Yanaba and Ulva fly to the southern water tribe to train in water bending by the white lotus. The are met by the aged chief of the tribe Tonraq, father of avatar Korra and adoptive grandfather of Ulva. He greets the two warmly and offers them to join him in a feast, the white lotus leader in the water tribe advices against it but the two girls agree to come with. The discover by tonraq that the fire nation are flouting the rules of their truce with the south by building bases in the contested island and possible doing it under Protectorate blessing despite the latter meant to enforce the truce.
They just arrived at the feast and are greeted by Rorrok who tries interrogate them about "The whirlwind", @ReverseWells character, however he was asked to step aside by Tonraq.
