Selee-01

All according to my Scenario
In the Beginning, there was Khaos, the formless void. And Khaos birthed the endless Primordial Sea, and the monstrous Rahab, and the God of the Darkness, Erebus, and the God Meson, lord of might.

And Khaos bore many sons and daughters, and these are the Gods Above and Below.

You are a god at the beginning of creation. There is nothing save the endless void and the sea, and Rahab in the sea. It is your duty to create all things, and this will be a long and difficult task. But in the end, you will be rewarded.

____________

Inspired by Aztec and Greek mythology, I wanted to start a God Roleplay of my own. You all take the role of a god, ideally inspired by some real-life deity, and work to create the world of Arqa.

A few rules:

You cannot create something from nothing. You must use something that already exists if you wish to create.

This is a mythic roleplay, and is based on the idea of creating a world. Don’t be afraid to die! Sometimes a god’s demise will make a great story. And you can always create a new god.

Although multiple races may appear, humanity is the ultimate goal, so to speak. Eventually, humans will appear, and the roleplay will enter a new stage.

Stage, you ask? Indeed! The first stage is the Creation, forming earth and sun and stars. The second age is the Age of Heroes, where demigods will wander the earth. And then will come the Third Age, the Age of Strife.

Every god has a weak point. Some have their hand, or eye, some have an internal organ, but all have this Achilles Heel (and that can be a weakness as well!). If this weakness is destroyed, the god will be dramatically weakened.

Although gods will... ahem, procreate, no sexual content! Keep it offscreen, and if you want to create a new god PM me and the other player. Demigods are much the same, but you only need to PM me. Romantic relationships are encouraged, however.

Godly combat (player vs player) will crop up a fair bit. Expect to suffer battle injuries as time goes on, and make it fun! Godly warfare can and should be badass and memorable.

Realism is encouraged. You should have a fairly serious god, or at least not make a joke character. Humor is okay, but I don’t want to get memetic. Additionally, characters that exist in real-life (or stuff from a preexisting story) is not allowed.

Multiple gods per player are allowed. However, only three at most, please. Also, ideally they should all be ‘siblings’. Gods will often have overlapping powers and domains. That’s fine, but they should all be distinct in personality.

Character Sheet

Name: The true name of a god should not be known by mortals. If a mortal knows a god’s true name, they can force that god to treat them as an equal.

Gender: Male, female, other, neither, all of the above, anything you want really.

Epithet: The various names and monikers of your god.

Godhood: A sentence or two about what your god rules over. This can cover a few different things, but leave room for other gods to share in it. For instance, Meson is the god of light, but specifically of the primordial light that existed before the sun and stars.

Personality: A good paragraph or two about your god’s traits. Contradiction is okay, as gods rarely follow consistent moral codes.

Appearance: Include the forms taken on Arqa, and the true form. The true form is so powerful that any mortal would be instantly killed, and the land blasted from the sheer divine power.

Religion: All gods require sacrifice to endure. Mortals must offer up sacrifices of value, things of meaning, ranging from flowers and bread to human hearts and blood. What do your subjects offer you? Why do they need to sustain you, and what are the tenants of your religion? This will, naturally, come up more after humanity emerges.

Relationships: All gods are born from Khaos, but how do you see your fellow gods? As rivals, family, friends?

Weakness: What is your weak point?

Sacred Weapon: What one divine weapon do you wield? This is a single, powerful artifact of your essence, focused into a weapon capable of wounding and killing other gods.

Example Character Sheet

Name: Meson

Gender: Male

Epithet: The Lightbringer, the Flayed Lord, the Golden One, Eldest of Gods

Godhood: Meson is the god of light, specifically of the primordial light that existed before the sun and stars. He also reigns over harvest, kings and fire.

Personality: Meson is prideful and cruel, a god who knows he is a god. He lords his might above the other gods, and has no compunction about using force to get his way. However, he is also a god of harvest, and it is by his grace that humanity feasts. Meson is also a just god, and cruel tyrants are destroyed by his will.

Appearance:

True form:

Religion: Meson requires blood, and lots of it. Every day, his priests sacrifice a bird or lamb, and at the summer and winter solstices he drinks human blood. At the equinoxes, he consumes the blood of a bullock. At the eclipses, he drinks even more blood. His followers pray for a good harvest, offering up the finest of their crops to appease their blazing god, and his temples are rich. His priests pray to him through fire, and he responds by bestowing visions and miracles.

Relationships: Meson sees all gods as subjects, especially the newest. He hates Erebus with a passion, and has sworn on his own name to kill him.

Weakness: Meson’s weak point is his heart.

Sacred Weapon: The Sickle of the Golden Harvest is his divine weapon. It was forged in the blood of Khaos itself.
