Aboard the Gullinberst...

For all those travelling upon this already battle-scared Titan vessel, it wasn't long before several of the planet's suns were visible in the sky above, shortly after an all-too brief night's rest; that which was rudely interrupted by an assault from the Blackwater Clan. They were a rag-tag group of Titans, grouped together out of greed and necessity, unlike the Clan Coldtusk, masters of the Gullinberst who fought together through strong bonds of brotherhood and immense pride. However, it wasn't just the Coldtusk Titans who settled matters with the Blackwater Clan, it was also the numerous Immortal passengers who had been graciously welcomed aboard the ship back in Gold Harbour, the premiere port town of Bellum, famous as the first point in the great yearly journey known as the "Pilgrimage", an important piece of the Titan's ancient culture and heritage, firmly rooted in their beliefs in battle, glory and honour.

"You feel it the same, don't you?" Braeg'ereck spoke with his hoarse, tired voice, looking across the darkened room at his brother, sitting across from him. "Pity." He spat, lowering his head to stare at his blackened palms, raw from combat, burnt to a crisp from his own reckless nature. "Respect." His brother, Gurush, finally spoke up after hours of heavy silence. He was the one who rarely spoke, allowing Braeg to lead the clan. Taking Braeg'ereck by surprise, he remained still, until he understood. They both understood the harsh difference between the way both enemies had treated them; one had rejected their souls, treated them like garbage. But these Titans saw them as nothing but potential comrades. They lay in silence once again, contemplating their fates.

Just as the suns rose up into the sky above the Gullinberst, so did the looming continent upon the horizon rise into view of the Immortals; The Badlands. The captain of the ship remained seated in his throne, grinning as the new challenge steadily approached. However, the closer the Gullinberst came to this land, it became clear that it was not a beautiful sandy beach that welcomed them, but a massive rocky outcrop, which seemingly prevented all entrance by way of sea. Though on closer inspection, there did appear to be a way inland between the rocks, but one that would never accomodate the extreme size and proportion of the Gullinberst. Nevertheless, the Gullinberst set it's sights on it's final destination for this part of their journey; Pilgrim's Bay.

In Pilgrim's Bay...

"Won't they.. won't they leave now?" "The smell.. I can't stand it.." "They'll be back, i'm sure of it.." The hushed whispers ran rampant through the streets and buildings of Pilgrim's Bay. The town of journeys, adventure and companionship, now reduced to a Mortal prison, where only fear and sorrow remain. The buildings sparkled and gleamed, a town where money was never an issue. Preparing new adventurers for the Pilgrimage was a profitable business, but as of now, the stench of death was predominant. The stench of rotting flesh, blood and fear permeated the once peaceful streets. The majority of this town had been abandoned, the civilians hid to the best of their ability, and protected their loved ones. While just out of sight, an unnatural dark presence awaited it's next meal, prepared to commit the ultimate sin without a hint of remorse.

Finally, the Gullinberst's voyage ended as it reached a stone bridge, marking the entrance to the Badlands. The ship could go no further, but the stone bridge led to a tunnel in the cliffs, allowing access to the rest of the town. Jad Tzoknill climbed from his seat atop the ship, and took a deep breath, ready to leave his beloved vessel for a brand new journey. "Passengers, it comes time to depart." He shouted and beckoned for the Immortals to jump onto the bridge. "Here we are, my brothers. I'll leave the ship in your hands for now." The Captain spoke to his crew, allocating which divisions of the clan would join him, and which ones would sail the ship along the coast, eventually reaching the southernmost point, where the Clan would reunite once again when Jad's team had completed the journey. Launching himself off the ship's deck, Jad landed heavily on the stone bridge, and awaited the rest of his clan, and whoever else wished to join him in his travels. "I wish you well, Immortals. Be safe on the great sands, where we may meet again." He waved and laughed as many of the Immortal travellers left the ship in groups of their own.

Deep in the confines of the Gullinberst, the two brothers had quickly gotten to work, repairing the wounds they themselves had inflicted on the vessel. The conclusion they had come to was unspoken between them, but words were not needed in this case. They'd remain upon the Gullinberst until they were no longer needed.

Meanwhile, the Huntress sat upon the ship's railing, waiting impatiently for the time when or if the other clan members would emerge from inside. It was time to get to work, but most of all, it'd be important to see the outcome of what exactly would occur next in the future of this Titan clan.

Issan was more than excited to finally be in the "most harsh and dangerous territory" of this planet, with his plain golden sword in hand he trained himself to be prepared for any kind of opponents. With each slash and thrust he made he could feel the rush inside his being, but it wasn't his natural knowledge which was rushing inside of him, it was his excitement of see what would be next for him. The sweat on his forehead which was like pearls decorating it, his hair which was now wet because of the hours the train and his clothing also wet because of the fluids.

When he finished, he just used a small amount of his energy to clean up his body, before he had all the sweat and wetness on his body and clothing.

"Well, it would be good to sleep a little bit more. Now that I finished my daily training." He said walking to his room.

Leonal seemed incredibly happy to get off the ship. He wasn't a fan of boats, and didn't plan to become one anytime soon. Once on shore he looked around at the others who had been on the boat with him. He wondered who he should hang out with since it was pretty boring traveling alone. In the end he just ended up standing there, all of them seemed pretty cool, but also kind of mean. Or at least the ones he spoke to were, they didn't seem interested in having his company around, he could not possible understand why though. He was cool, he could fight and he was friendly! He wasn't sure he'd ever understand immortals at this rate.

Raiden had spent his time working on his Soul Transformation upgrading it with all the experience(stamina) he had gained during the fight with Blackwater Clan and his prior brief bout with Issan. It wasn't an over the top upgrade that he made despite how long he had sat focusing on a ball of avatar matter molding it into its new design. He had just finished by the time Jad called for them to leave the ship. Raiden breathed in a sigh before getting out of bed and making his way up to the deck. He had not been on this ship long, but for Jad he expected this to be hard thing to do, leaving his own ship behind to cross the Badlands which were likely desert by the sound of the name.

He leapt off of the ship and stood by waiting for Issan. Jad only promised them passage to the Badlands, not passage through the Badlands. Maybe they should all stay together in case of Huntsmen trying to attack them along their journey. But maybe Issan had other plans, maybe some of that knowledge he has could prove useful, or to big a group of immortals would draw too much attention. Rajden was gonna leave this decision up to Issan in the end.

Acantha was on the deck staring at the horizon of the badlands as it grew closer, she was impressed with the geological landscape of it. Even further when she saw the large canyon that they'd have to navigate before a stone bride stopped the ship for further going through with the city in the distance. She used her strings to fly up onto the bridge and looked back at Astro and his team waiting/gesturing for him to get up. "We have a lot to do Astro! might as well start now!" She then turned toward the tunnel and started to walk up it without confirming Astro and his team were behind her.

"Yes, a lot of things to do." He then looked back at his other squad members. There 5 of them, all wearing brown cloaks.
"Scatter, bring us information and observe the town. Keep on contact." The 5 figures then nodded and then scattered throghout the city.
He then tapped his ear coms and contacted Acantha.
"Coming, I sent the squad ahead to scout all over the town." He then put his hood over his head and propelled himself to the bridge using his fire. He then began to walk towards the tunnels following Acantha.

There were three of them, roughly 10 feet tall, dressed in black robes and heavy spiked armour. Their skin was dark, their hair wild and untamed. Eyes black as the night, hinting at the terrible darkness inside them. The Titans grinned in primal pleasure, as they laid waste to the town, obliterating buildings with a simple hand gesture, sending a single ball of flame barreling into the side of a small tower, shattering it's foundations with an explosion of heat, sending it crashing down on the rest of the town. "Dere's a good one. Hold er' still." The tallest of the group snickered and stood back as another rushed forward, thrusting his hand forward, grasping the neck of a woman fleeing down an alley, and pushing her down onto into the sand. He grinned wildly, gaining a primitive feeling of satisfaction from overpowering a being so much weaker than himself. His hand glowed red, searing the flesh on her neck as he attempted to subdue her. He pulled the screaming mortal woman from the ground and threw her down once again, brutally, before the tallest of the group. "Was gettin' hungry.." He mumbled before suddenly pushing his hand deep into the helpless woman's chest, blood sprayed forth in gallons as he brought forth her soul, shining dimly as the life drained from her physical body. Then, the Titan proceeded to consume the soul of a Mortal, and as he did, his own soul became further and further infested with a darkness not meant for this world.

It wasn't natural for Immortals to have the ability to eat souls. It was only the secretive Huntsmen who had obtained this power, and even then it was unknown how they had obtained it. How these Titans are able to consume the souls of others is even more of a mystery..

After a few minutes of walking his ECD patched to the ECD of one of his agents. It should be urgent as they usually wait for them to meet up before reporting.
"Yes? Anything to report?" Astro Asked. He hoped that this was worth his time.
"Sir, be advised that there are three immortals 100 meters to your west. They seem to be consuming the soul of a woman. More details are unavailable." The agent reported.
"Thank you, I will be there right away. Inform the others and keep on watch." Consuming a soul. How is that possible? He has never heard of such before even from the records from their home planet. He must stop those immortals and prevent them from harming anymore people, but he may need more help. He will stall until help arrives.
He then launched himself to the air using his fire and flew towards the immortals. After they were on sight he launched a couple of fireballs towards them as a warning. Nothing special, he is confident that they would be able to stop that attack.

The tallest Titan looked up curiously at the figure in the sky, smirking with his face drenched in blood, finished with his meal of a single Mortal soul. "Ah? More rookies from Gold Harbour is it? They taste better than Mortal trash. We'll bring it to the boss, kill it." He laughed and pointed at the Immortal coming at them, leading the other two Titans to step forward in front of them, directly in the path of the oncoming fireballs. Their bodies caught fire in an instant, but not from the fireballs, this was their own energy; a raging flame that shrugged off the projectiles, tanking the damage as a method of showcasing their superior strength. Both of the cloaked figures then proceeded to clench their fists and toss balls of fire at the speedy Immortal, spheres of condensed fire which were set to explode in a blast of immense heat upon getting anywhere near their prey. Acantha was walking toward her destination of where a satellite scanner had said of an old ruin when Astro suddenly flew off to the city that was appearently getting assaulted by a few titans. Stopping, she put her finger to her ear; "Astro, disengage we aren't here to be heroes, that goes for you scouts." She was immediately followed with "Yes Ma'am"'s and she looked over at the city which Astro decided to go towards. There were zero incentives for them to help out the people of this world and there was practically nothing they'd gain other than unnecessary effort and pain. Kent Kent Rurnur Rurnur

Tsk. This was not part of their mission. He would just be wasting energy trying to fight for a dead woman. He had to disengage, but these titans may prove troublesome to them in the future. He countered the fireballs with his own fire. He then took something out of his pocket. A small ball like thing. He threw it at the immortals and it exploded in black smoke. A couple fireballs from him followed. He then flew towards Acantha's direction hoping they won't follow.
"Im coming back, I apologize." He said to Acantha using his ECD

The Titans brushed off the fireballs with a wave of their hands and frowned, discovering the Immortal's retreat. "Took im' about two seconds to realize he was out of his league, lesser Immortals are a joke." One of them laughed and watched the small figure darting away. "Pathetic, lets send em' a goodbye gift. Ready?" The Titans raised the hands in unison, forming a volley of red-orange, glowing spheres of concentrated flame. Then, in an instant, the massive force of projectiles rocketed off in the direction of the Immortal like fireworks, catching up to him quickly and surrounding him, the flames raging intensely, the accumulated strength of three Titans couldn't be ignored, even if the target was a flame user himself. "Hah, the boss wouldn't want to feast on a worthless coward like that anyways, lets finish off this town.." The taller Titan laughed before the group continued their rampage on the city, destroying buildings and plucking the mortals from the ruins, in order to devour their souls.

Osamu scoffed as Yoven mocked him. Like I'll need help from someone he's closer to death than I am. He said to himself. He closes his eyes as he tried to go back to sleep, but the voice of that Witch called out to him informing him that he should prepare himself. He growled. *uck! He yelled as he slammed his fist on one of the nearby sacks. He got to his feet and made his way out of his little corner tripping on his way out. He fell and hit his chin on the deck. He cursed again and got back up. He stomped his way upstairs grumbling to himself. He looks around for that Witch and finally spots her sitting on a rail. He walks over there and slams his hands down on the rail. You don't understand how bad I want to Spartan Kick you right now. When do we start this BS? He asked aggressively referring to the mission as bs. Rurnur Rurnur

The fire quickly caught up to him and surrounded him. It wasn't something to be ignored. His body exploded in blue fire and combined his own fire to the ones surrounding him. It was a mixture of blue and orange fire. The blue fire then began to consume the orange one until it finally disappeared.
"I am sorry Acantha, but I can't ignore innocent mortals getting killed." He was a captain of the army. He has a duty to protect those who couldn't and he must uphold that duty. He cannot turn a blind eye. He then flew past the immortals and launched a beam of blue fire towards them.
"Power is a blessing when it is used to protect the innocent."
He then stopped and blue orbs of fire formed behind him.
"and Power is a curse when it is used to harm the innocent." He then pointed his index finger at the immortals and the blue fire orbs went flying towards them.

As one of the Titans finished consuming a soul, he licked his lips and looked upwards at the tiny Immortal, making his "triumphant" return. He snickered and tossed the remains of the soul into the blackened sand beneath his feet. "You had the right idea before, boy. We planned to spare you, now don't expect that kinda' special treatment!" The man shouted and raised his right hand casually, forming a rounded shell formation of raging fire which covered the three Titans, protecting them from the barrage of unusual blue flame. "Make it quick. He'll just run off again if we don't grab him now. Don't let him mess with us." He ordered his subordinates, before pushing the formation away with a blast of flame, rushing outwards towards the Immortal in the sky. Simultaneously, the two other Titans launched themselves up into the sky with powerful jumps, rising in the air amidst the swirling flames, coming at the enemy from both sides. Immediately, they began firing off a barrage of flaming fists at an angle so as not to harm eachother, yet still aimed directly at the target. The "Leader" remained below, his eyes carefully trained on the Immortal, hungry to take his soul, an offering that would surely please him. Kent Kent

"Just listen, real carefully. You must at least be able to detect 'Darkness' in someone's soul, can you not?" Yoven questioned the rabid Huntsman, growing less impatient and moreover simply entertained by his antics. "I sincerely hope this isn't news to you, but I can't be sure. It's what makes us Hunters, what makes us Immortal. The difference between us and them, the rest of the Immortal races; our prey." She looked about the deck, satisfied as a majority of individuals had abandoned ship and made their way across the bridge, entering the tunnel leading to the town. "I don't know about you, but I can sense it already. Darkness, not in the souls of Huntsmen, but Titans, in this very town." She turned and looked out at the shining city, even from this distance, the damage done to it by powerful Immortals was obvious, black smoke could be seen in the distance, rising up from destroyed buildings. "I'll let you connect the dots. Look at you, you're barely anything more than a wild beast. Now imagine a Titan in your position. We survive off of manipulating and abusing the balance of power in this world, but if these ones are allowed to rise in number, there won't be any more hunting to do.. just war." Turning back to glare at the boy, hoping this would finally get through to him. "If you didn't get any of that, then just understand this: there's a group of Titans, infected with the same darkness we hold in our souls. Every last one of them needs to die, no exceptions." She sighed and climbed up onto the railing, her cloak and headress blowing in the wind. "We'll be following the path of destruction lead by these Immortals, in order to achieve our true goal. Now, do as you will." Yoven then jumped off the ship and landed lightly upon the stone bridge. "Remember who your enemies are. Prey comes after the mission is completed." The Elder The Elder

Acantha sighed as she watched Astro, the captain of their little Sildoran scout and survey team, went off to play hero. "And this is how idiots die" She said under her breath while rolling her eyes. She activated her armor and went off walking toward Astro and the titans. It wouldn't do good for a Sildoran to die under her command, perhaps when they get home she could court marshal him, the military wouldn't loose much,

Issan sighed and then decided to not just go to his room and sleep, he wasn’t even going to sleep, he went to the room that he picked up and took all his stuff to then put them on his green leather bag and walk upstairs to the deck. He made up his mind and decided to leave the party for good, maybe they were a good team, but he had to do his own pilgrimage and find for what he was made for or even find a way to be as great as his masters. With that purpose in mind he looked at the sea from the deck, sighing another time.

The thing was to tell his new partner about his departure, he knew that the guardians had to be together as they were the only ones there, or he felt that way since he didn’t felt any similar energy from the others. Raiden would be sad, but better tell him. Issan leapt off the ship to see that his partner was waiting for him, he was actually surprised about that as he thought that Raiden would be still sleeping.

“Raiden? Why are you here?” He asked, raising an eyebrow to the lightning guardian as he came closer to him.

Screams sounded from the clash between Titans and the lone Immortal, civilians scattered and evacuated the scene immediately, trying to avoid the carnage that would surely ensue. Numerous mortals noticed the approach of another stranger, who appeared to be heading straight towards the battle; many assumed she was an Immortal, as no Mortal in their right mind would be heading into such a dangerous situation. Some of them grabbed at her arms, begging and screaming for her to save them, to take them as far away from this city as possible. While others attempted to block her path, warning her of the danger the Titans presented, that there was no hope in defeating them. "Lady.. you don't wanna mess with them, get outta here and take us with you! We're begging you!" Petroshka Petroshka

Meanwhile, Jad sadly waved goodbye as the Gullinberst set sail once again, all the remaining Immortal passengers aboard had departed, leaving only the crew with their two new "engineers" prepared to work on the ship repairs. Not long after, the Titan took notice of the energy flunctuations taking place in town, more trouble already? Well, at least the journey wouldn't get boring, he thought. "Well then, lets go see what all the fuss is about, men." Jad said loudly before leading his clan towards the tunnel, then briefly looking back at some of the Immortals yet to head into town. "If you all get into trouble, don't be afraid to come lookin' for us. Got it?" He laughed briefly and began the short trip into town, excited to see what new challenges would await them. "Protect the Innocent, Defend the weak and Apprehend the oppressors" The blue fire around him grew brighter and bigger until it eventually formed a human like figure wielding a sword. A sword also appeared in Astro's hands. What astro does, the figure also does. Both of them sliced their swords mid air and projected a wave of cutting fire towards the flame fists. The fists were neutralized by the wave.Afterwards, Astro pointed his sword at one of the immortals and fire began to condense at the tip of the sword. He then fired a concentrated beam of fire at the immortal.

The target of the Immortal's next attack smirked and flipped his body in mid-air, dashing downwards with a blast of flame, using his fire energy to repel the attack, and at the same time using it's power to avoid it's range completely. While the first Titan dodged the attack, the other approached the Immortal from behind and grasped his leg with a burning hot grip, pulling him down and sending him hurtling back towards the earth. The two Titans landed safely, scorching the land around them as the three marauders encircled their prey, fierce eyes locked on their opponent, waiting to pounce. "Not bad, huh?" "Still not good enough. Maybe for a meal, but not a match, ehehe." "Did'ya hear? 'Protect the Innocent' he says.. where the hell did you think he came from? Ain't nobody innocent here, you're in the Badlands boy.. and this is our territory now. Don't fool yourself into think you're anything more than prey.." The three Titans chattered and mocked the Immortal, laughing and grinning in unison. Leonal looked over when and immortal spoke, and just waved, he would keep that in mind. He then wandered until he came across a fight between some immortals, and kept his distance, though having nothing better to do, he decided to watch them. He had nothing better to do anyways, so he watched, keeping his distance of course. He listened to their conversation as well. It seemed one was very interested in protecting people, and the other one, well, not so much.

Osamu hopped on the very rail Yoven was sitting on. He sighed as he sat through another lecture filled with criticism and doubts of Osamu's potential. It is a fact that he's a ravage beast, that'll prefer going into a battle head first and think later, but he has the skill to sense darkness. He allowed Yoven to speak without interrupting her waiting for her to get to the God forsaken point. Osamu leaps off the shiplanding a bit in front of Yoven. He looks back at her. You really could've save my flipping time by just saying "We're going to the smoke to find and kill two Titans tainted by darkness". But nooooo you just wanted to talk your ass off and criticize me again. Damn you remind me so much of my grandmother. I killed her so I wouldn't have to deal with this, but NOPE I gotta deal with it again. Come on granny let's go kill these Titans so I can go play. He finished his sentence with a Wild grin. The huntress ignored him, walking past and heading into the tunnel, gesturing for him to follow. "You really like to complain, don't you boy? Why don't you just listen and do your job? Maybe then you'd understand we're not going up against two measly Titans; they're a clan that has the entirety of the Badlands under lockdown. Get it through your head that you can't take all of them by yourself, hopefully we can actually make some progress that way." She slipped into the darkness of the tunnel, making her way into town. This would be a pain, but first things first, she'd need to see who's running things around here.. she was sure there wouldn't be weaklings in control of this town, considering how important of a location it is. Acantha made her armor have a smooth surface so the mortals hands simply slipped off when they tried to grab her. She didnt bother to look at them instead tearing the ground infront and beside hear to make them steer clear of her path. She was disgusted at the suffering but mostly at how desperate they were, still she felt no compassion nor hatred toward them only toward the ones who cause it. She quickly got to where Astro was, sorrounded by three of the titans, curiously she felt something wrong with them, something familar. Deciding to use her element of suprise she quickly shot six spiked tendrils at one of the from behind. Striking him in the limbs, torso and head. But that wouldnt be enough to kill one and the spikes quickly shot out smaller barbs tearing the insides of the overconfident titan. But just to make sure he was dead she pulled her self toward the titan flying in fast speeds and cutting him in half with a string blade. Landing beside 'Captain' Astro, she looked at him. "Don't expect a reward for this" Kent Kent Rurnur Rurnur
(Yeah yeah might be a little too OP but it was a suprise attack and it was to "even the odds" (even though i think there are more titans?) and to get where Astro was <3)
