We are the waiting. The children of the streets. A group of street kids, orphans, and otherwise disadvantaged children. We take care of each other. We help each other. We won't let ourselves be forgotten.

Bryant Whittiker

Age: 14
Gender: Male
Personality: Jittery at best, paranoid at worst. Bryant is hesitant at all times, cautious to a fault, distrusting, and timid. They years he spent as the object of his mother's psychotic fury destroyed his ability to trust not only himself but everyone else around him. Bryant tends to overthink, but somehow is still an amazing liar.

History: Bryant has been on the streets for 5 years. He ran away after his mother tried to slit his throat. He was young, but that didn't stop him from becoming a criminal. He became a busboy for a drug cartel- no one suspects a nine-year-old. He did this for two years, then left to pursue arms dealing. When he failed at that, Bryant turned to illegal pawning. He'd rob a house, steal their valuables, and sell them to pawn shops. He lived off of this for two years. That changed about three months ago. He fell gravely ill to the point where he couldn't move. He spent a month and a half just recovering, the following month and a half was spent trying not to starve. He is back on his feet, barely.

History; His Parents were hard drug addicts from the time he could remember. At the age of 4 his mother left him and his father. His father fell harder into drug use and eventually took his own life when he was only 6. He was found a week later in a filthy home by the police after a concerned neighbor called about the smell. He was put into foster home and bounced around from home to home. He grew up with mainly adopted foster siblings and kids from the foster home always in and out for a temporary home. He was always different because of his past but he refused to grow up like his biological parents. He had a hard deep hatred for his mother after leaving them and he blamed her for his fathers death. As He became older he found music to be his escape. He was 15 when he found a family that might finnaly fit,he also met the girl he thought he was going to marry. They did everything together. At 16 she ended up pregnant and from the moment she found out wanted nothing to do with him or his child inside her. Her parents were beyond upset and wanted her to get rid of it. Luckily he talked him into having it and giving up custody. His fosterparent's agreed to keep him untill the baby was born. It was then straight back to group home for him. He even overheard them talking about keeping the baby. When his son was finally born he went up to the hospital to sign papers and see him for the first time. That night next to the motions and fear for his child being taken away he did the unthinkable. He packed up all his stuff some of the stuff as foster parents you got in for the baby took the baby out the hospital and ran. He boarded a bus to New York and headed out on his own. Being 17 with a baby on your own with no money is hard work. He eventually found shelter and abandoned building on the outskirts of town. Now you're later Liam is a fun-loving amazing when you're old and Nikolai has created the best life you can. Who started rebuilding the abandoned house getting rid of all the holes and fixing the fireplace. With no way of turning on the lights heat or anything else for that matter the fireplace was use for everything from light to cooking. He gets by doing odd jobs around the town, stealing, and is a low-time drug dealer for some of the others around here. It's definitely not the life we would have chosen for liam,but better then him not having him.

Mary is a short, wretched, thing. Scrawny, with visible ribs, and bony hands. Hers is a face that ought to have scars; She has hawkish nose, piercing eyes and plenty of grit. She has straggly red hair matched by an equally bedraggled red jacket fully covering breasts that are little more than mosquito bites. She wears no jewelry, and bears no track marks on her arms. She looks at you with distrust and malice. Not you specifically, just anyone really. You're all soft and pampered, and she's just trying to figure out which fold to stick her knife in.

"I've lived a hard life, y'see? I was born'n orphan an' got bounced 'round the foster system cuz aint a' one of 'em could handle t'likes o' me. So one day they kicked me out, tore up my social security card 'n everythin'! But I don't sweat it none. 'm better off with out them interferin'. Bunch of soft, fat fucks anyways."

She learned to steal at an early age, and then started mugging other runaways who were more timid, or new to the life. Not much later, upon hitting puberty, she tried prostitution briefly, but she didn't like it.

"I aint that kinda girl. Woe be to those who is. That kind of behavior aint nothin' but trouble. 'fore too long you be gettng pregnant, and then you really will be fat and soft. Ha!"

When the whoring didn't pan out, she went back to mugging, but instead of other homeless she went after school kids. She might be small but she has a razor blade presence. She eventually figured out she could make more money selling drugs to the high school kids and does so presently.

4th Wall Review:
Mary is a little bit psychotic, and not at all book smart -- except math. She can do simple arithmetic quite well where money is concerned. She is wild and erratic and not mentally stable. She's capable of heinous acts and talks a wicked game, boasting of more. She has a very high opinion of herself, viewing everyone as weaker than her in some way. She is vengeful and holds grudges, but is also a survivor and won't put herself at risk.
She's a bully, but she's mostly talk.. mostly. She'll respect those who can stand their ground, kind of. You can maybe win her over, but it won't be easy. Flattery works, if she thinks it sincere. Money always talks. She is very profit driven.
You'll probably hate her, and that's ok. If she comes on too hard, let me know OOC.

Name: Aaron Medow

Age: 13

Appearance: Aaron is quite short for his age, standing as tall as your kitchen counter and looks even younger. His dark skin and unkempt nappy hair add a pinch of wild to his already firey eyes. He doesn't wear tattered threads, but his clothes clearly need some matinence. Stained T-shirts and dumpster found jeans are his look.
He also bears a small tattoo of a crow's sillouhette perched on his left shoulder blade.

Personality: Authori-what? Yeah, no thanks. Running from the law is like pouring your morning bowl of cereal for this kid. He's warm and open but always trying to benefit from relations. Confrontational, outlandish and just plain dumb behavior lead to his nickname Risky. Showing off and out are what he's about.

History: "Too much like his bitch ass father" is what his mother described him as. With no interest in formal education he Instead chose the street walkers and liquor store lurkers to be his teachers and their lifestyles as the lessons. Needless to say he would never skip a day of class. His father was a respected and well known gang member in the neighborhood but was gunned down in an altercation at a pool hall over how to hold a pool stick. Aaron was 3 years old when that happened and the only memory he has of his father is the stench of marijuana and the wide contrasting white grin on his face when he offered the boy "a swig of dis here". His mother, a devout follower of the christian faith tried what she could to keep Aaron away from that lifestyle, but her priority was with the church and pastor Murray. The harder she chased Jesus, the heavier Aaron became. Finally, he ran away and consulted his street partners about what to do. In an effort to remain hidden, they suggested he skip town and go to another city north of where he stayed. So he took what money he had and caught the next bus.

Serena is quiet by instinct, usually keeping to herself. But if you get past her rough exterior, you'll find her to be kind, cool, and collected. But she finds those attributes to be weak. Until you get to know her, she's cold, stand-offish, and very rude.
History:
Growing up in a very destructive family of druggies, she would always find ways to entertain herself. She was used to the monthly drug binges cut short in time for child services to appear. It wasn't until her father died, that she started to care. Until then, she was free to visit her friends and grandparents on her off time, but after her father's passing, her mother got strict and very religious. No adult material, and no leaving the house. When she was 13, she started to use with her mother, and after that, things seemed to calm down. Until her mother found out about Serena being gay. Her mother beat her, and Serena figured that was enough. One year later, after stealing from her mother, she figured she could make it on her own.

Personality: She is very intelligent and good with computers. Likes any music from Rennisance to Romanticism, cooking, reading, and being outdoors. She does not like seafood, alcohol or raw tomatoes. The smell of vinegar makes her sick to her stomach. Mahika doesn't like large crowds or social events. Mahika has a weakness for chocolate. She is a private person and very distrusting of people she doesn't know. It is unknown exactly what her motives are and whose interests she is protecting or serves. She tends to keep to herself and is good with a variety of weapons.

History: Mahika will do what is needed to keep her brother alive, even if that means engaging in otherwise illegal things and things she shouldn't have to think of going through to keep her and her brother together. Her dad was an abusive drunk while her mom died when she was six and Koi was two from their dad's drunken rage. Instead of getting help for his problems, he began taking it out on Mahika, blaming his daughter for his wife's death and seeing to it she suffered in rather unspeakable ways. It was only when Mahika saw her father go after Koi that Mahika took her little brother and they ran.

Personality: He's distrustful of adults and authority figures. He's into video games and interested in working with his hands but he doesn't talk much to others.
History: Koi has always looked up to his big sister. She's protected him from the worst part of their father. When their dad tried to kill him in a drunken rage, they ran away. Having no other family to take them in, his sister knew they'd be separated in foster care and she wouldn't be able to protect him anymore or see him again.

A tough, battered veteran of the streets.
She's proud of herself but tends to
distance herself from others.
She doesn't like crowds due to a rather isolated life; she rarely puts her
trust in others, expecting they'll just
let her down. Jude Haus is incredibly resourceful and can make
something out of anything.

Jude never knew a true home from the start of her life. Her parents were extremely dysfunctional - every night was a nasty fight between the two. When things got physical, and her dad started going after Jude and her big sister is when she started her life on the streets. Jude's sister, Eleanor (her mom was a hardcore Beatles fan) took Jude and ran away. She was cunning enough to make a living on the streets, and taught Jude everything. However, Eleanor had been dabbling in rather illegal things to get by, and disappeared when Jude was only twelve. Scared and alone, she isolated herself which was the only way she knew how to defend herself.

Personality:
Quinn is a very emotional person. He thinks with his heart more than his head. Creativity is one of his main traits and his talent is a big part of his identity. He is considered an eccentric due to his family being so eccentric. He is an introvert due to caring for so many people. He has never made permanent friends with anyone due to his family being so messed up. He is considered stubborn due to his unwillingness to cooperate. He also is a leader which is a good thing until he doesn't cooperate and so, when everything fails, he falls deep into self hatred and sadness.
History:
Quinn was the first child of 7 followed by the twins (two boys), his younger sister, his youngest sister and his youngest brother. His father was a drunk and his mother tried to keep their big family together. As for Quinn, he was the one who had to care for the youngest child at all times. He didn't mind. It left him more time to do other things instead like art. He liked doing art. It was a distraction from the near-poverty they were living in.

When he was 13 their mother died of an unexpected infection. Quinn became the soul person taking care of the kids as they knew if child services came for them then they'd split the kids up and he didn't want that for them. He found all the cheap ways to make money and became the patron saint of small crime. He didn't like it but he did it for them.

This continued for years until his final few years of high school. His grades were really starting to matter. He got addicted to caffiene and used it to stay up to study after everyone had finally gotten to bed. He argued with Dad more which didn't help as they were both two drugged up people both saying they loved the kids yet only one of them really did.

After he graduated (early and at the top of his class) he was offered a partly paid scholarship which he denied. Instead he got a second job on top of the one he already had at a cafe but after a year and a half he realised the money just wasn't cutting it. He decided that due to the twins growing so quick and becoming more mature, he'd teach them the ways of the patron saint of small crime. He had a final mug of coffee with the twins, moved out. At this point he was just not making enough money for the family and they needed more space. Living on the streets with his guitar and busking for money to get food would be easier than working a job.
