Story So Far

Chapter One: The Age of the Gods

The world began full of magic and all things supernatural even before the first of mankind drew breath. Beings from other realms and dimensions as well as beings born on the Earth itself dominated the world. Mankind was brought into this world and became a part of this world of the Supernatural. However during the Age of Man, slowly but surely overtime mankind prospered and the Supernatural began a steady decline for many reasons. Gradually most things Supernatural disappeared from the face of the Earth whether they went to various realms and dimensions connected to the Earth or just simply hid in the world veiled by human skepticism and logic. Eventually the Age of Gods simply became myth and legend, vanishing barely leaving any traces or remnants.

Chapter Two: The Age of Man

Mankind developed through the use logic, reasoning and most of all science. The more humans advanced in the fields of science, the more advanced the world they live in became. However, mankind also used these advancements to fight amongst themselves using increasingly more destructive weapons and technology. Mankind also began to truly test the limits of the Earth’s resources. Science and technology had come to create more problems than it was able to solve. The Earth was stuck in a downwards spiral towards its end, set off by World War III.

Chapter Three: The 2nd Renaissance

World War III brought the world to the brink of destruction but alas, the total destruction of the world was avoiding. This was thanks to a secret society of scientist who came to be known as the Ars Magi. These scientist sought to create or rather re - create the miracles of magic through science and human evolution. By the time of World War III mankind has evolved to being able to use more and more of its brain capacity, the Ars Magi took advantage of that to create a new age form of magic Ars Mundus. The Ars Magi for a time took control of the world and set it down a brand new course by spreading the gift of Ars Mundus.

Much of the world adopted Ars Mundus and the technology of the old age came to be something most of the world frowned upon. The technology of the old age was phased out and replace with new Ars Mundus based tech. Ars Mundus began to revolutionize the world, this period of time became known as the 2nd Renaissance.

Chapter Four: The Resurgence

Almost a century after the 2nd Renaissance, an event known as the Resurgence occurred. A night when the Moon has turned gold and golden meteors rain down upon the Earth. Some meteors impacted while others seemingly disappeared or did things just as odd. These weren’t giant lumps of space rock but rather from the meteors that impacted and were recovered it is clear these were crystalline meteors, allegedly carrying powers and items sent from beyond the realm of Earth. Not too many of these meteors could be accessed but rumors claim that certain individuals obtained great power from them. The meteors and what they possibly contain came to be known as Godsends.

This was also the return of the Supernatural to the world. Supernatural powers, forces, energies, and beings all emerged from being myths and legend back to being reality, whether they had hid amongst mankind during the Age of Man or moved to another realm they returned. This the true reason behind the time being called the Resurgence, to denote the return of the supernatural. The fall of the Godsends is seen as the beginning of the Resurgence, the beacon that drew the Supernatural back to Earth.

The world was of course shaken but eventually resettled and surprisingly much of the world was accepting of the Supernatural. Yet there were those who reject the Supernatural and/or Ars Mundus for varying reasons. As much as the world has changed there are those who refuse to change wih it and fight against the tide. All throughout these periods of change nations rose, fell, and changed for better or worse. Some countries accepted the Supernatural and/or Ars Mundus while others cling the technology of the old age. The Godsends came to change the world as much as the Supernatural did, both had caused changes both good and bad. The world was at a relative peace compared to the chaos of World War III, but also could be said to still be in a state of change and calamity.

Chapter Five: Calamity Trigger

A mysterious organization in the shadows is masterminding conflicts all over the world. The world at large knows nothing about them but their prints are evident at the start of nearly every Calamity. Monster rampages, civil wars, terrorist organizations, Oppressive Regimes, international wars, and more. If anyone has anything at all on them, it's a name, Calamity Trigger. Their aims and motives are unknown as well as who they serve. One thing that's clear, is that they must be stopped.

Will magic as a science and magic that defies science coexist or destroy each other? What is the truth behind the Godsends and their purpose in this world? What is the Calamity Trigger? What will come next?
