Noah nodded and squeezed her hand gently "They're gonna send the ambulance. I'm going to grab the bag from the nursery and I'll be back." He said before going to grab the hospital bag. Once the EMTs arrived he led them up to her and stayed out of their way.

She managed to just about stay calm, barely taking her eyes off of Noah, not aware at the time that Sadie was staying super close to her the whole time as well until they were getting her loaded, just about managing to stay calm enough they could help her out, glad they had let Noah ride with her, holding his hand tightly.

Noah stayed in her line of sight the entire time. He held her hand tight and sighed "You're okay, the boys are okay, everything is going to be okay." He said softly trying to keep her calm.

She frowned, not really able to talk much at this point, just managing to stare at him until she ended up passing out a couple minutes before they arrived. The last thing she heard was Noah starting to panic before it went black.

Noah began to panic when he saw her start to pass out "Whats going on?! Is she okay?!" He asked the EMTs worriedly feeling his anxiety start to spiral.

They pulled up at the hospital not a minute after that and let him follow. “Mr. Davis we’re gonna help her the best we can. Her blood pressure is sky high right now, they’re gonna do what is best for her and your children.” He explained to him while they moved her to the emergency room, relaying all the relevant information to the team and left them to it after that. From there they had Noah step out of the room to give them some space and eventually came to talk to him.

”Mr. Davis your wife is starting to do a little better but I’m afraid that one of the babies is quite distressed and there doesn’t seem to be any signs of things settling down. The best thing at this point is going to be delivering them now. We’re aware that it would be about 8 weeks early but your wife isn’t conscious right now to be able to consent and it is a matter of urgency.” The doctor explained to him

Noah looked up at him with wide eyes and took a shaky breath "Just.....just do what you have to do to save them." He said softly pulling his phone out to try and call Nick to tell him what was happening.

He got the paperwork sorted to get his signature on the consent forms while they got her ready, not letting him in the room with how delicate things were at the moment.

Nick frowned a little, rubbing at his face a little as he answered the phone, sitting up and turning the light on. “Noah this better be important I just fell asleep.” He muttered.

Noah took a deep breath when he answered the phone "I'm at the hospital, Carmen.....her blood pressure was high and they're doing an emergency c-section." He said quickly

He frowned a little and took it in before responding. “Well we knew it was high that’s why they put her on bed rest. She get worse?” He asked him frowning. “Alright, you want me to come down?” He asked him, nodding a little when he said yes. “Alright. Gimme a minute. I’ll get there when I can alright?” He told him and hung up. By the time he arrived they had already come to talk to him again and Nick stepped over right as they were starting to explain everything. “Hey, I’m here.”

her doctor waited until they’d stopped talking before continuing. “Your wife is doing well. We’re gonna keep her under very close watch for the next 24 hours but she should be just fine.” He explained. “Baby number one is doing as well as we can hope. They’re both going to be spending some time in the nicu until they’re ready to go but they’d like to talk to you over there as soon as possible. I believe there have been some complications with baby number two.” He explained, giving them directions to where they needed to go.

Noah gulped quietly and nodded some "Okay, thank you." He said quietly before heading with Nick to where the babies were. He gave the nurse his name and took a deep breath "How are my sons?" He asked quietly trying to stay as calm as possible.

The nurse smiled at him a little and nodded. “If you’d like to come with me u can take you to see them. If you and your partner have picked out names that would be good to get them down as soon as possible to eliminate any confusion as well. Baby number one is doing as well as we could possibly ask for. It’s looking like you’re gonna be able to hold him within the hour. Baby number two is not doing as well. It’s become very clear that he has a problem with his heart. His doctor is working on finding out what it is and as soon as we know then we can let you know what your options are. I understand that this is all very overwhelming but we are here to help with what we can.” She nodded to them both and stepped out to give Noah a few minutes to process and meet his sons.

Noah gave a small nod signaling he understood before following her back. He took in a sharp breath when he saw his son hooked up to all kinds of wires while inside an incubator "He's so tiny.....they both are." He said quietly noticing his other son beside him with some wires attached to him, but not nearly as many of his other.

Nick followed him in and sighed quietly, “Hey I’m gonna give you a minute… I’ll go wait to hear about when you can see Carm… I’ll text you when I know anything or like, call if you need something.” He told him, clapping him on the shoulder and left him to it, not putting the message out yet, not sure if either of them would want to.

Another nurse came in to check on them half an hour later and smiled gently at Noah. “Do they have names yet? Oh and we’re gonna give it another half hour or so but then it would be really good for you to do some skin on skin with this little one. He’s doing really good already, just needs a little help to be fully ready to go anywhere.” She explained

Noah gulped quietly just staring at the babies not registering anything fully until the nurse gently touched his shoulder "Huh?" He asked softly nodding when she asked again about the names "Oh um yes, Sebastian and Jake." He said quietly looking at the two of them "He's Jake...and he is Sebastian." He said softly pointing to the healthier of the two when saying Jake and the other when saying Sebastian.

She nodded and made a note on each of their charts, “We’ll let you know what’s happening with Sebastian as soon as we know ourselves.” She promised, leaving him to it when his phone started ringing.

Carmen was already awake and asking to see him, having got Nick to hand her his phone so she could call him. “Hey, Nick said that you’re with them. He said they couldn’t wait.” She frowned, “Can you come here? Just for a little bit? I wanna see them… Like bring photos.” She told him quietly, a little in shock still about what had happened. The last thing she remembered was getting up to go pee and to fill her water bottle.

Noah gulped quietly and nodded some "Um yeah, yeah I'll be there as soon as possible. They said in about an hour I can hold Jake." He said softly before chatting with her a few more minutes. He took some photos before letting the nurses know he would be going to see his wife real quick.

She reached for him as soon as he stepped into the room, the emotions finally coming out once he was holding her. “I’m okay. They think I’m pretty much in the clear now. Not allowed to go anywhere til tomorrow but I’m okay… my nurse said we almost lost one… I wanna see them.” She told him through tears, reaching up to wipe his once he pulled away a little. “Then you can go back to them. I’m okay. Promise.” She told him.

Noah held her tightly to him and took some shaky breaths grounding himself in the fact that she was okay and doing well. He pulled away only a little and pulled out his phone "Here is Jake....they told me I could hold him soon and do skin to skin." He said softly before finally swiping to show her Sebastian.

She just kept swapping between smiling and frowning with both of them, eventually speaking. “They’re here. They’re finally here. What’s… what’s wrong with Sebastian?” She asked him, wiping her eyes again. “Is he gonna be okay?” She asked him quietly, holding his arm while he showed her the photos.

Noah gave a heavy sigh "I don't know yet....they're still trying to figure everything out, but it might be something with his heart." He explained quietly giving her hand a small squeeze when he felt her grip on his arm tighten.

She just nodded and frowned. “Whatever they gotta do we just say yes. I don’t… I wanna see them but they’re gonna make me wait til tomorrow.” She told him quietly. “Noah I can’t keep my eyes open. Go be with them alright?” She mumbled starting to fall asleep again.

Noah gave a small nod and looked over to Nick "Would you....would you mind staying with her if you can?" He asked quietly not wanting her to be alone right now.

He sighed but nodded. “Visiting hours finish here soon though. You want me to bring you anything tomorrow?” He asked him, nodding when he said he would text, sighing as he watched him go.

The same nurse from before smiled when Noah returned. “You are just in time. I was coming to let you know that you can hold little Jake here now.” She told him.

Noah smiled ever so slightly and nodded some "My wife wants to see them, if she is doing okay will she be able to hold him too?" He asked as he followed her into the little area that they had the two of them in.
