asahi have always been rather an introvert. he prefers to stay alone and speak when spoken too only. and that was exactly the cause of why he became a loner. his reputation changed although throughout the year, whilst meeting new people (ryuuzaki) and focusing on his grades and how the public views him more.

when close to asahi, he tends to be more caring in an non-verbal way. he would help you with even the smallest thing, such as cleaning something you left behind, bringing something to you that you looked like you need without being asked, and etc.

unless brought up or noticed, he'll accept the gratitude from them, but if not then he'll just pretend nothing happened and the caring act still continues. despite how caring towards the people whom he cherishes, towards absolute strangers, he often will find himself judging and deeming them to be inferior. this bad habits consists of looking down on the people, and the reasoning for that is for his own self-assurance, and an ego boost.

asahi was born into a normal japanese family, there was nothing special nor interesting about his family. he was born into a slightly wealthy family. despite the fact that the young husband and wife who were already was busy with their work, personal life and also two kids, whom he calls older siblings, they decided to give one more child which turned out to be him.

the combination does not work well, his entire childhood was filled with the absence and neglect of both his parents, meanwhile his older siblings were at the age where they're old enough to fend for themselves.

being the younger siblings in the kasumi family meant a lot of high expectations. both of his sister has graduated university with flying colors and are now a lawyer and the other is a doctor. he prefers the lawyer sister, aiko, in all honesty. she bullies him a lot less and have an old fat cat that nibble on your toes whenever he can. going back to the expectations, his father and mother are over-achievers, just like every other asian parents. expecting asahi to have the top grades, go into the most elite university, prioritizing his studies over everything. they're also overwhelmingly traditional. everything have to be the same and old-schooled; when he asked permission for dyeing his hair other colors, asahi was almost kicked out of the house, along with a (five)-hour rant from his mother that he had to sit through.

he was a black sheep outside of his family too. with the lack of affection and communication, he never learned how to properly associate and connect with his classmates, leading asahi to be cast out and looked down upon. he didn't pay too much attention to it. as a kid, he often just hangs around and pick up some random skills.

material art was also a random skill he picked up whilst spending his time by himself. it was enjoyable really. but it never occured to him that one day he would be using this to help people. it happened when he was around fourteen. the weather was horrid, it was rainy and damp. he wanted nothing more but to go home, but when blocked by three kids ganging on one person in the middle of the road, not letting anyone passed by, asahi was quite pissed. they could have picked another space to fight, anywhere else than here. so he did what he had to do and well ... clear the road. it didn't really matter what happened to the kid that he ganged up on, he didn't really see their face anyways because of the rain, and his glasses were also quite foggy.

the next day, whilst packing up after classes, he was met with a bright, playful grin in his face. it was ryuuzaki, the class troublemaker. he still remembers that moment as if it was yesterday, the encounter was unexpected to him. very unexpected. he had no idea why the most well liked person in the class would take an interest in him, a cast out but here he was. the next following day was filled with ryuuzaki following him around, hanging with him. and he still doesn't understand the reason why to this day. but whatever the reason is, he's glad because gradually they have become closer and closer throughout the years, but it has complicated certain things for asahi.

ryuuzaki has always been pleasant to talk and befriend with. a little too pleasant. on the outside, everyone seems to admire and fawn over his cheerful, nice-guy aura, despite all the shit he pulls. he has always been a little too cheerful and polite, which people would often just brush off as him being polite. his outside persona isn't very perfect though, with his huge ego and stubbornness. although most of the time it's brushed off as they assume that he did that for shits and giggles but at times, it leads into a fist fight, landing him into the nurse's office, and then, he has to deal with all the naggings, which are worse than getting a punch in the face in his opinion.

but as soon as ryuuzaki becomes comfortable with you (rarely. considering the fact that he only has around three close friends.) the polite, cheerful guy becomes the snide, teasing asshole. it's fine with most of them though. his teasing never has crossed the line before. or so he believes.

although the hugest problem for ryuuzaki is his inability to control his emotions. although he has never really cried before it's mainly his anger and how he deals with it. considering the fact that he's stressed very often due to all the family and school conflicts, and his coping mechanism isn't the best, it's quite concerning to others at times.

ryuuzaki's childhood was decent. it's not the best but it's not the worst. his parents are normal office workers, who are quite literally addicted to working, he was the only child too so that made it worse. but he was fine with being alone since after all he can always hang out with his friends.

his lifestyle changed although when he reached twelve. his father abruptly left his mother, and the woman refused to tell him and brushes it off every time he brings it up or directly asks her about it, until this day too. but whatever the reason is, it tore the family into even smaller pieces. her mother quitted her job at the office and began selling her bodies to various types of men, the money she gets is much more than before, and he's glad for her, but his biggest concerns are all the gossip.

wherever he goes, the people talks and whisper behind his back, thinking that he can't hear them. "hey have you heard? that child's parents are divorced. "; "his mother is selling her bodies for men now, what a skank. is her son going to turn out like that too?"; "LOLOL how much money do you think she's going to give me to use her and her son?"

he eventually learns how to control his emotions, but with all the gossip and the name-calling, mainly from adults, he eventually snapped. on one of his classmates. which ended up with ryuuzaki being expelled and an overall worse reputation amongst adults. he eventually moved into a boarding school for troubled teens, and it turns out that no one there knew about his background nor all the rumours surrounding him which was extremely relieving to him.

the years in the school passed by quickly, and he got himself the trouble maker reputation, which is far better than before, and his popularity and ability to get along with everyone remains. but it still doesn't mean that everyone liked him.

although ryuuzaki has participated in many sports and is slowly giving himself a workout addiction, he never had gained any muscles or extra strength for some reason, which means that he's pretty much fucked when it comes to fighting. and boy, the people who had a grudge against him for some reason were having a field day when they figured that information about him.

it also ended up with him being surrounded and jumped by five people in the middle of a sketchy street, with all of them beating him up at once. the pain was bearable, after all, they all were in middle school at the time. he could have held out until the end of the beating, but another kid jumped in. the face was recognizable, it was the quiet kid sitting in the back row of his class, and heroically enough he fought the five of them at once, and quickly left too, not giving ryuuzaki a proper chance to thank the guy.

so he did what he had to do and popped up in front of his desk the next day. although like the oblivious person asahi is, he didn't recognize ryuuzaki and was clearly confused the entire time. it was surprisingly adorable. and since that incident, he and asahi have been attached to the hips.

can't smoke. he can't inhale the smoke and always ends up coughing his lungs out. so he stares at asahi in envy whenever he smokes.
