Sometimes the Beast Wants Out.
Not everyone is special like you. the world is not exactly ready for your kind, and yet here you are.
whether you escaped from the lab, or you were deserted by someone you used to consider a friend, that doesn't matter now.
what matters now is your new family. this group of people just like you who have banded together.
you call yourselves a pack, but the name is not meant to take away from the individuality of each person. you are all special in your own way.
living together, that is just part of the story. sometimes humans try to hurt you, whether its scientists who want you back for more testing or hunters who want revenge for their loved ones
You Are Animus
Some things that I didn't explicitly state in the starter above :
During the Cold War, scientists and researchers in southern California began experimenting with genetics, attempting to splice creatures and men. In 1988, near the end of the war and their research, something went horribly wrong—their end-work, a young man infused with animal genes and intended to work for the military's ends, became infected with a highly contagious virus of unknown origins.
The virus, nicknamed "Z456" in the brief days of media exposure it received, spread incredibly quickly. Z456 was particularly insidious due to its brief but silent incubation period, during which it was fully contagious. Unknowingly infected humans traveled and brought the sickness with them; global transportation only facilitated the spread of the virus. It caused most symptomatic humans to die within three days, and within six weeks, contemporary society was decimated, replaced by a nightmarish and bleak place. Ninety-Nine % percent of the human population was killed, though a tiny fraction survived through natural immunity. These remnants have since blockaded themselves in small communities around the world, including New York, Tokyo, and Seoul.
As the years passed and the cities fell slowly to decay, populations began to rise slightly, and some people discovered additional benefits, and found themselves with the ability to shape-shift from their human form into a beast-like hybrid, a therianthrope ,
Beyond the physical advantages, their intelligence and senses seemed to sharpen, and from the wreckage of human society rose the Animus!
