Arcadia City is one of the largest and most influential megacities in all of the continent of Kleodon. At its forefront, its a city of hope and endless possibilities. But not too far beneath the surface shows that that very surface is a weak veneer, ready to peel off at any moment to the rotten insides that lurk below.

Detective Hitoshi had seen it all. Deaths of all shapes, sizes and colors. The sorts of strange and unknowable allure of various designer drugs, magical crazes and cult leaders.

Even the shadier sides of the Megacorporations had all kinds of dark and dangerous activities if you didn’t turn away. MOst people turned away, however. They didn’t want to question where their cheap food products or magical herbs or designer parts came from. As long as they came and as long as it was fast, the public didn’t care.

The Detective was woken up from his sound sleep at 3 AM by the ringing of his holo. He had just gotten off of a very intense case involved with smuggling of Dwarven Slaves that were painted Blue. A weirdo wearing tattered black robes claimed that he wanted to eat them to gain their powers.

Whatever that meant. But what it meant for Hitoshi was that he had only been running on about maybe two hours of sleep before he got the call.

The call that there was a major explosion downtown in a supposedly abandoned warehouse. Apparently, the leaders and lieutenants of the top four gangs in the city, Clan Shankz, The Elites, The Skullz and The Wheel Machines were in some sort of big meeting.

Once he groggily get dressed and arrived at the crime scene, he contacted some of his informants via the net. Supposedly, the BIG 4 were going to officially be dividing up the city and crush all competition once and for all.

Clearly, one of the minor gangs found out and planted a bomb. Or heck, maybe even one of the corporations decided it was in their best interests if there wasn’t such a union in the dreg heaps.

Whatever the reason, it was done and now he was going to have to investigate. His partner, a heavyset middle aged Orc named Dumire was already at the scene, perpetuating the typical cop stereotype of happily munching on a donut. Pink crumbs dribbled down onto his black uniform as he wiped his chipped canine tooth with his sleeve.

“About time you got here, Hitoshi.” The orc spoke with a mouth full of donut. If there wasn’t so little let of the crime scene, Hitoshi would have chided him for possibly contaminating the evidence. But so far, everything that they could see from this side of the tape was charred to a darkened crisp.

“For your information, Dumire, I was asleep when I got the call. I had just gotten off a case and thought I could get forty winks at least before I was needed again.”

Dumire Chuckled, letting his gut ripple slightly, jostling the crumbs. “Well, you thought wrong,Hitoshi. Now let’s get in there and look around.”

His orc partner might seem like an overweight moron, but he was far more perceptive than most people gave him credit for. Many think that just because he is an orc and that he is crass, that he is incapable of being a detective. But they couldn’t be more wrong.

Hitoshi led the way past the tape, with Dumire following behind.

A figure lingers in the shadows, a raspy voice speaks aloud, seemingly to no one at all.

“Yes. It is done….done….done.”

The figure begins to pace back and forth as an older light fixture in the ceiling swings back and forth.

“Soon it will rise from the ashes….the ashes….And all will be dust….dust…dust.”

The light bulb exploded in a sea of sparks and all that followed was darkness

A thin and gaunt human looking man surveys all that currently belongs to him. The treasures of a lifetime. Things both mechanical and magical, both reside within his collection. It was now time to get them back out into the world.

Rea grew up in a well-off home. So she knew how people with money worked. She guesses that if she did a small charity event she would get some money to open a gym to get some needed manpower. She would make the charity event look like it was for a gym as it was, so it would have a high chance to go well. She also wanted to start selling drugs to cause some rish people to start being a bit carefree. Harl and Teal were on board. Teal was worried that it would be a bit risky but Harl calmed her down.

Actions:
Operation: Drug selling
Harl will take some of the drugs they had and will sell them to whoever
Operation: Get money for a gym
Teal will do a charity event for a gym, Rea hopes to make. And with more people on drugs after Harl selling them. They could get more money
Build a Front: Winds gym
With a gym, they could get some manpower and money to help the gang.

Chemlords

"Run, damnit! They're coming!" screamed a gutterpunk with purple spiked hair as he checks his pistol, panting frantically in the sickly green lighting of the Ziggurat. He could hear footsteps and voices along with the cocking of guns. This wasn't supposed to go this way, no one was suppose to have the muscle to seize the entire Ziggurat!

For over a decade, the rulers of Arcadia had turned a blind eye to the failure that was the Ziggurat public housing project. The funding was quietly cut but the building's maintenance systems had struggled along to keep it functional even as gang moved in and laid claim to various sections. Gang wars were a constant fact of life in the vast complex. Some gangers stealing and feeding materials into the recycling systems to keep their sections of it functional as the building converted what provided it replacement parts and materials to fix its structure or repair the various bots that did the work. The building was a testament to self-sustaining structures but because of this it had become the perfect home for the various gangs that realize they could have turf worth something. The normal people were driven out as the gangs did their work to claim the building. The city officially labeled it abandoned and buried the reports of rampant crime and mayhem within.

"Zigs, where the hell are these guys from?" Shouted a female guttepunk with chrome plates on a shaved head. She was checked her own rifle, slapping in a magazine before looking down the corridor as well.

"They're freaking outsiders. They already took out the Chrome Razors and the Green Gills. They're working their way up the damn building! Where the hell is all this muscle coming from, Viti?" Zigs demanded as they heard more gunfire as their own gang, the Dreadpunks, was fighting for their very lives.

Someone screamed as a Dreadpunk was sent flying down the corridor bodily, sliding along the floor and looked like someone had worked them mover hard.

"Chrome! They got orcs or something? I thought the BIg 4 were all breaking apart!" Zigs cries out as he sees his fellow ganger in that condition.

"Not... not orcs," gasps out the beaten ganger as they seemed to be struggling to get up as more sounds of people getting tossed about or gunfire rages down the corridor.

"How the hell are they doing this?!?" Viti screamed in outrage as they spot several large, overly muscled figures enter the corridor. Each was sporting subtle hints of augmentation but they didn't move like cyborgs. The motions were too fluid and their speed was unnerving for their obvious size and strength.

"Chem heads," Zigs manages after firing shots to try to drive them into cover.

"Chemlords," gasps the fallen ganger as they crawled behind cover.

"Your screwing with me, those guys were suppose to be under the thumb of Clan Shankz!" Zigs shouted in disbelief but he saw their chem roided figures and their well known gas masks. No one sported that look except the Chemlords.

"No more Shankz, no more leash," Viti said as she sprays the corridor with bullets. "Looks like their new boss is letting those chems go to his head if he thinks he's taking the Ziggurat."

"I seem to have good odds," said a strong, deep voice behind the group as a massive figure appears from an access hatch and moving with ominous speed.

Zigs tried to turn and fire his pistol at the massive man but a powerful hand casually grabbed his gun arm and slung him into Viti, sending them both crashing to the floor. The third Dreadpunk tried to get their pistol free but a large boot kicked it aside and then strunk him hard in the face to knock him out. Viti and Zigs were trying to untangle themselves even as their both heard a pistol cock as the massive man presented his own gun; a nasty revolver with enough kick that only someone like an orc or Chemlord could fire it without trouble.

"Congratulations, you get the opportunity to sign on with a REAL gang," King Orlock declared with a cold smile as he aimed the pistol and regarded them. His people were coming down the corridor to clear out anyone hidden as they completed their takeover of the this section of the Ziggurat.

"What makes you think we'll sign on with you, chem head?" Zigs spited out defiantly as he stares hatefully up at King Orlock.

"Simple. You want to make a living. I need people. You just have to embrace the code. That too hard an ask for you?" King Orlock demanded as he squats down to face them with a smirk, looking no smaller as he got more to their eye level. His pistol in a more casual hold which could be stupid or a warning that he didn't need it to kill them.

"What's the pay?" Viti manages as she shoves Zigs off herself and tosses her gun aside in annoyance to show she wasn't going to fight. "We get to stay here?"

"The pay is above average and if you prove worthwhile it will be increased. You earn your place with us. You get to stay. We're taking over the Ziggurat," Orlock declared calmly as he looks on at them with that same ominous calm and presence he projected from his sheer size combined with that calculating tone.

"How the chrome did you even manage this? No one's ever taken it all..." Zigs managed as he considered his options.

"Grun Coldheart wrote a treatise on urban fighting. I made my gang read it and we practiced some while doing work for Clan Shankz," Orlock answered as he starts to stand back up and offered a hand to Zigs. He lurched the gutterpunk up to his feet with ease before doing the same for Viti. Even standing, King Orlock ws a monster of a man, chem enhanced form towering and wide. It was no wonder the Chemlords had clamored to him. He seemed to embody their obsession with chem fueled self-enhancement.

"You... made them read a book?" Zigs sounded a little confused.

"A book on fighting, which few gangs seem to do," Orlock said as a massive female orc approached the group and clenched her fist to her chest in salute.

"We've taken control of most of the Ziggurat, my lord. The final top levels are being taken even as we speak. We also are offering prisoners membership as you commanded," Rezzaka reported as she looks to the two Dreadpunks and smirk. "These two joining?"

"Are you?" Orlock asked calmly but in a firm tone as he made it clear they had only two choice.

"I mean... yeah... might as well not get thrown out a upper level window, right?" Zigs managed with a nervous laugh and rubs the back of his. Viti just nodded numbly in agreement as they realized the Chemlords were utterly in control of the Ziggurat. They still couldn't believe they'd managed it because of some stupid book though.

"Good, welcome aboard," Orlock said and gave both their shoulders a welcoming squeeze. "We'll get you your new outfits and mods intalled shortly. Got to get your chem routines running too. Now then, Rezzaka, where the hell is Malzabrax?"

"Down in the main levels securing access and laying out plans for some of our new fronts. This place has a lot of space to do a few things in. He's talking about getting people to come back now that we're in total control. No more gang fighting means we can collect rent too," Rezzaka said in an annoyed tone that meant she agreed with the logic of her brawny drow compatriot. The pair didn't always agree but they both knew they needed to make their new base of operations work on multiple levels for them. Their King expected it of them.

"Perfect. Tell him to move ahead with operations. I'll break in the newbloods," Orlock said with a dark laugh and started down the corridor. "Come on, you two. I'll teach you the code everyone including me obeys as a Chemlord."

Zigs and Viti look at each other reluctantly but move to catch up the their hulking new boss. King Orlock was in charge here and from the way the rest of the Chemlords were acting, there wasn't going to be any power struggle in this gang currently. He held them all firmly in control and not seemingly through threat of violence. They were all moving with an almost frightening purpose in their efforts. The Dreadpunks had seen that when the elevators opened and scores of chem-roided thugs poured out rapidly, seizing control of the point of entry and spreading through their turf rapidly. Perhaps it was best the old gang died... this new one seemed eager to make moves now that The Claw wasn't around to hold their leash.

"Bloody cold in here eh Ash? Or are you to much of a bot now to feel it?" Batham Mechanisch's voice echoed around the old factory as he called out to his lieutenant. The man dropped a bag full of all the credits and tech that he had managed to scrounge up from the neighboring buildings and sat down on the edge of one of the old conveyor systems. "What's word on getting a few of the old gang back together under me?"

"Ah shut it you wanker, you know I'm still human as you ya git. And we got a few of em agreed to work for ya and one of the old higher ups has heard and wants to work for ya too. And before ya ask I'm not sure who, they just sent a message in the old style to me wanting a meet up," Ash Colos looked over at his boss from his position sorting out their fledgling gangs meager stock of weaponry. He turned as he spoke, showing off the myriad of cybernetics that he had replaced most of his body with.

"Good, and the status of that piece of scrap Iota? I haven't heard word from him since I sent him out to find a location for the Cybernetics shop," the gang leader stepped up to the table and picked his personal weapons back out of the pile of cleaned and repaired ones.

"Sent back a message through one of the new boys, said he found a location and is taking care of the 'rats' that were infesting it for us," the grin on the other man's face let Batham know exactly what kind of rats that the bot was taking care of.

"As long as he gets rid of em properly, don't want any pigs on us when we are just getting properly set up. Now then, let's get to work shall we Ash?" Batham laughed quietly as he started looking over a map of the city that was covered in multicolored pins. "Eenie, meenie, minie, moe!"

The cold garage was filled with strewn parts and pieces, it appeared chaotic as if no thought or effort went into any organization. Large metal tool boxes lined the back wall as heavy machinery hung from the roof, their purpose unknown to the average bystander. The air was thick with the smell of grease and the acidic flavor of rust. The florescence lights dangled from the ceiling, each painfully bright as they cast their hues, yet despite this strong light, the garage was somehow dark, with shadows that lurked around every corner. On a dirty workbench, sat a small feminine figure, long black hair tied back into a messy ponytail, her legs hung off the side as her feet dangled in the air, not quite tall enough to both sit upon the workbench and touch the floor at the same time. A grease stained white tank top barely covered her flawless porcelain skin, the thin lines that ran down from her ears, to glide along her high cheek bones, to fall down to her neck and disappear into her chest were the work of art, a master class in Chrome. A lit cigarette hung at the corner of her lips, a long trail of ashes had built at the tip. Her doll like beauty was broken up by her grotesques arms, overly large for her slim frame, they were rusted and appeared almost cobbled together and some parts looked missing, including many of the panels. Exposed wiring and servos were shown to the world and not an once of synthskin had been applied to any of the surfaces. In her right hand, she held a small power driver that she was driving into her left wrist, the servos let out loud whines to accompany the metallic growls of the driver as an occasional spark shot out to fall to the cement. Every few seconds, Yuna would stop to test her hand, opening and closing it, before she would bring the driver back in for more work. Her dark eyes flashed blue as her internal systems ran diagnostics, the information projected right onto her retina.

A small sky blue car rolled up to the garage, but Yuna gave it no mind as she continued her work. The door to the car opened as a figure tried to get out, they let out a heavy grunt, placed their massive hands onto the roof of their vehicle and then pulled, prying themselves free as the roof dented in from the force. The figure, an equally massive Orc, reached back into the car to smack the roof, the sheer force of his blow righting the dents, a practiced blow as if the man had done it a thousand times before. The orc was an odd, terrifying sight, as if someone had chopped him clean in half and then replaced one half with a grotesque machine parody of what came before. This 'line' carried all the way down, his left half, all that was visible, was entirely mechanical while his right looked 'normal', or, well, as normal as an orc could be. His cybertech looked almost 'crude', large pipes emerged from his back to release fumes into the air whenever he breathed, a red light served as his eye, the red glare very eerie as it pierced the night sky. The large, heavily muscled orc was... dressed rather well. Loafers, slackers, an ironed button up shirt and a simple black sweater vest that looked like it would explode into scrap if the orc so much as bent or flexed. His heavy footsteps seemed to echo in the garage as the sharply dressed, half-machnical abomination approached Yuna, "Boss," he said in way of greeting, his tone rather proper for how guttural his voice was.

"Hold this," Yuna said, as she pointed towards a series of wires that hung loosely near her forearm.

The large orc, with surprisingly dexterity, gripped the wires and pulled them up, as Yuna dug beneath them with the driver to get to work on a spot she could not reach easily before.

"Did you hear what happened?" The orc asked as he tried, and failed, to catch Yuna's gaze.

"Yes," Yuna said as she handed the driver to the orc to hold for a moment as she, finally, flicked the ashes free from her cigarette and then went back to work, "Hope the rigs are fine."

"Those Wheels did have some nice rides," the orc agreed as he handed the wires to Yuna when she motioned for them as she started to reconnect them, "What's our play?"

As Yuna connected the last wire, she flexed her left hand once again, after a few goes, she set down her the driver next to her, satisfied. She reached up and gently touched the orcs face with the palm of her newly repaired hand, "How much do you have left?" She asked, the blue faded from her eyes as she took stock of her lieutenant.

The orc swallowed, his gaze turned down and to the corner, "A few days," he mumbled almost embarrassed.

Yuna offered the orc a small smile and patted his cheek, "I'll get you some more."

"Thanks, Boss," the orc said as he tried to smile, but the pistol in his metallic jaw gave off a hiss and the smile came out as more of a snarl.

"We'll expand into the open territories, see if we can't find some new chrome and rides, perhaps grab a few new bodies as well," Yuna said as she flicked her cigarette to the ground and pulled out another.

"It's all open, Boss. Everyone's going to be scrambling to try and take it all," the orc said as he gazed out the garage, to the skyline dominated by immense buildings and lights. A sea of concrete, steel and blood. A city of broken dreams and shattered ideals.

"No one takes Arcadia," Yuna said as she snapped her fingers, the metal scrapping and sparking to light the tip, "this city takes you. Only fools believe otherwise, we will do as we always have done. Take as many rigs and chrome as we can and enjoy the ride," she said as her eyes followed his to the city, "There is a nice chop shop down on 6th I've always had my eye on and without the Wheels around, we might as well make ourselves available."

Whatever the orc was about to say was cut off by the roar of an engine, an unfamiliar engine. The pair looked towards the door as a sleek black car descended from the heavens, blue flames erupted from thrusters under the wheel wells as the vehicle perched down. The engine rolled once and came to a stop as a small head poked out the window, "Heya~" Long white hair with vibrant streaks of color spilled all around her.

"Is that... Is that a Skyline?" the Orc said as moved towards it, "Where did you get it?"

"Skyline? Please," the woman said as she rolled her eyes and climbed out the window to drop to the ground, "This baby is a Sky Bolt," her light voice was almost giddy as she moved foot to foot, as if ready to burst.

"Bullshit," the orc grumbled as he stomped over to her, "ArchTech only made a few hundred Sky Bolts."

"I know! Isn't it amazing! And this baby is all mi-ours!" She said, "Just imagine it, Ironsides, we can cruise anywhere we want. Any-fucking-where. She handles like a dream and that thrust. God, what I wouldn't give for a man who could thrust like she does."

"Where did you get it, Pixie?" Yuna said, still perched on her workbench, as she eyed the small woman who was barely half the size of Ironside.

"Oh," the woman, Pixie, said as she played with her hair and rubbed a strand of red hair between her fingers, "There was this auction... And so I bought it!"

"How much?" Yuna asked as she closed her eyes, already knowing the answer.

"Well, all of it," Pixie said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world, "But look at her," she said as she ran her hand over the hood, "This is a Sky Bolt. When are we ever going to get another chance at a rig this chrome?"

"All of it?" Ironside said as he rubbed his forehead, the metal squeaking under the motion, "What are we supposed to do for creds, Pixie?"

"Fuck, I don't know, rob someone, Christ. Give me five fucking minutes, I'll drive this baby over, pop some fucker in the back and take his shit, be back here in no time, what's the big deal?" Pixie said as she stomped the ground, "This is a Sky Bolt. A fucking Sky. Bolt. Back me up on this, Yun since metal brain doesn't get it."

Yuna slowly opened her eyes as they flashed blue once more as she scanned the ride. It was a Sky Bolt, legitimate. It had value. She pushed herself off the workbench to the ground and approached Pixie.

"Come on Yun, this is a great deal, trust me," Pixie pleaded as she wiggled back and forth, "Just give her a drive, once you do, you'll fall in love."

"Ironside," Yuna said as she drew up, "Send out word that there is going to be a race."

"Hell yeah, Yun! We can't lose with this baby-" Pixie said as she jumped in place but was interrupted by Ironside, "With what purse? We have no creds."

"You're looking at it," Yuna said as she ran her hand over the hood.

"No, no fucking way, I just got her," Pixie said as her cheeks puffed out in a pout.

"And you'll earn her, you're racing," Yuna said as she reached out to Pixie, the smaller woman flinched for a second as the cold metal hand touched her cheek, "Don't let me down, Pixie, now give me the keys, I want to drive."

Grey Days - Abandoned Catacombs on Behance

The cemetery was a gloomy place. Most of the graves here were from four centuries ago; indeed, the grandchildren of most buried here were dead. The upkeep was poor, and nature had long since merged the bodies of those buried here with the wilderness. It was practically a forest. Nobody came here, except maybe a few rebellious teens taking puffs of toxicity in secret. That was exactly why Aoma had chosen it.

The man had dressed appropriately for such a dark place. Leather jacket and jeans, big boots tipped with iron. Then again, nobody would expect to see a family on vacation at this place. He walked along a row of gravestones, making his way towards the entrance to a crypt. Dusty, damp; nobody had set foot in decades. But it was soon to be a very busy place. A headquarters, in fact.

The Tarot Club

A pure buffoon skips toward his doom.
An abyss of profound uncertainties.
It takes a Fool to seed that womb
With all possible, possibilities.

~

In a room somewhere in the sewers near the Aquifer, there's a round table with 3 thrones. The center throne was empty while the other two had figures already occupying it. A turquoise-haired boy with a white mask sat to the left and opposite of him sat a dark-skinned man with cat ears surrounded by floating golden dust.

Frey lazily slumped on his seat as he looked at Temperance patiently sitting opposite of him with his eyes closed. "So....."

"No. Once again, names are forbidden in the Tarot Club. You will never know mine and I will never know yours."

"I know! Jeez, just asking." Frey raised his hands in surrender before quickly sitting up properly as a raven appeared out of nowhere. It headed to the empty throne in the center and transformed into a person wearing a top hat and a monocle sitting comfortably in the throne. The two tarot club members immediately stood up and bowed at The Fool in greeting.

"The Tower greets The Fool."
"Temperance greets The Fool."

Amon smiled and gestured for them to take a seat. "Excuse me for my untimely arrival and making you wait, my tarots. The winds whispered something in my ear and I had to verify its authenticity."

"No problem, m'Lord." Temperance replied and Tower nodded in reply.

"We wouldn't have this meeting for long since we're busy. We just relocated headquarters and although there's always intrigue in Arcadia, there's a surge with what happened to the 4 gangs. The structure of this city will change and we're taking our share of the pie. Now, I have a mission for the both of you."

"Tower, you will expand our intelligence network through the cyberspace. We need to weave a web of information around Arcadia." A card materalized in front of Frey containing the details of his mission and the intelligence that Amon received earlier.

"Temperance, you will trade the intelligence with BioAsp Incorporated and The Red Hounds. I trust that you will get us a good deal." Another card materialized in front of Temperance.

"Leave it to me, Lord Fool."
"I will not disappoint, m'Lord."

Amon smiled in satisfaction as he adjusted his monocle and the cards broke down into motes of light before flying to the foreheads of each member. The information is now safely stored in their minds.

"Does anybody have anything to bring forward?" Both members shook their head.

"In that case, this meeting is adjourned. We will reconvene next week, usual time. Until then, my tarots." Amon transformed into a raven wearing a monocle and flew away.

Tower and Temperance looked at each other before the latter broke the silence. "Au revoir, Tower. We will meet again in the next meeting with news of success of our missions."

He then shifted into a black cat with gold eyes and left the room. Only Frey was left in the room who slumped back on his throne and deliberated on the details of his mission.

"Do you smell that, kitten?"

"Smell what?"

"Opportunity!"

"I thought that was Mrs. Romania's cooking."

Yun Eun couldn't help but chuckle. He sat at the bar sipping on a glass of soju while the Cheshire acted as a bartender, washing a glass to poor herself a drink. Sarcasm was the enforcer's response to just about anything. It had annoyed the hell out of her superiors in The Elites but The Hatter just found it amusing. All bark no bite he'd tease, knowing full well it wasn't true.

"Lucy! I'm home!" I woman's voice called out from the stairs leading to the main café. The Red Queen slid down the banister and skipped over to the two. "Lookie what I got!" She bragged, placing on the counter a necklace with a glowing green gem.

"Ah! The Amulet of Narzhul!" The Hatter put down his shotglass and picked up the jewelry, dangling it in the air to examine it. "What did it cost us?"

"Got it pretty cheap actually." The Red Queen bragged, sliding onto The Hatter's lap. "We do owe the auction house a favor though." She added. Noticing Cheshire pouring a glass the Queen snatched it from her and started to drink.

Cheshire just stared at her for a moment before muttering "Bitch" under her breath. Not quiet enough though.

"Slut!" The Queen shot back.

"Psychopath!"

"Ladies! Ladies!" Hatter called out. "As much as I'd love to see a cat fight we've got other matters to attend to." He then pulled out some papers and handed them to the girls. "I've got jobs for you."

In the dark of the night, there was an ephemeral glow from the dilapidated warehouse, the bluish light pulsing as if alive. Depending on where you stood amongst the mishmash of buildings, the light either remained hidden or was easily visible so was the nature of the hastily, cobbled together and run down district that was Tent City.

Originally the home of itinerant werewolves, witches and vampires, in the Dark Ages, who simply pitched up their tents and wagons on the outskirts of town and refused to leave to the more recent War of the Worlds of the 19th century, in which great sorcerers and powerful cyborgs did battle for control of Arcadia, Tent City an appropriate staging ground or holding point for the soldiers and their tents in the grand conflict.

Or so goes the local legends and rumours. Either way, the sodden and malformed district is not somewhere you stay for long hence the name, Tent City.

Still for others it was an actual choice, and within the warehouse there was a gathering going on by one of the many gangs of the greater Megacity. With Pixie punks fluttering about the rooftop armed with SMG's and Puca thugs guarding every door, with lanterns and bats, The Hinky Punks did not want any one crashing this meeting.

Bronc gripped his cigarette between his teeth, cocking his head to the side as he precariously lit yet another Cowboy Killer™ by his lanterns flame. He gulped down the tarry fumes eagerly, the acrid smell mixing with the scent of the hirsute hoodlums own burning hair, the wretched thing covered from head to tail in thick black hair. Flicking his long ear from side to side to douse the cinders, he breathed the smoke out of his nostrils in one big exhalation, the Pwca reminiscent of an angry horse.

Lifting his lantern skyward, he spoke into his cochlear implant, the cybernetic doubling as a two way radio. "How's it lookin up there?" Wearing just a wife beater and some frayed jeans, Bronc was glad he had brought his Brat this time around for guard duty, as he looked to the roof.

"All's clear kzzt Just us and kzzt the rats" came the message from above.

Salvia's fluttering wings gave the simple radio chat much unwanted feedback with Bronc's grimacing down the line clearly evident. Sliding her piece into her white puffer jacket, as well as her hands, she scanned the horizon for any signs of trouble. Dressed in a shiny red leather corset, matching short shorts and fishnet stockings Salvia looked like she was ready for a night out in the Arcadia clubs. Sadly for the Pixie, work came first but it didn't mean she had to like it. Tapping the heel of her stilletto, she looked down through the skylight and grumbled.

Inside the warehouse, the excited chatter was reaching it's crescendo, the balls of light within eagerly talking amongst themselves even with the momentary leave of the inciting Jack. However to anyone else, the noise sounded like a silent murmur or a gentle breeze, the spirits soft spoken on their best day and nigh unintelligible every other.

A metallic clang broke through the riotous chatter, followed by another, the two noises quickly taken the rhythm of footsteps as two automatons stepped out of the shadows. Looking like steel skeletons, the two machine's chest's glowed from within with a burning radiance and each sported a custom frame With a grinding whir, the lucid orange bot, his chest cavity carved into a cross, spoke. "As you can see the boss has been busy, forging us these frames. For now only Will, myself and Fox here have one.."

The robot thumbed towards his fellow, the green glow of his chest, lighting up his elaborate fox mask as well his twin pistols. "The benefits of leadership I suppose" Even with the mechanical flat voice of his frame masking it, Jack was obviously smug. "Don't you lot worry though, your all going to be getting one soon enough. But first The Smith needs more resources so we're setting up shop around town. Some of you lot are gonna stay here and help him set something up, the rest of you are with me and Fox"

Much to Jack's pleasure, the boss was his usual uncaring self and had giving the two lieutenants autonomy in what fronts they established. Not having a clue what Fox wanted to do with his share, Jack was just happy to be able to set up something he had been dreaming of for most of his life, and a good portion of his time in this unliving Limbo, and that was a bloody brilliant bar.

"No longer are we going to be the dainty delivery boys for all the big wigs out there. Thanks to The Smith, we can finally take our piece of Arcadia!"

"It's another fine and friendly day here in Arcadia City, Friends. For those just tuning in, this is Station Z00R3, the Splongz with your host disk jockey, Admiral U'tzveratz, your very friendly half orc pal in a small little box."

A loud sound of applause plays out in quite a row before immediately cutting off after a few moments.

"Thank you. Thank you. You're all far too kind. Especially you over there trying to throw some undergarments at me. Maybe after the show."

An obnoxious chuckle before a few odd ball sound effects are played.

"So in big news, there was a wild and crazy race of some kind on the I52 Last night. No fatalities were reported, but there was definitely lots of property damage. Looks like C-Turn just got themselves a new contract of dozen. Zingo/Zango my friends."

Suddenly a more somber music plays.

"And now, my friends, a moment of silence for all those lost and forgotten souls that hadn't found their way back from the abyss. For only 2 Credits a month, you can help those in need by donating to Himiko Corp and make the streets just a little friendlier.

A moment of silence passes before a loud and obnoxious farting noise is heard.

"You heard that noise ladies and germs. Its now time for prank calls. First up its......."

The radio is switched off as a hand taps the table.

"Ugh. I really hate the guy."

Detective Hitoshi sipped another gulp from his room temperature coffee. It was that soy based stuff and not the real thing. But it was hard to get the good stuff in this political climate and it was more that he needed the caffeine than anything else.

The radio switched back on as the munching sound of a donut could be heard loudly through an open mouth.

"Yeah? Well I like it."

Dunmire chuckled at Hitoshi's annoyance as he sipped his own piping hot coffee that was almost certainly spiked with some Hot Grog from his flask. The coffee wasn't going to be that warm on its own after all.

"Fine. Anything found yet from cross referencing the information we gathered?"

"Nothin'. Nothing from the lab boys, nothing from the snitches and nothing from ballistics or the crime lab. Its all one big fat zero."

Hitoshi stroked his chin as he listened to the read off from Dunmire. It's strange that nothing came back yet. Perhaps he'd have to dig a bit deeper through his own contacts. Not that he thought that Dunmire would be attempting to sabotage the case, just that his contacts weren't as good.

Chemlords Apartment Complex.jpg
Chemlords

The Ziggurat stood silent after so many years of gang violence and mayhem. Its halls and corridors seemed more ordered as repair drones moved about fixing the building and bringing sections back online that had to be abandoned before. People were even moving into the vast complex, taking up the offer of rentals that had seemingly opened up overnight with a new rental office established. No one could ignore there were gang tags though, the ominous gasmask emblem of the Chemlords marked the entire complex as their domain. A few gangs had tried to poke at moving in with the takeover but found the chem-roided gangers organized to an almost frightening extent as they repelled any efforts to challenge their control of the Ziggurat.

Up high in a refurbished penthouse, King Orlock looked out at Arcadia from behind his mask lenses. The main members of his gang had gathered including two recent joiners that had proven themselves. Zigs and Viti were a lot more strongly built and sporting the telltale implants of the Chemlords. Zigs had kept his hairstyle but had adjusted his gutterpunk look to something more militaristic mirroring King Orlock a little. Viti had more chrome to her bald head but in a more artistic if jagged pattern, her implants all metallic as well which was amusing considering she was rapidly positioning herself to be Orlock's new spymaster. Rezzaka was lounging back looking irritable after her failure to win the street race. Malzabrax was looking over a datapad, accounting for their sales after they'd cleaned out all the drugs from the Ziggurat.

"We have our fortress, now we must make ourselves more felt in this city," King Orlock said as he clasps his arms behind himself, continuing to stare out at Arcadia.

"You need to hit something then, boss," Zigs said from his seat, trying to fix his hair spikes. "Folks are only going to recognize us if they know we hit like a freight train."

"He's got a point," Malzabrax admits with a sigh as he sets down his datapad. "Most folks only remember we were the Claw's lapdogs until now."

"So we make it loud and flashy. Something to show the Chemlords aren't on a damn leash anymore," Rezzaka growls and bunches her muscles a little, eager for violence in service to their cause like always.

"Our source says the HimikoCorp Docks are ripe for a raid. We're positioned to make a move and seize some manpower and who knows what other goodies," Viti notes as she puts her hands behind her head with a smirk. "It tells the corpos not to ignore us too. That they should consider employing us rather than thinking we'll just sit on our hands.

"We also need to make it clear the Ziggurat is ours," Zigs points out with a grumble considering it was his home before the takeover. "The dealers in the city around it need to be buying from us alone. We need a perimeter of control."

King Orlock just nods some before he looks towards the others. He was the largest figure in the room, heavily enhanced with his own cocktail of chems pumping through his system. His implants a closed network to prevent anyone hacking it without a direct plugin. That meant getting close to him which was a terrible mistake for most. He takes a seat in a new chair sized for his bulk and steeples his gloves hands.

"Rezzaka, I'm leaving the HimikoCorp Docks to you. Make it loud and ugly. Consult with Viti about our Intel we've bought from our new friends to make sure things go accordingly. Malzabrax, I want you to take care of the Dealer Shakedown, consult with Zigs as he knows this area better. I'll handle us building a new Mod Clinic into the Ziggurat. It should generate some income and parts, aside from giving us a secure location to enhance gangers," King Orlock ordered with a certainty that showed his mind definitely wasn't addled by whatever chems made him the physical powerhouse he had chosen to be.

The gangers nodded and moved to depart, knowing they had been dismissed now that their King had issued his orders. Orlock turned his seat to look back out at Arcadia even as he considered matters. The collapse of the Big Four was too convenient for his liking, but he had to jump on that while he could. He had an empire to forge within this city and he had countless teachers to pull from. His collection of book had already arrived, his bookcase full of collectors pieces and replicas, penned by some of the greatest military and political minds of this world. He intended to use that knowledge to full effect and make himself a power in this city that few would be willing to cross easily.

Actions
1. Operation: HimikoCorp Docks Raid (Rezzaka)
Having bought intel from a reliable source, Rezzaka is being dispatched with gangers to attack the HimikoCorp Docks to seize their 'volunteers' and offer them a new life as members of the gang that has come in to save them. More so the gang is doing this to show it has power in the city and is not longer controlled by the fallen Big Four.

2. Operation: Dealers Shakedown (Malzabrax)
Malzabrax has been tasked with shaking down the drug dealers in the perimeter around the Ziggurat to force all of them to buy exclusively form the Chemlords now that they control the Ziggurat itself. The Chemlords are installing a Mod Clinic into the Ziggurat to provide local medical services and provide a home location to modify their gang members.

The Wonderland Club

Inside the music was booming, the base shaking one to the very bones. There were cushy seats and round tables scattered about with people sitting and eating, girls and guys in bunny suits walking around taking orders and delivering dishes, a bar with white bunnygirl tending to it, and a balcony overlooking a packed dancefloor down below, with stairs leading down to it on either side.

The dance floor itself had a large stage at the center of it, a single pole raising up to the ceiling with flashing lights and lasers shining down below, as well as suspended cages with scantily clad girls dancing inside. On the far end was the DJ booth, with massive speakers all around. And on all sides benches and tables to rest at and stairs leading off to different levels.

Suddenly the music came to a stop and the lights went out. After a few seconds everything turned back on, but this time the lights were aimed at the center stage, where there was now a large chair. In it sat Yun Eun with a large hat on his head, and lounging across his lap was Lilith. She swung her legs around and stood up, strutting to one side, her tail swaying back and forth behind her, as the man hopped up and skipped to the edge of the stage. "Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to the Wonderland club!" He called out, his voice echoing from the speakers around the building as he took off his hat and took a bow. "I'm the Mad Hatter and this lovely kitten by my side is the Cheshire, and we'll be your host and hostess for the evening! And may we just wish you all a very happy unbirthday!"

A cheer ran through the crowd and the Cheshire stepped forward. "In celebration of our grand opening the Flower Garden, up the stairs on the right, is open to all you unbirthday boys and girls out there! But remember the rules! The bunnies are for watching only, no touching! Our card soldiers on the other hand, whom I'm sure some of you have noticed mingling in the crowd, are available to dance as dirty as you desire! They're even available for private dances if the price is right, but be careful! The better the card the higher the cost!"

"Now I know what you're all thinking." The host picked back up. "Just get on with it already! I hear you! I do! But before we get started can I get a round of applause for DJ Jaberwok!" The crowd erupted into cheers once more as the DJ waved from his both and scratched the records.

"Now for the moment you've all been waiting for!" Cheshire announced, raising her right hand. "They're fire and ice!"

"They're oil and water!" Mad Hatter chimed in, raising his left. "Ladies and gents, we give you..."

They then both motioned towards the center where the chair sat and called out together "...The Red and White Queens!"

The lights went out once more and when they turned back on the chair, Hatter, and Cheshire were gone and in their place stood two women, one dressed in a red corset the other in white lace. They stalked around the pole once, blowing kisses to the crowd before beginning their routine, both dancing on the same pole.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Well I think that was a killer opening!" The Hatter called out as he flung open the door to his office, sliding over to the desk and spinning the chair around once before plopping down. Lilith just rolled her eyes as she came in behind him. He kicked his feet up on the desk and she took position next to Gwenn by the one way window that looked down on the dance floor. She watched in silence the crowds below as they swayed to the music and cheered on the two dancers as they preformed an advanced z-seat on the pole and transitioned into a double handspring.

"That is so creepy." Gwenn said with an excited giggle. "I'm watching myself dance! And none of the sheeple realize that I'm not there!"

"I am quite good at what I do." Yun Eun chuckled and waved his fingers in the air, sending the illusionary dancers spiraling into a complex move. The crowd cheered again and Gwenn giggled once more, but Lilith seemed unimpressed.

"Why did you call for us?" She asked, jumping straight into business as she turned away from the window. Gwen rolled her eyes as the fun was interrupted and continued to watch the show.

"To talk business of course!" The Hatter said, sitting up straight and pulling out several papers, scattering them across the desk. Lilith took some of them and started thumbing through as Yun Eun continued talking. "First I want to do something about The Silk Door. It's barely keeping its head above water right now. I'd like to turn it into something profitable."

"I can do that." The Red Queen offered, coming over and wrapping her arms around Yun Eun's shoulders.

Lilith put down her stack of papers and gathered up the rest. "And this Oculus Futurum?"

"You will handle that. It's an old fortune teller's hut on the edge of central park that the Elites have forgotten about. We just need to shine it up a bit and we'll have the perfect place to gather intel."

"Intel? From fortune telling?" Gwenn probed, slipping into his lap.

"Of course! No better way to know what's going on then prying into the future of others." This caused Lilith to raise a brow but she refrained from saying anything.

"What about that Amulet of the Lost?" Gwenn asked. "I know it caught your eye."

"All in good time." Was his answer.

Lilith meanwhile reached the last few pages. "Cynthia Alison?"

"Yes. I'm hoping she'll become our White Queen." Yun Eun explained. "She's got a talent for charm magic and will be in charge of maintaining our public image. I'm currently working on roping her in and I think I've almost got her. I'm also going to be spending some time doing some rituals so do be careful going down into the basement."

Lilith nodded. "Is that all?"

"I do believe so."

"I'll get to work then." Lilith said, the air rippling as she vanished into thin air.

The chamber was a small space for the meeting, even if there were only four of them in the room. A hunched figure in the corner, half-shielded from view by urns and decrepit crates but nevertheless visible by the glow underneath his skin. A figure clothed in literal veils of darkness that made it impossible to see his face. The mage in the center of the room, fiddling with a ring on his finger anxiously. And one of the scrawnier noccults, who was clutching a pen and a clipboard, hoping to get out of sight, the sooner, the better.

"Ahhh...so many projects to complete, so little time..." Bezoi grinned mockingly. "If only we had more people to accomplish our goals, we could-"

"Stop fooling around. This is a precarious time and we need to stay on point." Aoma flicked a tiny arc of energy at the man. A tiny sting, and a warning of what was to come if he didn't stop fooling around. "Things are hanging in balance here. A few more months of inaction and we'll be run out and crushed underfoot like so many ants."

Bezoi, mock hurt and only a little wary, hurled an urn lid at the mage in the center, smashing against the floor and shattering into hundreds of pieces. "Oh well, at least we'll have this for a few months more. So much stuff to destroy! It's wonderful, it really is..."

A light breeze became a tight little whirlwind, blowing through and past the urns, the jars filled with mummified remains, and the rotting weapons that had been stored with their wielders. Before Aoma calmed down, a few of the shards were flung by the wind. A small, muffled scream from the noccult in the corner, whose arm was now bleeding. The shadows masking the creature beneath parted briefly for the chunks of ceramic, revealing golden hair, pale skin— before the shadows crashed together once more to hide the figure underneath.

"Ah, you see. This is why we are not already crushing the opposition. Your temper, your inability to control your third-in-command. Rein in those emotions. Let them out when they are needed." A raspy voice came from the still-mending darkness. "You'll get the rest of us killed—but not before mutually-assured destruction."

The tempers inside Aoma flared, but he took the shapeshifter's advice and resolved on waiting. He couldn't care for these two more than he cared for the incompetent noccult in the corner, who whimpered as it picked flecks of ceramic from its arm. Bezoi was a wild card, who knew that, at this vital and precarious time, he was unexpendable and therefore protected from punishment. And Hallas, who saw all. Always right in his own smug way, and unlike the crazed pyromancer, a thinker. The shapeshifter always made moves carefully. Aoma was sure that, in a year or so, Hallas would remain his number two, even if there were better candidates.

Keep your friends close, your enemies closer. Except when your enemies are also your friends.

Fox pulled back the curtain and entered the dark room at the back of the bridal shop, the silken shawl falling back into place and giving him the solitude he sought. With happy hopefuls and brides to be graciously tended to by his consummate staff, the automaton assassin knew he would not be disturbed.

Getting to his knees, he gently cupped the sitting candle in his hands and bowed before it, the flames of his being lighting the wick a gentle green. Taking a moment, he looked up at the portrait on the wall, the candles light not yet enough to reveal it in all it's splendour. Stepping off the cushion, he turned around and lit the candle behind him in exactly the same way, bowing before the barely visible picture, repeating the ritual ten more times as he went from side to side and candle to candle.

With each lit candle, more and more of the room was revealed, potted plants to instil peace, hanging scrolls of practiced calligraphy, refined again and again to masterpieces and above it all was a stalwart shimenawa, the reputed rope circling and consecrating this personal shrine, his ancestors watching over it from the dangling o-fuda, paper amulets, that hung over each of their portraits.

With the final candle lit, Fox turned to the Kamidana at the room's head, it's offerings of stagnant water, fermented sake and mould encrusted bread and twigs of little comfort to those who looked down on him. From noble Zenko to trickster Nogitsune, none would be happy with his offerings but there was only one opinion that mattered to him. Putting his metal finger to the mouth of his mask, he drew them over the long faded photo, before placing it back in the centre of his shrine with his other prized mementos, his twin pistols. Mother. Father. he silently called, putting each of his pistols to his chest in turn, the pearly pair of scarlet accented sidearms crossed over his heart. Guide my hands..

The flames of his chest ebbed, before flickering and blazing anew. Putting his arms to his side, he swept back a hanging scroll and left out of the secret tunnel..

Pixie pulled her new Sky Bolt 8000 into the garage, her previous baby left in the capable hands of Yuna as Pixie rode high on her victory. The only blemish of the night had been that no one had died and that she, personally, failed to kill any of them. The only thing better then a race, was winning a race as she dragged the broken body of the losers as they became nothing more then red smears on the tarmac. But her baby was all hers! Pixie let out a girlish squeal as she patted the dashboard and bounced in her seat. She leaned back into the seat, the real Corinthian leather, not that synth leather crap, real cows died to make this beauty, and breathed in that new car smell, not just any new car, a Sky Bolt 8000 smell. Few people got to smell that smell, those that did were wealthy pricks or drug lords, but none of them imagined that a lowly street rat like her had a ride just as nice as theirs and once they were done with it, it would be even faster.

She looked to her rear view mirror as calls pulled into the garage behind her, her old ride and Ironsides small... 'thing' that she refused to see as an actual ride. Pixie hopped out and skipped over, "See Yun, what did I tell you? Was like taking candy from stupid, fat, very ugly, babies."

"Ironside, what was our take?" Yuna asked as she almost slithered out of the muscle car, sliding out of it's window with an almost eerie grace.

"We're at a loss," Ironside said as his eyes flashed blue as he ran the numbers, "Betting ended up a wash, and the pink slips and entrance fees we collected are worth barely half the price of the Sky Bolt."

"Who cares about that?" Pixie said as she shot the large orc daggers, "We have a Sky Bolt, we had fun, we showed this city that we are the Queens of the fucking street and we got a few bucks back for our efforts. Not bad in a nights work."

"Pixie," Yuna said from her perch on the muscle car's roof, "We need those creds to set ourselves up."

"Yun, look, with this baby, we can do whatever. the. fuck. we. want. Whose gonna stop us? They can't even catch us, I can go out right now and steal some rides and make the money back like that," she said as she snapped for emphasis.

"Then do it," Yuna said as she watched the smaller woman with her doll like eyes.

"... Right now?" Pixie asked, "But.. I just got.."

"Like that," Yuna mocked and snapped, "Right? Should take no time at all."

Pixie looked over to Ironside who wore an ugly grin on her face before she threw up her hands, "Fine, I got the Sky Bolt, I won the race, but it's fine, whatever, Pixie has to do everything around here," she grumbled as she hopped into her Sky Bolt to look for prime targets.

Ironside watched the Sky Bolt until it disappeared into the distance, beyond even what his eye could see, "What's the plan, boss?"

"Don't got one, I got a note," Yuna said then pulled out a small paper note and held it in the air with a raised eyebrow.

"Paper?" Ironside asked as he walked over, his heavy footsteps thudding against the concrete, "Classy," he said as he turned the note in his hand which was absolutely tiny, "M?"

"M," Yuna confirmed.

"Know who that is?" Ironside asked as he looked down at his boss, even perched on the muscle car, her head still only came to his shoulders.

"No," she said with a shrug, her ugly mechanical arms hissing as she did so, the exposed wires flexing and bending with the movement, "But we will soon. You're going."

The orc pressed his mouth tight, the jagged teeth and metal fillings sticking out like a crocodile as he processed the information, he thought about rejecting but... no one rejected Yuna. If she said it was so, it was so, "Okay boss."

Yuna looked at him for a few moments before she nodded and patted his shoulder, the weight of the blow nearly made Ironside's knees buckle, "I'll have your pills for you when you get back."

"Bloody hell 004 you crazy bastard! You're still living?" Batham looked in astonishment at the robot in front of him. This was an old friend and colleague that had seemed to drop off the face of the planet and just showed back up like it was nothing!

"Indeed, I decided to take a retreat for a time and do some minor repair and upgrade to my body. In doing so I have made myself ten percent more efficient at assassinations, shooting, and all out fighting," the robot's dark metal arms rested on the sword and pistol at its waist, conveying a sense of constant threat as if it was second nature.

'This thing got even more dangerous?! It was already bloody likely to kill anyone who it was tasked to, no matter who they were!' The gang lord shivered slightly before forward his other lieutenants and pointing to them in turn. "Four, meet Iota-1920 and I'm sure you remember Ash? They are the other lieutenants you'll be working beside, I want you to show them the ropes of how running a gang goes cause for the most part we are winging it at the moment."

At seeing the bot's nod Batham turned and waved all three to follow him, quickly leading them from the main floor of their assembly line to a hidden set of stair, taking them down into the actual headquarters. He took his position at the head of a model of the city and waved them into their seats as well.

"Onto business then lads, we have a steady business of credits, cheap manpower, and tech thanks to the fronts we set up but its not enough, I want to start taking over these three blocks and turning them into a cash cow for us," he used string to tie off the three blocks in question, the one in the center holding their current shop. "From there we can expand our own businesses and charge protection money for those in our territory. Ash, get some of the boys out on the streets going around what is nominally our territory and start asking for some protection money, they refuse to pay break a leg or two but don't cause to much of a scene. Iota, I want another shop set up asap, and for hell's sake don't kill more people, press them into our service as cheap fodder. Four, I want you to familiarize yourself with the newest borders that are being established, everything's changed since you were last part of the game and I don't want you blindsided because you thought you were in friendly territory. Get moving you lot and get to work."

Batham ignored the other's words as they left and turned back to the model, letting his mind drift to the recent communication that he had received. 'Another one wants to swear allegiance to us eh? Might be nice to get another lieutenant I suppose, just got to hope they will be worth something.'

Amon was sitting comfortably on top of a building as he watched the Wind Spots leave the racing tracks with dejection. He chuckled as he played with the fool tarot card in his hands. Their intentions were so bare that he couldn't help but take advantage of it to get some small profits. This should teach them a lesson next time to be more careful. Another bonus from this play of his is that the participant he saved owes the club a favor now. Perhaps she'll join their ranks and be given a tarot card but that will have to be in the future. Amon disappeared as a raven flew from where he was sitting.

"My poor boy, are you still hungry?" Temperance knelt in front of a skinny boy with a torn shirt. The boy just smiled at him and nodded. Temperance smiled back and took out a burger from his pocket and stuffed it at the boy's pocket. "Here, this is for you, ok? Don't tell the rest, it's our little secret."

"It's our little secret." The boy nodded.

"Where's your mom and dad?" The boy looked down with a sad expression as he shook his head. Temperance frowned and felt his heart being tugged. He hugged the boy and patted his back. "It's okay, it's okay. What's your name?"

"Peter."

"Hello, Peter. You can call me Brother Rance."

"Okay, Brother Rance!"

Temperance looked at Peter and hesitated to say something. He sighed as he made up his mind. "Peter, do you want to follow me?"

Peter smiled at Temperance and furiously nodded. "Yes, Brother Rance! Can I also eat my burger now?"

Temperance chuckled and nodded. "Okay, okay. Go play with the other kids after you're done eating. I'll find you at the end of the day."

Peter ran towards the charity as Temperance looked at his back and sighed before going back to work.

Nine Circles

Decades almost centuries spent fighting an uphill battle and now, finally, Eros was on top of that hill. He could now look down upon others and watch the city as it evolved and transformed. He had seen the news report about the deaths of the gang leaders and while he wouldn’t have let them stop him, he couldn’t deny that the path to success would be easier with them gone.

As his blimp hovered over the city he watched the millions of citizens go about their day.

One such citizen was Ebisu, trusted to handle the financial side of Nine Circles. He had a bad habit of valuing money over anything else, even his own morals, and that was why Eros trusted him. The wealth of Nine Circles hinged on Ebisu’s decisions and that was what kept the man loyal. Control over the credits.

His latest endeavor was the purchase of a hotel that would serve as a source of income as well as a way to learn the secrets of his guests. In a shiny skyscraper, he met with the owner of the property to finalize their dealings together. “You hear about the stirring in the underworld?” The question caught Ebisu by surprise and he looked up over his glasses to stare at the man. “They say that some gang leaders are dead and that the whole city is going crazy.” With a heavy sigh, Ebisu signed Eros’ signature across the dotted line and then leaned back into the seat.

“What about it? You trying to tell me that you’re throwing your name into the hat or something?” Ebisu’s question shocked the man and he quickly tried to regain his composure. “N-No not at all. Just wondering if...you and your lot were going to?”

The CFO of Nine Circles stood up and smirked as he rounded his chair and started towards the exit. “No, of course not. We are legitimate businessmen and women, we want nothing to do with gangs and the like.” He pulled open the large, ornate door and spared a brief glance back at the man. “As always, Eros thanks you for your cooperation.” The white haired gang member bowed his head and took his leave.

Back on board the Blimp, Hel was busy looking over the gang’s assets and resources. Eros had made two too many comments about her beginning to lack usefulness and that meant she had to find some way to intrigue him again. Unlike Ebisu she was not a victim of Eros’ game of desires; no she was a sensible woman who saw Eros as a means to an end. He was her key to a better life and security from her past.

The chaos with the gang lords meant that soon people would be scrambling to stake their claims on the city as well as find new crime lords to follow. She couldn’t allow someone down on their luck to come and take her place.

"It's another fine and friendly day here in Arcadia City, Friends. For those just tuning in, this is Station Z00R3, the Splongz with your host disk jockey, Admiral U'tzveratz, your very friendly half orc pal in a small little box. Seriously, it's really cramped in here."

A loud sound of applause plays out in quite a row before immediately cutting off after a few moments.

"Thank you. Thank you. You're all far too kind. Especially you over there trying to throw some delicious fully cooked chicken at me. Maybe after the show."

An obnoxious chuckle before a few odd ball sound effects are played.

“In the big news of the city today, it seems that that big dilapidated apartment complex, affectionately known as The Ziggurat has been under new management. At least thats what the word on the street is. They’ve been taking in new apartment goers, its been cleaned up and there have even been clinics opening up involved with the place.

All I have to say, from the bottom of my heart…..is Thank you.”

A clip plays of awws.

“It really warms my half orc heart to see a place that crummy be used to help people instead of hurt people.”

The sound of popcorn could be heard.

“That brings us to other news. Things that are popping. The Silk Door Cafe seems to be one of the new hit places that's popular for “young people”. Its got all sorts of blitzs and swagger that will keep you coming back. And the men and most of all, the ladies, will keep you wanting more at this new restaurant.”

The sound of a car screeching.

“And that marks our………”

—-----------------------------------

Hitoshi grabbed his coat off of his chair and motioned to Dunmire. The orc was halfway through a donut when he waddled over.

“What’s the big rush, Hitoshi?”

The detective looked as though he hadn’t been getting much sleep in recent times. Clearly this explosion was weighing heavily on him.

“I have a possible lead. Theres a new gang out there that deals with secrets. Everyone’s secrets if the rumors are to be believed.”

Dumire stuffed the remainder of his donut in his mouth, but continued to speak as crumbs fell everywhere.

“And you think that they might have the lead we need?”

“Right. If you solve this case, you might be well on your way to that early retirement.”

Dumire’s face lit up. Getting to be done with cases and just lounge at home with a pension. That was truly the dream.

“Well, what are we waiting for, friendo? Let’s get going.”

The GoodYear Blimp had never seen as many guests as it did in this moment when demons and old allies of the Dark One gathered on the blimp at Eros’ summons. A small party was in full swing with a live band of mortals who were forced to play against their will. Terror filled their eyes as they attempted to serenade the guests at the party and stave off the devouring of their souls.

The guest list consisted mainly of demons and other monsters, all of which would benefit from the Dark One’s reign and supported the ideals of the ancient entity. No one knew why they were summoned here however, even those close to Eros.

But, as the incubus climbed on to the stage however, all would become clear very soon. In his hands was the famed Crown of Jilok. As the crowd fell silent, it was evident in the faces of the older creatures that only they knew what the object truly was. While the younger guests scoffed and groaned, seeing this as another vanity event for Eros.

“The Crown of Jilok.” His voice echoed softly over the crowd as everyone fell silent. “Famed ally of the Dark One. This crown represents faith and loyalty, as well as power and capability.” Eros’ eyes swept over the many faces, some familiar and some new, but he looked at them all with the same condescending expression. “It has been lost for several centuries and though the Dark One is gone, it still remains an important symbol and powerful artifact.”

Jilok had built his fame as a powerful magic user and it was believed that his crown held a portion of that power, but after his death and the fall of the Dark One the crown was lost to time. Eros had spent a great deal of time searching for it and fate was kind enough to deliver it unto him.

“The Dark One is gone and Jilok with him, but the prophecy still remains! He who wears the crown next shall finish the Dark One’s work!” heads turned among the guests as they started to whisper to one another, murmuring about what was about to happen and what the future might hold for them. Eros knelt down and Ebisu emerged from behind him. He took the crown and bowed his head to Eros. Then in a ceremonial manner, he placed the crown atop Eros’ head, cradled by his golden horns.

“I shall carry out the Dark One’s will and ensure the work is done! We will see this world change and we will have our victory!” He rose back up to his feet and wore a proud smirk from ear to ear. “There will be space for all of you in the court that I build, but only if you show your strength and loyalty.”

Suddenly the monstrous guests let out roars, battlecries, and chants. The more civilized ones clapped their hands and nodded their heads. The day that they were waiting for had finally come.

"Man, I can't believe we got the druggie." The Red Queen whined as she lay sprawled across the Hatter's lap, who hummed as he balanced a dagger on his finger. It seemed that he hadn't sold it quite hard enough to Gwen and she had declined his offer, though he had still managed to recruit an ally in the process. The Blue Caterpillar: a drug dealer that once worked for the Elites. Honestly he wasn't that good at his job, partaking in half of his own product, and neither of his lieutenants were very fond of him. Still the Hatter didn't seem too bothered by the turn of events, preferring to look at the positives. One more member meant a stronger fighting force and more people to oversee operations. Nothing negative about that. And their restaurant had been featured in the news! That was a plus!

The door to the office opened and the Cheshire stepped in. "You called for me, sir?" She asked, professional as always.

"Ah, Kitten! Yes!" The Hatter said cheerfully, flipping the dagger and catching it by the handle, ignoring how Chesh's ears laid back at the nickname. He motioned for the queen to get up as he straitened in his chair. "I've got a gift for you! Well... It's not ready yet, but I wanted to let you know it was coming."

"Okay..." Cheshire said slowly, waiting for more of an explanation. The Hatter motioned for the Red Queen again and she dipped down behind the desk, popping back up with a long case. She set it down and popped the latches, opening it up to reveal a large rifle. Ears perking up, Chesh walked over and picked up the gun. "A Crockett EBR?" She asked, turning it over in her hands.

The hatter raised a brow. "You're familiar with sniper rifles?"

"My old man was a counter-sniper before... well, before everything went to shit." The cat girl explained as she looked over the weapon. Straddling the line between assault rifle and sniper rifle, the Cavalier Arms Crockett EBR featured a burst fire mode. While it lacked the magazine capacity of a true assault rifle, and the precision of a true marksman’s weapon, it made up for it in versatility, being able to switch fluidly between a sniping role and a combat role as easy as flipping a switch. However other than a few illegal modifications she couldn't find anything special about this particular gun. "So? What's the deal?" She asked, lifting it to her shoulder and aiming down the scope.

"Well this isn't the gift." The Hatter said. "Why don't you fill her in?"

"Gladly." The Red Queen answered, happy to share her work. "Back in the Elites I was part of a team working on one 'Project Spell Slinger'. The concept of the project was to blend firearms and magic into a single weapon, capable of extending the range and accuracy of spells and magnifying the destructive power of a bullet. The biggest problem we ran into though was that each piece of ammo had to be enchanted individually which was time consuming and expensive, so we had to figure out a way around that. That was my job, and the answer I came to was Mana Rounds." With that the Red Queen held up a small clear crystal in the shape of a bullet.

"Magicite?" Cheshire asked, tilting an ear and lowering the gun. "We're shooting magicite? Isn't that going to be expensive?"

"Yes and no." Queen answered, continuing her explanation. "The magicite is more of a mold. Poor mana into it and then pull the trigger and a roughly bullet sized blast of concentrated magical energy will shoot out. It removes the need to carry around extra ammo and almost completely mitigates recoil. And depending on the type of mana you use different things could happen. For example you, Cheshie, should be able to teleport chunks of whatever you hit away."

"Alright, I'm liking what I'm hearing so far." Chesh admitted, putting the rifle back in its case and taking the bullet to examine next. "So what's the catch?"

"The catch is that its highly energy inefficient, taking two spells' worth of mana for a single shot. The lab boys and I are hoping that by extending it from a round to a clip, along with a few other tweaks, we can decrease the entropy factor by at least fifty percent."

"You're hoping?" Cheshire questioned.

"Results are inconsistent, however testing does show that increasing the purity and quantity of the magicite does decrease the overall percentage of mana needed."

"And of course we're sparing no expense for you, Kitten. You'll have the best we can produce." The Hatter piped in, standing up and taking the bullet. He held it up in the air before setting it down on the desk. "And the market will have the rest."

The Andronos

"Well lads, say hello to the newest of our lieutenants, Helios Heckran. He is rather new to this but has already proven himself to be more capable than the run of the mill boyos that we get. Ash, you're responsible for showing him the ropes so make sure he learns right or it will be your head that will roll, especially after your little stunt risking the rest of us if you got captured," the gang's leader glared at the other man with a scowl on his face, his cybernetic eye glowing a slight red color.

"I told ya boss, I wasn't expecting that damn dwarf to have the balls to call the cops!" Ash shot his response back with a scowl of his own, arms crossed as he leaned back in his seat at the table.

"And? I expect better from all of you idiots, and that means not having the cops see you whenever possible, now stop complaining or I'll give you a proper reason to complain you twat," Batham ignored the other man storming out of the room in a huff and turned to his remaining men. "Four, I want you to make an example of the Dwarf's shop. Blow it sky high and leave no one alive, full scorched earth on it."

"Affirmative, I shall leave posthaste and took several of the men with me to ensure no survivors slip away," the robotic voice of the android contained the barest hint of artificial glee to it, sending a shiver down the spine of the newest member of the group.

"Good, Iota I want you to set up another shop for us, we need to start learning some secrets about what in the worlds going on among the rest of the gangs so I want a memory chip service started up. Make sure you get the equipment set up to make an extra copy of the memories when you do it too, we might get lucky and find some info that others can use."

"Order confirmed. This unit will contact other health droids to ensure that the designated process will occur without the knowledge of those who receive our services," the repurposed medical bot spoke with only the barest hint of inflection in its voice, showcasing its own lack of a true personality matrix as a result of its rather benign origins.

"Helios, find Ash and get to work learning from him, and so help me if I find out either of you is slacking I'll let Four use you as test subjects for any of his more obscure weaponry that he wants to test out."

"Yes sir!"

Batham sighed and finally took a seat once his final order was given and the man was gone, glaring down at his map of the city. 'Now where the hell am I going to find a place to set up a shop to "destroy" magic items?'

Chemlords
Turn 3

Business was going well for the Chemlords. Gang members were coming in, swelling their ranks just as they had desired. Their good will built up in the Ziggurat has been a desired effect as they brought services and stablity to a location that had once been a war zone thanks to the constant gang wars over the valuable housing complex. King Orlock was pleased but now was they time to cement some stronger action.

-Excerpt from Private Writings of King Orlock
This city is a madhouse with the Big Four out of the way. Everyone is scrambling and scrabbling for power. I've already decided upon my course of action to ensure our production methods not only are hidden but protected by a front few would challenge. HimikoCorp has been struck and weakened at least from a public viewpoint. I must break them and turn them into something to serve our agenda. Their links to biotech will be perfect for expand pharmaceutical productions we can run through various other fronts.

It just rides upon how effectively we break them with our next very public stunt. They have to worry about their shareholders and I know just how to spook them enough that the company will feel it. We will target their scientists and seize them. We will take valuable secrets even as we ransom them off back to HimikoCorp. We'll make the seizure public and ugly to ensure the company looks weak. From there I'll have to rely upon my more subtle agents to approach the board members. They'll be given the choice to join with us, to work for us or to continue to suffer losses as we plunder them in very ugly and public manners until their so weak a competitor buys them out.

This is a gamble, but one must take risks in war to achieve results. This company is rich and powerful, but they are likely to be feeing hte damage of our raid and others targeting them. Now is the time when they will be off balace. To hit them hard to push them further. From there, we shall see where fate takes us. The die is cast and I am eager to see where it shall fall...

Actions
1. Build Front - Crucible Potion Shop
The Chemlords have opened up potion shop in the Ziggurat to open the gang and locals up to magical enchancements and substances.

2. Operation: HimikoCorp Hostages (Reazzaka, Zigs)
Rezzaka and Zigs have been tasked with a majorly aggressive operation to publicly humiliate HimikoCorp while trying to acquire information and funds from those employees they manage to seize, primarily targeting their scientific staff that the company would have a much harder time replacing or treating a expendable.

3. Secret Operation: HimikoCorp Takeover (Viti, Malzabrax)
Viti and Malzabrax have been tasked with engaged HimikoCorp in the shadows to assert the dominance and control of the Chemlords over the corporation discreetly. They intend to do this after the hopefully successful Hostage ops damages the company's public face and investing further to leave them in a vulnerable position for the gang to turn the corp into a front operation.

A hot red muscle car drifted down the track to come to a dead stop at the large warehouse at the center of the old racetrack, before the car had even fully come to a stop, a small woman flung herself out of the window to enter a somersault before springing up to her feet as she lifted her arms above her head, "I'm back bitches!" She yelled, her long ponytail was frayed but it was hard to tell if it was the roll that did it or if it was done earlier.

The woman, Pixie, held the pose for what felt like a few minutes before she lowered them and finally took a look around. Ironside was sitting in a chair, his eyes were blue but the way there were moving back and forth implied he was reading something. Yuna was sitting on the back of an ugly car that looked like it was made of sheet metal and random bits from different rides riveted together, "Did you get the credits?" Yuna asked as she lifted a cigarettes to her mouth.

Pixie blinked a few times, "Credits?" She asked, silence fell for a second before a jolt of realization ran through her core, "Fuck! I forgot, there were these cops and this ogre and her biker gang and look at this! Its a Tiefling!" She said with a squeal as she ran her hand along the red curves of the ride.

"No credits?" Yuna asked as she took another long, slow drag, the smoke drifting through the air.

"This is better then credits, Yun!" Pixie protested as she stomped her foot, less a badass with a gun as she was against the bikers and now a child throwing a tantrum in front of her parent, "We're a car gang, this is a hell of a car. Better then that piece of shit you're sitting on."

A new voice, somewhat modulated, broke out, "Oui! The fuck you calling shit?" A small figure rolled out from under the car, her body heavily augmented with a long jack that connected the base of her skull to the car, "This baby is custom and what she lacks on the outside, she makes up for on the inside, unlike that piece of corpo pushed out crap you are driving."

"Who the fu-" Pixie said as she eyed the newcomer, "Who the fuck is this Yun and why is it allowed to speak?"

"Moana, not it," the new woman said as she rolled her eyes, "We raced together in the street race like a month ago."

Pixie seemed to mull the new information over, her eyes never going back to Moana, but stayed trained on Yuna, "Yun, what the fuck is a Moana?"

"She was at the race," Yuna said as she took another long draft.

"What? No she wasn't, there was that light werido, the big bitch in the big ride and that one fuck who... Wait, did you get one of those people from the back? Yun, why would we want such a loser?" Pixie asked

"The fuck you say?" Moana asked as she unhooked her jack and cracked her knuckles, "Am I going to have to rip off that fake fucking face of yours?"

"Yun, why is it still talking? I bet its not even house trained," Pixie growled as her hand fell to the handcannon at her waist.

"Mm," Yuna said as she flicked her spent cigarette to the ground, "Fight it out, no guns, after you pick yourselves up, you will have a job to do."
