Appearance: Aurelia is slightly shorter than most mares, by about an inch. Her coat is a dark gray color and her hair is a dark purple color, with her eyes being the striking gold which is so common among bat ponies. Her wings are leathery and, well, bat-like. Her pupils are slitted. Her hair is done up with one long ponytail at the back and two shorter ones to the sides.
Backstory: Her years before joining the Night Guard are a complete mystery. Nobody knows where she came from or what drove her to join the Night Guard. What is known is that she has been with the Night Guard for roughly 8 years, and has been an exemplary recruit since her very first day. She excels in tracking criminals, getting information from them, and if push comes to shove, she can handle herself better than most.
However, somewhere around 2 years ago, she went through a devastating ordeal which left her completely closed down to the outside world. Those who knew her before the ordeal would say that she was a completely different pony. Where once she was lively, kind and always trying to help those in need, even helping criminals who she thought deserved it, now she was a bitter, cold and hard mare.
This eventually led to her being demoted from within the Night's Guard. She now serves as a 'bodyguard' for various ponies, whom the Night Guard captain assigns her too. They consider her 'unsafe' to put out on the street. Were you to meet Aurelia from 2 years ago, you'd never believe this was the same mare.
Special powers (specialization at a certain magic, etc.): As a bat pony, Aurelia's eyes can easily pierce any darkness except for magically created darkness. She is also the variety of bat pony which can feed on blood. When drinking blood in combat, she gains some minor combat bonuses.
Skills (technician, etc.): Highly trained in most forms of combat. An expert at investigation techniques and interrogation techniques. Aurelia's primary weapons are a dagger in her main hoof, her other hoof to block and set up strikes, and her teeth if they got close enough. She shuns weapons in favor of fighting with her hooves. She is good enough to easily disarm or kill several (5ish) skilled attackers at once.
