to return didn't help.

"This isn't funny, even as a joke." Marika sighed in displeasure. "What even are the chance?"

Then Marika took another deep breath to calm herself down. Despite the remark from Rocket, the pirate captain didn't believe that they'd be stuck here forever. There is no problem that she cannot resolve as the captain of Bentenmaru, and if she were to make her first mistake, she didn't want it to go like this.

But actually, something else bugged Marika's mind.

"If I may ask, how can you know that we were pulled from a different universe, Mr. Star-Lord?"

That might not be the best question she can compose at the moment, but Marika was merely trying to figure out how the spaceship were pulled into this universe in the first place. She hoped that at least there could be information so that she could figure out how to leave the universe as soon as possible.

Shirou barely registered the slight jab from the Servant, only lowering his head with a suppressed smile. Deep beneath, one could see something nearly resembling cynism, or bitter amusement, but it was distant, distant enough to not matter. "It's true, Tohsaka can get a bit violent sometimes," he said, deciding to play it off in amusement.

Shirou tried to pay no heed to the occasional man who walked by the alleyway, saw the suspicious trio, shrieked, then walked away at twice the speed. It kind of made sense, to be honest. This city didn't just look like, but it felt - had an aura, literally palpable to a magus, even as untalented as Shirou - like a giant blanket of dreariness and darkness hung over it. Not despair, no, as dots of hope could be felt in small quantities, but the aura provided little relief from what seemed like... corruption; like iniquity.

He imagined this city was similar to the stereotypical corrupt American city in the segregation period, with mobsters, spaghetti and meatballs, and all that.

Shirou stood back, as Tohsaka forged her contract. When all was said and done, he asked, "Did you get Command Seals, Tohsaka? There doesn't seem to be a Holy Grail War, but I think that'd confirm that there's a Holy Grail here or at least some kind of connection to it...?"

"<What bizarre clothing,>" Red Wizard said, pointing at a man walking near the unpaved path outside the tavern. For some reason, the strange boy was shooting projectiles at nearby trees. Treants? Surely not. Practice? Most likely.

Red Wizard gave a respectful nod to Goblin Slayer, speaking in the omni-tongue of Midgardian, "<I wish to speak with that boy. His foreign fashion... I can swear I've seen something similar before, but I want to make sure. After I'm done, I'll come back here. Meanwhile, you speak with the tipster. If you need me, just holler.>"

With that, Red Wizard pushed apart the tavern doors. The zombies, like the creatures they were, stood dumbly within the yellow bubble-forcefield that he erected previously. Examining it, its shield was still easily at ninety-five percent strength, but he still boosted it to a hundred just to be safe.

Red Wizard walked up to Han.

His dark hood and arcane robes gave him a wizardly countenance, sure to mystify the Gamer. "<Hey, why are you shooting at trees? More importantly, would you happen to be from another world? You don't really belong here,> said Red Wizard, in a very bizarre tongue. It sounded almost like something between Swedish and Old Norse, with many bastardized words, some of which seemed like a comically twisted version of English - and yet, by some universal paradox, it was understandable to Han's ears - more than that, it felt familiar - as if he had been learning it from the day he spoke his first words.

  • Marie ~ Pierre's Summer Home

"Jellybean!!" Marie was a little too excited for the pre-prom picture. She gave a wild smile and held up two peace signs as a show of her frankly unwarranted enthusiasm. The picture turned out about as well as a bunch of drunken superspies can make it. Marie's uncharacteristic over-excitement elicited a groan from the only sober member remaining- Agent 3. "The prom, remember?" she asked, slinging a tank of ink over her back and ready to walk out the door, "Let's go." "You're driving!" a drunken Pierre cheerfully announced to Agent 3.

    "Wait, what?" she replied.

Before she knew it, Agent 3 was in the driver's seat, about to chauffeur this group of drunken undercover superspies to a highschool prom to find and kill the most fearsome dictator to live (and soon die) twice. Slowly and gingerly, she pulled the car out of the driveway, and took it down the road, at the speed limit. She kept this speed for a short while, until some jackass sped past her.

Slamming her foot to the gas, the car sped along, chasing down the one who so wronged the agent. "Do you even have a license, Agent?" Marie asked, "You know, I-I could just drive. If-if you want." "No to both," was the agent's response, as she flew past several red lights in a row. A flashing red-and-blue light accompanied by a siren appeared behind them, and she added, "But they do!"

"New mission, agent. Lose the police!" Marie pointed to the exit, and the agent twisted the wheel. The tires screeched in protest as the vehicle barely made the turn. Bystanders were shouting at them, and Agent 3 was dangling a very profane finger out the window as she continued along. Only a few police in pursuit made the turn Agent 3 had just made, and they were now gaining on her.

Agent 3 made a soft turn to change lanes, except she was already on the left-most lane, as the car flew off the road, and onto the sandy beaches below. "This thing can off-road, right?" she asks the still-drunk Pierre. (Un)fortunately for Pierre, she doesn't even pay attention to his answer, and slams on the gas again, propelling the car through the sand and away from the cops.

Agent 3 grips the wheel tightly as the car approaches a pier, launching off of its sloped side into the air, and landing on the road again. She quickly turns towards an alley, and watches half a dozen police cars drive past. "We still have to get to prom." The agent slowly pulls out of the alleyway, and only speeds a little bit for the last two miles to the highschool.

"Alright, remember, we need to find Hitler," Marie says, before adding, "No, I'm kidding! Let's have some fun!"

    Agent 3 groans again.

Caster - New Gotham

Caster knelt down, right hand up against his chest, clenched as he had his eyes closed.

"I, Osu No Mikoto, The servant known as Caster, Accept the contract. As long as I stand, I will fight to the death to keep you safe." He then looked up, eyes opened. "I will not disappoint you, Rin Tohsaka."

  • "They gave you the Ferro Lad costume because you have prosthetic arms? That's... weirdly rude." Bulletgirl seemed concerned about the choice in costume. "I thought the Legion were a bunch of nice young men and women who helped old ladies across the future streets, right?"

Her hubby replied, standing tall with his arms on his hips. "The teen-agers told me that this is a great honor! He sacrificed himself for the good of everyone! The least we can do is to honor him by going into battle in that costume."

"On that note, we need blondey here to get ready for combat." The superheroine looked to the Italian, with a smile on her face. "Then we'll be on our way."

As I left the small battle field it was only a few arrows before a window appeared in front of my face.

New Skill!
Archery Mastery
A skill that allows the user to freely handle Archery weapons. Archery Weapon Mastery is obtained after using an arrow to strike an object.
Increases Archery weapon damage by 2% per level and Archery weapon speed by 1% per level.

It occurs to me that I need to go and practice a wide variety of things I may do in combat, these windows do block a portion of my vision and the last thing I need to do is be blinded at a critical moment. At least the level up skill box, is much much smaller. I also wished that I had been bothering to count the number of arrows it took after all data mining only works when you maximize the amount of information you have.

I sigh, still an archery skill didn't cost me thing and it's good for me have a ranged combat option, though maybe I should invest in something that doesn't require both hands. It's an interesting thought, but I haven't decided upon a build yet. I don't even know where I am going, I may not find any other weapons or armor for a long time. I may be stuck in some survival situation with those lizards in every direction. I lack any and all information.

Which is bad, very bad. Yet my gamer skill stops me from truly panicking. Game characters never panic I suppose I should be upset that I'm not panicking, a little loss of my humanity, and yet I'm not, my power has changed me and I have no idea how deep it runs, and I don't care by the very nature of the power.
Interesting catch 22.

Luckily I am pulled from my thoughts by the woods ending, seeing a building and someone coming out to meet me and is that zombies, behind a magical barrier? I guess I found a town with a quest.

I look to the red robbed "man"

"Yes, I think I am in another world. The trees are me grinding my skills up, I encountered a low level lizard mob on the way here and looted this now I'm trying to go from noob to leet with the bow since I need a way to kite rather than having to face tank everything. My starter gear was crap after all."

While the wizard is capable of being perfectly understood the young school student speaks a peculiar dialect

He reaches into the air and his bow and the arrow she was holding simply vanish into thin air.
He pulls his arm back with a water bottle, opening it up and taking a drink.

"Oh would you like one?"
He ask as if he didn't just preform some odd form of magic out of nowhere with no gesture, language or apparent effort.

    “Understood.”

Goblin Slayer answered as Red Wizard left the bar, leaving the boy to his own device as he listens to the tipster's explanation.

The goblins he and Red Wizard will be exterminating are armed with advanced technological weapons, and it would seem that they are mercenaries led by another one of their own kind. The goblins were last sighted to be making camp in an abandoned ruins, thus an investigation (and extermination) is to be conducted soon in case the targets' left by then.

I've never heard of goblins being mercenaries,of all sorts, but even then,as ridiculous as it sounds,it is not impossible. From what the tipster's suggesting, these goblins are armed with weapons which I have no knowledge of,and they may not think like a child. The clerk was right about this being different than what I am usually used to....but even so,a goblin is a goblin. I will kill them.

“Got it. Pay me whatever you want,I do not mind what the rewards would be. The same may not be said for my current party member however.”

“Thank you, sir,I wish you and your partner the best of luck.”

Exiting the bar as he pushed the tavern doors aside,Goblin Slayer stood beside the entrance of the tavern as he waited for Red Wizard's return.

    Thepotatogod Thepotatogod Haz. Haz.

After a while of searching, through all of Danville's many seedy warehouses full of notorious criminals (Human and Transformer), it became painfully obvious that this detour was an excuse for Frank to kill a bunch of people.
    Punisher blows up a place.jpg

As the Punisher walked away from the burning building full of still living and screaming thugs, the war veteran informed the two teens, "It was another Synth-En lab..."

The Punisher walked passed the teens as he continued his so-called war against crime, "We'll find Mendez eventually..."

"You don't have to worry about Mendez, Castle!" called out a loud mechanical voice that echoed through the area.

The earth beneath them shook violently as something large and very dangerous was approaching them.

The Punisher stood his ground as he knew who was after them as said perp burst through a giant steel wall.

    3031460-scorponok-tf-regeneration_one_tpb-vol02-edited.jpg
"'Cause you got Scoponok to worry about!" shouted a terrifyingly gigantic Transformer, he was so large that he made the very city they were in feel small.

Frank was unmoved by sight of the mechanical titan as he simply looked over at the young teen girl and asked, "You better know how to use a gun."

"<Hm, that's quite a dilemma,>" said Red Wizard. "<You should try killing a Boss monster. I can unlock new Magicka quickly by doing that, but I'd wager you can gain other things. You don't look like you belong to my magic system, but some other system entirely.>"

The gamer pulled out a water from his inventory, and asked the wizard if he'd like one, but the red-hooded figure shook his head. "<No, I don't require water for now. Besides, one of my basic spells is to conjure it up, so hydration will probably never be a problem for me. Your pocket dimension's interesting, though.>"

"<Anyway, my name's Red Wizard. Me and a pal of mine called Goblin Slayer are gonna go and kill some goblins. You have weird clothes, but if you need some targets for leveling up, I'm sure my companion would agree that extra hands are welcome. Oh, also, those zombies behind the barrier are mine. Please don't kill them.>"

After saying his bit, Red Wizard walked back to the tavern just as Goblin Slayer was coming out. "<So, what do we have on those gobbos?>

“Mercenaries. Camp set up in an abandoned ruins a few miles from here. Armed with advanced weapons which I have no knowledge of. The tipster suggested that they also behave slightly differently than most other goblins outside this settlement.”

Goblin Slayer spoke, looking at the new boy who was following Red Wizard.

“I take it you're the one Red Wizard told me he was going to talk to?”

After saying his bit, Red Wizard walked back to the tavern just as Goblin Slayer was coming out. "<So, what do we have on those gobbos?>

I shrug and follow the red robed man. "So my abilities make learning magic, very easy I think. Perhaps you could attempt to show me the basics and see if that is true. If we are getting paid for fighting these goblins I would be willing to lose part of any cut, or I'm sure we could come to some type of arrangement otherwise, but the reason for the bow was without armor, close combat is stupid for me, so I do rather need to learn some ranged combat and magic would be optimal"

I give a small shrug as an empty gesture, I recognize I don't really have any firm promises or anything to exchange.
I give a small wave to the armored stranger who is apparently the goblin slayer.

I frown the weaponry is problematic, but judging by their equipment it could be equipment closer to my own tech level than this worlds.
I would at least have some grounding on how to handle guns and such.

"I think so, I need to grind so I am happy to join your quest, never split the party means never be alone if you can help it right?"

Red Wizard nodded to the weird boy who has not introduced himself as of yet, saying, "<I don't think I'm old enough to be taking on apprentice, but sure.>"

Red Wizard turned to the forcefield-contained zombies and cast Nullify. Instantly, the shimmering bubble disappeared and the zombies standing within walked forward. Too quickly, as they all walked into each other and tripped en masse, slowly getting up and approaching their master, the Red Wizard.

"<For ranged combat, I usually just pick an element that might do the trick and pour it out of my staff at full force. For trickier opponents, like a Greater Demon, or, say, Cthulhu, an Overpower Arcane Tempest Beam does the job, and when that fails, several castings of Propp's Plasma Party or Dragon Strike will pretty much obliterate anything in existence if it can be obliterated. Anyway, if you need a demonstration to learn, I don't really want to tear craters apart in the area, so I'll just show you some basic stuff for now.>"

With that said, Red Wizard conjured up brown balls that floated into his staff, then shot out as a large boulder moving at bullet-speed. He followed it up by conjuring three balls of roiling red power and transforming them into a crimson beam that seemed to paint the ground and trees black. And then, he conjured three mini-suns and formed a spray of fire, followed by casting the magical equivalent of a water hose. Red Wizard, then, taught him the element of Life - a green beam that seemed to cause flowers to sprout from the ground wherever it hit. Red Wizard summoned arcs of lightning and directed them away from the group. And lastly, the element of Cold, in the form of a spray of cold snow-like particles.

"<That'd be all of the basic elements. Combine water and cold for ice, and water and fire for steam. Also, don't underestimate steam. It combines with other elements to create some mean bullshit attacks. That said, what I've taught you is the ranged application of these elements. As a wizard, I can also cast them on myself, around myself, or infuse them into objects, et cetera. That's all up to you, though. Also, don't forget to eat lots of sausages and cheese; especially sausages. Sausages make you strong, and build character.>"
