[div class=bkgd][div class=shadow][/div][div class=ghost][/div][div class=textcont][div class=text]No more than two hours had passed since the commencement of preparations for the arrival of Hogwarts' guests before Smelda, the mother-hen of house elves, plopped down with a disgruntled scowl.

"With everyone running around and screaming like Mandrakes, Smelda might as well Apparate to every room!" the house elf huffed, crossing her arms over her chest. "However, Headmaster McGonagall still wants Smelda to show the school off to Mr. Daily Prophet, so that is what Smelda will do. Follow closely, Sir...

"All of Hogwarts' housing arrangements have been adapted to suit the needs of the incoming wizards. Impeccably polished windows and crisp new linens are what Hogwarts is all about, after all! Forgor and Teelee are the upstanding elves who took care of that, since Smelda hates scrubbing glass.

"To preview the welcome ceremony, Smelda requests that Mr. Daily Prophet take her hand. And... easy does it... the majestic Entrance Hall, prepared especially to make the foreigners feel at home! Flower petals flurrying from the ceiling, marble sculptures to commemorate each student's origin school, and only the best Hogwarts welcome from the entire school's staff.

"Coming up is the Great Hall, which Smelda is positive Mr. Daily Prophet knows all about. This is Smelda's favorite part of preparations! The kitchen elves prepared all sorts of dishes for the occasion, since Hogwart's has never hosted such a diverse crowd before. Smelda knows the guests will certaintely find the meal to their tastes!"

Smelda's ears perked up as she glanced towards the windows, a nervous yet beaming smile tugged at her lips. "Smelda can hear hoofbeats outside. Mr. Daily Prophet may want to snag a good seat, since it seems our guests have arrived!" And with a squeal of excitement, the respected house elf skipped down the hall, high-fiving another elf on the way.

With only a matter of minutes left before the storm petrel awaiting him threw a fit of impatience, Shen calmly latched his satchel shut and waved farewell to his peers, who were not-so-subtly watching him with their faces pressed against the windows of Mahoutokoro's common rooms. When news had spread that he'd been chosen to represent their school at Hogwarts' study abroad event, countless students had flocked to him requesting he gather all sorts of information about the European world, from "what do they wear to sleep?" to "is it true that they can fly at any time and to any place?" (Shen scoffed at that one, but humored them nonetheless).

The giant storm petrel narrowed her eyes at Shen as he approached and soothed her with a gentle caress of her neck, still irritated but ducking down regardless so he could climb on her back, and soon enough they had begun the journey to the wizard who would be transporting him to Hogwarts. There was no one at Mahoutokoro available at the time able to properly guide him through the foreign territories of Europe, so Headmaster Matsunaga arranged a trusted colleague to take him under his wing, an eccentric man named Amai Ryo who conveniently also spoke Mandarin and worked in the Hidden Archives. Shen didn't really care either way; he was just glad to receive the opportunity.

The trip took no more than an hour, Di-Di chirping happily in his pocket as the storm petrel soared over the terrain of Minami Iwo Jima and finally settled next to a torch-lit cave entrance burrowed in the side of a mountain. Shen's skin itched from the heavy exposure to sunlight, but it wasn't anything he couldn't handle. Despite the eerie ambiance of the desolate location, a older gentleman grinned up at him from where he sat hunched over a book, his kind features accentuated by the laugh lines around his eyes.

"Welcome!" The man greeted in Mandarin as Shen hopped off the giant storm petrel and did a full bow. Amusingly enough, the massive creature bowed her head as well. "Oh, my, it's been so long since someone so young visited!" he chimed in Japanese out of nowhere, pleasantly surprised by the deep bow as he ducked his own head in return. "My name is Amai Ryo, but you can drop the formalities. Everyone just calls me Ryo."

Shen nodded, albeit rather slowly as he attempted to process the sudden onslaught of words. "Ryo...hakase," he mumbled, wrinkle forming between his brows as he tried to get used to calling someone so much older than him by their first name. Ryo merely laughed at the formal honorific and placed a hand on Shen's shoulder, giving it a squeeze.

The two exchanged pleasantries for a while longer before Ryo tossed the giant storm petrel a dead salmon and sent her on her way. Shen received a nearly two hour long crash course on British culture, from etiquette to cuisine to slang terms (he was luckily fluent in English due to his own self-studying, therefore cutting the original lesson in half), before he was finally set to step foot into the Hidden Archives' own entry to the Floo Network.

Inhaling a metric ton of dust, nearly vomiting from Apparating next to the grounds, and entirely freaking out because Di-Di was no longer in his pocket left Shen in a far worse mood than he had begun the day in. Ryo reassured him that the Hoo Hoo was fine—likely, she had been left behind during the Side-Along Apparition due to her nature as a magical creature, and she'd catch up in due time. This did little to placate him, but Shen took a deep breath and sucked it up, figuring there wasn't much time to worry about his little friend when he was standing in front of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Before he could get another word in, however, Ryo had Disapparated and a skyscraper of a man had taken his place. Shen's eyes widened at the sight of such a large wizard, who didn't seem entirely human to his untrained eye. "Welcome, welcome! Ye must be the lad from Mahoutokoro we wer' honored to invite!" he bellowed, causing the boy used to Japanese volumes of speech to wince back. "My name's Rubeus Hagrid. Ey'm the Keeper of Keys and Grounds of Hogwarts. Ye'll be seein' a lot of me, so keep yer eyes peeled and don't be scared to ask 'how ye do'!" Hagrid pointed ahead towards the towering doors marking the entrance of Hogwarts and gently nudged Shen forward. "Go on now—they're waitin' for ye!"

Nervous to the core yet externally calm, Shen wasn't prepared for the remarkable sight that awaited him once he stepped foot through those wooden doors. The Entrance Hall was beautiful, adorned with all sorts of floating artwork and winding leather flower vines that reminded him so vividly of the gardens back home. It was obvious they had tried their best to make the welcome ceremony personal to each guest, while still showcasing signature details from the other wizarding schools around the globe. What initially seemed like rose petals fluttering down from the ceiling transformed into pink cherry blossoms as soon as Shen paid attention to them, nearly bringing tears to his eyes at the fond memories they brought. 'These wizards are magnificently bold,' he thought to himself, no malice behind the words as he gazed on peacefully at the beautiful display.

By the time he was seated in the esteemed Great Hall, Shen's sour mood had completely flipped on its head. Gone was the trepidation and weariness, and in its place stood sheer awe and childlike giddiness for what his near future held. With a little bit of luck on his side, Shen prayed that only pleasant times were in store as he soaked up every last bit of knowledge he could during his time at Hogwarts.

[div class=textinformation]rouched lowly in the grass behind the bushes, the young seer hoped the Abraxan winged-horses grazing in the pasture on the other side of the fence couldn’t hear her. The moonlight shined in the cloudless sky and beamed down in the field as Reyna made her around as effortlessly and quietly as she could. The young female wasn’t used to ‘sneaking’ around. However, she didn’t consider herself a goody-two-shoes for sure. But if she did blame someone or some things for her madness, it was her wanderlust, wildly active imagination, and intuition. Ever since she could remember, she dreamt of the Scottish Highlands with its massive invisible-cloaked castle surrounded by both forest and lakes. However, as excited as Reyna felt about gazing at the Gothic-like architecture of Hogwarts, her stomach dropped. Frozen in fear of being caught, Reyna accidentally stepped on a branch that alerted the animals. She stood-still in her spot as she calmed her nerves, catching her breath. As lightly as she could, Reyna turned to look over her shoulders, her eyes making contact with one of the Abraxans. With a small neigh as the horse shook her head, Reyna pleaded with the older creature to keep her secret and stay silent, fingers to her lip in a shushing motion. In an almost echo-like manner, her father's firm voice filled her head. “Times changed, Reyna. Even if the Twelve Schools united, educating one another every five years, my concern strengthens. Your night terrors lessened when we left the Isles of the Sky. We have allowed you to roam where you pleased. For your mom's sake, will you drop this notion?" Holding back the tears threatening to spill from her eyes, Reyna felt her heart shatter once more when she recalled her parent's adamant rejection of her proposal to attend Hogwart's foreign exchange program. It was the first time she felt despair and loneliness since her parents usually supported her decisions. However, what Reyna couldn't understand at the time was that there would be more consequences and challenges she would face in the future. Without hesitation, Reyna quickly said her good-byes to her Abraxan companions and ran across the field and into the forest not wanting to delay any longer. Luca waited for her at their designated location in the middle of the jungle. As she took in the blooming plants surrounding her every gaze, it didn't take long for her to navigate through to find Luca. Once Reyna saw him, all worries left as small gleeful laughter escaped her lips. "Luca!" She whispered loudly, calling him as she neared his silhouette. Reyna was practically bouncing in excitement as she couldn't believe what she was doing. "This... It's my first time outright disobeying them." Reyna took a breath. "Thank you. For being here and coming with me." Reyna smiled up at him before placing her hand over his, nodding her head as she took another breath. "Let's go!"
With one fell swoop, the two apparated to Hogwarts. To say she felt sick to her stomach was an understatement but the adrenaline coursed through her veins. Almost falling forward, Reyna attempted to quickly balance herself as she leaned against a wall. Taking a moment, Reyna stood to the side while other students passed. Although she missed the greetings from the groundskeeper, Reyna smiled softly at those who glanced her way. She figured she could introduce herself to others when she felt more.. at home. Finding herself more comfortable by the side of the wall, Reyna felt the bricked walls against her palm as she gently glided her fingers across the texture of the building while she maneuvered her away around the castle. Mesmerized by the sight that greeted her, Reyna's mouth gaped open as she gasped loudly. The magic was astonishing! The green-colored leaves of the plants seemingly sparkled as she took in the view. Floras and faunas embraced her silhouette as she allowed herself a minute to take in the scenic pathway. It reminded her of home and the touch of warmth filled her skin as if the sun shrouded her in a warm blanket. Vines filled the archway as she noticed the different fruits. Curious, Reyna lightly tugged on the root before grabbing the blueberry for her and Luca. However, the sound of small chirping of birds and cat-like noises filled her ears as she looked around, thoroughly elated to see her kneazle companion. How she managed to sneak-in with them was beyond her and Reyna decided to brush aside the technicalities. Once Reyna found herself passed the Entrance Halls to the Great Hall, the floating candles made her giggle. However, feeling sudden stares towards her, Reyna tilted her head curiously before leaning towards where she believed Luca stood. "Are.. are they staring at us... or?" She began only to realize the male next to her was no more. Eyes widening, Reyna laughed, "You know how to make an entrance!" She exclaimed, taking in his full animagus form - a regal lion. To others, it would perhaps look like a strange occurrence, a petite witch standing next to a full-grown lion with a small kneazle at her ankle. "Oh, phooey, Luca." She sighed, before gentle petting his coat as it was smooth to the touch. However, as Reyna gently brushed Luca's coat with her hand, her eyes scanned her surroundings only for her brows to knit together in wonder. Taking note of the black and emerald garment she's only seen in photographs and mailed letters, Reyna blinked back her surprise as she moved around Luca to get a better look at the male. "S-shen?" She gasped in surprise, not fully recognising him. "Is.. is that you?"
