• The Beginning

  As I went through the archives of Battleworld and Mite-World, I really was not sure exactly what I would find, all I know is that I wanted to learn the truth of how everything started. The more I searched, the more convoluted everything seemed to become. The rich history of these two Worlds, caught between the struggle of their Creators, each side full of biases, it was a lot to take in. It became harder and harder to find exactly where it all started. As a historian, it is always hard to tell the beginning of the story. After all, the records are so easily skewed by the few that were around, and more often than not, those who were around often didn’t think about recording. Despite that, however, I think it is important to try to give an idea of how all stories start, despite the records, or lackthereof in some cases. For, without the beginning, all stories are just half stories. All stories should be told, though, and therefore throughout this history, I will provide records on the different events that happened throughout the beginning Eras of the two Worlds, which would later cause the political climate of the Modern Era. I hope to shed light on the truth of each battle and political acts that happened throughout the history of both of these worlds, and bring to the knowledge of everyone the records that are so easily forgotten.

  There is a myth, in many of the worlds across the omniverse, that believe in the notion of an all powerful God. In this myth, it is said that in seven days, from nothing at all, God created the world and everything on it. It was not much unlike that, how Battleworld was created. Though, Battleworld was not created by a God, but by the Beyonder. In the year XXX0, the Beyonder, an all-powerful being, is said to have “swept away scores of settings from across the omniverse and placed them on a planet of his own making.” (Post #1). Why he did this, there are no records to say, however, there are many theories that scholars have discussed throughout the years. Ann Nocenti, who earned her PhD in Battleworld History from Empire State University in New Tokyo, Valpan, suggests that the Beyonder wanted to prove his power to everyone in the omniverse that he was just as, if not more, powerful than the God some believe created their worlds. Franklin Miller, a fellow graduate of Empire State, believes that the Beyonder was tired of the divide between the worlds and thought it would create more cosmic harmony to bring them all together. I believe that the Beyonder wanted to create a world all his own that he could rule over however he so wished. Though, as said before, no record clearly states any of these theories to be true. What is more troubling is that, just as the records show very little for the creation of Battleworld, they show just as much, if not less, for the creation of its rival: Mite-World.
  
  However, it can be deferred that Mite-World was created in the year XXX1, soon after the creation of Battleworld. It was built by Bat-Mite, who was self proclaimed as Batman’s number one fan. (Post # 1). Bat-Mite, ever known as a “cosmic trickster” (Post # 1), supposedly created his own world for similar reasons as the Beyonder, but with a much more facetious reason. Miller suggests that, unlike the Beyonder who may have created his world as a way to bring the omniverse together, Bat-Mite may have created his own world to upset it. Of course, just as with Battleworld, there are many more scholars with different theories on the motives behind the creation of Mite-World. Nocenti believes that Bat-Mite was not happy with the world that the Beyonder created and believed he could create something even better. Mike Mignola states that Bat-Mite did not want to so much disrupt the omniverse as he did the Beyonder himself. Though none of these theories can be strictly proven as fact, they are still important to consider.
  
  What historians can determine from the records however, is that somewhere between the years XXX4 and XXX6, the Beyonder and Bat-Mite truly met for the first time. Though it cannot be determined precisely what happened at this meeting, it is by no means a stretch of the imagination to say that it greatly affected life within the two Worlds. Experts believe that such a meeting resulted in the displacement of certain figures from the two Worlds, as well as outside Worlds of the omniverse. The archives themselves hold extensive records on the events that happened with these individuals and the lives that they led after being displaced. Exactly how and why these figures were displaced, however, is greatly debated even into the Modern Era as it seems to have been completely random and no expert can explain exactly how it happens. Those who were displaced from the outside Worlds, were more likely to have a difficult time assimilating to their surroundings as those who had already lived in the two Worlds in some way. This displacement would show to be a great sense of tension between the Battleworld and Mite-World as the time carried on and relationships were forced to shift around those coming from the outside, and needing to find replacements for those moved from World to World.
