This world is built by you. If you say there's energy tech, there's energy tech. If you say there's solid light structures, there's solid light structures. If you say there's animal infused body mods, there's animal infused body mods. So if you have a piece of tech or lore to add, post it here and, boom, it's canon!

Ala - a company that makes personal hover transport machines, mostly boards and scooters.
Hover tech - utilizes networks of underground magnets, built into the city's infrastructure, to repel the ground and defy gravity smoothly
A-Ware - a company that makes virtual retinal display contact lenses
Sagax - a company that makes devices that are basically super advanced smartphones. Subsequently became generic trademark for these types of devices in general (like Kleenex for tissue, Band-Aid for bandage, Google for online search engines, etc. Interchangeable with the name of the generic product)
Temp-pack - temperature regulating patch that can be made either hot or cold and attached to the body at pressure points to help cool you down or warm you up
Education system - students operate on a system that is highly customizable to fit the needs of the student. They also spend not much time in a classroom setting and more time interacting with peers and organizing or taking part in learning events for themselves and other students. Homework is virtually non-existent. Elementary school is from ages 4-8, primary school is from ages 9-12, secondary school is from 13-16, and tertiary school is from 17-20. Only elementary, primary, and secondary are required by law.

J&J: one of 3 major weapon manufacturing company's, J&J have a near monopoly on gunpowder based weapons

Farenheit Armaments (F/A): the second of the 3 major weapon manufacturing company's, F/A specialize in laser based weapons believing that the future lies in them

EXE arms: The last of the 3 major weapon manufacturing company's, EXE specializes in experimental tech, highly dangerous but highly powerful, they were the first to make laser based weapons but more recently they have moved onto attempting to make plasma based, it is Unknown whether or not they have succeeded yet.

Other manufacturers are around but those are the major 3

Argon Underground - The original Argon City, upon which the current Argon is built. The city was essentially converted from an above-ground city to an enormous underground bunker during the last major war, as were most other big cities. When the war was over, rather than uncover the city, they just expanded upward, the second floors of original buildings becoming the new first floor. The underground eventually fell into disrepair and was condemned by the city. It’s now inhabited by vagabonds and houses various seedy and less-than-legitimate businesses.

Argon City Police Department (A.C.P.D): The police force tasked on the protection of Argon City. Most have seen signs of corruption and choose to have a distrust against them, with even members of the task force seen snooping around Argon underground doing who knows what. There are some in the force who believe in getting the job done the correct way. But when push comes to shove, they usually would resort to the help of the various bounty hunters that live within the confines of Argon Underground

Genesys Chemical (Gen Chem)

The research corporation responsible for the mass production of energy throughout Argon City. They also supply batteries and electrical packs for Ala, A-Ware, and to whoever puts up the right price. Their major shipping facility and corporate building is in the heart of Argon. Publicly they are one of the more trusted businesses within the city, though the board of directors makes sure things behind locked doors are kept there by any means necessary. They can’t let the company name get tarnished after all.

United Investigations and Civil Enforcement (U-ICE)

U-ICE is a private security and investigative firm that rose to prominence after the surge of crime in Argon from the underground. Security and investigation services were needed during the development of the upper floors or Argon City with work riots and criminal activity amok. Mercenary groups were formed, but this lead to competition between the mere companies that violence would boil over until the companies agreed to merge to create Argon Civil Enforcement Services. Eventually ACES branched into the P.I industry seeing that citizens were losing trust in the ACPD, and started looking to P.I's to report crimes. ACES started offering contracts to the most popular P.I's in Argon City. Soon ACES had dominated the private investigation and security markets, changing its name to United Investigations and Civil Enforcement. They had signed a contract with J&J to equip all their contractors with their firearms as well as one with the city that permits to take legal action in the underground to help mitigate crime. However their services are open to anyone that can afford them.

U-ICE and the ACPD developed a heated rivalry over the years with the public distrust towards to the police and people trusting U-ICE more and more. Especially with busting trafficking rings in the underground. But their own greed and corruption is concealed from the public eye and only known within the enclave of its high ranked members and their confidants.

Kinetic Racing - a highly publicized team based sport that consists of designing, building, and racing with a kinetic suit on tracks that require high speeds, tight turns, wall crawling, long jumps, and even completely upside down movement. Pilots are often the faces of the teams, earning celebrity status at times.

Transportation - transportation in Argon City mainly consists of convertible cars (that is, automobiles that can move terrestrially or in the air), hover trucks/buses (mainly for commercial transport), maglev bullet trains, and personal hover transport. Or just, you know, walking!

Argon City Legislative Council

pierres-vives-building-by-zaha-hadid.jpg

As Argon grew in size governance was needed and representation was needed to ensure that the rights of the people were protected and promote citizen participation. As such the Legislative Council, informally known as LegCo was created, a unicameral legislative institution with 100 seats. They have created laws for the benefit of the city as well as to ensure that the more wealthy and influential individuals don't struggle for power over the city. However corruption is pretty common, pushing corporate or personal agendas.

The councilors meet to discuss issues on a municipal level and attempt to pass legislation. However with the city brewing more and more issues, political parties had risen to prominence, each of them with their own ideologies and methods to solving problems and making the city better for everyone.

There are three major parties in the council. The LPA (Liberty-Prosperity Alliance), the SocLibs (Social Liberals), and the ACPP (Argon City People's Party). Other parties exist but are nowhere near the influence of the Big 3.

Liberty-Prosperity Alliance

Screen Shot 2018-12-27 at 1.34.28 AM.png

The LPA is considered to be the most pro-corporate and anti-government party in the council. They support all corporate decisions, acting as their yes-men. They are pro free-market, trickle-down economics, and laissez-faire, oppose minimum wage, taxation, welfare, and other government-run programs. Additionally the LPA takes very traditional stances on social policy such as, the right to own firearms, see narcotic abusers as criminals, and that everyone is responsible for their own actions. Their members consist of corporate representatives and lobbyists, as well as paid district officials to further corporate interests.

Social Liberals

Screen Shot 2018-12-26 at 11.48.57 PM.png

The Social Liberals or commonly known as the SocLibs are a moderate reform party who want to expand the power of the city's government to help the middle and lower classes of Argon City. They are in favor of the free-market and believe that the government should be used to help people gain access of opportunity in the free-market, funding career training programs and create single-payer healthcare. However their main focus is reforming the economy and they stress regulating the huge corporations and raising taxes to fund city projects. They are proponents of individual liberty and work to end discrimination in the city. Its members consist of lawyers, teachers, and businessmen.

Argon City Peoples Party

Screen Shot 2018-12-27 at 1.44.24 AM.png

The ACPP is the leading progressive and reformation party on the council. They believe Argon City is at the mercy of the huge monopolies and corporations, getting away with whatever they want, especially with the corruption and inefficiency of the ACPD. They want to protect the middle and lower classes of the city, seeing themselves as their champion instead of their more moderate counterparts the SocLibs. They want to increase the power of labor unions and creating a welfare city-state. They want to end discrimination for all and push for equal housing and work opportunity. Its members consist of manufactures, artisans, and union representatives.

Taskforce Taurus:
An elite unit operating at the top of ACPD. Handles hostage-rescue, counter-terrorism and raids against dangerous criminals or criminal organizations. Spearheaded by a SWAT-style assault team supported by veteran ACPD investigators, technicians and general staff.
Jäger Arms: Originally this company produced hunting rifles and survival gear. Today they manufacture modular weapon systems for military and law-enforcement personnel around the world. A small assembly plant is located within Argon City.
Corvus Inc.: Specializing in unmanned drones Corvus Inc. have a variety of models for a variety of missions, ranging from car-sized supply-drones, drone swarms used for search and rescue to combat drones the size of a shoe or a Sagax.
Washington & York: Produces reliable and cheap sidearms for law-enforcement. Sponsors various private security firms with discounts on their automatic handguns and self-loading micro-pistols.
MIDAS: A leading producer of general cybernetic implants and enhancements. Popular with athletes, soldiers, hunters, police and bored rich people.

ACPD Gang Unit: Kept under strict watch by an impartial and classified board to ensure flawless operation the ACPD-GU are tasked with combatting the many gangs, crime syndicates and other types of organized crime within Argon City. Identities of its members are kept secret to prevent outside influence, corruption and threats from criminals with anonymity going as far as forcing the GU's officers to wear balaclavas during court trials.

Officers of the GU are also prohibited from sharing their job description with anyone, including wives/husbands or other close relatives.

Gearjunkies: One of many crime syndicates of Argon City the Gearjunkies were originally a collective of scavengers. These days they are addicted to enhancing themselves through implants, bodymods and cybernetics. Initiation rite includes killing a random individual to scavenge their cybernetics.

While the Gearjunkies keep to themselves most of the time they do venture outside of their territory from time to time in search for more unlucky victims. Those with visible implants and cybernetics are advised to avoid Gearjunkies at all times.

Crimson Legion: Militaristic and hyper-violent the Crimson Legion occupy a small portion of Argon Underground where they operate out of a small weapons plant. Back in the day these armed and jacked-up criminals used to terrorize their own little corner and leave everyone else alone.

Lately however they've been expanding their territory which has put them at odds with the Gearjunkies. So far the conflict is kept to the lower levels but the ACPD predicts that a gang war could eventually spill over to the upper levels of the city.

Military Police (MP's)
87ed5b7e86c1faeebc4ee285f8a4dbcc.jpg
The Military Police is the city gendarmerie and acts independent from the ACPD and more of a paramilitary. Their main responsibilities are to protect important government facilities and members of the city government and therefore, they are usually found in the more regal and luxurious districts of the city. They also have celebratory purposes such as acting as security for citywide events or ceremonies. Other duties include tax collection, financial crimes, cyber crimes, narcotics, and domestic intelligence and security. MP officers come from all walks of life, but you'll have a better chance if you have experience in any sort of field you may apply for. Little corruption is present in the Military Police due to its increase surveillance of its members. Many wish to be an MP officer but their acceptance rate is low and their graduation rate is even lower due to its rigorous training. But those who make it are either seen with great respect or heavy lamentation.

Atlas: The leading construction company of the world. They specialize in using any and all materials the client requests as well building pretty anything they’re contracted to do. As their slogan goes, “Atlas built the world up and holds it up.” They have been building many of the areas infrastructure and have been shutting down smaller construction business due to their efficiency and quality as well as affordability. They built most of the infrastructure of Argon city and know it’s materials and costs for each and every little bit of building that makes up the city.
Atlas Exo Skeletons: Lately they’ve been experimenting with enhancing their workers by creating wearable exo rigs. Problem is this first series of exos requires for the rig to be attached to the human body through a series of screws and anchors around certain points of the body. Each worker that was given an exo volunteered and were put under while being “attached” to their exo rig. The rig can be removed but the anchors in the body are unfortunately there to stay. Aside from construction exos they have also made other exos for differing jobs, from rescue teams to security, electrical to hazmat teams to doctors. They’ve even made an experimental space exploration exo.

Tangy Mango Family Bar: A small bar situated in the side of a residential block. The exterior is made of red clay bricks, despite the metal walls of all nearby buildings. Two round metal tables with sun umbrellas covering them can be found just outside, each having four metal chairs around them. A single, large glass window with the words "Tangy Mango: Family Bar" painted onto it takes up most of the little space this shop had for an exterior. A well worn wooden door with a brass knob, to the right of the window, leads inside.
Once inside, the smell of cooked meats of all kind, baked breads, freshly-cut produce, and cooking food assaults your nose. Then the pungent smell of beers, malts, whiskies, spirits, wines, and other liquids-of-nefarious-nature quickly overpowers the other heavenly scents. You are quickly reminded that this is, infact, a Bar.
Looking around you notice all the walls, and the floor is surprisingly wooden, a rare sight nowadays, and a whiteboard with "Tangy Mango: Family Bar Rules: 1) When you eat/drink here, you are a customer, not a criminal, not a bounty hunter, not a superhero/villian. 2) If such a need rises, please take the fight outside. 3) All prices are final, so stop trying to bargain, John. 4) Enjoy your stay!" written on it. Directly towards your right are four tall lockers, and a note asking you to stow all weapons when entering.
Along the Left wall are booths for families or persons needing a lot of space, each being able to seat around 6 people. The booths are upholstered with brown Chenille Fabric, being stained dark purple or red in some spots, with tears in the fabric here and there. The walls are adorned with a random assortment of objects, from shelves holding random seashells, rusted and beaten up road signs, to neon-lights. The bar is on the right wall, with 10 barstools made from the same materials as the booths, fabric and all, evenly spaced out from end to end. There's a three-foot gap between the boots and the bar, so plenty of walking space is provided, yet this place is compact enough to cause claustrophobia. Behind the bar are a couple of grills, burners, brewers, beer taps, and other miscellaneous kitchen appliances.
At the very back end of this Bar, is a single door, leading to a Unisex restroom.
Despite the look of this place, and its rustic appearance, almost all reviews for this place are 4.8 stars.

Kowloon

dbps8ty-b6f5c7c6-fc04-4bb2-9655-bc07b129cf22.png

Tucked away in a horribly uncomfortable network of winding alleys and seemingly dead ends lies the pride and joy of "Xiūlǐ"; the illicit chop shop of black market augments, Kowloon. Smelling strongly of cheap booze and cigarette smoke before you even see the sign, Kowloon "happily" trades in cyberware, information, network access and even the odd bit of bioware "Xiūlǐ" manages to ship in. The seats may be uncomfortable and falling apart, the floor might be covered in things indescribable to even the mightiest janitor and the constant stream of insults from its proprietor at the TV, her various monitors and more often than not her customers tends to drown out all other sounds, but its reliability when it comes to maintenance, procurement and secrecy makes it a fairly popular destination for the more unsavoury types. Just try to ignore the fact it looks like its namesake, and try not to trip on the cables.
