Alpha (1 or 2; mates):

This wolf or wolves are the leader of the pack. They can be disposed of if they are not leading the pack well or are a tyrant. However, the alpha has the right to any female they wish but the gods choose the alpha's main mate who rules alongside him. They are responsible for guiding and protecting the pack, maintaining the borders, leading hunts and patrols, arranging relations with other packs and humans, etc.
Beta (1 or 2):
These wolves are the second-in-command of the pack and are in line to be future alphas. Betas train not only the deltas for their future role but also train the subordinates. The betas serve as guards for the alphas and their confidents, in charge of making sure the pack follows the rules and laws set forth by the alpha. This means they can punish anyone who steps out of line.
Shaman (1):
Lead healer of the pack, they have as much respect and authority as an alpha. They give advice to the alphas and oversee the Caretakers, training them as well as interacting with the spirits and can step into the afterlife without issue if they need more guidance. They must know what herbs are toxic and which are healthy, as well as maintaining the pack's belief in the gods and ensuring the physical, mental/emotional & spiritual health of the pack.
Shaman Apprentice (1): This member is usually a half-year or adolescent who is chosen to succeed in the role of Shaman and is trained by the Shaman themselves. Once chosen, they move into the Shaman's home and are responsible for learning everything they can about healing and the history of the pack.
Deltas (1-2):
These wolves are betas in training. Deltas run messages to other packs, can lead hunts and patrols, and serve as an intermediary between the lower ranks and the high ranks. They may accompany the alpha to other packs. Deltas are responsible for training the half-years and teaching them everything they need to know.
Guardians:
When the pack is moving, they move in front of the pack to clear the way of any obstacles and find safe paths to take. Guardians live a dangerous life for they clean up any messes left behind and have to be able gather information and handle targets as well as assassinate anyone deemed a danger to the pack. Tasked with pursing and chasing out threats, intruders, and unwelcome entities, guarding their home with pride. They track unknown threats to the pack and chase out hostile threats and dangerous predators from their territory. They accompany scouts and hunters on border and hunting patrols, keeping a vigilant eye as others carry out their duty, keep their fighting skills sharp through training sessions to better defend pack members, and send a strong message to rogues and other packs through displays of their supremacy by participating in spars.

They are tasked with the responsibility of locating and tracking herds and other adequate food sources that will comfortably be able to sustain the pack, keeping eyes on the movements of prey and alerting their Alphas should a land cease to be fruitful. They are also trusted with organizing hunting parties and teams that will go on specific excursions to ensure the den or camp constantly stocked with a healthy supply of meat. Their main duties are to keep an eye on their resources such as water supplies and potential den areas as well as keep track of natural resources, finding dens and areas of abundant food for the pack. As the name suggests, the hunters of the pack are the main ones to provide fresh kills and they workday and night to find enough to satisfy the growing pack. Their patrols may vary in size depending on the terrain and prey they are targeting; from chasing hares and deer in the forest using only a pair to five and up for larger take downs ranging from elk to moose and bison in the open plains. They must be athletic and able to follow orders efficiently and without question as well as bounce back from injuries that frequent their profession from kicks to wounds from horns.
Scouts:
These members are responsible for patrolling the territory and borders, gathering intelligence on any potential threats or news, and reporting it to the alpha and/or betas, marking the borders and often the first members to intercept newcomers and threats. They maintain the territory and borders, deliver messages, and occasionally escort the Caretakers when they go out on business with other packs. Part of daily life as a Scout is going on patrols as it is vital for the pack’s safety. The life of a scout is a difficult one, while it certainly can be filled with adventures it isn’t all sunshine and often times the lifestyle drives many into a lonesome depressive state or forces them to embrace their inner assassin. Tasked with the darker side of ensuring the pack’s safety, they may be sent on secret missions to enter opposing packs for many reasons; mostly ranging from intelligence gathering to sabotaging to assassinations of high ranking or simply unlucky wolves. They must be intense actors, willing to play any part, and yet remain loyal at their heart to themselves and their pack despite the many faces they may wear. They often are the background workers who clean up messes the pack is best left unaware of but are vital none the less.
Caretakers:
These members are responsible for healing, pup-sitting and taking care of pregnant and mothering females by protecting them and providing food for them. Caretakers tend wolves that are ill or injured and ensure that these wolves heal and recover properly. Caretakers also look after the pack’s pups, providing knowledge, entertainment, and a watchful eye when parents are not present. These wolves are responsible for tending to the physical and mental issues of the pack, foraging, watching the mothers and pups and taking care of the injured and ill after treatment. It is the job of the Caretakers to ensure their patients can rest in comfort and safety until they get better. Caretakers may accompany scouts to heal them after an attack or gather supplies when out.

These females are those members who are expecting, nursing or have young pups to care for. They are taken care of by the Caretakers and are relieved of duty when they become pregnant, often fed before the rest of the pack. When pups leave the nursery at six years of age, then they resume their rank.
Subordinates:
They are omegas who want to rank up, newcomers to the pack until they get trusted, and adolescents. The subordinates are responsible for helping where needed but their main duties are to help hunt and patrol. There may be several reasons for this; some wolves quite simply do not want the responsibility of holding a rank but still wish for somewhere they can call home. These members prefer to spread themselves over a variety of vital and fundamental jobs which must be served within the pack and thus have training in every rank.
Omegas:
These wolves are prisoners, pups of omegas, rape, prisoners or traitors, demoted wolves, sick or injured wolves until they heal, elders, members that have left the pack and return, handicapped wolves, or those who are too submissive and timid. They do all the menial labor, fix things, skin animals, initiate play and keep the peace in the pack. Omegas are also responsible for delivering messages throughout the pack and guarding the food/half-years during fights or hunting.
Half-Years:
Young wolves between the ages of six to twelve years, they are trained by the Deltas and expected to obey them. This is an age of rambunctiousness and the first time they are allowed out of the nursery. The Half-Years begin learning fighting and hunting skills at the age of eight. As long as they are not weak, half-years can attend hunts but not actively participate in them. This is the age when half-years are given small chores to do such as cleaning dens or skinning animals.
Pups:
The youth of the pack, these members are born or adopted into the pack, for youngsters under six years. Pups are the lowest rung of the ladder but when they turn six years of age they can join in hunts though not participate in them. They are expected to show subservience at all times and can boss around the omegas but that is it. Pups cannot leave the territory at all without their parent or a Caretaker.
