Hello,

I was just curious to know what exactly badges are for and how they were rewarded? Are they exclusively granted to donators or are there other methods of obtaining them? Is there any benefit to having them (aside from how cute they are)? How difficult is it to acquire a badge?

Many of them are for donations, but there's also some for contest winners (and runners-up), being featured in the monthly newsletter as member or roleplay of the month, following our Twitter account, and a few others. We're planning on having more widely-available ones in future.

There is no benefit other than them being cute on your profile.

I have a brief followup question if you don't mind. How often are contests held (and when is the next one)?

There is no set schedule for the contests, they happen from time to time.
When they do, there is always a site-wide announcement so they're hard to miss
