Small Tentacle #1 uses Wrap Around on Hughin. Hughin is stunned for a turn!
Small Tentacle #3 uses Wrap Around on Da'Vost. Da'Vost is stunned for a turn!
Small Tentacle #4 uses Wrap Around on Arnas. Arnas is stunned for a turn!
The rain and thunder continued to assail the area as Hughin, Arnas and Waylond made their way over to the large tentacle wrapping itself around the bow of the ship and began to attack is, scoring a series of deep cuts and jabs into the beast's tendril that caused the creature to release another shrill roar that pierced the air. Da'Vost and Eirana would land their own magical attacks onto the corrupted tentacle at the stern of the ship, with Da'Vosts Aetherbolt chaining over to one of the smaller tentacles and burning it severely. Yet the monster would respond as it sent its smaller tendrils to incapacitate those that were harming it, which meant that Arnas, Hughin and Da'Vost were it's primary targets. The tendrils slithered over and wrapped themselves around the three and lifted them off the deck, grasping on them tightly to prevent them from properly moving.

The last smaller tentacle darted over to try to pluck Eirana out of the sky, but a straight shot from Zakala hit a weak point and took it out of commission as it fell back into the waters. Eidunn and Cain would land blows on the tentacle that had wrapped around Da'Vost while Sharad would deliver a deep cut onto the one that had picked up Arnas. As the other's joined in to attack, their blows would not be as successful as those before them. Drokos and Invira's attacks would simply bounce off a section of the normal tentacle's hardened skin while Aureal's fireblast dissipated in the heavy storm weather before it could reach its target. Krasso's sling would also miss its mark as it attempted to hit the tentacle that had lifted Hughin up into the air.

Up in the air, what Hughin did notice was that the two large tentacle wrapping themselves around the ship were starting to increase their grip. The sounds of splintering wood and cracking could be heard as the two tentacle wrapped themselves around the vessel even tighter, intent on breaking the vessel apart. Hughin, although struggling to properly speak, cried out as best as he could: "It's trying to rip the barge apart!"

Waylond continues to hack at the tentacle. If it's allowed to keep it's grip on the ship for longer, then they will all end in a watery grave.

The Aervis let out a distressed caw as he was grappled and lifted up, the Aether burning bright in his palms as he tried to scald the tentacle wrapped about him with his magic. Though it would appear that it was quite difficult for him to reach the offending limb, and he was completely immobilized while he was kept aloft by the monster. He glanced down to Lanya to make sure she was keeping safe, balling his hands into fists as he struggled to get down.

Aureal's flame was quickly dissipated due to the weather as he stared at it, dumbfounded. That was stupid of me. Let's try this one more time. The Elf thought as he prepared another attack, opting for another element. Aureal focused on his surroundings, gathering the forceful wind from the storm and combining it with his own to amplify his next attack. Raising his hands once more, he let out a flurry of wind-like blades to the corrupted tentacles in front of him in a hurry.

After a successful hit, Cain begins to aim for the same small tentacle wrapping around his ally once again. Tightening his grip on his rapier, he begins to give another fast yet decisive slash at it.

Eirana narrowed her eyes as one of the tendrils missed her narrowly. Upon hearing Da'Vosts caw she ascended briefly before dive-bombing towards the Aervis, intending to free him with one swift strike. As she began to accelerate downwards her blade began to glow brightly as if it was made out of the sun itself.

I knew this was a bad idea to enter in the lair of the wretched sea king, The Satyr thinks as he readies his axe to strike again at the flailing monster before him. However, he notices the captain in a state of peril and moves swiftly to try and get him out of the monster's grasp. "Die you foul beast of the most wretched of gods! Die and go back to your master!" He shouts as he swings at the giant tentacle.

Snarling in frustration, she turned at the sound of her companions being drawn up by the beast and floundered for a moment, blinking away rain. But she'd been trained to be decisive in battle and, seeing those wrapped up by the smaller tentacles already getting helps, at the sound of the ship starting to crack and splinter under the enormous pressure of the tentacle she dove once more for the uncorrupted tentacle trying to bring down the ship. There was no finesse as she didn't know the anatomy of a kraken the way she did a normal person and there was no hiding on the deck of a ship, but there was speed and fury and it had to count for something.

As the smaller tentacles kept three of the company restrained and up in the air, several members of the company attempted to come to their aid. Da'Vost was freed successfully after a stab from Cain and a slice from Eirana fully cut off the tentacle from the rest of the Kraken's body, leading to the Aervis to less than gracefully land back onto the main deck on the barge. Krasso delivered a large blow to the tentacle holding Hughin aloft, which led to it slamming Hughin onto the main deck of the barge in a painful thud before Zakala could properly get a shot off onto the tentacle itself. The same happened with Arnas as Sharad landed a blow onto the tentacle holding the young man as well. Both men grunted as pain wracked their bodies from the hard impacts, but were otherwise fine as they recovered.

As Waylond and Invira landed more deep blows onto the normal tentacle and Aureal landed a strong hit with his spell on the corrupted one, the Kraken roared once more and continue to squeeze the barge tighter which caused the vessel to continue creaking and splintering in multiple areas of the boat. As the battle against the sea monster raged on, Lanya ran over to Aervis with a worried look on her face: "Are ye alright Vost?" she asked with a near panicked tone. "Tha barge is breakin'! I wan ta help!"

"Hold your ground!" Yelled Eirana, her voice echoing across the waters. As Da'Vost was successfully freed the Elf refocused her effort on the corrupted tentacle, slicing and hacking at it while flying around it in a whirlwind of white and gold colors.

Having successfully freed the captain the Satyr moves to attack the larger tentacles cursing all the way and praying that the Missing God give him strength to overcome this calamity.

Unable to hit the larger tentacle due to its movements, Drokos decided to refocus her attacks on one of the smaller tentacles. With those dispatched, the group could then hopefully eliminate the larger ones before the barge was destroyed.

The Fateseeker grunted as he was finally released from the beast's grasp, holding his chest in pain as he righted himself and stood to his feet. His head swiveled back and downward as he saw Lanya, glad that she was keeping safe. "I still breathe, and with that the Aether still flows." Da'Vost rasped, beginning to spread his arms as he conjured more blue flames. "Try and keep yourself safe..! If the barge does break, be ready to help those of us who may not be able to swim to safety!" he urged his pupil, not having taught her any applicable knowledge to aid them in taking down the kraken.

He tossed yet more bolts of magic at the corrupted tentacle, scalding it with the powers of the cosmos.

A big roar left the Kraken signaling that their attacks were effective. With that in mind, Aureal continued on firing barrage of spells to the Corrupted tentacle. Hopefully they get the tentacle out of the way as soon as possible so the Utterlins can safely evacuate.

That tentacle just won't die! It's time for some more drastic measures as things aren't looking good. Sharad takes off his horned helmet and puts it over his free hand. With his sword in one hand, and his horned helmet in the other, he bashes and smashes as hard as he can to finally kill this thing.

As Hughin went in for another attack normal tentacle, he was swiped at by one of the smaller tentacles and hit straight in the chest. As he fell back a few feet, he felt the wind knocked out of him as he struggled to breath as well as get up on his feet again. As a response, Zakala threw out another shot at the smaller tentacle and hit it straight in the center of its mass as Drokos went in for the killing blow by chopping it cleanly through. Sharad would also manage the brutalize the remaining small tentacle as he stabbed and bashed it with both sword and helm as hard as he could, taking off meaty chunks from the tentacle until is withered and fell back into the waters.

With the loss of its smaller tentacles that had been used to attack the barge, the kraken roared in agony again as its larger tentacles continued to squeeze and wrap around the barge. As it did so, several planks on the top deck visibly cracked and broke apart along with more noises of shattering and breaking in other areas not visible to the Company. These tentacles were doing serious damage to the vessel, and soon it would not be seaworthy in any capacity. With this in mind, several members of the company resumed the offensive as they stabbed or launched magic attacks at either of the large tendrils. A cacophony of attack spells from Eirana, Da'Vost and Aureal managed to do some significant damage to the corrupted tentacle as their blows burned, cut, and blasted it. Meanwhile, Arnas and Krasso would hit a tougher part of the normal tentacle and fail to do anything other than surface damage while Waylond and Invira scored a deep slice each into it.

Lanya - 10; Critical Success

It was clear that the barge was in extreme peril at this point, and Lanya was scared out of her mind as the scene around her unfolded. She tried to imitate Da'Vost to see if she could try something, anything, to help push back the creature. But nothing happened as she extended her arms out towards the kraken and quickly motioned to them as if she were casting a spell. Frustrated, she could feel tears coming down her eyes as she watched the barge start to break. As the storm now became a full fledged typhoon, making the sea more treacherous than ever, she dropped to her knees and clasped her hands together in both desperation and panic as she sought refuge with asking a prayer to Octis, the god of her people. Please, help us. she thought with fear and worry, We need ya now more than eva, o' god of ta waters." Perhaps it was futile as, as expected, nothing happened. The fighting continued and everything continued to look grim.

But then, another rumbling was heard that didn't come from the kraken. The waters a distance away from the barge began to seemingly bubble upwards in a violent manner before bursting outwards in a violent manner to reveal a massive, towering figure that seemed to share similar features to a human but was very much different in many other ways. Wielding a large, obsidian trident and adorned with gold markings on his body along with corals, barnacles, and many other sea creatures seemingly sprouting from his skin and his hair as smooth and dark like black algae, it seemed to reign in a steed made entirely of water as it faced the kraken and laughed aloud:

"YOUR PRAYERS ARE ANSWERED, MORTALS! FACE ME, MY FORMER SERVANT! BACK TO THE ABYSS WITH YOU! THE LORD OF THE SEAS COMMANDS YOU!" the being roared as it charged the kraken, spearing it in the side and causing it to release the barge in its entirety. The violent storms now carried the barge as practically everyone looked in awe at the scene unfolding between them. The stuff of legends it seemed now come to life as a story meant for the books played out, a monstrous being of the deeps fighting a god. The kraken roared as it tried to lash out at the Ocean Master with its normal tentacle, only for it to be grabbed by the deity and ripped off from the creature in its entirety. Pungent slime and blood spewed out of the creature and into the waters as it roared in both horror and agony before lashing out with its corrupted tentacle, hitting the god and sending him flying back. As he regained his balance atop the waters, he charged the beast one more with trident aimed before him and spared the creature right through its main body.

Yet in his recklessness he failed to realize what had happened to the creature in its entirety as what seemed to be the killing blow only seemed to make the creature start to glow and burn brightly in a putrid green light as it seemed to convulse and pulsate. The god's eyes grew wider with surprise and apprehension as he start to comprehend what exactly was happening. As he tried to remove his trident from the creature, he grunted with anger: "Such horrendous power, how can this be-?" was all he could get out as the kraken exploded violently in an explosion of corrupted power, sending the god flying back both stunned and wounded horrendously with burns and back into the oceans as the explosion rippled throughout the area before coalescing back in and creating a monstrous whirlpool that glowed a sickly green as it drew the barge into its maw.

"EVERYONE, HANG ON!!!" Hughin yelled out as he and the rest of the company grabbed onto whatever sturdy thing they could find whether it be railing, rigging, or twine, while Lanya rushed over to Da'Vost and clinged onto him tightly. The maelstrom seemed to have no bottom as it approached closer and closer before sending the barge into its depths and blinding everyone with bright green lights and flashes before going dark entirely...

Da'Vost: 1d6 = 4; An Ominous Vision
As everything went dark, Da'Vost's vision returned to another scene entirely. It seemed alien in its entirety, as he couldn't recognize it as anything from the mortal world at all. It seemed as if he was in the very maw of hell itself as the landscape was broken, charred, and nearly devoid of life. He could spot horrible creatures in the distance, marching towards a portal of sorts yet he could not make out what they were or where they were going. Yet he knew one thing, whatever these were... they were preparing for war. As he walked among the ruins of a broken world, the Aervis noticed that nothing seemed to take notice of him, nor were any actually knowing of his existence here in the first place as if he were immaterial.

He continued to walk before coming up on a cliffside and looked down below in horror, for there were seemingly endless amounts of these creatures all waiting to leave this place and head to the next. And stood above them all atop a great cliff was a shadowy figure, observing them all as a general would take notice of their armies before war. And then it turned its attention to the Aervis, its gaze overflowing with anger and righteousness as it raised a wicked sword and pointed it towards Da'Vost:

"YOU CANNOT STOP DESTINY, FATESEEKER."

CHAPTER 1
ON STRANGE TIDES

The beach was rather peaceful as a mild overcast of cloudy skies kept the scene relatively peaceful as gentle waves lapped onto the shores. In the distance, a crow cawed out as it flew overhead to join the rest of its murder and made its way over the shoreline. Down below, there was a scene of the top half of the barge that had been practically pulled off of the rest of it and cast to these unknown shores now along with a multitude of bodies that lay on the ground unconscious. The first to wake up was Arnas as he coughed up seawater from his lungs and took a deep gasp of fresh air into himself. He was soaking wet, tired, and aching all over as he groaned in pain while sitting on his bum to take in the view. He was confused, for this didn't seem like home at all: the coastline had silky, warm sands to it and the nearby shrubbery and forests looked nothing like those of the Riverlands. And worse still, half the barge was missing and so was the entirety of the Utterlin crew it seemed.

Arnas slowly got up, wincing at his body's overall pain as he walked over to check on the others as they layed strewn about on the beach. The first he came to was Zakala who, after some nudging and gentle slapping on the face, woke up to cough up seawater as well. Gasping for air, she couldn't really speak much as she lay there on her back. Her eyes did give a wordless thanks to Arnas as he gave off a sigh of relief. "Don't die on me now, will you Zee?" he said in minor jest, which prompted the demoness to roll her eyes. Next, Arnas came across Hughin who required a large slap on the head to be woken up. The captain in his disorientation looked around in confusion for a moment before looking to his son: "You're alive Arnie? Thank the gods." he said with relief as he sat up and looked around.

"Yeah... where are we?" Arnas asked with apprehension, almost expecting a bad answer to come from Hughin. The man only looked at Arnas and gave him a shrug, which was almost just as bad. Arnas took a look around and then gave off a weak laugh: "Maybe... this is Pengiros?"

"I don't know, but I'm sure we'll find out soon enough." Hughin replied as he got up onto his feet. "Help Zee up, I'll wake everyone else." As Arnas walked over to Zakala to help her out, Hughin went about to waking up the rest of the Company one by one where they lay.

The cawing of crows stirred Eidunn from here slumber, the breeze blowing through her snow-covered hair. She rolled over, begining to palm yye sand out from her eyes and face. A hard pounding in the back of her head sealed her eyes back close, her teeth gritting together. She watched as the murder flew past her vision, the sounds of Arnas and Hughin replacing the birds. She let out a loud cry, trying to push herself up.

"Whoa, easy now lass." Hughin spoke as he approached Eidunn, taking a knee to her and looking to see if she was hurt. "Anything broken or cut open on you?" he asked with concern.

"Head" she mumbled, keeping her eyes locked shut. She felt the back of her head, a sharp pain shooting through her as her fingers brushed the wound. "Fucking magic..." she muttered, pulling her hand back, her finger tips blood red.

Nearby, laying under a few boards from the barge, the Morganthi demoness stired slightly. She then out a groan, pushing the debris off of her and rolling over to cough up sea water. Disgustingly salty. She eventually pushed herself up to her knees, sitting back on her legs and looking about in a daze.

After a few moments, she her eyes suddenly snapped wide. Her head frantically moved about, searching for something as her eyes darted from one place to another. And then she found it. Her weapon, jutting up at an angle on the beach near the waves. Half buried in the sand. She calmed herself upon seeing it, before looking grunting heavily as she forced herself to stand.

She was in pain, but it was something she had become accustomed to early in life. The pain would dull and fade, like it always did. For now, she needed her weapon. She limped down the beach to the waters, pausing at the shaft of the poleaxe and grasping onto it. And with a single jerk, it came loose from its sandy trap.

She looked up, peering at the murder of crows above as she held her hand up to block some of the bight sun's light. With a grumble and shake of her head, she changed her focus. Turning her attention to her fellow, less-than-friendly demoness a short distance away. "...Still alive, Zakala? Surprising." she said.

"Ah, we'll have to get that patched up soon..." Hughin said as he took a look at the wound on Eidunn's head for a moment. It wasn't particularly too deep, but it did need some cleaning. "Alright well, don't try to move too much. You might have a concussion... nasty business that is."

As Drokos made her comment to Zakala as she was being helped up to walk by Arnas, she shot a glare over to Drokos and was about to shoot a rebuttal before Arnas interjected: "Listen, we just survived... gods know what. We can go five whole minutes with you two arguing for the time being, yeah?" Arnas spoke to Drokos before looking to Zakala. The demoness only grunted in response as she wasn't really in the mood to talk all that much with the pain that hit her chest. The two walked a small distance to get away from the sands and onto the nearby grasses before Arnas helped Zakala sit down. He then made his way over to Drokos and looked for ever: "You seem alright, are you?" he asked.

"You seem alright, are you?"

Drokos nodded. "I will be fine. The others need assistance, however." she replied, motioning about. She then looked up at the half of the barge. Where was the other half? And the utterlins? Her eyes studied the wreckage, before shifting to the treeline. "We may not be alone here, so I would suggest vigilance." she said, limping a bit towards the grasses herself.

"Thank you," she mumbled, reaching down to feel the small bag she had tied to her side. A flood of relief washed over her as she felt the fabric. I told you, Eida, but once again, you ignore me, ple-. she stuttered for a second, questions flying through her head, before she let out a small cry as fabric touched the back of her head. "How many others... Made it?" She asked, wincing once again.
