hina-kagiyama-touhou-project-17797-2880x1800.jpgName: Areum Eurasia

Age: 220

Mental Age: 19

Gender: Female

Sexual Orientation: Super Gay

Q: Regular or Irregular? ->A: Regular

Species: Human

Personality: Of the Eurasia family, the first thing that may come to one's mind about Areum is 'lazy', and while not as endlessly lethargic as her the bigger portion of her brothers and sisters, one wouldn't be entirely mistaken to think in such a way. A bit of a 'pampered princess', Areum isn't the sort that's particularly pleased with things not going her way. Whether something such as losing a battle or something as trivial as food or bedding not being up to par, Areum is extremely quick to complain, either pinning the blame on others or launching an attempt to force them to do something about it.

However haughty, though, Areum isn't entirely disagreeable. So long as everything as going the girl's way, in fact, you'll often find her to be quite a reasonable companion. Despite her spoiled nature, the girl admittedly does have a decent head on her shoulders, and as a former Princess Candidate, she's quite capable of slipping into a leader's position, being surprisingly considerate despite what her arrogance would lead most to believe, though her strategic capabilities do find themselves a little lacking. She's of the sort who make a good companion, so long as her prospective partner find themselves able to either look past- or just deal with- the issues the plague her personality.

Of which, the most detrimental is perhaps the girl's inferiority complex. Though you'll never find Areum admitting to it, her mother's refusal of her becoming a Princess had more of an effect on her than just causing her to 'run away from home'. With her denial of the position and the now poor ties she holds with her family, Areum took an extreme blow to her self-esteem, acting as she does in an attempt to both make up for it and cover what she perceives as her failure up to those around her. Her arrogance, in reality, isn't much more than an attempt to make up for the confidence she's lost, even if Areum herself doesn't realize it.

Position: Defender

Rank: N/A

Sobriquet: N/A

Affiliation: Herself

Abilities and Skills:

  • Shinsoo Manipulation: Bulwark - A specialized form of Shinsoo Reinforcement, Bulwark is a talent cultivated by Areum herself that focuses on solely enhancing a single one of her attributes, rather than her physical capabilities on the whole. Namely, Areum is versed in enhancing her defensive abilities, and nothing more, increasing both her Shinsoo and Physical Resistances, while leaving her attacking power and speed untouched. Her experience in other forms of manipulation is barebones at best.
  • Shinsoo Resistance: Very Good- Defense being Areum's specialty, she's put a particular amount of effort into improving her Shinsoo resistance, and is a stage above most her fellow E-Ranked as a result.
  • Adept Fighter - To support her Shinsoo Reinforcement, Areum is in the process of learning her way around the martial arts. While reasonably talented, and able to put up a good fight against most other F-Ranked Regulars, she's not nearly as experienced as some, and still has much to learn.

Equipment:

  • Palisade Bracelet - A modified Arms Inventory, the Palisade Bracelet is built up of a series of small, dense discs, which are compressed through Shinsoo, attached to a thin wire. By running a current through them, the user is able to decompress and control them for use as shields, platforms, or anything else they're able to think of. Decompressed, each disc has a width of around six feet, and is able to resist force equal to two or three Baangs of power. There are six discs attached to the Palisade Bracelet, though Areum is only able to control two at a time.

History: As a member of one of the Great Families, Areum's always been part of an elite few of the Tower. But even amongst them, she's always been more than a bit of a rarity. In the family famous of Wave Controllers, Areum displayed a talent deserving of her name indeed, only, not in belonging to the family's traditional image. As a Defender, instead, her role was clear. From a moment not more than a month after she'd begin training to climb the Tower Areum showed talent for the ever-illusive role, and as she advanced that talent only grew. It grew, and she began to shine, enough for her to catch the wandering, greedy eye of Zahard. A girl of beauty, prestige, and rarity, she presented herself as a valuable gem indeed. Valuable enough for Zahard to invite the girl into his own fold. And valuable enough for her mother to deny.

As opposed as the woman was to even the thought of the Princess Selection process, she denied Areum completely. Enne. The reason, clearly, was that woman. That murderous older sister of hers. But even if she knew that there was little Areum could do to make her mother budge. No amount of begging, pleading, or reasoning would get through to her. For a few years, she tried without fault. But she never even gained an inch of footing. The argument wasn't even one-sided, hell, it wasn't even an argument. She'd have been better off pleading to a rock.

So, she did what seemed logical to her. She took anything she could in hand, and ran away.

Areum abandoned the home of her family and cut her way into her own place in the Tower. She'd build up a life of her own, she thought, and then she'd contact Zahard, in whatever way she could, and take up that which she'd been denied. Obviously, things didn't go the way she'd hoped. As valuable as gem as she was, Zahard was hardly in the business of welcoming one such as her into his fold. A runaway. A traitor. And neither was her family, so sure of that fact was Areum that she didn't even have to check. With her disgraceful begging on one hand and her haphazard flee from their arms in the other, the Eurasias wouldn't interested in taking her back in the slightest.

Because of her actions, because of her rashness, Areum lost almost everything. All she'd been left with were the clothes on her back, and what pathetic a living she could scrape out. Still, somehow, she managed to succeed. Not with a life of glamour or excitement, but one none the less. A life enough to allow her ego to recover, if only a little, before being approached by Headon, only to be left behind once again, in search of either a new one entirely, or an old one reclaimed.
