Welcome to the War Between Humans and Titans 
Hello, Everyone! Welcome to Attack on Titan. In this Roleplay, you'll all be playing as military requites training to face the Titans. You'll all be starting at the end of your second to last week of basic Titan training, a little over a week before your finals. Then you will all be able to pick what military division your character(s) will go into!

One hundred years ago, the Titans appeared. These terrifying monsters roamed the world, devouring men, women, and children alike with a mindless, incomprehensible desire. To protect themselves from the looming threat of extinction, humanity created a city of 50-meter-high walls. This successfully kept the Titans at bay, and for one hundred years an uneasy peace reigned…
…but the Titans were always at the gates, clawing and pounding at the walls, and humanity was reminded that the artificial peace was a delicate thing.
One evening the ground rumbled with the force of an earthquake. The people barricaded within the walls can only watch in terror as the muscled face of an enormous Titan looms over the 50-meter high wall. Moments later, the gate of the wall was kicked in leaving a large hole, and an army of Titans began to enter the city to begin wreaking havoc.
After the escape, any town folk who were lucky enough to get away from the destruction and rampage of the Titans were protected behind the secondary walls. Five years have passed since then and now a new group of young adults will be joining the Military so that in a few years they will be facing against the Titans.
These are the people we are putting our trust and lives into, to protect the walls from the Titans.

This will be following "mostly" along with the anime, with some different event's here and there to spice things up.
Note: This will be happening in an AU (Alternative Universe) from the anime and Manga, only a very select few of the previous characters will still be in the roleplay. Including the general and leaders of the three military divisions.
Now in case you don't know much about the area:

Wall Maria is the outermost Wall of the human kingdom. Like the other Walls, Wall Maria is approximately 50 meters in height. Five years ago, it was breached by the Colossus Titan and Armored Titan, after a century of peace and prosperity, it was lost to the Titans.
Districts:
As of right now the Shiganshina District to the south is the only known District in this area.
The Shiganshina District is a town located on the south edge of Wall Maria. The district is built within an outcrop of Wall Maria. Since Shiganshina is located to the south, Titans usually came to this districts Walls in an attempt to consume humans but were only able to break through in the year 845 because of the 60 meters high Colossus Titan.

The current commander is Hange Zoë.
The Survey Corps is the branch of the Military most actively involved in direct Titan combat, Titan study, human expansion, and outside exploration. They have the best soldiers (not to be compared with the Top 10 who joins the Military Police Brigade) and are the most skilled in using the vertical maneuvering equipment. But, despite having little success, they still symbolize the "hope of mankind" with their insignia being known as the "Wings of Freedom". They hope that someday, their efforts will change the world and they will be able to recover what has been taken away from humanity.
Duty(s): This Military division is in charge of the exploration and the eventual reclamation of human territory from Titan-infested lands through the act of setting up small bases, camps, resupply stations, and extra fortifications in available areas outside the Walls. This branch of the military has by far the highest death rate. Prior to the breach of Wall Maria by the Colossus Titan, they explored the land outside of the Wall, though never getting very far due to the heavy casualties suffered from Titan attacks.
A more recent unofficial duty has been Titan observation and research. Given the safer nature of exploring within Wall territory (since Titans can only enter the Wall at one point), a wealth of information has been revealed such as their tolerance of pain, sunlight dependence, and intelligence.
Structure: The Survey Corps is the smallest branch of the Military in terms of membership, originally with an overall size of around 300 soldiers. This already-limited number of volunteers is made less and less by commonplace deaths and an infamy surrounding the body count that frightens most away from joining. While 300 is a common headcount for membership in the Survey Corps, there have been several occasions where expeditions took place with around only 100 soldiers.
The Survey Corps was divided into 10 teams, each led by a team leader. Each team leader answers to the squad leaders, who in turn answer to the commander. Team 1, led by the senior team leader, is in charge of reconnaissance on expeditions, while Teams 8 through 10 act as logistics units who carry supplies for the expedition.
Their stables also include a total of 600 specially-bred horses, including reserves. These horses are noted to be exceptionally valuable and bred for great speed, stamina, and calm temperament.
