The four nations previously lived in peace and harmony. The Southern Water Tribe, The Northern Water Tribe, Earth Kingdom, and Fire Nation.
Everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked.
Phoenix Lord Chee has risen through the ranks of the Fire Nation’s military throughout the years and controlled the nation with an iron fist. His dream of conquering the world was now set into motion. Chee had committed a genocide of the air nomads, to prevent them from stopping the Fire Nation as they waged war on the other nations. Thus, they started the conflict known as the Hundred Year War.
During this time, the Fire Nation occupied a lot of the cities and ports. They imposed very harsh rules on the people and restricted trade. The Fire Nation also established a navy to patrol the waters and make sure nothing they deem nefarious is happening.
After 80 years, Phoenix Lord Chee died from old age. His son Osmon took over the role of Phoenix Lord and continued to wage war on the four nations and get them to submit to him. But, everything would change as a new avatar would be born.
For years the Avatar has been missing when all of the nations needed them the most. War has been waged on by the fire nation, causing a life of violence and suffering for a lot of people. The new generation of benders have to grow up during this awful time period and have to deal with the terrifying reign of Fire Lord Osmon. The only one who can stop Fire Lord Osmon is the Avatar, and they are gone right now. But that changes as the Avatar appears suddenly out of the blue. It will up to team Avatar to form and help the Avatar train up to fight Fire Lord Osmon or risk the world falling to him. There will be friends and foes along the journey that will help or harm Team Avatar. Not everyone is so happy to see the Avatar back.
This roleplay will be an AU of the ATLA story and will have original characters. The locations will be the same though and some of the same story beats will still happen. The player who chooses the Avatar will choose how they appear in the world. Everyone will be important in Team Avatar as they will be needed to help the Avatar on their journey through the four nations. I am willing for players to craft various backstories about their characters, though if you want to be a Fire Nation royal you have to talk with me. Some things will be different in this story, such as the siege of Ba Sing Se lasting for about 5 months and Team Avatar having to fight Fire Lord Osmon's right hand general during it. I also will allow players to choose their role on the team and will not restrict them to anything. There will be six spots open for Team Avatar.

General Lao
He is the lowest general in the Fire Nation military chain of command. He will be summoned to hunt down the Avatar in the first arc of the rp. He is an incompetent man who shivers at the sight of his own shadow and hates fighting so he has others do it for him. After Ming's betrayal (My character), Lao will be frightened, and paranoia will take over his mind, leaving him vulnerable to be defeated. Although he is a cowardly man, Lao will burn down villages and be cruel to others he thinks are below him.
The Avatar (open)
Ming Xiong
A fire nation solider who is the GM's character and the de facto leader of Team Avatar. Ming is part of General Tao's battalion but is secretly a rebel in disguise and will do anything to help the Avatar.
Prince Zhao
Prince Zhao is the cruel Prince of the Fire Nation and will do anything to capture the Avatar. He will even have his own men killed if it means getting the Avatar where he wants them. He will of course follow his father Fire Lord Osmon's orders.
General Suzuki
Another general of the Fire Nation Army that is Osmon's lapdog. He is a lot more competent than Lao and poses more of a threat to Team Avatar. He will hunt them down during the Second Arc of the rp.
Fire Nation Princess (Open)
Kua
Kua is an Earth Bender loyal to the Fire Lord. He will try to capture the Avatar with his loyalists during the fourth arc of the rp. Kua is a fanatical follower of Osmon and will do anything to please him and gain favor. He will attempt to take over the Earth Kingdom with his loyalists.
General Kenjiro
He is the right-hand man of Phoenix Lord Osmon. He is a dangerous general and a powerful Fire Bender. His soldiers are the elites in the army. He will deal with Team Avatar during the fifth Arc and the siege of Ba Sing Se.

The final boss of the rp. He is the most powerful Fire Bender in the world and will need the Avatar to enter the Avatar state to beat him. He and Prince Zhao will fight Team Avatar during the Sixth and final arc of the rp.
