A victim of repetitive rape, Austria had developed an escape through Aussie whom she deemed as her imaginary friend. Having depended on the idea of being strong and defiant, Austria sought after strength both mentally and physically, but when she was unable to find it she turned to Aussie. The escape turned into a reality as she receded to the dark recesses of her mind. Unlike her, Aussie fought back. When the abuse continued and was later discovered, Aussie became more than an invisible form of support. Aussie became her.
Her abuser, her father, was imprisoned after the discovery. Her grandmother took care of her and took notice to Austria's fluctuating emotions, behavior, and memory. Two years ago, she was officially diagnosed with DID and discovered that she actually feared her counterpart.
Having been in and out of rehabilitation facilities, her grandmother released her into the care of Blackwell.

After having been told that he was unworthy of the family name and inheritance because of a minor slip up on an exam at a dinner party, Ryan punched his father square in the jaw. He threw a childish tantrum, making a mess of the buffet table, a few tables and chairs, and the guards who tried to restrain him. When the guards succeeded in rounding up Ryan, his father struck him. Days later, after the event, the news took it upon themselves to falsify the happenings. The populous of North Rhine, Germany believed the story of which states that Ryan had gone mentally insane due to drugs and potential abuse from his father. Enraged at the sudden looks sent to the family and his company, Victor threatened Ryan, but his son was tired. He talked back, fought back, and took on a rebellious attitude for months. It recoiled on him, bringing the reputation of the Kaiser family down within a year. Stocks fell and the future seemed bleak. Desperate to regain solidity and former reputation in society, Victor deemed his son insane after he'd succumbed to an intoxicated bar fight in Berlin, Germany. Victor admitted him to Blackwell.
