My Interest Check
Silas took a deep breath of fresh air, he was lounging in a boat he had found, it was beached. The old rowboat was definitely abandoned but Silas found a little piece of paradise with it. Looking up at the blue sky his honey-colored eyes shined with the promise the day would bring. People were no doubt bustling about, time marches forward after all. The Roman empire was no more and the remnants were on the way, people were bustling and new inventions were being created. Art was on the rise. This was supposed to be the re-birth of society, the humans were quite interesting. The man pulled himself from the boat and dusted the sand off of his clothing, he looked similar to that of a pirate, he did love loose white shirts that showed off his chest. He hummed to himself as he walked along the beach, he wasn't far from a city, he could easily pop over and view the humans. But, he felt he needed to go see the other balances. He was sure they were all working, after all without them the world would fall apart, there would be no direction for anything. Nothing would happen, no new lives, no deaths, no emotions, no... anything. How boring. But, thankfully all the balances were here, and it was Silas's job to make sure things stayed just that, balanced.

His boots soon found the grass and eventually, he found the hard dirt that was well-traveled, it was a road that would eventually bring him to a bustling stone-paved road that would be bustling with morning people. Children and adults alike, and probably some animals too. No doubt plague would be about, and Death might be lingering somewhere nearby. Fate... hopefully wasn't causing anything too terrible happen. Day was probably bouncing around and keeping the sun in place, Night was likely on the other side of the world, enjoying his darkness. Of course, he was sure Life was around, probably with Evolution and Water too, or Wind. Lots of possibilities, Silas could see all of the possibilities of what could happen for the day, but it was up to the others to set things in motion. He just had to keep things moving forward, time shouldn't stop after all. When he finally made it to the city he could hear a tavern already having laughs and commotion, a band was no doubt playing with the music that trickled into the street. A feline rubbed against his pant leg and the man smiled softly, leaning down to pet the kitten, humans were always interesting to investigate. He hoped his balances were nearby, he'd hate to leave the happiness of the people, but of course, he had to eventually. In time he would.

Morana was doing her job, like always. She had no real understanding of day or night, she couldn't see after all. The only thing she could see was the floating orbs and the little times above them, they always counted down to 0, but she could only see those that needed to die within three hours. She had been in the city for a long time now, taking the lives of those who were too sick to go on, a few women who died during childbirth or whose baby didn't make it, a man who got mugged outside and a kid who tripped and fell. Someone took too much medicine, one didn't take enough, someone fell asleep in the tub and one accidentally added lead to their bread instead of flour. She even watched someone make tea from the root of a belladonna flower. There was a kitten who didn't make it, a dog who starved to death, a rat who ate another and a cat who ate a fish. They all had spirits, little white balls of light that told her they weren't balances. They had short lives. In a city that had so much going on Momo tended to float above the heads of others, avoiding touching anyone, and harboring the spirits in her abdomen. She would need to find life soon, her better half no doubt needed some new spirits to make new life.

Momo paused in a spot where there wasn't anyone, there were no spirits around, not even below her, but she could hear music. Looking around she figured she was in a small area, a are she could relax alone. She had to focus and held her hands out, feeling for walls. After a moment she felt a wall and then another, she was in a small alley, away from others, no one could see her. She stayed invisible, or at least invisible to humans, the other balances would always be able to see her. Even if she didn't know how to dance, or didn't know what the hell dancing looked like, she loved to do it anyway. Moving her body to the beat of the music and happily giggling to herself, she was more than happy to boogie down so long as no one was around. She just wanted a short break from killing others. From taking spirits and putting them in her abdomen. As much as she felt it was a comfort for them, she preferred to let things live. A few moments without death wouldn't be too bad. Of course, Silas would say otherwise, but Momo just wanted to dance. She wanted to pretend she was perfectly safe to just... relax. At least for a little while.

Val knew she had a kind heart underneath the constant fear that plagued her, she was sure of it, back before everything and everyone made a pit open in the bottom of her stomach and burst into screams.

It was just more apparent in her youth... Or, rather, the equivalent to her youth.

It was a requirement, she was sure, to be able to keep going to despite the death and disease that ran through the world, you needed a kind heart. A strong one.

One she never felt she had.

It was just that, in moments like this, watching the ambience of a dying mother and a sickly infant... She could feel that strength, that warmth, that drive return to her, however briefly.

Invisible fingers brush over the young girls ankle, and come to rest on the small, frail, infants stomach.

Her blessing would, at the very least, see them through what was left of the summer. And if they survived beyond that, then so be it.

Evalyne was perched atop a roof of a small cottage near the woods that she had called her own for some time now. She used it as her work space and personal garden in her free time. For now though she was hard at work forming new life. The souls of the dead, not yet formed floated around the garden, their own personal heaven till she was able to grant them a new form. Within her garden she had one of every plant. Though most of the trees she only kept as for a few years so they wouldn't be take up to much space. It was beautiful and lush. Despite her abilities she also opted for growing them all the traditional way.
In her lap she had one spirit. She seemed to mold it like clay preparing it to take on a new form, this one was to become a fawn, a peaceful soul that deserved a peaceful life in her opinion. Once she felt happy with her work she sent the soul off, watching it speed away to it's new destination.
Knowing it would reach its soon to be mother in no time she called another soul to her. As her hand reached out it floated into her palm for her so begin work on. A human child this time. She hummed as worked before sending it off. Some of the souls were immediately handed off to Leia who might further change them. After working on a few more souls she paused to look at the sky. Her wings were spread out beneath her as she laid on the roof.
"Maybe it's time to go into town, do some more work there and look around.

The Infinite Void. Isra just laid there, staring out at the vast expanse of everything that was...well...him. Everything that wasn't touched by the bright light of Day, was his, including everything that was her reflection. He could feel it all too, things in the darkness, dying, living, breathing, resting. With a thought, he could be there. The Night had a thousand eyes after all. A quick flick through the darkness of the planet Earth and he spotted a few things. Silas was walking, always moving forwards to his next task or objective as usual, Val was doing her thing, healing the sick and frail...though the look on her face was as bothered as ever. Isra always kept at least one eye on her, just to make sure she stayed safe.

Evalyne was always interesting to watch. Her work was complex and unique and watching her work was a pleasant pastime when he wasn't busy with other things.

Morana was easiest to find. Darkness and Death went hand in hand after all. He allowed himself a small smile as he saw her dancing, enjoying her single moment alone. He shifted his attention, finding the other Balances, finding them in various places, doing their own thing.

Then he was back at his physical body. He sat up, dust and rock floating away from him as it was disturbed by his movement. Light steps carried him far before he stopped at the edge of darkness and looked out at the round blue planet it the distance. Lit up by Solana's light, he simply observed. It was their home, a place where all the Balances resided in some form or another. The Balances were gathering again...things tended to happen then. New things. A rare excited smile appeared on his face "Time to go" he mouthed, no sound traveling out. Then with a step, he fell into the darkness and came out in an alleyway. It was still daylight here of course, he needed to be careful.

"Apologies Morana" he said softly "I would have picked a different place and left you to your own, but this is the darkest spot in town"

With sun light touched the canopy of the woodland, nature had fully embraced the day and everywhere was bursting with life.

Life was Leia’s expertise, the work that she had been doing since the dawn of time. She isn’t the creator of life, that is the job of Evalyne, the balance of Life. Her work is to be the care taker, the curator and the guide that keep them going, to make them adapt to the change in the world.

Just like every day, she had to roam the world, observing and analyzing the consequences of her work. It isn’t an easy job even for a celestial being such as her. In even the smallest part of this woodland, there were almost uncountable amount of life form that she needed to check on, from tiny unicellular amoebae, to fungi under the log, to massive oak tree and to the lively thrushs singing among the branches... Every single ones will have to be observed and made note of how they are fairing in their state... And how their next of kin would be in the future. The simple life forms however are not that difficult to manage, they barely need much change anyway and if they do it’s just as simple as snapping fingers... That couldn’t be said for the more complex life forms though...

Leia rose from the ground toward a bird nest. Fast fluttering, insect-liked wings had spouted from her back to aid her in these roaming task. A pair of turtle dove had mated recently and the female was about to lay her eggs. Leia awaited and soon she saw a couple of small orbs flying toward her and the nest.

“Just in time, Eva... Just in time.” Leia spoke to herself with a smirk as she mentioned her working partner who had sent in the soul energy from which would become a couple new life, seeding in these turtle dove eggs.

The female dove finally laid her first egg, but to Leia’s suprise, the soul energy didn’t sink into it... This one was a foul egg, its shell was too thin to bear a life. “Oh my... No life in this one huh?” Leia said and started to analyzed the mother bird. “My dear, the chemical in your body was even higher than the last time...” Leia exclaimed.

While the wood seemed as if it’s pure and normal like it’s always be, it wasn’t... It hadn’t been for sometimes. Human agriculture plant not so far away had been using chemical in their farming for ages and it had stained creatures that lived nearby. It gradually but massively affect these life forms in many ways, most was negatively...

Leia was nervous about these change... It’s completely unnatural and she had no power over these human’s inventions. All she could do is trying to change the creatures so that their body can adapt and cope with such soiled interference... However, the effect of these problem is happening in much faster rate and it’s getting too hard for life forms to adapt with it.

“I will be raising the ability to obtain more nutrition and extracting waste in these souls then... Hopefully when your babies are born, they will be able to cope better with human’s toxic invention than you then...” Leia spoke sadly as she rubbed the mother dove’s head gently. The soul energies still floating around the mother awaiting for the healthy eggs to be laid, which would be the upcoming days, probably... Leia will have to return and check on them again.

The balance of Evolution then moved on, looking for something else...
