Cait had just finished puking into the toilet. She hadn't been sick the entire pregnancy, but now, on the one day that she was expected to look her absolute best, she was sick. She hoped that it was just nerves - what kind of hostess would she be if she spent the entire shower throwing up? The baby was doing somersaults in her stomach as she moved over to the sink, opening the cabinet behind the mirror to grab the toothpaste. She couldn't greet her guests with breath that could literally kill a plant. So she brushed her teeth, glancing into the bedroom to see if Reuben was still there. But he was nowhere to be found. Some husband he was. Of course, she loved him, and he wasn't a bad husband, but she was so nervous about the shower, and she was so uncomfortable with the baby taking up so much room that she often took her frustration out on him. Reuben didn't deserve that. She'd be so relieved when January 8th came - her due date. But for now, it was still December 11th, and she was still big and fat and pregnant.

She spat out the toothpaste before grabbing the mouthwash, swishing it around in her mouth before spitting that out in the sink as well. Next was getting her hair curled. Reuben probably wouldn't want her to use the curling iron, what with the possibility of accidentally dropping it onto her stomach (she had become clumsier in her state), but she had to make herself look presentable. So Cait curled her hair, pinning back one side of her hair with a cute hair ornament and bringing the other side forward with many curls framing her face. A subtle swipe of eyeshadow and mascara, along with a little blush and nude lipstick, and she was ready to get into her shower outfit. But it would take another person to help zip her up. "Reuben!" Cait's voice echoed throughout the house, hopefully reaching him. Lord knows where he was right now.
